  • Installing second copy issue: Mac

I am trying to install a second copy of Photoshop CS6 on my new Mac. The first copy is also on a Mac and was a CS6 migration from Windows. Hence I have no earlier version on either machine. On the new Mac, when I enter the serial number, I am faced with the error window: Serial Number Upgrade, "Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer". The drop down 'qualifying product' selection does not include CS6 (presumably because the download is an upgrade). Following Adobe instructions for second installations, I downloaded the product from http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html. Is there another page for full product downloads? Or how am I supposed to proceed?

It appears to be indicating that you are in possession of an upgrade version.  The drop down is seeking your selection of the version you owned prior to CS6 from which it was an upgrade.  Did you own a previous version?  If so, you need to provide its serial number to prove eligibility for the upgrade installation.

  • Installing Second Copy of Lion on VM

I just purchased a Mac mini with Lion installed and I can't seem to simply download a second copy from the App Store.  I'd like to take advantage of the new OS license terms and install a second copy of Lion in a VM to serve as a test bed for my software development work.  Does anybody know how I can get a free second copy of Lion to install on my VM?

  • Firefox install on windows vista home machine seems to hang up about 2/3 of the way thru

installing from setup 13.0.1 / seems to be hung up about 2/3 of the way thru / system is vista home edition / machine is toshiba L355-57915

    Hi,
Please try right-clicking on the Firefox installer and '''Run as administrator'''. If the problem persists, you can try to include the installer and its processes as fully trusted/allowed in any security software before starting the installation. You can also try to temporarily disable the security software for a few minutes. In this case you may also have to include the newly installed Firefox + sub processes in the security software configuration before starting Firefox.

I bought my wife a Nano a while back and all is well. we have upgraded to iTunes 6.
I now have a Nano but we have massively different music tastes. Wading through the library everytime we both want different music is a real pain!
Is there a away of creating a second seperate library?
Do I have to instal iTunes again for me?
I have tried to instal again but it wont let me as the installer notes the current copy on my harddrive.
    Any suggestions

  • How to install second copy (different serial #) on desktop

I have aperture 2 with same serial number installed on both my laptop and desktop on our network. Only one copy can be worked on at the same time so I bought a new copy so my husband and I can work on images at the same time. How do I install a new copy with a different serial number on the desktop and have the images on the old copy transferred onto the new copy? Will the new copy delete the old or will I now have 2 apertures on the desktop? I don't want to lose any of the images and only want the new copy with a different serial number on the desktop.
    thanks

You've got a couple options and I ran into a similar issue when installing and running a demo for Aperture 2 while not wanting to replacing my purchased copy of 1.5 until I purchase version 2.
Firstly, why don't you just install one version to each computer? You can have multiple Aperture Libraries on a single computer if you really want to keep your photos completely separate from your husbands but then you can just have separate project folders within the same libraries. You can add metadata to your images when you import them so attaching your name to the images at that time will maintain who shot what. This way makes updating the software much easier and hassle free. Which is not the case when running two copies of the same program on the same hardware.
Another option if you must install more than one copy of Aperture to each computer is to rename the currently installed version of Aperture and then install the new one. This gives you two copies of the same program but you'll run into problems when the next update is released. The renamed version will not be recognized by Software Update because it'll be looking for the version simply called, "Aperture" in the applications library. There is a fairly simple workaround for this though.
Instead of renaming the original install, move it into a new location or subfolder in the Applications folder. Then install the new copy and when an update is released it will be taken care of for the copy installed directly in the Applications folder. Once that update is complete, switch the two so that the other copy is now in the Applications folder and the updated one is in the sub-folder. Run Software Update again and it should run the update to the other copy without a problem.
I would recommend installing just one copy to each computer with the separate serials and just setup your own libraries onto each computer. Through a network you can share libraries between the two systems and you wont run into any problems with running the software or updating it.
I hope this helps you out with your problem.

  • Installing second copy of PSE11 on my new computer

I want to download copy 2 of PSE11 on to my new computer.  How do I do it?

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Installing second copy Photoshop CS6 onto desktop mac

I have photoshop CS6 installed on my mac book pro, but also want to install on my desktop mac. Can I re download my initial purchase of CS6?

yes, you can install and activate ps cs6 on two computers concurrently.

