Problem installing both 8.1.7 with 6i reports
I am installing 8.1.7.0 with patch 4 onto windows 2000 , after i am installing reports 6i into the same machine.
apparently when i install 6i , it interferes with a software program called EZACCESS where i loss it path..
ezaccess does use oracle for its backend.
appears that they both don't want to exist on the same machine. If i don't install 6i, the software is fine.
any advise to install 8.1.7 and 6i regarding %oracle home%
would be appreciated.
ElleryHi,
Try installing developer 6i in diffrent oracle home.
Hope this will help you.

Unable to install Report Viewer 2012
As part of the SCOM console install I need to install Report Viewer 2012. To install Report Viewer 2012 I need to have Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012.
I have installed all versions of CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 that I can find. But I still am not able to install Report Viewer 2012. It errors out when checking for CLR Types for SQL Server 2012.
I have tried every variation of report viewer (2008,2010,20120) and CLR Types for SQL Server (32bit/64bit). I am just not able to install report viewer so I can install the SCOM console.Go to the link below
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35580
and then select SQLSysClrTypes. You don't need all the files.
Did this multiple times with the same result. After installing the ClrTypes the Report Viewer still indicates that it is failing that requirement. -

Required components for Forms&Reports 11.1.2 with SSO support
Hi.
Dont know if this is the right forum but I would like to know if any of you has an experience in integrating Forms&Reports 11.1.2 with Oracle Access manager.
I am in process of upgrading Oracle Forms&Reports 10g configured to use single sign-on to 11.1.2 with Identity and Access management for SSO support. As I read the installation manual I got confused by how to integrate Forms&reports with Access manager to be able to configure it to use single sign-on with MS Active Directory authentication. I am not sure is there enough just to install Access Manager or the installation also requires Identity Management component.
I would appreciate if one could point me to the right direction. Thanks.
Best regards.I recommend starting with baby steps. First ensure that the FMw installation is working. Can you run a form, and report, and so on. Then add single-signon with OAM. Verify that it is working. Then add AD support. If you try to dive directly into making AD work and something before this step wasn't working, you will have a difficult time troubleshooting.
Generally speaking, if you have OAM and SSO installed prior to installing FMw, connecting the two is fairly easy because the FMw installation will prompt you during the process. However, even after the fact, linking up can be done from within the EM console even though some external steps may be needed. Once this is working, they you can investigate adding AD to the mix.
If you already have OAM installed, you are ready to dive into the Forms Deployment Guide.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/doc.11120/e24477/sso.htm
This part of the Deployment Guide will cover things like, which versions of the Identity Management components can be used with Forms/Reports 11.1.2. It will also discuss the functional information need in order to understand how it all works together. Also included are instructions on how to connect the FMw installation to sso. Be careful as you read any of the documents as it is easy to get confused when seeing references to "SSO". In some cases, the term "sso" means single signon and in others it is referring to the product, "Oracle SSO".
Information about using Active Directory is scattered around the IM documentation, but this is probably a good place to start:

How do I install a version of vim with Python support?
I'm trying to install a version of vim with Python support, but for some reason I can't seem to find anything useful when I search.
So far I've found posts that say arch doesn't have one built with Python support, and use this <broken link> AUR package. I've search AUR for "vim python" which turned up nothing. There *does* exist extra/gvim-python3, but when I install that, then vim (not gvim) still tells me "Error: Required vim compiled with +python"
This search:
https://duckduckgo.com/?t=lm&q=arch+lin … on+support
Provides:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p1070281 - Only a link to a bug report
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1144210 - Post with the 404'd AUR link
What I finally found was this Gist with directions on using the ABS:
https://gist.github.com/MicahElliott/3048622
Ultimately you'll have to change the particular tar.xz files you use in the pacman -U steps, but this should get you vim with Python enabled.I have downloaded vim by cloning The Vim Mercurial repository.
hg clone https://vim.googlecode.com/hg/ ~/bin/vim_bin
Then i have a this script to install it in my own ~/bin/ dir.
#!/bin/bash
cd /home/myuser/bin/vim_bin/src
echo "---Configure----"
./configure --prefix=/usr --localstatedir=/var/lib/vim \
--with-features=big --with-compiledby="Custom Vim insall" \
--enable-gpm --enable-acl --with-x=no \
--disable-gui --enable-multibyte --enable-cscope \
--enable-netbeans --enable-perlinterp \
--enable-rubyinterp --enable-luainterp \
--enable-pythoninterp --with-python-config-dir=/usr/lib/python2.7/config \
--enable-python3interp --with-python3-config-dir=/usr/lib/python3.4/config > my_log
echo "=== Make ==="
make >> my_log
echo "==== Install ===="

