  • Problem to install Visual Composer.

    Hi,
I am having some problems to install this versions: NWVC60_0-20000504
    About my landscape:
I am using two boxes machines: one of them where is installed MSSQL 2000 SP3, and the other one E.P 6.0 SP2 Patch 4 and IIS 5.0.
I read Installation Guide 1.2 during the step 3.4 Installing Visual Composer Storyboard: I run setup.exe the system asked me:
    HOST NAME:
    DEFAULT TCP/IP PORT:
    AND DBNAME
After entering of this paremeters appear a message saying:
"Visual Composer Installation requires SQL200 SERVER indicate appropiate server"
This is MSQLServer 2000 and I have installed SP3 (I don't understand this message).
In order to proof this connection I have configured an ODBC connection and it worked fine. (I use the same database, user and password).
Could you tell me what I am doing wrong ?
    Here, I have a doubt:
Must I manualy create this D.B or the system create it ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Patricio Garcia.

    Hi,
You don't have to manually create the database, it is done by the installer. But the installer stops on your case when testing the DB version. Try running the following SQL phrase used by the installer:
    use master ;declare @dbversion varchar(150) ;select @dbversion = substring(@@version, 23,5);print '[Server version]'print  @dbversion
It should result with the following:
    [Server version]
    2000
It also writes it into a temp file in a temp dir which might have failed for some reason (full administrative rights when installing?).

    Yaniv.

    Hi
I have a problem installing Visual Composer on SAP EP NW04 Stack 10.
I have downloaded VC from Service Marketplace version NWVC60_0-20000504.zip.

Then I get the following error:
Failed to connect to database server - the log says the following

    [DBMSLPCN]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).
Have anoyone reached the same error or have a solution on this problem?

    Hi Kay-Arne,
Please check if the authentication you are using to connect to SQL server is windows only, if this is the case change it to SQL Server and Windows and try the installation again.

  • How To Install Visual Composer

    Hi,
this may sound stupid, but I am stuck:
    How to install Visual Composer?
I have a Portal 7.0 and KM. Is it just an additional package? On which install CD is it? Can I install it now, after the regular portal is up and running?
I have seen the install guide, but I am missing the big picture.
Can someone outline the general steps and the prerequsities?
    Thanks in Advance
    hs

    Hello Holger,
Actually if you've installed the Portal than you already have Visual Composer installed as it is part of the EP usage installation.
To access Visual Composer type the following URL:
http://<machine name>:<port>/VC  (i.e. same as portal just replacing "irj/" with "VC" in uppercase).
Additional permissions and settings all appear in the insr.+configuration guide.

  • Installing Visual Composer

    Hi all,
Can anyone guide me how to install Visual Composer on NW04s,SP9.....
Its Very Urgent....Points Will be awarded....
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ajay Kande

    Hi Ajay,
I guess is better if you make a fast update to SPS11, you will get some fixes and new features than SP9
Is only a recommendation but as you can see in other discussions the SP11 is more stable than the 9 also as you will be modeling with Visual Composer is better that you have the latest fixes included in your composition tool.

  • Problem installing Visual Composer

    Hi experts,
I downloaded Visual Composer from SAP Servise but I have not been able to install it on my laptop due to the following issues:
It is looking for a SQL client, and an IIS server.
Can you tell me what I might be doing incorrectly?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer ,
Your Visual Composer installation is comprised of the following components:
    <b>Visual Composer Server</b>
made up of the following: Web Server (IIS), Storage Layer (Microsoft SQL Server), Visual Composer Storyboard (the Visual Composer interface
that you use for portal content development)
<b>Visual Composer Addons to SAP Enterprise Portal</b> (connects Visual Composer to portal)
Visual Composer is internally using IIS Server as Webserver. So IIS Server is mandatory...
Meta Data informations regarding our applications which are developed using Visual Composer are stored in the DataBase. Thats why its is asking for SQL Clien.
       Installation guide is here....

  • Importing BAPI's in Visual Composer

    hi
we have installed EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 4
on which we have installed Visual Composer 6.0. we are able to successfully launch VC and also connect to the portal. using user mapping we can also connect to R/3  and browse and see the list of available BAPI's but when  we tried to drag the BAPI into our design interface it gave an error saying something about cannot be done and pointing to a directory com/.../objectfactory.
we are able to drag user defined BAPI's but not sap defined ones and also the user defined after dragging do not show any input parameters when we click test function tab.Can anybody help?
    thanks

    hi richard
no we have been unable to solve that problem.
as far as i think it has something to do with portal permissions within r/3 coz the vc does call all datasources in r/3 thru the portal. i dont know whether importing portal certficate into r/3 could solve it also maybe assigning the general communication user role SAPJSF that lies in r/3.
we are working on it will post the result once we have tried it.
    thanks

  • Visual Composer 6.0 Patch2 on EP60 SP7 WAS 6.40 SP8

    Hello,
I am trying to test visual composer for some of our developemnts. I have installed Visual composer 6.0 Patch2 and am able to connect to the CRM systems using the Portal framework. The iview created in the VC works in preview mode in VC workbench (means, it retrieves and displays data). When it is deployed in the portal, I am able to see only the input form. The output form is not executed when 'submit' is pressed.
Does anyone have any similar xperience or any clues?

  • Visual Composer is not running on Win 2003 Server

    Hi,
after installing Visual Composer on a Win 2003 Server (with applying OSS note 804496).
The analyzer from note 772559 do not notice errors.
But I get a HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden: Access es denied --> You are not authorized to view this page.
It is a Test system and I have allowed all I can, but it is not working.
Does somebody have an idea why I got this error message? Do I have to configure something that is not described in the Installation Guide?

