Install Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on MBP A1226 2.2Ghz 15-inch?

So the MBP model I have is above, and I get this error message when I try to boot from my Windows 7 Prof disc:

And once I do get it installed, where are the 64-bit drivers? I don't have my backup disc as this MBP I bought used without that included... thanks in advance for any helpful tips.

More RAM won't help. The combo Lion + SL is for people that want Lion on USB and you still are running 10.5.
You will never get any help or support from Apple over having 32-bit EFI firmware and not having the UEFI or EFI-64.
Only UEFI supports Windows 7 64-bit officially. Apple has a list of unsupported Macs, their implementation is different somewhat also. UEFI is rare on PCs.
You can't boot OS X using 64-bit kernel.
As the link about "Select...." and other articles, you can get around it, and you can run Windows 7 64-bit once you do, but it takes more work.

    Hi!
    After Windows update in april 2014 I cant any longer use the scanning funktion via network from Canon MF8330 Cdn multifunktion printer/fax/scanner machine! It worked fine Before the april Windows update installation.
    I have reinstalled with Canons driver kit 2005b för Windows 7 64 bit. All works fine until the scanner installation ends, then system report that it cannot install the scanner and I have to try installing again. I have done that now several times but it
    helps not. I Think it has something to do with that the Canon scanner drivers isn´t 64 bit files, or the problem is that windows update has replaces saome dll file to a never version that not work with Canon drivers. 
    I have seen that there is a service pack 1 from Canon för Windows 8 and 8,1, can I use that service pack to get a never dll file for scanner or work this only for windows 8 version.
    Have someone a solution to this! I have contacted the Canon support already and they say that its a Microsoft problem!

    Hi!
    I am installing the drivers from Canons site. It is the newest version 2005b for Windows 7 64 bit to MF8330Cdn Canon multifunction printer/fax/scanner. Installation goes well for the printer and fax but not for scanner drivers. The error message is Could
    not install the scanner. In device manager is there then a unknown device under Image devices. In Device Manager I try to update drivers, but it does not help either, error message is access denied. I am logged on the system with administrator account, therfore
    it is strange that I get the error message access denied.
    I tried earlier to do system restore back to previous time, but it did not work, error was that the system could not do the system restore because of access rights.
    is there anything else I could do.
    Here is the MF36SCN.inf file for scanner installation from Canon, if it can help You to go further with the problem. Is there something strange in the inf file that does not work in Windows 7 64 bit Windows, something shows that ther is also same 32 bits
    parts in the inf file.

  • Installed New Toshiba 320gb hard drive...windows 7 professionaL 64 bit cant find hard drive

    I recently got a replacement hard drive from HP...a Toshiba 320gb(MK3261GSYN)...I installed the hard drive into my hp probook4530s(XU074UT#ABA)...when I go to install windows 7 professional 64 bit edition, windows isnt able to find any hard disk to install the operating system on. But before even putting in the windows 7 disc, the computer asks me to install a operating system onto my hard drive. Also when I do a hard disk check test...the hp bios software automatically says the hard disk has failed.

    Before going any further, I would like to verify these situations:
    1 Did this issue appear before?
    2 What have you done with PC before the issue appear?
    According to your description, that seems the issue related with driver or programs conflict with Windows 7.  I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot
    the issue:
    1 Unplug all unnecessary hardware and login with Safe Mode or
    Clean Boot
    2 If it works well in Safe Mode, please remove all third party tools or programs, reinstall or update the hardware drivers to the latest version.
    3 If the issue persists,  you can perform an in-place upgrade to fix the system issue:

    Hi, i have a macbook pro version 10.6.8 with boot camp version 3.0.4. I managed to install windows 7 professional x64 bits but however when i tried to install the drivers using the OSX MAC CD using boot camp, it prompt me boot camp x 64 is unsupported with this computer model. Then i tried the method by right click the bootcamp x64 and managed to install the drivers. However, i still couldnt manage access the internet and it prompts me no networking hardware detected...Any idea how can i solve it?
    P.S i tried updating my bootcamp version 3.0.4 in mac os with bootcamp x64 version 3.1 exe but it shows me weird wording..
    my bootcamp version in windows 7 is 2.1..

    Use CCleaner Registry tool
    Do whatever you need to to nuke the existing Apple programs and folders hidden here and there also.
    BC 2.2 was XP and Vista only

    Hallo guys, i have a big problem with installing Windows 7 professional 64 Bit on my MacBook Pro Retina 15 with Boot Camp. No matter what i try i get a black screen after partitioning or get a message like " No bootable disk" or  " No System Disk availabe".
    My Mac has : OS X version 10.8.2, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB memory, 2.6 GHz Intel i7 and is only a week old
    My Boot Camp is version 5.0.1
    My Windows InstallingDVD is one year old now, i needed it to build a PC last year, hope that doesnt make a difference, its a full version, so not just for upgrading.

