Install package generated with OSP does not wok on Linux
Hi!
I have generated an install package of my product using Oracle Software Packager 2.2.0.14.0. I have tested it on Windows and Linux systems. I have found that is works properly on Windows but on Linux the installer does not even copies the files to the machine. I have set to the filegroups in the OSP to be copied on all platforms.
Why the installation does not work on Linux if the settings are correct?
Can anyone give me a solution?

Use
. .bash_profile
P.S. Where did you find the information to use
.bash_profile. I would expect you to set the
classpath in .bashrc, .profile or, to allow all to
get the same environment, in /etc/bashrc .I tried . .bash_profile and got this answer:
bash: CLASSPATH: command not foundAnd I don't recall how I decided to use .bash_profile, but .profile doesn't exist and I don't understand the syntax in .bashrc and it frightens me.

Since installing mavericks, my computer calendar does not sync with my iPhone and iPad calendars. My iPhone and iPad are synced however. What can I do to make all of my mac devices sync
You don't sync the MM calendar anymore, you subscribe to it in iCal,
iCal>Preferences>Accounts, enter the details here.
MM should be the default calendar on all clients. -
Adobe Acrobat package built with CCP will not completely install
Adobe Acrobat package built with CCP will not completely install. It starts out fine as if it is installing then suddenly disappears with no errors. I am installing it under the local administrator account and simply double clicking on the setup.exe created in the build folder. Am I missing something??
Hi rivera2u & TRU Software,
I believe you are just double clicking on the Exception Deployer and not running the same from the command prompt . Mentioned below is the syntax that we need to use while using Exception Deployer on your machine(s).
ExceptionDeployer
--workflow=install
--mode=pre|post
--INSTALLDIR=<path_of_installation directory>
--installLanguage=<locale_code for Acrobat>
--abortOnFail
--help
The same is mentioned in the link shared by Abhijit earlier.
Please do let us know if this works for you or not.

My Imac late 2012 running Yosemite does not recognise my Huawei 3g usb modem. itried to install Java bt still it does not although the same modem works with my MacBook pro . any help please
Hey there mbarikiwa,
If your iMac still has not recognized the usb modem, I would use the troubleshooting for Yosemite USB issues in the following article:
OS X Yosemite: If a USB device isn’t working
If the device is connected to a USB hub:
Make sure the device and the hub are the same speed. Connect USB 3.0 SuperSpeed devices to a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed HUB, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed devices to a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed hub, and so on.
If the device doesn’t have a power cord and is plugged into another USB device that doesn’t have a power cord:
Try plugging the device directly into your computer’s USB port or into a USB device that does have a power cord. You might need to disconnect and reconnect the other device as well, if it has stopped responding.
If you have many devices connected to your Mac:
Disconnect all USB devices except the device you’re testing, an Apple keyboard, and an Apple mouse. Make sure that the device is connected directly to the computer, and that any hubs or extension cables are disconnected. If you can use the device now, the problem may be with one of the other USB devices or hubs you had connected to your computer. Try reconnecting them, one by one, to your computer. When you find the device causing the problem, review its documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
Verify that the device appears in System Information:
Choose Apple menu > About This Mac. In the window that appears, click Overview, then click the System Report button to open System Information.
In the window that appears, see if the USB device is listed below Hardware in the Contents list. If the device appears but does not work, review the device’s documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
Restart apps:
Quit and restart any apps that use the device.
Restart your Mac:
Choose Apple menu > Restart.
Check your device’s USB connection
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,

