Install problem of Premiere Elements 9

Hello Forum,
During the install of Premiere Elements 9 from CD and after a fresh install of Windows XP SP3 and not yet a anti virus- or firewall program
(I have not yet used internet) the following ERROR message appeared:
ERROR
The Windows Installer Service cannot update the system file C:\Windows\system32\msxml6r.dll because the file is protected by Windows. You may need to update your operating system for this program to work correctly.
I was informed that his error message seems to be a known issue at Microsoft and they have no patch for it yet.
When I clicked on OK the installation of the application was continued and finally mentioned to be succesfull.
If I do not update the Op. Syst. what does that mean for the correct working of Pre 9?
Has somebody the same experience?
Thanks a lot for your reaction in advance.

Hello Steve,
Thank you for your advices.
The earlier mentioned error message: " The Windows Installer Service cannot update the system file C:\Windows\system32\msxml6r.dll because the file is protected by Windows. You may need to update your operating system for this program to work correctly" came again after a re-install of PE9 after a restore of a fresh installed Windows (incl. the updates now). Probably this could be an explanation below:
When installing PE9 on a non-English Operating Systems (I have the Dutch version) the installer attempts to replace the file msxml6r.dll with the English version of the same file. Since XP SP3, this file is already present on the system and is protected by the OS. This generates probably the error. That is, I think, also the reason that you do not get this Error message on your system.
It should have no consequence for the installation of PE9 on my "Dutch" system.
I have taken over the following actions from your advices to see if it helps to solve my major issue (PE9 hangs due to atioglxx.dll http://forums.adobe.com/message/3609712#36097121).
1. Installing QuickTime afterwards.
2. Having used Advanced System Care to clean.
3. I have again registered PE9 with my Adobe ID.
4. By accident I saw a newer version ATI driver and installed it.
5. Removed BadDrivers.txt
It is a pity that all those actions did not solve the major issue.
If you have more tips or how to trace where it is going wrong, they are very welcome.
I have used Process Monitor and Windbg without succes so far
From Windbg I can startup the PE9 Welcome screen by opening Adobe Premiere Elements 9.exe, but as soon as I have chosen to start a new project then PE9 is exited and Adobe Premiere Elements.exe should start but I can not manage that within Windbg.
Thank you for your help in advance.

This IS the forum for Elements... do you mean you are able to run PHOTOSHOP Elements, but not PREMIER Elements?

Are you referring to how many times can I install, uninstall, reinstall Photoshop Elements 13 or Premiere Elements 13 on the same computer?
Or, how many of your computers can have a same purchased activated serial number at the same time for either of these products?
If the former, I know of no limit.
If the latter, the answer would be as John as mentioned.

The replies from here are not instantaneous. But, your fellow users all try to respond as timely as possible.
What is your computer operating system?
From where are you downloading Premiere Elements 13....direct from Adobe as the tryout or the purchased product? If the purchased product, do you now have a purchased serial number to go with the installation files?
Where are you stopped in the installation....at the Sign In or before? Is the faulting module cited in any messages? What are the error messages?
    The usual questions:
    1. Are you working with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    2. Are you running the computer programs as administrator?
    3. Are you working with a pen and tablet device instead of mouse?
    4. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
    5. Are you installing the program to the default location on the Local Disc C (if Windows).
Let us start here and then decide what next based on the details that you post. Subsequent troubleshooting may include:
deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and/or uninstall, free ccleaner run through, reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

  • Audio volume problem in Premiere elements 12

How can I reduce or increase volume in the soundtrack???

Sorry for my English but I hope you understandthe following.
I have for the moment no time to go through your comments and ideas, but I certainly will do the coming days.
For good order I’ll explain my problem more in detail: (working with Window’s 7)
When I use Tools>smartmix, I change Audio 1 in “forground”, Comments in “foreground”, Soundtrack in “Background”, Audio 2 and 3 in “Background”. So far so good!.
Next step is: edit>preferences>audio>smartmixer, and the only thing I can change is “milliseconds (i.e. 10)”, “mix pause (i.e. 5 sec)”, and “reduce background in % (i.e. 90%)”. So far so good again!
The volume sound  of the audio track is indeed reduced when there is a conversation in the clip, but not enough, so still too loud, certainly when the conversation stops, the volume sound is far too loud.
    What do I want:
    a)      Remain the original volume from the conversations etc. in the clip, so don’t change anything in here.
    b)      Reduce the volume to the level I like!
I realise, this looks an easy and simple question, but I can’t fide out  hou too lower only the volume in a soudtrack!
Waiting your reply and many thanks in advance

  • Installing 32 bit Premiere Elements 12 problems

I purchased my upgrades to Elements and Premiere 12 today.  They downloaded just fine.  Elements installed just fine.
Premiere downloaded and extracted just fine.  The install however failed noting that I was trying to install the 64 bit version.  I clearly extracted the file labele 32bit.
I even deleted the files, downloaded again, extracted again and...same result.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    How to resolve?