    Ok, problem solved. I looked a bit more here in the questions and there was the answer and its quite simple.
    Somehow an USB-stick makes problems while Windows wants to install, i dont know why. So i just made everything over DVDs and now everything works fine.

  • EPM 11.1.2.3 in Windows 8 Professional (64-bit)

    I am trying to install EPM 11.1.2.3 in my 7 core Dell Inspirion machine which has 8 GB RAM. I have installed Windows 8 Professional (64-bit) and also have IIS. I could successfully installed EPMA but when I tried to configure, "Performance Management Architect - Configure Database" failed.

  • Access connections 5 version 5.83 and windows 7 Professional 64-bit

    This is the first time I use this forum, please excuse me for any mistakes. I have just installed windows 7 professional 64-bit on a thinkpad T410 and downloaded the access connections 5 version 5.83. My access connections profiles have been exported when my laptop was under win XP and have been imported under win7. The problem is that although they do function, both WLAN and LAN type of connections, I cannot have two connections (one LAN and one WLAN) running at the same time, something that it could be done under winXP. One thing that I've noticed in the profiles, that is grayed out now, which I was able to control under winXP but now I can't, is the "disable this wireless radio when switching to a different location" for WLAN profiles and
    "disconnect form the network when switching to a different location" for LAN profiles. These two profile parameters helped me achieve simultaneous connections. Why are they grayed out and how can I correct this issue? Regards Marios S.

    could you uninstall both wireless and wired network drivers from your system and then let win7 install its native drivers.
    once done see if it happens again. also i recommend removing all network profiles and start fresh.

  • Boot Camp one more partation in windows 7 Professional 64 bit

    I installed Marwicks and through Boot Camp Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and After installing windows 7 professional 64 bit I want to create another partation in windows but when i am creating another partation through windows disk management I am able to create another partation but after creating another partation it changes all disks to dynamic disks.
    When I am coverting back disks from dynamic to basic disk through third party software it changes disks back to basic from dynamic disk except new partation.
    And it leaves new partation as a unallocated space.
    Can someone help me how to create one more Partation in windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

    Once you install  Windows on a Mac you can NOT FOOL with any of the partitions in Windows or in OS X.
    Hopefully OS X still boots. At startup hold down the Option/Alt key to get the Mac Boot manager/selection screen. Select yopur Mac OS X drive and boot to it. Run Boot Camp assistant and Remove the Windows partition/s if you can.
    If not use Time Machine to backup the OS X partition and then you'll need to use the Online internet Recovery system to repartition your drive as One Partition to remove the FUBAR you have created. Then once that ios done restore your Mac from the Time Machine backup you created.
    You can then use Boot Camp Assistant to recreate the Windows partition and reinstall Windows. Then do NOT try to make any other partitions in Windows or OS X.

    Machine: ThinkPad R400
    OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.10 GHz
    I am planning to (clean) install Windows 7 Professional 32-bit on my laptop.
    I would like to know if this is the ‘right time’, in the sense that are all the drivers for ThinkPad available or should I wait for some more time? (I know that beta drivers were available last week but I would prefer to go for the ‘full’ versions)
    Also, searching on the internet, I found that I might need to install a new BIOS before installing Windows 7. Is that correct?
    Would I need to do anything else before going for the plunge?

    It's always good to get the latest BIOS and install that first.
    Then I'd recommend doing the clean install of Win 7.
    You'll find that just about all of the drivers you need will either be in the Windows install package or available on our web site by now.  After you install Windows, if you download and install Lenovo System Update 4.0, it will find the drivers you need and get them for you.

    Sorry to hear that you are getting errors when attempting to install the HP Software and Drivers for your printer.
    Please remove any cables that you have connected to the printer with the exception of the power cable. Please make sure you have the power cable connected direct to a wall outlet and NOT a power bar/strip. Here is a document that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.  Note that the printer in the document is a LaserJet printer and this is only used as an example and that the document is meant for HP products in general.
    Please remove the Printer from the computer with the use of the uninstall utility that can be located in the All Programs menu in the HP folder under the model of your printer.
    Please click on the following link to download and install the printers HP Photosmart C6300/6324 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver. Please save the file to your desktop so that it creates it's own Icon.
    Once the download is complete, double click the Icon and follow the instructions. Please do NOT connect any cables to the printer until the installation prompts you to do so.

    Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
    If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownneship from an account with administror privileges.

    Just a hunch. You can try installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) yourself from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3387  and then try installing Presenter again. This may resolve the issue.

    Normally you will be asked to provide the new prdouct serial number first, then when a qualifying version is not found you elect to provide that information and then select the version and provide its serial number.  If this is not how things are flowing for you then you should contact Adobe support directly thru chat and get their help resolving it.
