Install SBO 2007 B SP0 PL 7 directly

Can any one please say that whether is it possible to install SBO 2007 SP 0 PL 7 (Upgrade.exe / Upgrade package) freshly in a newly setup server or not?

Hi Narottom,
I think you need installation files i,e setup files of 2007. You can't run 2007 though upgrade files because this up grader only only updates the existing tables.

Installing SBO 2007 Error Unable to connect to database

Trying to install SBO 2007.
First install server tools, then sever.
The SBO -Common database exists as per checking the SQl database.
The install asked for the database server, database name, user name and password in which I enter this correctly.
A message states:
WARNING

You will get this issue when you are using named/non-default instance of MS SQL Server during the installation progress
of SAP Business One Integration Platform.
The B1iP installation program uses default port (1433) to connect MS SQL
Server and to create database. The named instance will use the port
other than 1433.
1. Before the installation of B1iP, change the port of the named
    instance to 1433, which will be used to install B1iP.
2. If 1433 is being used by another application, and cannot be changed,
    the steps below is one walk-around way:
    a) Stop the instance of MS SQL Server, which is using the port 1433
    b) Change the named instance, which will be used to install B1iP, to
       1433 temporary, and remember the port to recover
    c) Install B1iP (or SAP Business One with B1iP component)
    d) After installation, stop the B1i service. Under B1i folder, in
       the Xcellerator.cfg, change 1433 to the port that B1iP DB
       instance used.
    e) Change back the ports of SQL Server.
    f) Run the service of SQL Server and B1i again.

Install SBO 2007 in laptop, how to get continuous license?

I installed SBO 2007 in my laptop for learning purposes. The software has 30-day limit, but I still need more time to master it. Is there anyway to remove 30day limit or get continous license w/o fee / low fee?

I guess if you are installing a demo version the package will necessarily expire after the 30 Days period. Now as such for the expiration of the package the sytem calculates the day from the installation of the package to the end of 30 days taking into consideration the ysytem date , hence what you cam do is to keep cahnging the system date whenever the expiration day comes close.
I guess getting it for free or low fee is not possible.
Try the above step.

Installing SBO 2007

hello all,
i have 2 servers
1 is DB Server and 1 is Application server
im done installing MSSQL 2005 in my DB Server. now im installing SBO to my Application Server w/ the ff. Order
1. Server Tools - DONE
2. Server - Im stack here
3. Client - not yet perform
4. DTW - not yet perform
now, in the second step installing the "Server" i choose Custom, and in the EDIT DATA (Server type) i cannot find the anything in the drop down list (then i manually type MSSQL_2005) and press next, now in
Server Name - i inputed (ServerName) since i cant find anything in my dropdwn list
UserID: sa
Password: SAPWD
im sure that i inputed the correct information but the system return this error msg
"The Connection to specified server has failed, check your password and the server exist in the network"
im stack here.. i cannot proceed to my installation.
please help.

Cannot find USA Local Setting in SBO 2007 release B

I tried to install SBO 2007 release B in my dummy computer today. However, I cannot find USA Local Setting when creating new company.
The only available countries are: Brazil, India, Japan, Korea, P.R. China, and Singapore. So the Chart of Account will follow these countries.
Did I miss something here?

SBO 2007 upgrade to 8.8 PL10

Hi, I have installed SBO 2007 PL 47 w/ demo license and I want to convert it to SBO 8.8 PL10. Do I really need non-demo license to continue w/ my upgrade? My purpose is to verify the errors that I might encountered if I will run my upgrade to live database w/ permanent license.

You don't need a license to upgrade the database. If you want to log into the database once the upgrade is done, then you need a license.

It's possbile to upgraded from win2003 x64 sp2 which installed SCOM 2007 R2 into windows 2008 R2 directly?

And as far as I know, in-place operating system upgrade could work, but there is no document about this. Please take backup before doing upgrade.
If you want to in place upgrade the OS, we can simply move SCOM databases to new servers and rebuild management servers one at a time. the downtime for SCOM would be very minimum if the management group has the capacity for agents to report to failover
management servers while the primary MS is getting rebuilt. You do not have to perform in place upgrade on the OS to keep SCOM.
Based on your need, I would like to suggest you add a Windows 2008 R2 as additional management server for your management group. And if possible, please also upgrade your SQL 2005 to SQL 2008.

