    Hi everyone
I want to replace my current factory installed win 7 home os to old version win xp sp3. how can i do that?

Support for Windows XP has ended. It is highly unlikely there are Windows XP hardware drivers available for your HP laptop. You need to stay with Windows
    7.

Officejet 6500a won’t install wirelessly on Win 7 HP laptop. Does fine wirelessly on generic desktop pc. HP Support Assistant does not detect this unit. At one time, I had the laptop wired to the printer, so all the relevant data were transferred automatically.

Wireless and wired use different setups. Since you didn't remove the previous install it expects it to be wired connection.

I'm trying to re-install itunes on my laptop & I am getting a message that has stopped the re-install & it says: "Service 'Apple Mobile Device" (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."  The diaglogue box gives me the options to abort, retry, or ignore; when I tried retry and ignore the re-install process stays stalled & the dialogue box comes back & I don't want to abort & start this all over to probably end up with the same issue; what does this mean & what do I do?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • Trying to install win xp pro on Satellite A200-TH1 (PSAE3C)

    Hello everyone,
I just bought this laptop. It came with vista. I want to install xp pro on it, I mean keeping vista as well. So I did partition, and allocated 72GB for xp pro. Now the problem is that, xp pro install cd does not recognize the harddrive. It says no harddrive present.
It is a SATA drive. So I did some googling on it, and found that xp pro does not have SATA drivers so that is why it can not see the hard drive. I need to install the SATA drivers with the xp pro by pressing F6...and blah blah. Since this laptop did not come with the floppy, so I found on some forums to include the drivers with xp pro cd and make an iso image and try to run it.
I tried many times but every time it gives me error that cable is broken. Can anyone pls let me know what is wrong? And also if someone can guide me to get the right drivers for my SATA drive and intel chipset 965PM...If I go on to the Intel website...
They are all .EXE files. I want driver files only, so i can insert them in the xp cd. Thanks for your help and guidence in adavance.

    Hello All,
I was able to get the drivers...now I came accross another hurdle... When I put the XP installation cd (which is an ISO bootable disk.. this includes xp sp2 and realtek nic drivers) it gives me message that checking for media..RTL8100E/8101E v1.02....test failed...check if the cable is connected...
Any ideas? What should I do now? Any suggestion would be appreciated...thanks

    Thanks for the feedback.
In fact the XP drivers for the A200 series are not released on this time. I didnt find it on the Tosh page.
    But there are a lot of threads about XP drivers and most of them provide a great links to a XP drivers which functions on a Satellite A200;

  • How do I wipe Win 8.1 64 from a SSD to clean install Win 7 64?

My HHD crashed on my Pavilion m6. Laptop was out of warranty, so I decided to go with a SSD. I only had a copy of Win 8 to install, so I could use my laptop while waiting for a copy of Win 7 Home Premium OEM from Amazon.
Within that week I had the new SSD installed with Win 8. The system wanted to update to 8.1, which I did. My intent was to ultimatly uninstall Win 8.1 from the new SSD and install Win 7 which the laptop originaly was designed for. My problem is I now have the copy of Win 7 and when I install it doesn't seem to connect to the network during installation so I get no drivers automaticly installed. I have tried the installation connected by LAN and Wirelessly with the same results, no network drivers installed.
I reinstalled Win 8 again with no problems so I don't think it is a faulty network adapter in my laptop. Now I am out the money I spent on the OEM copy of Win 7 because my system only wants to install properly on Win 8.1. Any suggestions?

    m6-1035dx
Install process never asks to install drivers. Now when I reinstall Windows 8 it's almost like everythig is still installed. Even the wallpaper. I have deleted all the partitions when trying to reinstall Win 7 but it's like remnants of the Win 8 install still remain.

  • Unable to boot Win 7 after cleaning factory installed Win 8.1_shuts down at preparing desktop

I had factory installed Win 8.1 on my HP P 206TX laptop but I wanted to install some software which does not support any OS above Win 7, so I wanted to remove this.
    I did the following process:-
    1. Created Win 8.1 recovery media(DVD) for future usage.
    2. BIOS setting:-
       a. Secure boot - Disabled
       b. Legacy boot - Enabled
    3. Cleaned hard disk through DISKPART
    4. Converted GPT to MBR
    5. Installed Win 7 Ultimate 64bit (DVD).......almost done till preparing desktop....
Then just during preparing desktop, system logged off, shut down and restarted....
But the restart does not boot windows at all.
It only shows "press ESC for startup menu" and then restarts again with the same process repeating again & again.
I have tried Repair through Win 7 DVD but it shows "this version of system recovery options is not compatible with the version of windows".
Please help as I am unable to find any solution anywhere on the internet.
I hope HP can help me...PLEASE

    Hi
According to your machines support pages on HP website, Windows 7 drivers are not available for your machine this is more than likely the issue you are having . If you want to run software through Windows 8.1 that is not compatible for Windows 8.1 you can always run a Virtual box and install Windows 7 to Virtual box and run software via there..
Google search Virtual box --- download and install then install your ISO image of Windows 7 and go from there..

