Install PostScript Driver Mac OS10.10

Hi, I can't seem to install PostScript drivers in Illustrator CC.
I keep getting "The selected PPD is either invalid or corrupted..."
I'm getting the driver from here:
Adobe - PostScript printer drivers : For Macintosh
I need to save out a custom size PostScript file so I can get color separations.
Any suggestions?

Do you have a PostScript printer? You might try following the directions in the answer to this post

I rebooted the Mac Mini holding the Option key down but it doesn't work. I used an USB drive with O.s 10.7 from Apple that I have used previuosly with other computers and I also tried with a CD install O.S 10.6
It seems that the Mac Mini can't recognize the keyboard inputs and I tried with 3 different keyboards but still didn't work.
I also reset the SMC and PRAM but I had no luck. Any clues?

Hi,
I am trying to install Adobe Page Maker 7.0 upgrade CD on my Dell Laptop that has Windows 7.
Everything else installed except the PostScript Driver.
It starts to install then gets to - choose a printer.
I chose Generic Printer then it says chose an operating system and it gives me a choice of Win 95, Win 98 and Win NT.
I have Windows 7.

No, can't do. It's hoplessly outdated and not compatible. If you really need PS output, look into GhostScript or other commercial products or use your normal printer driver's "to file" option. Otehrwise there's nothing to be missed.

Since I installed on my Mac os10.6 to the latest version of Firefox I am getting error beeps when I try to type. It won't let me re-type or delete anything

How to install Adobe printer's 'postscript driver' in mac os x

as posted recently hv a problem with adobe printer's postscript driver (ppd),In Indesign cs4 It shows ppd is missing while making Print File(.ps),
pls suggest how to install ppd again, i tried to install ppd driver downloaded from adobe website, but it fails to install.

Here's one of the comments that you would have found:
Short description to the workaround Solutions
1) Usual workaround for printing with Distiller under SL and InDesign CS4:
Copy the PPD called “ADPDF9.PPD” (download-link here in this topic) to Library/Printers/PPDs /Contents/Resources/en.lproj
Works for CS4. Problem: Does NOT work for CS5.
2) Workaround for InDesign CS5:
- Go to Applications/Adobe Indesign CS5/Presets
- Create a folder called “PPDs” (attention: foldername is case-sensitive!)
- Copy the PPD called “ADPDF9.PPD” (download-link here in this topic) into this folder.
- PostScript Printer will be useable within InDesign CS5

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.

Here's an update. I was successful in creating two partitions on my internal drive, and in installing OS 10.6.6 on the second partition, as per your guidence. I now have it up to 10.6.8 with all the security updates and AppleWorks. A great thing.
Some thoughts:
• The partitioning had one hitch; it failed at first. But once I "repaired" the disc with Disc Utility the partitioning went thru.
• The partitioning took a long time in 'resizing the partition.' A few hours I think it was. Lots of progress bar watching.
• If I had it to do again, I'd size the two partitions differently. My original data was occupying about 230 Gb of the 320 Gb disc. I made the new partitions share the space, about 230 and 75Gb. That left very little available space for the main disc. I ought to have put some breathing room in there. As it is, it's an incentive to clean up all those files, especially all those iTunes files. I now have about 10% of available space there and mean to continue deleting.
So, all in all a good project that got me where I wanted to go. Thank you for your help.

Load the drivers and you should then be able to add it in Print Center.

The software for your printer is available from Apple Software Update and not as any installer from teh HP site.
Follow the steps below to install the printer on Mountin Lion:

For any issue getting the drivers be sure to reboot your Mac and try again.

Typically this is caused by the internal list of compatible devices in the Mac being out of date. All you should need to do is disconnect the printer from the Mac, run Apple Software Update (even if there are no updates, the list will still update), restart the Mac, connect the printer to the Mac, and add the print queue. If that doesn't work, let me know.

You could purchase any commonly available external USB DVD/CD writer, such as the excellent LG brand units sold on Amazon, for about $30 US. I've used an LG writer for years to save wear and tear on my older Superdrive.