Dear Yan, Since rebuild/config SCOM Server is very complicated so it's better that I can just upgraded OS into windows 2008 R2 without do anything else.

Directly running SBO-2007 B installation over SBO-2005 B PL-05 is not the proper way to upgrade.
Take the backup of ur 2005 b data base.
run the upgrade query..
if it gives any result solve the problem as per the result of query,if not returing any result measns ur data base is consistant.
Then download the IRU tool,
Install the IRU server and IRU clinet.
Read the help of IRU to get more information.
then run the upgrade exe.
if u will directly run the 2007 b upgrade exe,it will craete problem in new data base,

Combo Box Selection Issue in SBO 2007

Here is one issue which I am facing now.
I have just installed the 2007 Version of SBO in my machine. And using VB.Net.
When I tried to retrieve the Selected.Value from a ComboBox, it is returning a wrong value.
The real problem is this.
Suppose there is two ValidValues in the Combo box
1. aaa
2. bbb
and suppose we manually selected the value 'aaa' in it.
Then the combobox will show 'aaa' as selected value.
When we try to return it using the Selected.Value property, it returns aaa.
then I tried to select 'bbb' using a code which is here
oCombo.Select("bbb",SAPBouicom.BoSearchKey.psk_ByValue)
Now the combobox will show 'bbb' as selected value. But,
When we try to return it using Selected.Value property, It still returns aaa.
If we select bbb manually, it will return bbb.
IT ALWAYS RETURNS THE LAST MANUALLY SELECTED VALUE.
here is the original Code which I tried in my application.
cboCategory.Select(CWRptMaint.ReportCategory, SAPbouiCOM.BoSearchKey.psk_ByValue)

SBO 2007 PL06 - GetCompanyList fails

I am not able to get the list of companies on SBO 2007. The following code fails with "Failed to connect to SBOCommon" error.

Note that all other APIs work just fine. I am able to open connection to specific company and perform any programmatic operation. It is just that GetCompanyList fails.
I am running this code on the machine where SBO server is installed. So there are no network issues.
I have tried setting the server to "local," "(local)", "localhost", etc. Still no success.
I also tried setting UseTrusted to false and specified DbUsername and DbPassword. Still no success. As far as I know, GetCompanyList always uses trusted connection and ignores usrename/password fields.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I've seen that problem only in PC where Windows 2000 was installed. As I read the system requirements, I noticed that Windows 2000 is not longer supported for SBO 2007. So you should consider upgrade also the windows version. In Windows XP works fine. Works in Vista also, but I haven't tried it yet.
I hate those thing, it's like saying you should've read the tiny letters before.

User name & password to log on SBO Integration that comes with SBO 2007

I have installed the SBO 2007 Demo product. It istall the the b1i. I'm trying to log onto the Control Center. A web page comes up with fields to add user name and password. In the older version it was B1iadmin, but it doesn't do anything after typing it. Doesn't go in or say incorrect password.
Any assistnace greatly appreciated

I made the same mistake. In some part of a guide (don't have any document right now) says the user and password are the same of the database user.

The upgrade guide is already available on the service.sap.com in the following location :
Service.sap.com -> "SAP Business One"-> "Solution Overiew" -> "Documentation Resource Center" -> "SAP Business One 2007A" -> "Administrator's guides"
The documentation is also available with all the packages that are downloaded from the SMP and also in the Business One CD. under the "Documentation" folder.

I have made several AddOns with B1DE 1.2 for SBO 2004C. I would like to use them on SBO 2007 with SQL Server 2005.
When I install (made B1DE 1.2 Setup wizard) my old AddOns a got the following error on the new system:
Error at EndInstallEx() call at the end of the AddOn installation.
If I try to start the AddOns I got this error on SBO 2007:
ERROR - Connection failed: this Database server type is not supported.
What is the easiest way to use old AddOns on the new SBO?
