Install problem Elements 6.0 for Mac

I know this version of the program works since I loved the trial. Waited too long to buy it, and now it's not offered since Adobe only has 8.0. So bought one on eBay. I got started on setup before I got this JavaScript Alert: Critical errors were found in setup - incompatible payloads already installed Please see the Setup log for details.
I'm clueless ... have no idea where to find the setup log, for starters. Any ideas on where to find this or what the overall problem is?

No, not out of luck, just in for a little more complicated installation experience than usual. Go download this, run it, and then delete everything you can find from PSE 6, especially from Hard drive>library>application support, and from your username>library>preferences. Note that the first file path is the hard drive at the top level of your hard drive, not your username>library or system>library.

Hi all!
I recently bought a Canon scanner in Japan. I understood that the Adobe Photoshop Elements disc that came with it would be installable in, say, English, which I speak (as opposed to Japanese, which I don't know to well). I don't see any menu during installation that allows me to choose the language. Canon Japan says there is such a menu, but I think they're thinking Windows version only (since they sent me a Windows screen shot). Can anyone help? Is it possible that only the Windows version allows the language choice?! Thanks! E.L.

I'm sorry to say that if you have a Japanaese version of PSE, you have a Japanese version of PSE. Elements is not multilanguage as so many programs are, whether in mac or windows. If there is a language choice on the disc, it would be someplace before you got to the PSE installer itself, in the event that canon had included both language versions.

As long as your license supports both platforms you should only have to download the Mac version and install/activate using your serial number. If you need help finding a link to download the file, please indicate the PSE version you need.

Your right. It won't make any sense to subscribe for a software that I don't own. I have CS5 on my Dell Laptop which has been giving me issues, so I re-installed the Operating System along with all my editing programs and nothing more. So I can toggle between the Mac and the PC to get the job done in the meantime. I will eventually get CS6 for the Mac.

Uninstall / Deactivate Photoshop Elements 4.0 for Mac?

A while ago, I purchased a copy of Photoshop Elements 4.0 for Mac. I installed the two copies permitted me by the license.
Since then, I purchased Photoshop, and have no need for Photoshop Elements. I wanted to uninstall it and give it to someone I know-- but I can't find any information on how to remove (and deactivate) it! Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about this?

I dont think there is an Uninstall alias inside the App folder in PSE 4.0 timeframe...we started adding that uninstall alias only in E8 version.
Can you please check inside the <Macintosh HD>\Utilities\Adobe Installers\ folder if there is any entry present to remove the application? If yes, then you need to double click it and remove the app.
Else, I am not too sure...I think in PSE 4 timeframe a user was needed to drag and drop the app folder to trash.
May be Barbara/John or senior members of forum can help and provide confirmation here.

Trying to install Photoshop Elements v6 on my Mac from original DVD.

Trying to install Photoshop Elements v6 on my Mac from original DVD. Error message "Set up error Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance" I had inadvertantly binned the original copy of PSE 6. I have tried to remove the various 'bits and pieces' of PSE 6 but still get error message. Can I reinstall from a Time Machine Backup?
I really need help with this!

I have my disc for Photoshop Elements 8.0 for Mac but my disc has been damaged and I have reinstalled my Mac, but now I cannot re install my PSE 8.0, where can I download it from?

It seems to work if i follow the directions posted on that page.
This is what i get on a windows system, maybe something is different on a mac
system.

Can't install photoshop elements 11 on my Mac. I installed, moved a file (whoops). It stopped working. So I uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall but it wouldn't do it. Is it now locked or something? Can't find any way to contact Adobe for help (!!!!) so would be so so grateful for some advice.

Hello i cannot intall the Camera raw 6.6 updater on my PS element 10 editor (from Apple Store)
The patch installer told me thet the patch cannot be applicated. Why ?
Any way to change that. May I install in a different way ?

Which version of office did you install? If its 2008 the early version had some problems and you will want to update the office software to i think it is 12.3.0
If it is 2011 you might want to do the same thing.

No, not at all. They are both the most current versions for their respective platoforms, but PE 4 for mac is equivalent to (not by any means the same as) PE 4 for windows. PE 5 introduces smart sharpening, black and white conversion, curves, lens correction, new photo layouts in the editor, etc., none of which are in PE 4 for either platform.

HT5130 Unable to install Security Update 2012-001 for Mac OS 10.6.8

Have just tried to install Security Update 2012-001 for Mac OS 10.6.8 and get message saying cannot download. Download stalls at Zero kB downloaded. Dialog says an error occurred during download.
Internet connection is fine and first time denial has occurred.