  • Can users who use CS6 install a copy at home at no extra cost?

Hi, I have found this link and just wanted clarification if it was possible and how it knows when the other copy is being used?
Also if someone leaves and took advantage of this can I de-register the licence online?
    Thanks

You have 2 activations and that answers all your questions. You can use it on 2 systems, as long as it isn't at the same time and since activation is mandatory, Adobe knows on what systems they are.

  • Install FCP 5 at Home Too?

Hi all. I'm just about to upgrade our systems to FCP Studio 5 and was wondering if I can still install a copy at home for the occasional homework project? Has Apple introduced that whole activation deal? I really can't buy a whole other copy just to work at home. Thanks for any advice.

I thought good application software vendors were all heading toward "like a book" licensing these days.
Don't confuse Apple with 'a software vendor.' Apple is, first and foremost, a hardware company. Every piece of software that Apple makes - not to mention free stuff like iTunes - is designed and engineered to sell more hardware, be it a Mac or an iPod.
Adobe, on the other hand, is a true software vendor (does Sony even make anything for the Mac?!?), and, if memory serves, they were among the first with the desktop & portable (or home/office) allowance in software licenses.

  • Need to install a second copy (per EULA)

I have a single user license for RoboHelp 7. I need to
install a second copy of the software on my laptop. Have not been
    successful yet.
Section 2.5 ("Portable or Home Computer Use") of the EULA
expressly permits a single license user to install a second copy of
the software on a laptop. However, the software activation
mechanism prevents this. I installed the software, but it will not
run until activated. Attempts to activate it result in an error
about the software license already being activated and giving me
the choice of deactivating the copy on my desktop (my main
    machine).
I have only a limited time need for this second copy. The
very specific purpose is to have a copy of the software on my
laptop to show my RoboHelp work to potential employers during
interviews. This complies with the EULA as I would not be using the
software simultaneously on my other computer at home. Once I get a
job, I have no need for this second copy and would uininstall it.
Thanks for any advice anyone can provide.

    Welcome to the forum.
Indeed you can install on a second machine but without doubt
the copy you are using has been activated twice already. This can
occur if your machine has been reformatted and you did not
deactivate first. Maybe your desktop machine was changed and you
installed on the new machine without deactivating on the old one.
Could a colleague have installed it to take a look?
Go back to the activation screen and it will advise you what
to do. You need to phone the number that you can find there and
explain the problem. I had this after a hard disk failure and was
    given an activation number.

  • Second Copy Install and Latest LR Version

I will be spending a good proportion of my time in France from next month and so will install a desktop PC there, so that I have one in London and one in France.
I know that I can install a second copy of LR on my Machine in France since I obviously cannot use them both at the same time. But, if my LR version on the installation disk is, say V3.0 and the latest version is 3.9, can I download 3.9 and use my reg key on that? Or must I install from the DVD and then upgrade?
I could just try it but I want to keep the new machine as pristine as I can without redundant files for a start at least!

Just install the latest version and use your key. No need to install from disk.

  • Hello, I have a G5 PPC. I want to install a copy of Entourage on the second hard drive. Can I do that or will it create problems for the processor?

    Hi everyone
I had a very old intel iMac from late 2006 which was dying now dead. I just managed to copy the Entourage folder onto an external hard drive before the iMac gave up the ghost. But I could not open the Entourage copy on the G5 PPC. each time i tried to do so the PPC copy of Entourage would open instead.I have emails on the PPC copy and do not want to lose them. I was wondering if it would be possible to install another copy of Entourage on the second hard drive? I was hoping that by doing that I could access the information from the iMac which has been copied to an external hard drive.
Any help would be very very welcome.

I don't think MS lets you install Entourage outside of an active system folder. However, you can install a fresh copy of Entourage on the G5's hard drive (if you have Office 2008 or lower), then use Entrouge's Import command to move the data files from the old hard drive.
We're done this several times as we've upgraded either computers or Entourage.
However, I think that, before you act, you should also ask in Microsoft's user forums here:
    Office for Mac forums
They are excellent and often an employee of their Macintosh unit will assist in answering.

  • The computer I use at work is a PC. I know you are allowed to install the programs on two computers, one work computer and one laptop. My laptop is a Mac. Is it possible to install the second copy on a Mac?