  • Satellite 850 - is it possible to i install Win 7 - If yes, how?

I was in a rush to get a laptop for a job and got a Toshiba Satellite 850 which comes with windows 8 pre-installed.
I absolutely detest it and assumed I can simply wipe the whole thing and put on a windows 7.
After reading through lots of advice forums it seems that this machine is built for windows 8 and I can't remove it easily. I am so utterly and totally disappointed.
Is this really the case? Please tell me it's not.
I urgently need a reply as I start work in the morning and I need Win7 installed for work.

You are really a funny guy You blame notebook manufacturer because you are not able to install Win 7?
I assume you are doing this out of ignorance... you are unaware how to do that exactly...
First of ALL notebooks from ALL notebook manufacturers which are preinstalled with Win 8 supports secure boot and UEFI BIOS. These are Microsoft requirements.
Secondly: Its possible to install Windows 7 on all notebooks; no matter which system was preinstalled. But you have to know how to do that...
You said you are owner of Satellite 850. But what series? L, A C??
    Now some basic info:
To boot from external sources: CD/DVD drive, USB, etc. you have to disable secure boot and have to change from UEFI to CSM mode.
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03F30002R01.htm
It seems that you done this thats good.
Keep the SATA option in AHCI mode.
During the Win 7 installation setup, you will be asked to add drivers (SATA drivers)
Download the driver from Toshiba EU page, put it on the USB stick, and add it to the Win 7 installation.
Now the Win 7 should see the HDD and you should be able to install Win 7 on new partition.

  • Installing win XP on external esata drive failed

    Hello,
I have a problem with a lenovo T520. I installed win XP sp3 on its internal harddrive and it working fine. I have an external harddrive that I connect to the laptop via the eSata port. I want now to install additional win XP sp3 on the external drive to get a multiboot system.
But while setup, and after the first booting screen of windows, a blue screen of death appears with c0000218 unknown hardware error message.
I examined a little bit, and I saw that while win XP is booting it switch off the external harddrive (or reset the eSata port), and I think that what create the problem,
So is there a way to solve this problem.
    Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure if you can get it to boot normally out of the eSATA port. With XP on USB installs, you have to get it to load the USBSTOR driver early in boot.
You'd probably get better luck on the MSFN XP subforum with this question.

  • What are the risks of Installing win 10 preview ?

I have a brand new Dell Inspiron Laptop, and I was thinking of installing windows 10 preview on a new partition , so I can dual boot!
Could installing win 10 preview cause any damage to the hardware at all ?
I am not going to touch the original OS or the C Drive, I want to install this on a new partitioned drive !

    Hi SQLDev198155,
I think the best steps are:
firstly, make an image of your original partitions (I mean whole drive, i.e. all partitions)
(I use Acronis TrueImage as a tool of making an image)
      A. and then, use virtual environment (I use
    VirtualBox)
A-1. install VirtualBox on your current OS
A-2. create a virtual machine and install Windows 10 onto the virtual machine
      or
      B. do dual-boot as you want :
(after making an image, same as the above)
install Windows 10 onto a new partition
    I have three Windows 10:
      1. as a virtual machine : in VirtualBox that is running on Windows 7 : Windows 10 works
    with no problems
      2. upgrading from Windows 7 : no problems (some applications needed to re-install)
      3. dual-boot with Windows 8.1 : some problems
-- short-time freezing after booting from Win10, and Bluetooth mouse needs "Paring" whenever Win10 boots.
I hope it will be some help.
P.S. Windows 10 does not cause any damage to the "hardware". But it may cause some troubles on "software".

  • I moved CS4 Standard to new Win 8.1 laptop. It won't recognize serial number.

I deactivated and uninstalled CS4 Standard from an old laptop. I tried to install it on a new win 8.1 laptop using an install folder (the new laptop doesn't have a dvd drive), but it wouldn't recognize the serial number. It installed ok as a trial, but this isn't a permanent solution.
What can I do to activate it properly with my serial number?

Same exact thing happened to me (with Adobe trying to sell me CS6)...   I have Master Collection CS5, and installed it on a new PC running Win8.1.   All my Licenses were good and it installed, but now it won't upgrade.   I just got done chatting with Adobe and they said that CS5 will not update on windows 8, and I will have problems with it....
Also - Adobe does track how many times a License is being used.  They only allow 3 registrations of any license before it will no longer install.  You have to make sure you deactivate Adobe on any computer you're not using in order to free up a license.   If you computer crashes and you can't deactivate Adobe, you can call them and they will usually add a license (if you've used up all 3 of your licenses) to allow you to reinstall it.  (I know, as I have had both happen to me over the years).
