Install SAP Oracle cliente Sw in a Win64 Bit+sql DB+ Kernel 6.2+BW 3.1 Ver

Hello,
I am trying to find for a while the SAP software that will allow a plataform Win 64 Bit + DB MsSQL+ Kernel 6.20+ BW 3.1 SW installed to make possible by a transaction in BW SAP Logon GUI execute a connection to a Oracle 9i Database external to the BW machine and Software.
The "dbcon" transaction cannot be the one used but the "rsa1" transaction with the configuration of the BD Oracle entry in the tnsnames.ora file existing in the machine where BW is running.
I've download the ORACLE 9i 64 Bit Client from the Oracle site but I still need to install a software that should be a library/Dll wich will allow the SAP kernel 6.20 to interface with the BW software.
Could anyone help me and indicate where in the SAP Service Market Place is this SAP Oracle 9i Client for a Windows 64Bit machine?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
Sílvia Cardoso

Hello Silvia:
I know you can download the client tools on the Oracle site:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/index.html
You need to register, but it's free though
Otherwise, if you licensed SAP with Oracle, on market place you'll get the Oracle DVD's. Inside those, run the Oracle Installer and instead of installing the DBMS, choose to install only client tools
Greetings
Alejandro.

  • 32-bit Oracle client on Windows 7 64-bit?

    Hi,
I have a Windows 7 64-bit OS and need to install an Oracle client on this machine. Instead of installing a 64-bit client, I would like to install a 32-bit client and was wondering if this is possible and compatible on a 64-bit machine? The reason I would prefer to install a 32-bit client is because i have a 32-bit version of TOAD and apparently this doesnt work with a 64-bit client.
I have downloaded the following files:
    Oracle Database 10g Client Release 2 (10.2.0.3) -> 10203_vista_w2k8_x86_production_client.zip
    patchset 10.2.0.5 (for Windows 7 compatibility) -> p8202632_10205_WINNT.zip
Are these the correct files I have downloaded? Thanks.

    Hi,
    What about trying these samples..
    test =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = your machine name )(PORT = 1521)) )
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = your database sid) )
    test1 =
    (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = your machine name )(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = your database sid) (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    test2 =
    (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = your machine name )(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = your database sid) (SERVER = DEDICATED)
Test all of them using tnsping before you use them..

  • Oracle Client version (32 or 64 bit) to install on a Windows 2008 64-bit m/

    Hi guys,
      I am installing BOXI 3.1 SP2 on a Windows 2008 64-bit server.
Which Oracle 10g client (32 or 64 bit) should I install on a 64-bit software. I know BO is native 32 bit, so ODBCs should be 32 bit incase CMS repositories are on SQL server.
Is there a standard for Business Objects for the versions of database client tools to be installed on server?
Also can we install database clients tools after the Business Objects 3.1 SP2 install on the server, provided I am using SQL server dbs for CMS and Audit databases?
    Thanks,

    @Duncan
You recommend using 32 bit Oracle client. Is there any official documents from SAP BO stating this? I have difficulties finding anything. I'm in the same situation:
    OS : Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit
    BO : 32bit
    Oracle Client : 32bit OR 64bit?????
Is BO 32bit compatible with Oracle Client 64bit, at the level of using Infoview/Desktop Intelligence?

  • Installing Latest Oracle Client & ODT for Windows 7 64-bit

I have a Windows 7 64-bit. I would think that using 32-bit Java, 32-bit Oracle Client and 32-bit ODAC would work just fine on this operating system. However, I had no luck getting it to run. Here is what I did and a few reasons why I prefer to never work with Oracle products:
    Installed 32-bit JDK/JRE (1.6 Update 25)
    Installed 32-bit Oracle Client (11g R2) Home 1
Tested connectivity from SQL Developer successfully
Installed 32-bit ODT (11g R3) to Home 1 (installer noted upgrades and new installs)
Failed connectivity from all things windows (ODBC, ADO, ADO.Net)
    Uninstalled 32-bit ODT
Failed to uninstall 32-bit Oracle Client Home 1 (oraparam.ini file missing among other issues)
    Installed 32-bit Oracle Client (11g R2) Home 2
Failed to uninstall 32-bit Oracle Client Home 1 (told to use deinstall tool)
Failed to uninstall 32-bit Oracle Client Home 2 (told to use deinstall tool)
Failed to run uninstall tool in Home 1 (told to download standalone deinstall tool)
Uninstalled 32-bit Oracle Client Home 2 (completed successfuly with errors - seriously?)
Uninstalled 32-bit Oracle Client Home 1 (completed successfully, but couldn't delete folder)
Oracle.DataAccess and Oracle.Web are still installed in GAC. Uninstall attempts fail (access denied)
    Installed 32-bit Oracle Client (11g R2) Home 1
Tested connectivity from SQL Developer successfully
Tested connectivity from .Net 3.5 successfully (using 32-bit 2.0 dll)
Tested connectivity from .Net 4.0 successfully (using 32-bit 2.0 dll)
Does anyone have any suggestions on getting Oracle Data Tools for Windows to work before I try that again?

