As I said in my first post, I not only saw this "no opt out" bundling myself, but I screencapped it and documented it.
That was... wait for it... LAST JULY.
If anyone had the intention of ending it, they would have by now.
THIS is the reason I always update EVERYTHING (Windows, OS X, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5 and CS6, Office, Roxio... you name it) manually.
Microsoft keeps trying to push 8.1 and their %&#*'ing "Bing Desktop" with EVERY Windows Update, even though I've hidden both mutlitple times. You can't even update Java without the freakin' "Ask Toolbar" being pushed at you.
I know I'm not going to change it, so I changed my process for updating stuff.

You can't. You can take a screen cap of it, but the container doesn't allow access to the individual images used in a SWF or FLV.

Never mind -- I just found it under Tools/Options.../Applications, where I changed the incorrect association of "nlmcp" from Windows Media Player to the correct one, NetLibrary Media Center. Done!

1. Restart your computer to stop any Adobe process that is running.
2. Click on the following Adobe link. Go to the bottom where it says "Still having problems?". Click on the version of Flash Player for your browser.

Adobe Flash Player is the only way to view them.

I've different user accounts on my PC for me and my son.
Somehow Flash Player 10 only works for the user account I installed Flash player with.
In case I install it using my account it will not work for my son's account and vice versa.
How can I solve this?

I've struggled with this for a long time. Here is what I've come up with.
Adobe tech support recommended this:
1. Log in as Admin
2. Download the following zip file from here:
www.supportflash.com/reset_all.zip
3. Unzip this folder onto your desktop.
4. Drag both files ‘reset_min_all.cmd’ and
‘subinacl.exe’ to your
desktop.
5. Run the reset_min_all.cmd file.
6. It will open a DOS like terminal and start
running through registry
keys.
7. When it is finished it will say “press any key
to continue”.
8. At this point you can install the latest Flash
Player:

9. Check that Flash Player is working for the

I can't recall whether I had to run this in each account or not. It somewhat worked for me. If the accounts were all set up as admin accounts, flash worked in all the accounts after that. If one account was admin and the rest were limitied (I'm running xp home) it wouldn't work in the limited account.
I gave up and reverted back to flash player 9 via NOrton go back
It must be a permissons issue of some sort. I just don't have the patience to figure it out.

Running QuickTime files with no QuickTime player installed

I export keynote files into QuickTime format, but most of my audience might not have QuickTime installed. Is it possible that I somehow create a file that can automatically play that file without having the actual QuickTime player installed? So the player is embedded. I heard windows media player can do this.

To clear up a misconception, Windows Media Player can NOT do that. But Windows Media Player is installed by default on all Windows machines in much the same way that QuickTime Player is installed on all Macintoshes.
PowerPoint for Windows can export to a self-running executable, which includes both the PowerPoint show and a viewer for it, but that will only run on a Windows computer.
A better solution may be to provide a download link along with the files so that your audience can install QuickTime; or if you are distributing on disk, include the standalone installer along with your files (Apple has a license available to allow you to do that). Also know that if your audience has iPods, they have QuickTime.

How to install and use Flash Player with Windows 7 64-bit edition and Internet Explorer 8.

1. Click the Start button.
2. Search for Internet Explorer.
3. Do not click on "Internet Explorer (64-bit)" or "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
4. Click on "Internet Explorer."
5. That will open Internet Explorer 8, 32-bit edition.
6. Now you can download, install, and use Flash Player. (It is used automatically on websites that support it.)
7. In the future, make sure you don't use Internet Explorer 64-bit edition. Delete any Internet Explorer shortcut icons that you were formally using. Make sure that any Internet Explorer icons that you now use, are opening the 32-bit edition. To see what edition you are using, click the question mark near the upper-right corner of a webpage and click "About Internet Explorer." If you don't see "64-bit" on the popup, that means you are using the 32-bit edition.

Problems with Window Media Player. When I am using Windows Media Player to view a video from another source I am having problems. When I hit pause and then go back to hit play it does not have any sound. The player is not on mute and it keeps going from pause to play with no sound most times. Please help. Thank-you. For a few months now, I have had to install Flash Player every time I start my laptop. I have posed the question 'why?' on various web sites, all to no avail. For some reason I have never come across this site. Yesterday, I followed the instructions you give for installing a bit of software (Subinacl), into C: Program Files/Windows Resource Kits/Tools.
After installing what was suggested, Flash Player showed up in the Opera 'DeveloperTools> Plug ins', as Enabled.
This morning, on start up, Flash Player has vanished again. It is showing in 'Control Panel', but has vanished from Opera. Neither does it work in Firefox (it is missing from the Firefox plug in section.).
I have uninstalled Flash Player numerous times via the correct site and have even used Revo Uninstaller this last time, but it will still not stay installed.
Suggestions please

