Install problems PS Elements 6 and OS X 10.8.2

Hi, I have my 2008 copy of Photo Shop Elements 6 and am trying to install on my 27" iMac running Mt. Lion ver 10.8.2 and I keep getting the error: "Startup Error", missing resuources... this is after I removed it from the computer to renistall it and try to get rid of the following error that appeared each time I tried to run 'Elements'... funny thing, after I would dismiss the error, Elements would load and run fine.
Now I cannot seem to install it from the original Adobe Elements disk

First, note that this is a user-to-user forum. If you want to contact Adobe, you'll need to call or write them on their main site.
That said, as the note says at the top of the forum, you're going to have to provide us a lot more information if you want us to help you. "Stopped working" doesn't tell us much. Does this mean that it was working in the past but then stopped? What stopped? What did it do that it's not doing now? What were you doing when it stopped? Was it when you were adding video to your project, for instance?
What operating system are you using? If Windows, have you manually gone to Windows Update and made sure you've got the non-critical updates, which don't download automatically to your system? Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements?
How fast is your processor, how much RAM do you have and how much free, clean, defragmented space is on your hard drive?
What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it? Did you use Premiere Elements to get the video from your camcorder to your Premiere Elements project?

for windows you should have an exe and a 7z file. put both in the same directory and double click the exe.

Installing adobe premiere elements 4 and importing video

My Dell laptop will not install Adobe Premiere Elements 4. I keep getting an Error message.
I do have Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 on my computer, but I am unable to import footage from a DVD.
I think because it is in the wrong format and I need to convert it.
To cope with this problem, I tried to install Adobe Premiere Elements 4, but it will not install.
I tried to contact Adobe Tech Support, but Tech support from Adobe is closed.
Even when it opens, I don't know if they will help.

I don't think Tech Support will help with something that old... current is version 10
My GUESS is you have Win7 and version 4 is simply too old

How to install adobe photoshop elements 12 and adobe premiere elements 12 on a computer with no cd drive?

A few months ago I bought Adobe Photoshop elements 12 and Adobe premiere elements 12 to my old laptop. But a few weeks ago I had to buy a new computer and that one has no cd drive :S How can I install my programs on my new computer?

There isn't much good news to offer. The first mention below is probably your only shot without purchase, unless you could find someone to transfer licenses with.
You won't be able to install a Windows version on the Mac unless you install some Windows emulation software on the Mac.
You won't be able to activate a Mac version of the software on the machine because your license/serial number is only valid for Windows.
CS5 is too old to qualify for a platform swap and Adobe no longer sells CS5 so you would have to take your chances with a third party vendor if you decided to purchase a Mac version.
Just to clarify, there is no such thing as a student version of the software... the license dictates the status of the software. So you won't be able to find a student version either

Downloading/Installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10

I have tried multiple times to download this program. It came with 5 discs. I have downloaded the first disc and when I go to do the second one it wants me to uninstall the first disc. How can I install all 5 discs? I'm downloading on Windows Vista.

I am operating on Windows Vista. Disc 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 say Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10. It just says 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5... and so on. But on the directions you upload all the discs in order.

I located my code in my account (in order to install Adobe photoshop elements 13) and received an error code stating my code was invalid. I cannot locate my new serial number.

Where are the links so I can re-install a Photoshop Elements 11 and Premier Elements 11?

I had to replace my hard drive and now I need to reinstall these, but I have looked all over the place and can't find the links. I finally called in and a rep helped me, but when I rebooted my computer the downloads were gone. Does anybody know where the links are so I can re-install Photoshop Elements 11 and Premier Elements 11?

Crash problem with elements 10 and mac mini lion 10.7.3

since i download element 10 into mac mini lion10.7.3 my system crashing all the time. i re installed adobe nothing happend. only solition so far shut down the mac and resart it again. and thats give me another 30 min fast work.
i tried CS4 AND CS5 had same problem.
does anyone know an answer?

