Install Soundtrack Pro without Compressor 2

I've run in to major problems with Compressor 2. I am running Production Studio (FCP4.5, DVDSP3, etc). I purchased the Soundtrack Pro Upgrade and it also added Compressor 2. I have experienced many problems with compressor 2 (I've seen them listed here) and needed to totally rebuild to get back to a working system with Compressor 1. I tried many of the suggestions with little luck. I have not yet installed Soundtrack Pro, as I cannot afford to bring my system to a halt again with Compressor 2. Is there any way to install Soundtrack Pro without Compressor 2? I've been through the install and the documentation, but did not see the option. Anyone know any way to do this?

If you get Charles Srstka's Pacifist, you will be able to install whatever you need to wherever you want... Beware: this is not for the faint of heart - you must know what you're doing!

  • Soundtrack Pro and Compressor greyed out on installation

For some reason the option to install Soundtrack Pro and Compressor are greyed out when performing installation of Logic Stdio.
I had installed Logic Studio previously but ran out of disk space and so uninstalled the program, upgraded my hard drive and I'm now at the point of reinstallation - but can't install those two programs.
Here's a screen shot of what I get AFTER installing what I can:
    http://www.btinternet.com/~wack/screen.jpg
Also, why do some of the programs have 'upgrade' under Action?
    Thanks.

I tried Final Cut Remover, and still had the same problem. I am in the midst of using Pacifist and it seems to be working. Apparently Pacifist copies the compressed files to to your hard drive then extracts and installs the programs. It appears to be working, but I will let you know whenever it finishes if indeed it does the job...
It is free to try and $20 for a donation. It might be a bargain considering the time it will save me...

  • Cant install SOUNDTRACK PRO 3 on logic 9

hi i installed logic 9 a few weeks ago and ive just realised it didn't install SOUNDTRACK PRO 3 when i put the logic studio install dvd in it will only let me skip it and (compressor) any help would be appreciated
    many thanks

I did find an earlier post on this…
[  I spoke with Apple Support. The problem appears to be that Compressor is required to install Soundtrack Pro and Compressor was not installing on my computer. We removed all of the "receipts" in the library and copied them to a backup folder on the desktop. Then, we inserted the Logic Studio install disk and now it allowed me to install both Compressor and SoundTrack Pro (previously the Compressor box was grayed out). Then, I updated the software using Software Update, copied the receipts back into the folder (importantly - you do not replace any duplicate receipts when you copy the files back) and restarted the computer. Now I can launch both Soundtrack Pro and Compressor.
Your mileage may vary and you may wish to have Apple help you along the way but I wanted to let everyone know the outcome.
    Thanks.

  • Can i install logic pro without the cd because my dvd driver of my mac doesn't work . i have the key for logic pro

can i install logic pro without cd ? , i have the key for the logic pro but my dvd driver of my mac doesnt work ?

Buy an external USB2 DVD/CD drive..... (Amazon's Basic model works great)
    Or..
Borrow someone else's Mac that has a DVD drive fitted and use that via Remote Disk
    Note:
There is no legal means of downloading available for Logic Pro 9.. unless you originally purchased it via the App Store..
Therefore, in your case, you must install from the DVDs you have...

  • Installing Soundtrack Pro (v 1.0) on MacBook Pro

    Hello all,
I'd like to use Installing Soundtrack Pro (v 1.0) on my MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.8.
I've used the install disc to install it and got a "Successfully installed" message, and I've used Software Update to find and install updates. But Soundtrack Pro will not open.
By the way, I am the registered owner of this software. It was included with my Final Cut Studio upgrade.
Can anyone tell me, please, should this version of Soundtrack Pro run on this MacBook Pro with this OS? Does Quicktime Pro have to be present prior to opening? Or is this software just not going to run on an Intel Mac?
    Thank you for your help.

If you applied all recommended patches from redhat you probably use glibc 2.2-9.
However jre 1.1.8 doesn't work with this version of glibc. Downgrade to glibc 2.1.92-something (the original version supplied with RH7.0) and OUI will work.

  • Install Soundtrack Pro if already have Final Cut Pro Studio installed?

Should I install Soundtrack Pro if I already have Final Cut Studio installed?

EddyBoy_UK - I've got the most recent FCP Studio 2, with all the updates, yet the option was set to install Soundtrack pro.
I guess I'll get on hold with Apple tech support. Like to ask them if they have a tech note on exactly which files get removed during an install with Logic 7 & Jam Packs already installed.

  • Why my Logic Studio 9 (upgrade) does not install Soundtrack Pro, sound effects etc..?

I just bought Logic Studio 9 (latest I suppose) upgrade version. Now I figured out that it does not allow me to install for example Soundtrack Pro, Sound Effects etc... How can I install them?
Logic Studio 8 was not installed prior to install because OS X Lion does not allow me to install logic studio 8.
What should I do now? Complete uninstall OS X and only update to OS X Leopard?

    Hi
You have either moved the Applications or re-named them. For the updaters to work the Apps must be named "Logic Pro" and "MainStage.

  • Installing Soundtrack Pro audio content

Hi. I am about to install the version of Soundtrack Pro that comes w/ Final Cut Studio 2 and would like to install the audio content that comes on the three DVDs onto a secondary internal drive, the same drive where I store my video media files. Now, I also have audio content from Soundtrack v1.5 (that came w/ FCE 3.5) installed on my boot drive. Are all these files duplicated within the new audio content that comes w/ Soundtrack Pro that I am about to install? If not, will I be able to access both libraries of audio content once I have Soundtrack Pro installed, even though the two libraries will reside on different drives? And when I install the new audio content onto the secondary drive, where is the best location to keep the files? On what level of the drive and what should I name the folder? Thanks for your consideration.