    Tasarsailor
This sounds like an issue for Adobe. But first, did you purchase Premiere Elements 12 from Adobe? Is your 32 bit operating system Windows or Mac?
Please use the following link to contact Adobe Chat who will resolve your issue or direct you to the department that will.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=downloading-installing -and-setting-up
When the above link opens, click on "I still need help" in order to bring up the Adobe Chat pop up. I have pre-set the topic for "Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up".
I believe that will get you a quick resolution to your issue unless you have another contact with Adobe that you obtained during the purchase transaction.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thanks.

  • Problems with Premiere Elements 12

I've been using Adobe's "Elements" applications since Vs 3.0. Each release seems to include undocumented features that cause problems, and don't get fixed until a next major release, for which we are charged a tidy sum.
"Premiere 12" and its associated "Organizer" are no exceptions. Background:
    1. FINALLY am running a new PC considering I'm using AVCHD "m2ts" file formats generated by Sony HD Camcorder, for which previous PC and versions of Adobe Premiere Elements (8, 10, etc.) were fairly sluggish with their performance. New PC: Windows 8.1, 32GB RAM, >7TB HDD space, Intel i7 CPU, GIGABYTE MB, NVIDIA GeForec GTX 770 Video Adapter...plenty of computing power!
    2. Installed Photoshop/Premiere Elements/Organizer on C: drive, default locations.
    3. Experienced following problems, for which several have been kind enough to offer suggestions for repair, but none so far have worked.
         a. When adding "text" captions, after a few have been created the control panel for text loses contact with the "Style" and "Effects" modules, making these capabilities non-functional.
         b. When creating menus for discs, the DVD menu navigation operates correctly, but the Blu-ray menus do not. The "Stop" markers, while functional for DVDs, are not functional for Blu-ray discs. When a video is played that encounters a "stop" marker with a DVD build, the end action is properly realized with the main menu then making a reappearance, allowing one to make the next choice. When a video is played through to encounter a "stop" marker with a Blu-ray build, the video does NOT return to the main menu, but rather continues playing into the 2nd movie (or beyond) until it reaches the absolute end of content on the disc...at which time we are then returned to the main menu. Finally reading the manual, it indicates that this is a problem! FIX!?
         c. "Organizer," which works with both Premiere and Photoshop Elements, is highly unstable when working with AVCHD files, while it performs "normally" with still images (photos, etc.). I have over 4,000 AVCHD (m2ts) video clips that I was attempting to bring into Organizer. My first attempt was to let Organizer "see" all of the files and to "bring them into" its catalog. However, after a short period of time, with less than 100 or so video clips identified and thumbnailed, Organizer either stops working and hangs, or crashes totally. I found that to get these 4,000 files into Organizer I had to manually pick around 50 or so files at a time, which Organizer seems able to begin its "first stage" of identifying, creates "placeholders" in the Organizer's screen, then crashes or hangs. At that point, I must restart Organizer, which will then continue on to successfully build thumbnails. This process was repeated until all 4,000+ files were recognized and ID'd. Regarding this issue: I just updated my "Nero" to "Nero 2014 Platinum," which comes with its own "Organizer" or "Media Manager." it is VERY similar in nature to Adobe's "Organizer," with one major difference...IT WORKS! Nero's manager imported not only the 4,000+ AVCHD files into its catalog, but rumaged around my entire system finding photos and video files I'd long since forgotten about! I've not yet used the new Nero video editing/production tools, but won't be surprized if I find that all works equally as well.
Not having any "fixes" for these problems, I find I am forced to use other applications (Vegas 12, Pinnacle 17, or perhaps now "Nero" as well) to get on with our production work. Note: I had been using Adobe Premiere 6.0, then CS-4, for a while but with changes in OSs found that these products as well evolved with issues of their own. Not going to spend the big bucks to purchase more expensive problems that don't otherwise get addressed without spending even more $$$ for the next major updates!
    Help?
    George