    Hi Ignacio,
I did not change the file. I use the same on a Win2000 Server and it's working there.
By the way, the URL http://ep-tst/vcserver/~server.ini is working, so it could not be a permission problem, could it?
The default.htm is the default page in the VCServer directory..."http://ep-tst/VCServer/default.htm" is not working, too.
And the title shows "Loading... - Microsoft IE".
Do you have an other idea?
    Thanks&Regards,

Hello. I have installed Visual Composer 6 and Service Pack 2. However when I connect to my portal(6.4 stack 4) I get the following error:
    Error winsvc.exe?get=1846140
It is installed on a windows 2000 server and IIS version 5.
    Please help.
    Pete

    Hi Pete,
It seems that you haven't install one of the Visual Composer prerequisites - SVG Viewer 3.0, it should be installed on the machine you use to connect to the Visual Composer. you can find it in the Adobe site.

    "Portal request failed

    What do i do ?
    Would appreciate a prompt help!
thanks again for making me move ahead
I had a conversation with a parson on the forum named Venkat . I am posting the same for other people in the forum to understand what exactly is my problem and how much have we explored .
    Regards
    Deepak Singh
    Hi Venkat ,
I tried to do so research on the problem and it is being talked about in a thread on the forum . They ask to refer to the sap note 765461 to resolve the mdi reference . In the note they ask you to refer the installation guide of the installed version of EP . I have EP 6.0 SP2 . The installation guide says the following ...
    7.1.2 Adding References
To enable some of the features in the portal environment, add references to reference file.
    To add a reference:
    1. With a text editor, open the file:
    Windows: <installation drive>:\usr\sap\<SAP J2EE instance name>\j2ee\<instance
    number>\cluster\state\services\file\work\managers\reference.txt
    Unix: /usr/sap/<SAP J2EE instance name>/j2ee/j2ee_<instance number>/
    cluster/state/services/file/work/managers/reference.txt
    2. Look for the line:
    reference service:eisconnector library:jco
    3. After the line mentioned in previous step, add the following in a new line:
    reference service:eisconnector library:com.sap.mdi
    4. Save your changes and close the file.
    5. Delete the file:
    Windows: <installation drive>:\usr\sap\<SAP J2EE instance name>\j2ee\<instance
    number>\cluster\state\services\file\work\managers.bin
    Unix: /usr/sap/<SAP J2EE instance name>/j2ee/j2ee_<instance number>/
    cluster/state/services/file/work/managers.bin
    6. Restart the SAP J2EE Engine. See Starting the SAP J2EE Engine [Page 60].
    7. Restart the SAP J2EE Engine again.
I did the same ....but now my server is not starting . By chance i didn't keep a bakup of the file which they asked me to delete .
Now what do i do ?
I think i am stuck up badly here .
EVERYBODY IN THE FORUM PLEASE HELP
I am not sure how a thing that is mentioned in the installation guide cannot work !
    Regards
    Deepak Singh
    Deepak,
It is not that bad. By deleting you are recreating that managers.bin file during startup based on the reference.txt and library.txt (recollecting from my memory). This could also happen if there is a typo or some special characters in the reference.txt
I don't know what J2EE patch you are at, but after PL22 you can actually add the reference using the "add reference" command from the administrator console.
could you please send the error you are getting? To revert back the simplest thing is removing the line you have added and restart.
    Hope this helps.
    -Venkat Malempati
Note: Please reward points if your problem is solved or useful.
    Venkat ,
I am using J2EE engine 6.20 SP2 .I tried to get the server started by the following two methods
    1) I removed my entry in the reference.txt file and then start the engine by running go.bat from the required path .
    2) I got the original file managers.bin which i deleted and then placed in the required path and restarted the server
Both the options didn't work .
I am not getting any error when i restart the server. When i run the batch file go.bat it starts the console and shows me the various managers loading . After it shows the Clustermanager loading , it stops and gets stuck .
Not sure what should i do now .Is reinstallation the only solution ?
Is there a solution from the administrator console ?
    Regards
    Deepak Singh
    Deepak,
No you don't need to re-install. Try the following.
    1. First start the state controller by runing go.bat in the following directory.
    /usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/state/go.bat
You get the message waiting for cluster manager.
    2. start the server in a different window
    /usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/server/go.bat
You get the message waiting for cluster manager
    3. Start the dispatcher
    /usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/dispatcher/go.bat
Please let me the know the error messages.
You can chat with me between 10:00 - 11:00 PM US EST.
    Regards
    -Venkat Malempati

    People ,
I tried to do what venkat suggested . Infact I had mailed him the snapshot of the screen when i start the state controller as he suggested . For other people in the forum this is what is happening . When i start the state controller it displays an error and then the window closes immediately . I have managed the screen shots somehow and in those i could find two messeges in the begining and the end which could be useful for debugging the problem ...they are
    1) [DBMS]: ID3004:DB file header do not match exception .
com.inqmy.services.dbms.server.interfaces.DatabaseException: Error while opening database ...
    2) ID000544: Error statrting service dbms. DBMS service not started properly due to: Errro while opening database
[Framework -> criticalShutdown] Service dbms startup error !
After the state controller window closes i run the server in a different window and i get a message waiting for the cluster manager as suggested . Now i start the dispatcher and i get the same messege there as well ie waiting for the cluster manager .
What is to be done now . Is this information sufficient to suggest me something ? Please let me know if you require any other information .
    Regards
    Deepak singh
