I want to know how to Write a InstallScript to Install Oracle Client.
Can any one provide a setup.rul file(InstallShield Professionalver 6.3).
and also the steps taken to install Oracle.

With that said, is it true that SAP/Business Objects is working to move away from the ActiveX enabled report viewer object in favor of the DHTML viewer? It seems illogical to move from what I consider the best and most reliable viewer object that uses the least amount of network bandwidth and doesn't require any additional elements for printing to a product that will still require an ActiveX download for printing for those users that prefer not to use PDF for every rendering. It also puzzles me why, in the current environment of internet and computer security that SAP and Business Objects would suggest that users simply open security to the general user community to write to secure operating system folders. Opening accounts to download signed ActiveX controls is one thing. Creating special security to allow the process to write and update specific registry keys is also acceptable, but granting users the rights to write/change to c:\windows\system32 for the placement of .dll files used only by this application is crazy talk.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward. -
Does anyone have a set of GOOD install scripts for 10g on OS X? I'm in the process of TRYING to install it and am moving incredibly slow. I've spent 99% of my time editing their files just to change the paths for various UNIX commands and scripts.

"Error" in ApEx install scripts for runtime environment?
I recently installed a runtime ApEx 3.1 on a 10.2.0.1.0 database. After installing an application which uses the Database Account Credentials method for authentication I was unable to login to the application, getting an ERR-10480 message. After some research on this forum I granted ALTER USER to FLOWS_030100 which resolved the issue. So far so good.
But I was still puzzled as to why the application had worked without problems in a development environment and not in the runtime environment. It took only a few minutes to locate the problem though. In the runtime-install script "apxrtins.sql" there is a call to the "runtime_grant_revoke.sql" script which removes unnecessary DBA system privileges for a runtime environment (which is a good thing IMO). In this script there is also a REVOKE ALTER USER statement, but it seems this one is needed if your application uses the DBACCOUNT authentication method. I didn't find anything on this in the documentation.
Anyone else notice this as well? I would think this is a bug in the install-scripts but perhaps I'm missing something somewhere?Tim,
Thanks for reporting this. In database server versions earlier than 10.2.0.3, the alter user privilege is required for the "flows" schema to support the feature you mentioned. We'll try to get this fixed in the next patch release.

What script can I write/run to have an automated install of the msi content disc?
I'm not sure you can. This is a reply I made to a similar question for PRE9, there may be something in there for you.
Silent install for PSE9 content.
There are many results if you search Adobe with the text "Silent install instructions for Adobe Premiere Elements 10" but they all seem to presuppose you have a volume licence. If that is the case you are probably better off raising the question with your Adobe account manager.

I'm having trouble getting the mybuybeans example to work with WLCS
2.0.1 and my Oracle 8.1.6 database. I created a user and then ran the
script to create the tables. The install documentation said to have the
server down while running DataLoader.bat. The first part (Loading Rules)
ran fine, but the next two (Loading Shipping Methods and Items) didn't
work because the server wasn't running. So I started the server and then
Shipping Methods worked but Items failed loading HJJ-001.
I can't come up with a username/password combination that gets me in to
the demo, but I can see three users in the Oracle WLCS_USER table (demo,
acme, visitor).
What am I missing?
How can I hand off my portal and portlet definitions to a separate QA
group if they are stored in Oracle tables? Is there a handy utility to
save them in a format that is easy to reload?

Scriptgen produces invalid install script for Gemplus
Hi
I have developed an applet for JavaCard using JCDK 2.2.1. Following the proceedure described in JCDK user's guide I have created a capfile and from that created script with scriptgen.
Now, I am ready to install the applet on a GemPlus GemXplore v. 3.2 card using pcsc-lite 1.2.9 w. ccid 0.9.3 on FreeBSD.
The problem is that it appears the Gemplus card does not support the same APDU commands for installing the applet: Using formaticc I get errors 6D00 and 6E00.
The first only occurs for the APDU command that the JCDK user's guide requieres me to insert in the top of the script. The rest of the commands produces an 6E00 error.
I have found a document describing the various APDU commands for GemXpresso 211 V2 card, but I have no documentation on the APDU commands for neither JCDK nor GemXplore.
How do I rewrite the JCDK APDU commands for GemPlus?

Contact software manufacturer for assistance. I am on a MacBook pro running 10.5.8 OS. Has anyone seen this before and how can I get it resolved.

I have an older Macbook with OS/X. Tried to download iTunes 10 a few times now, but when installing I always get the same error message: Run Preinstall Script for Apple Mobile Device Support. What can I do to finalise the installation?
Thanks. Short of the sort of "generic" suggestions of restaring your system, if you haven't, and repairing disk permissions and verifying the disk, I don't have any advice right now. I'll do some research and see if I can come across anything. Meanwhile, someone else may have an idea.

Ensure that you are logged in as administrator and anti-virus is disabled as that might interrupt downloading.

Install step failed: run preinstall script for DeveloperTools
During install of option install, I received the install failed for DeveloperTools. I am juts starting to use a mac for development and was trying to install all the development tools. How can I get this install successfully?

I already had the Developer folder at the top level of the disk. What did work for me was to not let the install location default, but to actively select the Developer folder. (You may have to modify some permissions for this.) The install was a success and I've confirmed the tools are working.

I had the same problem this weekend. The iphone 4s needed Itunes10.5 to sync to her Asus Windows 7 Laptop. When I tried to download from the Apple website I got the error that the windows installer was missings files or something like that. I uninstalled itunes and tried again but that didn't work. Then I redownloaded itunes 10.3 just to have a working version in case I gave up. Then I found site that suggested I update Windows by going through the start menu and while doing that I found an update Apple itunes file.
Goto Start and type Widows Update in the seach window. Click on check for updates (I already was current with all updates but I suggest you download the updates if there are some available.
Goto start and this time just type update in the search window. Look for the Apple itunes update link and click on it. It found there were updates for itunes 10.5, Quick time, Safari, and Icloud. I checked all the updates except for Safari, since we don't use it (yet).
The install started then seemed to stall at one spot for ~3min but then completed successfully. I open itunes and had her synced with Outlook Contact, Email, Calender, and Notes in 5 minutes. I did already configure Outlook by going to tools and Trust Center.

When I try to install upgrades for itunes on my Mac, I get the following message: The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for AppleMobileDevice Support. When this happened before I trashed itunes and started over, but I don't want to have to do that everytime i install an upgrade.

I ran into the same issue. Make sure your apple device in disconnected from the computer. It interrupts the itunes download. Disconnect and make sure itunes is closed, then try installing again. Remember that even though you close of itunes, it is often still running in the background. To make sure it's closed, click and hold the mouse on the itunes icon and select quit from the drop down menu. Then try installing the updated itunes.

Error installing iLife 09 - "run preflight script for Registration"
Hi,
I am trying to install iLife 09 and am getting the error above (run preflight script for registration) and cant figure out how to fix it. I have run a permissions repair, rebooted and it just doesnt want to let me install. My Install.app is present in /System/Library/CoreServices/Installer.app and have installed all the latest updates for 10.5
Any ideas?

after that I tried to install each program seperately via the customized installation guide but again the installation guide crashed.
for each program the following messages appeared:
run preflight script for iphoto, Imovie etc.
So what can I do about this. The warning message said I had to contact the manufacturer.