Working with Photoshop can tax a system, and if there are weak links, as Chris Cox alludes to, that can push the computer over the edge. It is not that the program (PSElements in this case) is "causing" the problem, only that it is revealing the weakness, where other programs, say e-mail reader, Web browser, wordprocessor, etc., will not tax the computer enough to point out the problem.
I agree with Chris in that it sounds like you have a hardware issue, such as a bad stick of RAM. That might not get used with regular computing tasks, but then PSE needs more RAM, so suddenly that stick is put into use.
There are several RAM test software programs (some better than others, and often by a great margin), but I do not know what is available for a Mac. Maybe others will have a rec. for you. Also, Chris has commented on some PC RAM test software, and does not like some of those applications, so if he recommends something for the Mac, go with his recs, as he knows what he's talking about.
Good luck, and wish that I had more to offer. I have several articles on tracking down hardware and OS errors, but all are for the PC, and hence, of little use here - sorry.

How to prepare for install of Premiere Elements 10 and Photoshop 10

HI everyone - just rec'd the disks and want to prepare my pc as best as possible before installing. I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows 7 64 bit
8gb ram, 640 gb hard drive
Performace info tells me:
intel core i5 CPU M 480 @ 2.67 GHz, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370,
GAming graphics - 3571 MB total available graphics memory, dedicated graphics memory is 512 mb
Primary Hard disk 387 GB free
performace score is 5.0
I have run Advanced System Care5, spybot search and destroy, malwarebytes anit-malware, AVG free and everything looks good.
Any other suggestions to run or check beofre I do the install? I am trying to prevent any issues like I've had with Pinnacle Studio Ulitmate 14 and Windows MM in the past - virtual memory problems(with MM) and lots of crashes (with Pinnacle)....

Add at least a 2nd 7200rpm hard drive for your video files
My 3 hard drives are configured as...
1 - 320Gig Boot for Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320Gig data for Win7 swap file and video project files
When I create a project on #2 drive, the various work files follow,
so my boot drive is not used for the media cache folder and files
3 - 1Terabyte data for all video files... input & output files (*)
(*) for 4 drives, drive 3 all source files & drive 4 all output files

Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing

A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... Problems with elements 13 and uploading to Facebook and costco Photo center

I have had this problem for months since I started using the software. Above help on chat tells ne they are not trained on elements 13 so they cannot help - but wasted 4 hours of my time trying to fix this. Adobe has worst support of any company I know of.

Memory problem with Elements 8 and Windows 7

Hi,
I have a copy of Elements 8 running on Windows 7. When I open the organiser a large amount of RAM (about 1 GB) is grabbed by a SVCHost process. The memory assosiated with the SVCHost builds up over time. When I close the application the memory is not released. It can get realy bad if I run it over night.
I have started going in and killing the process as it can effect the performance of my PC depending on what else I have running at the time.
Anyone got any ideas why this might be happening and how can I stop it. I thought it might be connected with the face recognition feature or the auto analyze cataloging feature but I have turned both of these features off in the preferences control panel.
Any ideas would be welcome, thanks in advance.

Problem with Elements 5 and DNG 5.4 converter.

Never been in this forum, but in a photo site that i do participate they told me i could ask it here...So, can anyone tell me if the new dng converter-5.4, convert dng files that cannot be open in photoshop elements 5? The previous version converted raw from panasonic G1 fine(but turned the files into 40MB ones)...now it converts into 12mb files, but photoshop is not opening them....Thanks a lot for any inputs...

For some camera models, setting the Compatibility popup to an older version of Camera Raw will force it to convert the file to linear mode (a fully demosaiced image), so that an older version of Camera Raw will be able to open the image. If this happens, the resulting DNG file is larger than it would otherwise be, and you lose the ability to take advantage of newly developed demosaic algorithms, which might result in better results in the future.
So don't set the Compatibility popup to a version lower than you need to. Unless you are in the habit of installing older and older versions of Adobe software as time goes on, I don't see any reason to worry about future compatibility.