Most of the content should be about the same. The big came change between versions two and three. And that change was in the use of Apple CAF files. That stands for compressed audio file, from what I understand.
If you search this forum you'll find that this topic came up several times. This extensive documentation on how to force soundtrack Pro to access sound effects libraries on external drives, or on different directories on your primary hard drive. easy way to deal with it right now is to simply move your existing libraries onto a directory on an external drive. Installed the new files. Then move them where you'd like them. Then tell soundtrack Pro would access everything. If it were me, I would just install the new files and not worry about the old ones. Duplicates will be overwritten and non-duplicates will be preserved. You can then move whatever files you want anywhere you want and then tell soundtrack Pro were to find them.

  • Installing Logic Pro without disk install disk.

Hello, can anyone help me please?
I have logic pro 9, purchased it in 2010 from the apple store in southampton uk. I have all the disks bar the first install disk, i think my one year old has hidden it somewhere! I recently upgraded to the latest macbook pro without a disk drive, so I guess I can download the software from the apple store?
However, I can't remember what email address I used to register the software! So I added all of the as secondary addresses I have to my apple profile. Hoping this would pick it the purchase in the app store. Sadly not!
I still have the box and instruction including the serial key that of course was registered in my name, so would apple be able to get this the purchase liked to my apple account?
Or is there a different solution?
    G

    Hi Dj Generator,
Instead of reinstalling Logic Pro from the disks, you may be able to bring it over from your previous computer using Apple’s Migration assistant. See the information in this article -

  • Satelite M70: How to install WXP Pro without SP with SATA drivers?

I know this topic is discussed many times,
I get a blue screen when I try to install WXP pro...bla bla bla
The solution is to install SATA drive.
The problem is that I do not have floppy drive to install the SATA drive, so what can I do?

    Hi
The using of the floppy drive is the easiest way to install the SATA or RAID drivers.
But I have searched a little bit in the net and found nLite.
You can use nLite and include the drivers then you don't have to use the
    floppy disk.

  • How do I install Acrobat Pro without the Creative Cloud client.

I work in IT Support for a large organization. We have one user whom we have purchased an Adobe Acrobat Pro XI license for.
Have installed the Creative Cloud client successfully, but it cannot connect to the Adobe servers to download.
We have given the users machine temporary access to bypass all proxys and firewalls, and can see that no traffic at all is being stopped or even questioned by our devices in place, however the user still gets a firewall error. Obviously no local firewalls are running either.
We believe the issue to be related to Applocker, that only allows installs from certain location on the local drive. Our security administrator is insisting that he will not change this to allow for installs from the Creative Cloud folder, and has told us to get the direct install files from Adobe and run the install manually from the existing allowed folder.
Is there direct downloads for each package? Or am I going to have to download it at home and create an install package manually??
    Ideas??

  • HD workflow FCP to DVD Studio pro without compressor

I have a completed HD project in FCP and I need to get it into DVDSP without using compressor as this ap is not working and hasn't since I purchased The studio.
    Can anyone help?

Normally, you can take the exported movie from FCP directly into DVD SP and it will be encoded there. While this method has far less possibilities for adjustment, in your case it also brings another problem with it...
It uses the Compressor engine to do the job.

  • Soundtrack Pro cannot launch. Missing PtoFX.framework

Just installed Logic Studio 9 and ran the updater to make sure I have the latest versions of everything.
Logic Pro, Main Stage ... work fine, but Soundtrack Pro would not open. Here is what I get
    Dyld Error Message:
    Library not loaded: /Library/Application Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX
    Referenced from: /Applications/Soundtrack Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Soundtrack Pro
    Reason: image not found
I searched left and right for the solution to no avail.
I put in the installation disc again, but I cannot select Soundtrack Pro (Or Compressor for that matter) to be installed. It is simply in the disabled state.
    Can anyone help?

A small caveat - I could not get the Compressor to work using this method so Compressor still crashes as soon as it opens up.
I did some more digging around and found the following.
    1) Soundtrack Pro and Compressor were not installed originally with Logic Studio. The installer said that I already had newer version installed. I never installed Soundtrack pro or Compressor before. /Library/Receipts does not contain any references to either one.
    2) I tried to remove both apps according to Apple instructions to no avail. Installer still thinks I have them.
    3) I tried (following Apple recommendations) changing the value of the Soundtrack Pro version to force the software update to update Soundtrack Pro. Changing version from 3.0.1 to 3.0.0 does nothing. Changing it to 2.0.1 prompts to install 2.0.2 which I did not want to do since I am not sure what kind of damage that will do to the rest of the system.
So basically - if anyone knows how to force the installer to install Soundtrack Pro from the actual Logic Pro DVD - that would be the real solution.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Compressor and Soundtrack Pro not installing even if Final Cut isn't there

    Hello,
I have a problem installing Compressor and Soundtrack Pro that I don't know how to solve.
The "read me" note of the software says, "Warning: Soundtrack Pro 3 and Compressor 3.5 contain updated components that are incompatible with Final Cut Studio 2 or earlier. If the Logic Studio installer detects Final Cut Studio 2 or earlier on your system, it automatically deselects the checkboxes for Soundtrack Pro and Compressor in the Custom Install pane."
Problem is, I've never had Final Cut Studio installed and the installer still deselects Compressor and Soundtrack Pro, and I cannot find a way to install them.
I'm using a new MacBook Pro and everything is up to date on it. I haven't installed much of anything else on this machine either.
    Can anyone help?