    Bill;
YES! It WAS Sonic that I’d suspicioned was at the core of these issues in the past. I’d run into problems a few years ago with various versions of “Creator,” “Roxio,” etc. as well as another similar products, and found “Sonic” to be the common denominator with all similar problems. I had NO idea that Adobe had also chosen to implement a 3rd party’s product (Sonic) as part of their offerings! Well, that says a lot!
Also did NOT know that Sonic had been sold off to Rovi! Searching the internet…shows this was a big deal back in 2010! Hadn’t been following these things! Looks like Rovi is out to capture the world…would be a nefarious event indeed if they fail to maintain what Sonic has sold to various entities which have incorporated their modules into the various products we continue to own and purchase today!
I don’t know which cave or rock that Rovi’s been living under, or which marketing outfit they’d signed up with that provided the evaluation that Rovi appears to be reacting to, but we at least are still engaged in sending off videos around the world via DVD/Blu-ray media (and on rare occasions, VHS tape!). Their assessment that delivery of video by physical disc is dead is either wishful thinking or badly mistaken in my opinion. Try, worst case, supplying a video to a person living on an island off of Queensland, Australia, for example, who has NO internet connectivity!
I know that streaming is a big deal (Netflix, etc.), and that the new buzzword “Cloud” has taken over a lot of the computing world’s philosophy of late…but neither of these “new” ideas are implemented to the extent they would like to believe…and are the domain of mostly “new” users living in areas where these technologies are available. They are cutting off a vast number of video watchers who employ neither of these technologies nor have access to them, who, believe it or not, are still using VHS video tape, DVDs, and/or Blu-ray media to watch videos! The relatively small percentage of individuals who use (can afford, or have access to) either streaming or the cloud does not justify not taking care of business and dropping support for all these products that implement their procured technologies.
I for one have great/fast access to the Internet (50Mbps +), but really am not of the mindset that I trust uploading/saving critical data to the “Cloud,” and do not do so…even though Microsoft’s latest “Window 8.1” and several other procured applications provide plenty of opportunity to do so! I think the latest stories re Hacking proves this point…and I have experienced the loss of stored data (websites) over the years via professional website hosting facilities to the point where I know I don’t yet trust the “cloud” to be the repository of my data either…a service which cannot guarantee either the presence or security of data!
I do also enjoy Netflix’s streaming technology…even though there are occasions whereby a movie is interrupted to buffer additional video data. Sometimes much more frequently than I would appreciate! So…streaming is also not the end all of video watching either! OK…I have rented a DVD or two in the past from Netflix which had been scratched or badly handled, which also provided aggravation as well!
So long as the industry continues to sell the technology of the day to us consumers who invest in their products, and so long as industry will do what they do best…to continue refining and upgrading capabilities, they must also continue to provide the “cross over” technologies, the continued support that would span at least a few generations of video products that will allow us to continue viewing videos obtained at an earlier time. Right now we see VHS tape is already at its end of life usefulness…and yet there remains support for converting such media. We also see the vast majority of products purporting to support DVD and Blu-ray builds…the latest of video products…and yet, the underpinnings of these applications appears to be diminishing already…
Thanks so much for the feedback and update and the opportunity to vent! Do we know how Adobe is/will be reacting to these events? Will they spend the bucks to come up with their own code to replace that which is not supported any longer by 3rd parties?
    George

  • Is there any "simple" documentation on the steps to download and install Photoshop and Premiere Elements V13?  The downloads seems to work but there's nothing clear on what do you do next.

I've been messing with computers since 1958 and I've never seen such a mess as trying to download and install the recently purchased copies of Photoshop and Premiere Elements Version 13.  Slow downloads?  Sure, but I can live with that.  But once downloaded, what next?  Look for a xxx.exe file somewhere in the pile?  Read the "ReadMe" file?  All I seem to get is unzipping some files with nothing leading me into the proper steps.  I can't even seem to get off the ground.  Everything I touch unzips and just lies there.  I hate to think I've gone dumb after all of these years, but "user friendly" this is not.  My "Your order confirmation" sheet gives me "Follow the instructions below to start using it today" and the first three steps work as you'd expect.  Step 4 states "After you have completed the download process, your serial number will be displayed in the download center."  Step 5 is "You can log back into 'Adobe Account Management' in the future to re-download your product or retrieve your serial number. ...."  I have no problem with my serial number but there seems to be a lot missing between Steps 4 and 5.  It would be nice to have this information as pretty standard "stuff.  Computers are supposed to do super stuff without a lot of time-consuming problems with a simple process like installing the software.  I'm feeling a bit hostile about this but it is a time-consuming, frustrating process.

  • Problems with Premiere Elements 8 after updating to Nvidia driver 195.81 or later?

