Please keep me posted.. I am in a similar situation with updates... Its a shame, but Ive never been so hesitant about 'updating' my computer as I now am.. I need Windows 7 Delux Professional Premium You Can Actually Use it Not Just Fix It version 5.0, so I can get some homework done, this Home Premium isnt premium enough.

How to fix the DocSets install/update problem

I was not able to install/update my DocSets, it was giving me "Access Denied".
To fix it, I've simply deleted my "connect.apple.com (malkia)" account from Keychain,
and the next time either the developer.apple.com site, or XCode asked me for password, I made sure that I've entered "[email protected]" as a user name, instead of just "malkia" which used to (and suprisingly still works).
Now under my Keychain it's "connect.apple.com ([email protected])"

I have in the iMac MacOS X Version 10.6.8 My iTunes was version 10.6. The software update I am trying to install include three things:
- iTunes 10.6 (last release)
- Remote Desktop Client Update 3.5.2
- Security Update 1.1
After several attempts the sale occurs each time:
1. A message during instalation stating that there was an error and the update could not be installed
2. After restaring iTunes does not work any longer, the following message appears:
"This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes"
Trying to install iTunes directly from the download page og Apple produces also an error message and does not install the program

T420 - Installed updates - problems with OSD and UltraNav

Hello,
I have just reveived my T420 and installed all updates - first MS Winows 7, then Lenovo. The effect is that...
OSD is not working (I did not find any setting that would turn it on/off)
Ultranav middle button works like any mouse middle button - previously I used it for scroling, now it is just a normal mouse button
I cannot use mouse settings in windows. When I try to enter them, windows asks me to unsintall Synaptic driver for some reason. Then mouse setting window appears, but it is frozen.
Anybody had simillar problems?

The OSD-problem appears very often the last days after running System Update.
Install the hotkey-features manually
If Ultranav still does problems then remove it from Control panel - Programs and functions and install it again manually.

hi,
just bought an iMac and when I tried to install Techtool Deluxe 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 I got the same problem as described in
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1413920
when calling Apple Care I was suggested to try to install the software using another account (in the same iMac). It worked.
Does this solve the problem? Or could it happen that the application is not proper installed in my account? what happens when I remove the testing account I used to install the Techtool?

If it runs under the original administrator, it should be OK.
You should ask Apple why this workaround works and why. It's obviously a bug.

Restart your computer or restart your computer in safe mode with network, then try to install the updates. Detailed information you may reference the link below(this applies also to Windows Server 2012 ):

I am having major problems installing updates to all of ilife 08. The updater recognises & downoads the updates, but after completeing the download reports an 'unexpected error'. This has been happening for weeks?

Can you give us some more info on your setup: system version, Quicktime version, iPhoto version currently running and the other iApps? Have you run Disk Utility to repair disk permissions and to verify the disk (and make any fixes that are reported needing fixed)?
You might try downloading the individual updater files from Apple's Downloads page and run locally.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. If you have your old system backed up then erase the drive and restore your backup. If you don't have a backup then backup your entire Home folder. Erase the drive and install Snow Leopard after which you can restore your Home folder from the backup.
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
     1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
         with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
         After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
         a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
     2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
         button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
         After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
         size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
         partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
         and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
         (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
     3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
         with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
     4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
         Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
         username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
         Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
         install of OS X. You can now begin the update process by opening Software
         Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
     Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
     COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
     computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
     screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
     Reinstall the 10.9.3 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.3 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Update (Combo).

Problems Installing Updates from WSUS - Error Code 0x800f0826

Hi Everyone,
I have a WSUS server that I am using to dish out updates to the rest of my network. I am using PC's with Windows Vista SP1. Most of my PC's are installing updates fine with no problems - but there are a certain few that will not install any updates and return the error 0x800f0826.
All of the PC's are from the same image - so there is nothing different in the software setup that I am aware of.
I have been browing the net for ages, and have tried a few fixes - for example:
Starting Various Services and Setting to Automatic - No Luck
Renaming the SoftwareDistribution Folder - No Luck
Checked update history for failed updates and unassigned potential problem update - No Luck.
I am running out of ideas now - can anyone help?

Have you tried the solution provided by
Winword Exonar ? Does it work? Any feedback would be appreciate?
If this is not the cause, then I would suggest you return to a previous point with system restore. or simply uninstall the updates december 10, 2014 , then check if issue persists, we should first find out whether one update included in is the culprit.

App Store update problem: updates do not install

Hello,
since some weeks I have the following problem: In App Store -> updates an available update is shown. Then I click the update button, but it does not install:
- at some apps there is a little black&white + sign in the top left corner of the update button. When I press the update button nothing happens.
- at some apps the update button changes to a green install button. Once I click on the install button it changes back to the update button.
I can bypass this problem by using the search function, find the app that offers an update and click on install there. It installs correctly and the update is no longer displayed. But when there are several updates available at the same time this is an annoying procedure.
I can also buy other apps I have not yet installed without problems.
My iPhone is a 2G with the latest OS 3.1.3.