Problem: package javax.servlet.jsp does not exist
I am a novice JSP programmer. My projects that use any javax.servlet classes are not seeing those at all. I am working with a group of folks using Java SE 1.5. (Note: I'm using Windows so the directory separator is "\")
What Used to work:
1. Nearly all my projects were working using Java version 1.6. These projects were developed as examples from Wrox and Apress books about JSP and Struts.
What has changed:
1. I un-installed the version 1.6 of JDK and JRE, as well as tomcat, netbeans, and all the associated libraries/jars.
2. I installed version 1.5 of JDK and JRE, as well as tomcat, netbeans, and all the associated libraries/jars.
3. I updated my JAVA_HOME, CATALINA_HOME, CLASSPATH, and PATH environmental variables. I made sure that the path to servlet-api.jar (in the tomcat common\lib) is included in the classpath.
What is wrong:
1. References to javax.servlet.* are not satisfied--they are flagged in the source code in NetBeans and I get compiler errors with any project containing those references. For example:
... package javax.servlet.jsp does not exist
import javax.servlet.jsp.*;
What I've found:
1. My CATALINA_HOME=C:\Java\Tomcat 5.5
2. My JAVA_HOME=C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_11
3. My CLASSPATH=.;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\QTJava.zip;%JAVA_HOME%\lib;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib;%JAVA_HOME%\lib\jsp-api.jar;%CATALINA_HOME%\common\lib\servlet-api.jar;C:\Java\logging-log4j-1.2.14\dist\lib\log4j-1.2.14.jar
4. My PATH=c:\wint\BIN;%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\bin;%CATALINA_HOME%\bin;C:\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin;D:\MiKTeX 2.5\miktex\bin;C:\Perl\bin\;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\;C:\SFU\Perl\bin\;C:\SFU\common\;C:\Program Files\Lahey-Fujitsu Fortran\v7.1\Bin;C:\Program Files\Lahey-Fujitsu Fortran\v7.1\Win32\Bin
What I need:
1. I need to have some reference to the servlet classes satisfied in my configuration. Any help is appreciated.
thanks
jondrOh. I got some over-the-shoulder debug help.
My error was in the classpath specification:
The path: %JAVA_HOME%\lib\jsp-api.jar
Should be: %CATALINA_HOME%\lib\jsp-api.jar
That contains the javax.servlet.jsp.*
Thimk.

Package javax.xml.rpc does not exist
Hi, I'm sure this is probably a basic error, which one of you Java gurus can solve instantly. I haven't used Java since 2001 and my development machine didn't even have a JDK installed until this morning!
I'm trying to create a Java client for my web service, it's COM/ASP on IIS before you ask how I did it without using Java...
Basically, I've installed J2SE v1.4.2_02, and also WSDP jwsdp-1.3, and I'm using the tutorial example at:
http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.3/tutorial/doc/JAXRPC5.html#wp79973 to create a dynamic proxy client. I assume this is what I need to do to access an existing web service?
I've copied and pasted the code into my editor and saved it as HelloClient.java. I will change the URL/URI, service name, port, etc. later on.
Now, at the cmd prompt...
D:\source\DCIS\sdk\java\dynamicproxy>javac HelloClient.java
HelloClient.java:4: package javax.xml.rpc does not exist
import javax.xml.rpc.Service;
^
HelloClient.java:5: package javax.xml.rpc does not exist
import javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException;
^
HelloClient.java:6: package javax.xml.namespace does not exist
import javax.xml.namespace.QName;
^
HelloClient.java:7: package javax.xml.rpc does not exist
import javax.xml.rpc.ServiceFactory;
I expect this is something to do with environment variables:
PATH=C:\WINNT\system32;
C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\System32\Wbem;
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDK\Bin\.;
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDK\Bin\WinNT\.;
d:\j2sdk1.4.2_02\bin\;
d:\jwsdp-1.3\jwsdp-shared\bin\;
d:\jwsdp-1.3\apache-ant\bin\
CLASSPATH=.;
Is there something I need to set in my classpath for this?
I know the tutorial suggests using Ant to build the example, but as far as I can tell that uses Tomcat, and I only want to build a client application! There must be a way to get around this...
TIA for any help you give me!Hi,
I am getting this error message when i try to create the webservice client.

After looking at your response to add the classpath to this jar file.
jaxrpc-spi.jar.
But when i looked into my folder found that missing this jar file.
where i can i download this file?
I would like to know the error message that i have got is because of this missing file?
Please guide me on this issue.