    Hello PRE8 users,
If you have an Nvidia-based graphics chipset, and you've updated to Nvidia driver version 195.81 or later and you're still experiencing frequent crashes and freezes in Premiere Elements 8, then we'd like to hear from you in this thread. As mentioned in the announcement at the top of this forum, we believe most of these issues are caused by a problem with an Nvidia driver that was released after PRE8 was developed, and that the issues should be resolved by updating to Nvidia driver version 195.81 or later. Notes from the announcement I mentioned above are copied below for your reference.
    Best regards,
    Chad
For Nvidia users, there is a driver update that will fix both of the following issues:
Premiere Elements 8 does not restart after closing on Windows
Frequent and inexplicable crashes with Premiere Elements 8
To resolve these issues, you should update your GPU (graphics card) driver to version 195.81 or higher, by following the steps below.
    1.      Identify which GPU driver you have by right clicking on the Desktop > Properties > Settings and in the Display field it will be displayed.
    2.      Go to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and download driver for your GPU card. Its size varies from 80 to 120MB depending upon the GPU card model.
    3.      After the download is complete, run the driver install Installation. This should take less than 2 minutes.
There are no known issues that the latest driver update will cause.
This is an announcement. There is a separate discussion topic located here.
***If the update steps shown above do not upgrade your system to version 195.81 or higher, then you may need to download the driver directly. Use the link below only if the steps above do not update your driver to 195.81 or higher. The download page for Vista and Windows 7 is located here:

  • Problems with Premiere Elements 9.0.1 on Mac OS X Lion

    Hi,
I recently upgraded to Mac OS X Lion and I am having several stability issues with Premiere Elements 9.0.1 now.  None of these issues occurred on Snow Leopard.  I experienced these issues on a machine that was upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion after Premier Elements 9.0.1 was installed and I also had problems with a Premiere Elements installation on a clean install of OS X Lion.
    I noticed the following issues:
    1) System hangs when trying to save a project.  The "save" window stays open at 100% completion.
    2) Nothing happens when dragging footage to sceneline.  The clips do show up on the timeline, though
    3) System crashed when trying to upload a video to YouTube
Could you please get these issues fixed and provide a patch for Premiere Elements?
    Thanks.

  • Need help installing plugins into Premiere Elements 11

I'm editing a music video in Premiere Elements 11, and I'm dissatified with the usual transitions. I went on the internet and found new transition plugins. The problem now is that I don't know how to import the transition plugins into Premiere Elements. I need instructions on to how to do so... If someone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it

Thanks Hunt for replying. I received the plug-ins from Filmimpact.net, and yes there are installing instructions. The picture of the instructions is posted below. The problem here is that I don't have an adobe extention manager. I have an adobe elements organizer, but no adobe extention manager. Now, I know you may say to yourself that the specific plug-ins are for Premiere Pro, but I have read that Premiere Pro plug-ins may also work on Premiere Elements and that's why I'm giving it a shot.

  • Problem with Premiere Elements 10 installation?

I have successfully installed the Photoshop Elements 10. I cannot install the Premiere Elements 10. Error message was that the installation package is not supported by the processor type, contace product vendor. My son has helped to check the specifications of my CPU etc of the PC and thought that my home PC should be OK to run the program. There appeared to be similar problems encountered by others before. Will be most grateful to hear what best to do next?

Thank you Arpit, for getting back to me. I was not specific enough before when posting my Q. My son did know the minimum system requirements and I assumed checked before his comments.  I will try to list my system spec here again to see if it does fit.
The CPU is Intel Pentium E5200 (Pentum(R) Dual-Core CPU) @2.50Ghz.
    The Caches: L1 Data 2x32Kbytes 8-way L1 inst is the same, Level 2 2048 Kbytes 8 way.
Mainboard is Dell Intel Model 0RY007, chipset Intel P35/G33/G31, BIOS Dell 1.0.15
Memory: DDR2 3072 MBytes, Dual channels, Symmetric DC Mode, DRAM Freq 332.5 MHz FSB-DRAM-3:5
SPD is DDR2, 1024 MBytes, Max bandwidth PC2-5300 (333 MHz) Nanya Technology
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series , Code RV620 Technology 55nm, Memory size 256 Mbytes, Bus Width 64 bits.
Hopefully I have copied most of the important bits here. I have very little idea what all that means. My son however thought that the system should be compatible with the program??! Is it? Or do I need a new faster computer to run the software?

  • Problems with Premiere Elements

    1. My biggest problem with Adobe Premiere Elements 10 is it closes out on me all the time. I have a windows 7 computer. When I open it up it will stay up for about a min. then it pops up Adobe premiere elements has stopped working and shuts down on me.
    2. The videos are jerky. When I go to play them they won't play smoothly. They are AVI files.
have the inspiration browser updated, I have installed quick time player, the computer is all updated, the videos are rendered. I don't know what is going on with it. It should be working.

It sounds as though these AVI files are not from a digital video camcorder.
What model of camcorder are these videos from and what resolution are they?
If they are from a still camera or smart phone that shoots in MP4/AVIs, they're not going to work in that format in Premiere Elements.
If you see a lot of red lines above your clips when you add them to your timeline, that's a pretty good indication of problems.
Is that the case in your project?
BTW, please don't start  a new thread if you're continuing to discuss the same performance problems. It makes it very difficult to follow a discussion because we're not sure what  you've already discussed and tried and what the history of your problem is.