Try it from a fresh start:
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLERS to remove the Flash Player and Shockwave plugins.
Go to: C/Windows/System32.
If there's a Macromed folder there, delete it.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64.
If there's a Macromed folder there, delete it.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key+R and type "regedit", then click OK)
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE delete the Macromedia folder.(If it's there)
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software delete the Macromedia folder. (If it's there)
Close the Registry Editor.
Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Then go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ and download &install the Shockwave FULL installer for Windows (Internet Explorer)
Once it's installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

I am having major problems with the Flash Player Download

I have downloaded it probably 12 times +. I have tried everything I know and keep coming back to the boards for more. I don't know what else to do. I have I/E 8. I use AVG 8.5. I use Net zero and their proprietary pop up blocker. I download 10.1.82.76. I have also downloaded the older version and tried that. I tried the manual download. I made sure AVG is off. My Internet setting is at Medium.I have CCleaner installed. The blocker is on.I do see the whirling F video and it say I have the corresponding download to the right, and that it was successfully downloaded. I go to my control panel and in there it shows the download manger actively installed with a quantity of size. It shows the Adobe Flash Player also installed at least in name, BUT there is no quantity displayed for the file size. So this tells me it is somewhere, but just not totally installed or stuck somewhere. I completely remove it each time I reload it And I restart before I redownload. As far as I remember I already had it operating a while ago and all of a sudden my game site wouldn't work on Facebook. So I troubleshot it. It said to download the latest version if the game won't start so I did. And that is when this whole download problem began, probably about a week and a half ago.I have Windows XP Pro in I believe 32 bit, but where it says to check it says 128 bit capable, I think was the word. I can't find specific 32 or 64 anywhere.XP version is several years old.and I don't have any brand new hardware. It is an ASUS board, top of the line back when. and no problems before. Ok, but before I get involved with a lot of uninstall's, whereas you said that the earlier one didn't effect anything when it did, what is this going to effect and can I recover the deleted info or files if it doesn't work or causes problems as I say it did before?
Second I never used a downloaded uninstaller before during any of my uninstall's. Just the one in the control panel listing included in the FP header and listed there. It appeared that it removed all of the FP info because as I said I went to the Start/search and looked for any Adobe FP items and found none. So I assumed I did a good job of clearing any FP before rebooting and re-downloading FP. So is that a yes or a no to start with?
Third You, I guess it was you said that from what I told you FP is loaded and operating as it should. If so why would I do this (continue making changes) now, when apparently the problem is elsewhere? IF in fact it is, that is.
Fourth. I received a reply from Facebook tech saying that IE8 does have some issues with their app's due to similar construction platforms or something to that effect (I saved the mail so I can quote it if necessary), and that I should try a bunch of these recommendations and see if they work, which I did not yet do.I just sort of gave up on their game and said screw it. If they can't provide software that works with current popular platforms then I don't need their software. And part of what they suggested was to change my browser. I am used to IE and really don't like changing things all the time just because there's something new. And many of the things available in Firefox and such, I probably don't have use for so why should I change to begin with. Anyway I wasn't really willing to change my browser to suit their software. But in another point, the game was working fine for quite a while with my original FP untill it just quit one day. And as I said I don't know of any changes I made to cause it. I didn't change browsers or download any other games or change ISP or change FP or modify how they ran as far as I know.
Fifth. I received an e-mail from a girl who like me posted on here and while reading some of the posts before posting my self read hers. Our problem or complaint was quite similar and someone suggested that she use a different browser and she apparently did and it apparently because she emailed me and said that that was what worked for here. Again, I didn't persue that avenue.
Sixth. But just FYI any of the seemingly similar games will still not work on the Facebook site for me because I downloaded a similar one to the one that didn't work and it did just as the other one was doing. and loaded all the way until the game picture loaded and stopped blank. So either I have a problem or bug or Facebook/Game supplier does. Maybe both.
So please answer these before I just go off and make changes I can't recover from if my system crashes because of a mod. Thanks.

Problem with Windows Media Player -- saving, transferring

Copy short videos onto a thumbnail drive from a different computer running Windows 7 with Windows Media Player. Thumbnail drive accepts files, lists and can play back fine on same computer. Take thumbnail drive to different computer also running/using Windows Media Player & Windows 7, and playback only plays back audio -- no picture. What am I doing wrong?

As WMP is not a DVD player, my suggestion would be to tell your clients to never use WMP.All our DVD discs go out with a warning not to allow WMP to be used.
In most computer setups, WMP does not play back video correctly as it does not have an MPEG codec installed, or has navigational problems.
All computers that have a DVD drive fitted, will have a dedicated DVD software player installed, such as Win DVD or Power DVD, so why not use that?

Install with no CD player.
