Install PSUS4 on Windows 7 (64 bit)

Hi
Here is how it worked for me:
Forget the CD that comes with the product, you don't need it.
Hook up the PSUS4 to network cable, printer, and power it all up.
Now you need to connect to the PSUS4 in order to configure it, and we do that using Internet Explorer (or whatever browser you use).
In order to connect to it, you need to find out the network IP address of the PSUS4 (since you will type that address in the Internet browser address). How do we find out the IP address of the PSUS4?
The PSUS4 has been factory configured to do DHCP, meaning it will request an IP address (to a router) in your network.
How do you find out what address was given to it? You need to access your network router first.
In order to access your router, you need the IP address of your router. Look it up in the documentation that comes with your router. You dont have the docs at hand? Good guess: it could very well be: > 192.168.1.1 < Type whats between the brackets in the address line of your IE and there you go.
Now your router may have access prohibited with username and password. Thats not so easy, google the router, like: "netgear password router" and you will probably find the default password there. Replace Netgear with the router make that you have.
Once inside the router menu, locate "Attached devices" or similar, and find the addresses that the router has provided to devices on your network. You should find your own PC to start with, and other network devices that you may have, and of course, the PSUS4 should be listed. WIthout a network name by the way, you have to guess which one will be the PSUS4.
Now you close the browser session to the router, and you will access the PSUS4 by typing its IP address in the Internet Explorer browser address line.
Change the network settings of the PSUS4 (tab "protocol", select "tcpip") and highlight "Use the following IP address" Type the IP address that you already used to access the PSUS4. Why change it to fixed? We want a fixed IP address for the PSUS4, and not one that will be different after some time (the router may provide a new IP address after some time!!!). Subnet mask must be 255.255.255.0 and gateway must be the IP address of your router (that is the address you used to access the router with Internet Explorer when we started the quest, in my case 192.168.1.1).
Remove "NetBEUI" and "Apple Talk" if you do not use these protocols
DO NOT forget to hit "save" at the bottom of your screen...
Tab "printer": leave all to printer port USB1. Now EXIT the PSUS4.
Get back to Windows 7 and get into the Computer Configuration screen where you select configuring printers
Select "Add a new printer"
Choose "network printer", then dont wait but select "printer is not in the list"
Add printer using TCP/IP address
Type: select "TCP/IP"; next type the PSUS4 IP address and let the port-name be LP1
Make sure that the protocol is "LPR" and queue name is LP1, and activate "LPR bytecount"
Leave SNMP unactivated
That should do the job. Good luck, hope I have not made any typeo's or mistakes...
This worked for my PC and for the wireless netbook that my wife uses.

I have an old PSUS4 and a Samsung ML-2010R.  Both work perfectly so my issues are mostly with getting them to work each time I step up to the next Microsoft OS.  The post by wdboer helped me get my Windows 7 32-bit PC connected to my printer over the LAN and via the PSUS4 so many thanks to wdboer.
I upgraded to a 64-bit PC with Windows 8 and followed the same instructions and used the Universal Printer Driver downloaded from Samsung but all I got was the printer to 'wake up' but it printed nothing (a direct USB cable connection worked fine).  I finally got the printer to work by;
1. Windows 8 Control Panel
2. Device and Printers
3. Right click on the newly installed printer
4. Click on the Device Options tab
5. Selecting the Printer Model drop down and selecting Samsung ML-2010 Series followed by Apply
When I went back to the General Tab and clicked on Print Test Page, the printer woke up and printed the test page
Cheers, R

  • Install iCloud on Windows 7 64 bit

Can't install iCloud on Windows 7 64 bit system due to iCloud control panel installer only having 32 bit installer for Bonjour

Microsoft have come up with a solution
    It's called Microsoft Fixit
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
It allowed me to uninstall Bonjour with the standard Control Panel Uninstall could not (I got the same error message as the OP; I also got the same error message when trying to upgrade iTunes to 10.5.3)
With Bonjour uninstalled using Fixit, I upgraded iTunes successfully, then installed the iCloud Control Panel.
If you are trying to install new Apple software on your Windows 7 64 bit PC and are getting error messages that suggest a problem with Bonjour - especially ones that imply the installer needs to be 64 and not 32 bit, then you will not get anywhere without installing Bonjour first, either using Control Panel or failing that in this way.
Trying Administrator privileges will not work.

