Install SAP client got error license server is unavailable
Dear All,
Our client is on SAP88 PL21, SQL2008, Win Server 2008
The workstation is windows7.
After the user reboot her computer (No error about anything. Not because of Windows Update she aware
of. She just felt the computer is slow. So she reboot the computer), SAP cannot connect. After she
click choose company, SAP said no responding.
I create ODBC connection from the workstation to the server. It works fine.
Then I de-active UAC. Turn off firewall. Same issue.
Next I remove SAP client.
Then install.
One of the screen is asking license server. I entered SAP server name. Got error (license server is unavailable). Then I entered IP address of the server. Got error. Attached is the error message. License server is unavailable.
Check your license server name and port.
This is the only workstation has issue. She can login from other computer by using her SAP user no
problem. I checked SAP note 1142479 Connection with license server failed /TAO NT Naming Service.
But it doesn't look like our case. I also research on SAP portal. I cannot find any helpful document
since her case is, after reboot cannot connect to SAP license server. And she said, nothing changed
on her computer.
I got an answer from SAP. They asked me open port 30000, 30001, 1433 on both server and workstation. I know we need to open 30000, 30001, 1433 on the server. But I am not too sure why we need to open 30000, 30001, 1433 on workstation? We already deactive firewall on workstation. We've never did this for any workstation. Thanks.
Regards,
Yuka
Hi,
If they dont want to reinstall the whole OS you may try using Terminal License or
Remote Desktop Connection to run the program since your SAP client installation is a failure.
Or you may try to use VMWare to connect but consumes RAM and resources in your computer.
Thats the remaining options you have if you dont want to reinstall your OS.

Clint

I have attached the screenshot of the same.Hi,
Me too faced the same issue
Open regedit find for SAP
Dont forget to check match whole string only. And click find.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE--> Software --> Wow6432node--> SAP

Error License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_INTERNAL
Having problems trying to download Cicerone Guide books I have purchased as epub books. Adobe Digital editions continues to give error "License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_INTERNAL - tried deauthorising 10 times and have followed all suggestions in other forums but nothing works. Please help.
I got the same error with 2 ebooks I purchased yesterday on Google Play. ("Gods of Risk" and "The Butcher of Anderson Station" by James S.A. Corey.) I had previously purchased 6 ebooks on Google Play without problem.
It wasn't a problem with my computer (I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 and had not used ADE yet). It's a problem with Google.
Yesterday, I asked a refund from books.google.com, then I saw I could also ask a refund when reporting a problem on Google Play, so I did this too. I got an immediate refund from Google Play.
Then I bought both ebooks on Kobo.com.
Today, I had an email from Google Play Support:
I apologize for the disruption this issue has caused in your reading experience. Please note we are aware of the problem and working to fix it as quickly as possible.
While I can't provide an exact date as to when it will be fixed, I will email you as soon as I have an update.
I've been buying ebooks for 14 years, from (now known as) eReader, Fictionwise, Bean Books, O'Reilly and Manning. I never had a problem until yesterday.
I really hate DRM, and I really despise publishers that buy in the fear, uncertainty, doubt and disinformation. And I hate Adobe even more.
But it's that, or never buying fiction ebooks anymore. (Thankfully, publishers in the tech industry don't use DRM.)
Some day, publishers will go the way of the music industry, which now sells MP3 without DRM. Meanwhile, they can't but continue to alienate their customers. -
After install SAP client, the language is Germany
Dear All,
After we installed SAP client, the language is Germany. Sometimes is Greek, or any other language except English. Could anybody let me know why? Does it related to the language settings of the local PC or on the server? Thanks a lot.

MikeHi,
check whether port 21200 is not used by other application,
use start -> run-> cmd
and enter netstat -ano to identify port used by services.

License Error: License server general failure
Hi All,
I have a very strange problem on my computer. Since this morning I cannot open SBO as I get the error License Error : 100000000 License Server General Failure. I have uninstalled the full SBO including deleted all my SBO databases and the SBO-COMMON database. I then deleted my SAP folder in Program Files, restarted my PC and reinstalled SBO... still the same error. Error is just after I click OK on the login window. License Manager seems to be working fine and license also loaded fine.
Also just wanted to say that my license did not expire (or I don't think so) as I checked my file license text file and it looks like Compatibility License for Add-ons expires 20080115 and the rest of the users 99991231.
Any help appreciated!
AdeleAdele, just try to load once again your license file
What i have done is cut a little my license file, check 'Write to log' option, and tried to load this damaged file.
What i've received is:
1. 'General error occured' message box
2. ...SBOLicense\SBOLog.txt file with the following content:

Tips to install Sap Gui On Windows Terminal Server 2003
Does anybody know any method to install SapGui on Windows Terminal Server 2003 to share it to many users ?
The problem is: when I try to install Sap Gui 6.40 via Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs it tells me that I must change the mode with "change user /install". I dont know the reason why it reports me that if I do it via Control Panel. And if I do that and then I launch the installation again it reports me the warning again.
What should I do ?
Thanks in advance for your help.We have SAP R3 4.6C.
We want to optimize the bandwidth in a 802.11b radio. Because of that we dont want to run any application in the hand-held.
We'll intend to launch a remote desktop on a dozen hand-helds connecting the Windows 2003 Terminal Services server. In this server we could run SAP GUI, WebSapconsole or the browser.
Its important to note that the hand-held computers must only show the designed windows (sized to 16x20), removing title bars, transaction bar, menu bars, tool bars, status bars, etc. For this purpouse I think we can use WebSapconsole.
With this method we have noticed that when a error or warning is displayed it hides some part of the screen instead of presenting in the status bar.
I hope you all your doubts are clear now, if not just tell me.
Thank you.
PS. Sorry for my english. -
Server 2009 R2 Stuck Installing Updates and Unexpected Error Refreshing Server Manager
I have a 2008 R2 server that is running but has issues when restarting or trying to install IE 10. I ran the System Readiness Tool and it fixed a number of issues but there are 5 remaining errors in the Component store that will not repair automatically.
They are:

I tried to run a SFC but if failed because there is a repair operation that needs a reboot. When rebooting, the server tries to install a number of updates but the update fail and the server backs them out and then comes up. It goes through this
loop every restart. There is a pending.xml file that has much in it and I will copy at the end of this post.
I moved the pending.xml out of the winsxs folder and tried to run the SFC again and now it fails with: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation".
Checking windows updates shows that the IE 10 upgrade for Server 2008 R2 failed a number of times. I tried to manually install it and it fails. I was going to go to the server manager and see if I could disable IE and then re-enable it (this
has worked on W7 pcs in the past) but the Server manager aborts with "Unexpected Error refreshing Server Manager: Catastrophic failure (Exception from HResult: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED)).
The details of the pending.xml is 32MB but here is an initial snipet:

Install CS2 from link - Error Activation Server Unavailable
I've downloaled CS2 for Windows from the link in "Error: Activation Server Unavailable" but when I run the setup .exe its asking for cd 2 to be loaded! - "Cd 2" seems to the problem - I've checked the size and it appears to be correct (I've re-downloaded it 3 times!).
Has any one else had this issue?
Only solution Adobe can suggest is to buy CS6!I was told the CS2 is old software by the Adobe Help Desk and it is no longer supported so the only real option is to upgrade to CS6.
Our Company policy is to us Microsoft IE 8 so I don't really have the option to download using a different browser. Especially when you don't say which one! It appears to download correctly as the files are the same size as the orginals.
I have tried installing CS2 on a fresh computer running Win XP and I get the same issue.
Its still asking for CD2!
Obviously I'm doing some thing wrong but there are no real instructions apart from the download.
I've been running the "CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe" first - the files are extracted then ot lauches the install... then asks for CD2! Then there no other option but to cancel the install.
I then run CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe then CreativeSuiteDisc3.exe.
Then run the setup.exe. Check all componets to be installed then it installs CD1 then it asks for CD2. If I just check just check Illustrator and Photoshop, it will install these ok as it only uses CD1 and CD3. Well... 2 out of an't bad!
I have tried running in reverse order - CD3, 2 then 1 ... still the same issue!
Any suggestions welcome! -

Certificate Enroll Errors RPC Server Is Unavailable
I have a scenario in which I would like some advice before moving on. We have a Server 2012 root CA that was put in about a year-year and a half ago and at the same time there was another 2008 R2 root CA that was installed on a DC that was hosting FSMO roles.
Well that DC started to die so we transferred the FSMO roles and removed certificate services. However, we only uninstalled the role but as I understand, there is a bit of cleanup to do in AD beyond just removing the role. So when we started to perform the
first step, I noticed remnants of old servers that are no longer around. I've discovered that our previous admin had made 3 other servers (I believe all 2003) that have all completely gone away and yet are still listed in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities
on all computers and I find in the event log the following error when I log in to our domain machines of them trying to contact each of the old CA servers:
Certificate enrollment for Local system failed to enroll for a Machine certificate with request ID N/A from server.domain.org\server (The RPC server is unavailable. 0x800706ba (WIN32: 1722)).
Now I have no way of knowing whether or not this admin actually properly removed the role before decommissioning these servers and I have no idea why we needed so many servers to be root CA's in the first place? Anyhow, I was wondering if the proper procedure
would be to remove the root trusted certs from group policy and then clean up the remnant entries in AD as described in the Microsoft documentation of removing a root CA from your environment. I still see some errors and machines requesting to check for stuff
like CRL with the most recent root CA that we removed so I just wanted to check to see if all of these errors will go away once we finish the cleanup and if there is anything special that needs to be done for the potentially orphaned root CA's. We did take
a backup of the 2008R2 CA (the one that was on the dying DC) before we removed the role and I have confirmed that our production CA (the one that we would like to remain in production - is a sub CA of an offline root) has already issued new machine and DC
certs to our domain machinese and domain controllers.
Sorry for the lengthy post. Please let me know if any more information is required and thank you in advance!Hello,
the root CA normally is the first one in a forest issuing the certificates for the subordinate CAs if required or for certificates.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731183.aspx
SO there is no need for multiple root CAs.
To get rid of everything old and be sure the CA is configured correct for your needs I suggest to ask this in
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/home?forum=winserversecurity