I realize ODT uses ODP, but installing release 3 upgraded the .Net 2.0 ODP DLLs (which were installed from the Oracle Client 11g Release 2 install) and added the .Net 4.0 DLLs. After that install everything stopped working from Windows land and then it took the better part of two hours to get it back to what it looked like prior to the install. The other thing weird thing I noticed is that although Oracle.DataAccess is registered in the 2.0 GAC I cannot add a reference that way using VS2010. I have to manually add a reference to the file path. Although it still appears I do not have to have the assembly copied locally to run, so the GAC registration seems to be working in that regard.

  • Anyone installed the Oracle client software on MBP?

    Hi there,
I'm running into problems installing the Oracle 10g client software (not the server) on my macbook Pro (Intel)
The instant client installs fine, but it doesn't have the tools I need (sqlldr, imp, exp). During the install the installer gives me a java UnsatifiedLinkError.
Any thoughts? Sorry if I've missed a previous thread on this, but searches turned up nothing.

So do u mean if we have SQLPLUS on the box, it implies that client tools are installed ?
and the SQLPLUS.exe is the one that indicates the existance of client tools on a box and this has to be present on the box to say that the clinet tools are installed.
Can we have client tools on the box with out SQLPLUS.?

  • Preinstall check failed - Unable to install SAP HANA Client

    Hi all,
Recently I had to format my system and after loading the Windows 8 I downloaded the SAP HANA Client, SAP HANA Studio and SAP HANA JDBC Drivers for re-distribution from https://hanadeveditionsapicl.hana.ondemand.com/hanadevedition/ into the default folder which is C:Programfiles:SAP HANA Client and Studio
I installed the client and then the studio and then clicked on the executable ngdbc.jar file and clicked on ok.
Then I went to SAP HANA 70 client win32 folder and clicked on the hdbsetup to load client. I am getting the following error:
    Preinstall check failed
SDB::Install::System::getMountPointWin: Malformed file path normalization: "ngdbc.jar"
Can any one please explain what this error is and how do I fix this error. I searched in the forum but could not find anything related to this error.
    Thank you.
    Regards
    Pavan.

I am posting the results of my issues here, to be sure this is documented.
    Close all applications
Uninstall SAP/b1 and all related components
    Delete folder X:\Program Files\sap
    Delete folder X:\Program Files (x86)\sap
Open REGEDIT and clean out all parent keys where "HANA" appears
    Install the SAP/b1 client first!
Run the HANA Client installation "...as Administrator"
When the installation runs, it should default to "Install new"
Make sure you set/select the folder path properly to show X:\Program Files\sap\hdbclient
Once the clean-up was finished and the install was restarted, it installed without any issues.
    Thanks,
    ~ terry o.

  • 32 Bit Oracle Client Libraries on a 64 Bit Machine

    Hello,
I own a 32 bit application that is running on a 64 bit linux machine currently only installed with 64 bit oracle client libraries. I requested the administrator install the 32 bit client libraries so that my application can function and they tell me that it is not possible. They cited a Meta-Link article that I do not seem to have access to, but this doesn't seem right. Has anyone else ever installed 32 bit compatible client libraries on a 64 bit machine. Thanks

On Linux (and this is only on Linux, not on Solaris and AIX !) if the OS is 64bit, only 64 bit Oracle is supported.
Check the Certify pages for Linux x86-64. This is in the critical notes :
"Linux x86-64, support on AMD64/EM64T and Intel Processor Chips that adhere to the x86-64 architecture with supported Linux releases. *Running Oracle 32-bit on AMD64/EM64T (64-bit OS) is not supported .*
Oracle 32-bit running on AMD64/EM64T with a 32-bit OS is supported, refer to platform Linux x86 for more information on product availability. "

    Hi ,
    after having installed by mistake a PL not supported on Windows 7 , i have uninstalled B1 Client , and reinstall after updating the server ( 2007 / SP01 /PL07 ) .
i managed to install , but B1 is unable to connect to SAP Server . when i click "change company" on the first screen ,i saw only "MSQL" in the list box , and no MSSQL2005 . when i try to "Change Server" , and after "OK" , server is not updated in the main screen , and  i have the following message in the log :
"Error renaming SQL driver to MSI executable"
    have you any idea ?
    thanks
    Laurent

    Hi

i think my question was not correctly written : the server is ok , mssqlserver 2005 is ok , all the clients managed to connect to this server .

  • Oracle client with Citrix Xenapp 64 bit

    Hi,
    I have below queries :
    1) Can we install Oracle 9i client 32 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?
    2) Can we install Oracle 9i client 64 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?
    3) Can we install Oracle 11g client 32 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?
    4) Can we install Oracle 11g client 64 bit on Citrix Xenapp 64 bit machine ?

Queries do not make much sense.
Oracle does not provide client db drivers for a hypervisor or vritual machine system software. It provides it for the operating system used.
Oracle provide client drivers, 32bit and/or 64bit, for a number of operating systems and operating system versions. Does Oracle provide drivers for Windows XP? Yes. For Windows Vista? Yes. For Windows 7? Yes.
    See Instant Client Downloads.
Whether such a driver works on a Windows o/s that is running in a virtualised container, and can provide database connectivity, depends on the nature of that container's support for the underlying operating system, and the configuration of that container ito of network connectivity to the real world.
Oh yes - using Oracle 9i in any shape or form also does not make sense. It is a product discontinued years ago.
