Install peoplesoft on Windows 7!!

Hi,
I have been struggling to make peoplesoft 8.51/HCM9.1 working on windows 7 64-bit, as it has been failing with an error "missing or invalid version of sql library psora (200 0)".
When I gone through the various posts on this error I realized that one of the reasons could be having a wrong version of the oracle client that is 64-bit instead of 32-bit.
But I have below fundamental questions before install 32-bit client -
1. As I am installing on my laptop where no server (like windows server 2008) do I need to install oracle database software and oracle client software as well?
2. If above both needed then while installing 32-bit oracle client what version of oracle database (software) should be? is 32-bit or 64-bit?

    I hate to be rude, but I am following you for a couple of days now on this forum and even in the same tread and it looks like you do not want to helped, you just want quick answers. I do not see you putting any effort nor show any respect for the product or the people how try to help you. Keep in mind that everyone on this forum is voluntarily posting answers, nobody is getting paid, and I'm sure you do not pay to post here either, so please do not use words as asap and immediate.
    You started of wrong, by following a post and not following the installation manual and even tried installing the wrong components.
    The post was written by someone with experience on the subject who meets the installation requirements, with all respect to the poster of the blog.
    I have to backup Nicolas in his saying.
    Nicolas has asked you to use better thread title (more informative than just "installation help") and you created a new thread with this subject.
    This does not say anything about the issue you are facing now.
    I doubt you can successfully complete this installation, not meant personally, but you are using the wrong software, on the wrong OS, with no documentation.
    My advise:
    Stop with what you have done until now and start all over by following the installation manual and hardware & software requirements.

    if yes then is there any version restriction like only peopletool 8.49 or 50 or HRMS 9 or 9.0;
    or any drivers or other solution requires to install it.

    now Windiws 7 is certified.
    that means we can install peoplesoft on windows 7.
    But i dont know that before installing peopletools onto windows 7 we have to update or upgrade or to apply any specific patchess from microsoft to wimdows 7(OS)
    or we have to apply any specific patchess on system from oracle or microsoft befroe starting insatallation to make system compitible for peoplesoft.

    You should note that the Windows 7 certification is only as a PeopleSoft development client. If you are planning to install a database/app server/web server then it is not and will not be certified on Windows 7 (Windows Server 2008 will be certified).
    The Tech Update on Oracle Support lists specific issues and the tools patch levels required to address them. Oracle does not generally certify the client OS down to a specific patch level. You should also review the Browser Limitations document for IE8-specific issues if you are planning to use this as your browser.

    Has anyone successfully installed PeopleSoft PT 8.48 or 8.49 application FSCM 9.0 or 8.9, HRMS 8.9 or 9.0 successfully?

    If you are talking about server side, Windows Vista (regardless the Edition) is not supported.

  • Timeframe for installing PeopleSoft 8.49

    I am planning a project which involves installing PeopleSoft 8.49 and PeopleTools 8.49 (and all of its pre-required programs) to a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 enviroment.
    I know every installation is different in regards of system specs and OS, but I would like to hear how long it takes regardless of OS and specs so I can come up with a ballpark figure to put into my schedule.

    Your first Peoplesoft installation ? Hmmm, I would say 2 or 3 weeks minimum, obviously all is depending of your background.

    SAPinst is having problems starting up.
    Please post the sapinst.log file from C:\Program Files\sapinst_dir
    Make sure you do the following.
    1.) Turn off Windows Firewall
    2.) Turn off UAC (http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm)
    3.) Install right version of JRE/JDK (1.4.2 Update 29)
    4.) Set the correct User Environment Variables (JAVA_HOME, SAPSYSTEMNAME)
    5.) Delete all SAP folders/contents in TEMP folder of your user profile (C:/Users/ULRICH~1.HNP/AppData/Local/Temp/.....).
    5.) Delete C:\Program Files\sapinst_dir\ folder.  This will be recreated when SAPinst starts again.
    Give this a shot and see what happens.

  • Problem installing printer on windows 7 enterprise machine

    I have HP Color LaserJet CP2025DN printer which i'm trying to install on my windows 7 machine. I have search on HP site where I was told that I can get the driver from windows update but when I run the windows update I cant seem to find cp2025dn or cp2020
    printer from list.
    Can someone please help me installing this printer.
    When I go into my printer and device I see this icon.

    Since all drivers in Windows update are produced from manufacturer and then after passing the Windows Logo Program testing, then they can be distribute onto update, that should be little delayed. I
    suggest we download the latest driver applied to Windows 7 from manufacturer site.
    Before installing the driver, is suggest you open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features and delete the printer driver that is already installed.
    I'm seeing a lot of information about the HP LaserJet CP2025dn not working properly with Windows 7.
    I suggest contacting HP for the drivers support for Windows 7, or you can install the driver with Vista compatible mode for test:
    1. Insert the installation media, right click on the DVD drive icon and choose Open
    2. In the open folder, right click the program setup.exe file and click the Properties option.
    3. Select the Compatibility tab.
    4. Select the Run This Program in Compatibility Mode option.
    5. From the drop-down list, choose the operating system you ran before upgrading to Vista.
    6. If necessary, select the option to run the program as an administration.
    7. Click OK.
    Now, right click on Setup.exe and choose Run as administrator to install it again.
    Furthermore, you can try to use Windows XP mode to use these printer.

    Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
    Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.

  • How do I install Bootcamp on Windows 7.

    I have just installed Windows 7 on my Mac Mini and now I want to switch back to the Mac OS. When I hold down Alt while booting up to change OS nothing happens.
    The other option is to install Bootcamp to work with windows. It's already on my mac as I used it to install Windows 7. But there is no option to switch OS with Bootcamp as I can't find it on Windows 7. I've seen tutorials on how to install it with a disk but the Mac mini has no optical drive.

    At first I was under the impression i had accidentily deleted the MAC OS but thankfully I haven't. I did a system restore on Windows and when it restarted I held Alt and I could select my OS.
    But I still don't have the shortcut to bootcamp showing in windows. How do you make a bootable USB for Bootcamp?

    Thank you for the question.  Here are a couple things you could try to troubleshoot this issue.  You can try to repair the program Apple Software Update by following the first article below.  After you process these steps, attempt to uninstall this program.  If that step does not work, I have included a more in depth troubleshooting article that will help you uninstall program.  Once this is done you should be able to install Safari.

I tried the steps you have provided in your troubleshooting, but it won't work for me because the Apple Mobile Devilce is perfectly installed on my windows. However, the driver "Microsoft teredo Tunneling adapter" has a yellow exclamation mark, which i believe means it's not installed correctly or something is wrong with it. This driver is under the Network Adapters (Please see picture below).
    This is what happens when I connect my iPhone 4s to my laptop (Windows 7 Starter 32-bit)
    1. The phone charges it's battery
    2. I can open it in My Computer and import/export media files.
    In iTunes
    3. It start to sync until step 3 then stops.
    4. The iPhone option with an arrow appears beside the iTunes Store, but when the arrow is clicked it disappears.
    I hope you can provide me a solution for this problem.

    For your iTunes issue with it not recognizing your iPhone, I would go ahead and suggest deleting iTunes and all of its components from your Windows computer and installing fresh.

    Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes

    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour

    Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
    As far as the arrow button that you click and the iPhone disappears, it sounds like you may be clicking on the eject button. Please take a look at the following article for information on the eject button in iTunes.