  • How to install itune under Windows XP 64-bit professional with SP2?

I have iPhone 3GS for over a year and I have set it up at my work computer (Windows XP professional) with latest iTune and it work great. Recently our IT has upgraded our system and all of our new machines has Windows XP 64-bit OS.
I can't figure out how to install iTune under Windows XP 64-bit, to synch with my e-mail, contact and calendars any more?
    Can any one help?

New machines? With XP 64-bit? Your IT department is being rather foolish, in my opinion, deploying new installations of XP 64 since Microsoft discontinued mainstream support for it (more than two years ago) and it's never really been satisfactory.
Anyway, there is no version of iTunes that supports the 64-bit version of Windows XP and almost certainly never will be. If you search the iTunes for Windows forums for "XP 64" you'll find threads describing the process some people have used to "crowbar" iTunes onto XP 64, with varying levels of success, none of them complete. Connecting to iPhones is one of the most problematic issues.
    Regards.

  • TS3212 I get a side-by-side error when trying to install iTunes to Windows 7 64-bit???

When trying to install iTunes to Windows 7 64-bit, I get a side-by-side error. Has anyone else seen this problem and were you able to resolve installing iTunes? If so, how did you resolve it?

    Hi
    Hope you are fine there!
recommend that you attempt to resolve this issue by uninstalling iTunes and QuickTime, and then reinstalling the latest version of each. To do this, first ensure that you are logged in to an Administrator user account on your computer, then follow the instructions in the appropriate article:

There isn't such a thing. If you are talking about the free Adobe Reader, you are at the right forum, but if your problem is with Adobe Acrobat Pro, you should post here:

In any case, I suggest that you explain what "crashing" means in your case, including any error messages.

  • Why doesn't 64 bit iTunes install on my Windows 7 64 bit PC?

Why doesn't 64 bit iTunes install on my Windows 7 64 bit PC?   I can download the 64-bit installer from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1427
But after I run the installer, I get an error message stating that the installer is for 32 bit machines and that I should download and install the 64 bit installer instead.  (Been there, done that, using two different browsers for the download.)  Why would I get such a message when my PC is 64 bit O/S and the iTunes installer purports to be for that type of PC?
    Please help,
    -Bruce

When you get on the download page scroll down on the left hand side there is 64bit version.  I installed it. But the thing I can't work out is in task manger says 32bit

  • When updating iTunes to 11.4 I get the following error:  "Files Shared by these updates" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed. Running Windows 7 64-bit.

When updating iTunes to 11.4 I get the following error:  "Files Shared by these updates" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed. Running Windows 7 64-bit.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • I install iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit, it opens, it crashes

The subject says it all, pretty much.
    - I install the latest iTunes (downloaded 01/31/2014)
    - I open it, then go to iTunes store, and it hangs itself after login
    OR
    - I open it, then close it, then hold SHIFT and double-click, as I want the library on a separate drive. I can select the drive, but in the meantime, the program hangs itself. In this case, onlt for about 30 minutes. Then it asks if I want to see the tutorials. I try to close it. It's been running in this state for over 8 hours now.
I've tried uninstalling everything related to itunes, even removing all files from the registry. Each time I install, I get the same result. I have not prior install history left on this PC, as no install had been ever authorized when I had it on this machine for a few days back 3-4 months ago. The machine I used before has been repurposed, and doesn't have the software anymore... But it's also Windows 7 64-bit
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When I run the iTunes64setup.exe it says: "The thingy is not a valid win32 application."
That generally indicates that the installer has been getting damaged on the download.
What web browser have you been using for downloading the iTunes64Setup.exe? Does it make any difference if you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa)?