Package fuego.lang/papi does not exist
Hi,
I change the code of BPM_HOME\webapps\workspace\WEB-INF\lib\fuego.workspace\fuego\workspace\example
MyWorkListDecorator. (just unzip the jar -> change .class to .java->add code)
The code snippet is as follows. I just want to change the row background color when the deadline is less than one hour.
However, when I compile the .java, it always shows errors:
1, cannot find symbol: InstanceInfo
2, package does not exist: fuego.papi, fuego.lang , fuego.workspace.model.view
Even when I compile (javac) the original file, same errors still appear. And it cannot be changed to .class file.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot
=========java code snippet=================
public String getRowStyle(String viewId, InstanceInfo instanceInfo, int rowIndex) throws ParseException {
String s=null;
fuego.lang.Time df = DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance();
if(instanceInfo.getProcessDeadline().compareTo(df)<=0){

DateFormat mediumDateFormat = DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance(DateFormat.MEDIUM, DateFormat.MEDIUM);
GregorianCalendar cal2 = new GregorianCalendar();
String ss=mediumDateFormat.format(cal2.getTimeInMillis()).toString();

if(iDay<60&&iDay>0){ s= "background-color:lightblue"; }

====================Hi,
I'd suspect you're using Studio if you're getting this error. The problem you'll have trying this with Studio is that it does not have the "fuegopapi-client.jar".
You might want to install Enterprise, and do your work in that environment. Once Enterprise is installed, put the file
C:/{OracleBPMEnterpriseHomeDir}/client/papi/lib/fuegopapi-client.jar in your classpath and try to compile again.
Hope this helps,

Package javax.servlet does not exist, package javax.servlet.http does not
Dear All,
I am a newbie to JAVA.
I installed JDK1.6.0_04, then NetBeans IDE 6.0
I tried compiling an example servlet, but got this error message:
package javax.servlet does not exist, package javax.servlet.http does not exist
I tried locating these packages, but in vain. I also tried setting the CLASSPATH to many values, still it did not work.
Can anyone, please, help me with this.
Should I be able to see/locate these packages, do I have to download them?
Thank you very much.davidgoodman wrote:

What servlet/JSP engine do you plan to deploy to? Tomcat, perhaps?I think it's Tomcat (C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache Tomcat 6.0.14). Are there other engines that come with NetBeans IDE 6.0 (when I downloaded NetBeans, I chose ALL)
>
If so, you'll need to put the servlet JAR in your CLASSPATH. (servlet-api.jar for Tomcat 5.5 and earlier, servlet.jar for 6.0 >and later.)
I tried locating these packages, but in vain.
You won't find them until you realize that you have to deploy that servlet someplace.How to deploy?
I also tried setting the CLASSPATH to many values, still it did not work.
See above. What were you planning to set CLASSPATH to?First I set to:
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache Tomcat 6.0.14\lib (because I found jar named servlet-api.jar in this folder)
Later I added this:
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_04\lib (out of trial-and-fail)
Finally I added some paths that lead to a library such as
C:\Program Files\glassfish-v2\lib
C:\Program Files\glassfish-v2\lib\ant\lib
Can anyone, please, help me with this.
Should I be able to see/locate these packages, do I have to download them?
You have to get a servlet/JSP engine. Step 1.Thank you for your help -
Package org.jdesktop.layout does not exist?
I have created a project in Netbeans using the Java Project with Existing Ant Script and am trying to use the Netbeans GUI interface to develop my project, but even though I have created a folder that contains the swing-layout-1.0.3.jar and I no longer get the errors in my java file, I cannot built the project. I get the error: package org.jdesktop.layout does not exist.
In my java code, I can make an import statement, and Netbeans gives no errors. I can start typing "org. " and Netbeans suggests the classes, so clearly the org.jdesktop.layout does exist and is available to the code. So why am I getting this error, and how can I correct it?
Thanks in advance,
Chris Couloni could compile it properly by givin the path to the swing-layout-1.0.3.jar file in classpath. but i'm not able to run it now. i get the following error.