Error TF255050 when attempting to install reporting services in TFS 2013 in-place upgrade.
Hi,
Last week we performed an in-place upgrade of our TFS 2012 server to TFS 2013. During the upgrade process all went well until we hit reporting. After placing the reporting server's name in the input and click populate URLs we get the TF255050
error. We are running a dual tier setup, the reporting server is on a different server than tfs. (Though the tfs database and the reporting database share the server).
Myself and my partner did a lot of digging on here and have tried most everything we could find to no avail.
-We have ensured myself(installer) and the tfs service account are local admins on both machines
-Sql client connectivity tools are installed
-WMI seems configured correctly when compared to other resolutions to this issue others have posted
note: this site
ProBlog on artiso.com was mentioned in several posts as part of a resolution but is a broken link.
-I can connect to the reporting services manager from the tfs server without a problem, as both myself and the tfs service.
-I've followed suggestions mentioned in this post (ERROR (TF255050)
while configuring Reporting Services)
-I've also looked into windows logs on both machines and really seen nothing useful. We do know that we can successfully talk to sql server though, as the TFS 2013 install already did so.
I could really use some direction/help on the issue.
ThanksHi Kyleco,
Thanks for your post.
Your TFS 2013’s SQL Server instance and the Reporting Server installed on the same machine?
On your TFS 2013 Server machine, open the SQL Server Management Studio and try connect to your Reporting Server, ensure can connect successfully.
You didn’t configure the Reporting Server for your TFS 2012 Server? If yes, we suggest you in-place upgrade to TFS 2013 Server first, then manually configure the Reporting Server for your TFS 2013 Server:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa905871%28SQL.110%29.aspx
and the error that i'm facing is -->
SSRSCustomActionError: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.SharePoint.Common, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
i've checked in windows\assembly folder and the Microsoft.ReportingServices.SharePoint.Common version is 11.0.0.0
so, i have a newer version then i need?
what can i do?
DaveHello.
After having the same issue like you in a recently installed SahrePoint 2013 SP1 farm, and using the information I found in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa905871%28v=sql.110%29.aspx, I traced with the tool procmon the operation, and finally solved
the problem after discovering a little bug.
These were the steps I performed:
1.- I installed "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 RS Add-in for SharePoint" with the command
Msiexec.exe /i rsSharePoint.msi SKIPCA=1
2.- I executed PROCMON ...creating a filter of include the Process Name "rsCustomAction.exe"
3.- I executed a elevated Command Prompt, and going to %temp% folder (in my case C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp), executed rsCustomAction.exe /i
4.- After execute this command I obtained in the Command Prompt the error:
C:\INSTALL\RS>rsCustomAction.exe /i

2014-09-29 08:59:26: SSRSCustomActionError: The system cannot find the file specified
5.- Tracing the results in PROCMON, I discovered an extrange issue: The installation was looking for the command PSCONFIG.exe but in a in a folder different than standard.
The installation was look for PSCONFIG in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN\BIN
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\BIN
...instead C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN or C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN
So... the solution which worked for me was to create C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN\BIN and place here PSCONFIG.EXE and PSCONFIG.EXE.CONFIG obtained from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\15\BIN
After doing it, the "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 RS Add-in for SharePoint" was installed fine as you can see en the next Command Prompt capture:
C:\INSTALL\RS>rsCustomAction.exe /i

How to Install crystal run time programs with out designer.
Can anyone suggest me how to install crystal run time program with out installing entire designer software.
Is it coming along with CR software package, which we have to do custom install or is it coming as a different package.
Currently my client is using only the run time programs to trigger crystal report from VB app but developers have installed entire software for development. We need to figure out how this install can be done, as it was done long time before and folks who have done it left the company.
Any suggestion on this would be of great help to me.See this wiki:

Does Crystal Report XI R2 comes with Crystal Data Object (CDO)
Hi,
Does anyone knows if installation of crystal reports include Crystal Data Object (CDO) ? From the article(http://www.dataaccess.com/kbasepublic/KBPrint.asp?ArticleID=2183) it seems like it doesn't comes with the standard installation package in Crystal Report XI R2. Please advise. Thanks =)
Regards. You need to pick "Crystal Data Objects" from the list of Data Access options offered by Crystal Reports when you are installing it -- that item is not selected by default.
To add that to your machine:
- Open Add/Remove Programs
- Select Crystal Reports 11 and click on the Change button
- Expand the tree under "Data Access"
- Select "Crystal Data Objects" and click on it
- Select it to be installed -- you will probably need your Crystal Reports CD to proceed with the installation.