I have installed Adobe Flash but firefox does not show as plugin
I have downloaded the most recent versions of Firefox (30.0) and Adobe Flash Player. The Adobe website tells me my flash player is installed and current but Firefox does not show it as a plug in and a site that requires flash player (google finance) to view charts does not work. The place for the chart remains blank after telling me it has loaded.
Any thoughts?When a page is using a plugin, usually an icon similar to a piece of Lego appears in the address bar. You can click the logo to check that Flash is allowed to run on the page, or approve it to run if it isn't.
I randomly picked a stock and enlarged the chart and got the following URL. Any luck with this one: http://www.google.com/finance?chdnp=1&chdd=1&chds=1&chdv=1&chvs=maximized&chdeh=0&chfdeh=0&chdet=1405540800000&chddm=1173&chls=IntervalBasedLine&q=NASDAQ%3AAAPL&ntsp=0&fct=big&ei=YJzGU_iiEZSziALE4oCYCg

Netbeans 5.0 beta: package org.jdesktop.layout does not exist
This is a newbie question. I'm running netbeans 5.0 beta and put together a UI with the nice UI builder in netbeans. When I go to compile I get "package org.jdesktop.layout does not exist". I've updated my class path via the netbeans libaryar manager to include the jars swing-layout-0.7.jar and org-jdesktop-layout.jar but it is still not finding the class. What am I missing? Thanks!
Do you get this error when selecting "run" from within NetBeans?
When I create a project using Netbeans 5.0 beta using the form designer NetBeans automatically adds swing-layout-0.7.jar to the list of libraries in the libraries node in the project window. I didn't do anything fancy.
Do you get this error if you create another project?
it works fine for me. -
"package java.xml.registry does not exist" error in NetBeans
Hi all
I'm using netbeans for developing webservices and and have to use JAXR. I have downloaded and installed jwsdp1.5.
When I view the source code for the JAXR sample java files that accompany the java EE tutorial in the NetBeans IDE Source Editor, I get the error : package java.xml.registry does not exist.
However, the release note for NetBeans says that it supports JAXR.
Also, when I compile and run the same files using DOS and the ant command, the files work.
Can someone please tell me what to do and how to work on JAXR clients in NetBeans because the Help files don't have any documentation on it nor does the NeBeans Field Guide?Do you have the jaxrpc-api.jar and jaxprc-ri.jar in your classpath?
They are in <wspack1.1 installation>/jaxrpc-1.0.2/lib

Sorry that I write again about this problem, but I can't manage with it.
When I'm trying to compile the program (Assigment.java) from book code appears an error:
D:\Java\Code\c03\Assignment.java:5: package com.bruceeckel.simpletest does not exist
import com.bruceeckel.simpletest.*;
It's not easy!! :(
I have SDk in c:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\
my projects are in d:\java
and the source code from the book: d:\java\code\
i copied the whole catalog com\bruceeckel\ into c:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\
I JCreator in options->JDK Profiles->j2sdk1.4.2_05(edit)->sources I added path c:\j2sdk1.4.2_05
And I don't know what else??
Please Help Me!!Edna's #1 rule for Java Newbies... Never
ever use an IDE
Now you have introduced a new variable to the problem.
Assuming com.bruceeckel is in some jar file called
bruce.jar (I like that), just add the the following
to you class path
<path to bruce.jar>/bruce.jarI take it that you are working through Bruce Eckel's Thinking in Java book ( or online )... I checked it out myself not to long ago, and following the instructions, found that I had to do somethings prior to using his code samples and exercises...
One is to download his source code at http://mindview.net/Books/TIJ/#SourceCode
Two, when you read the page, it tell you that you need to compile the downloaded source code to run the examples in the book... follow the directions given in the above link...
Once its all compiled, then it will be ready for use, well after you set the classpath as per instructions...
and leave the IDE alone for now, once you get a better understanding of Java, then you can take the time to learn how to use the IDE, but for now, it will probable just confuse you more... But that only my opinion...
Any way, download, compile, set the classpath and your on your way...
