Install Xcode from Appstore. Shows "Installing. 3 minutes remaining."

Hi,
Trying to install Xcode (for iOS 7) from Appstore.
Latest Mac OS X also is installed. Only Xcode shows "Installing. 3 minutes remaining."
From then on, nothing happens.
Any help please?

I'd quit the Mac App Store then look in /Applications to see if there is a file called Xcode. If so drag it to the trash then reboot and try loading it again.
Post back if you still have the problem.
regards

That error means the country is blocked from purchasing apps. You cannot buy Apps from the store in Syria. The iPhone is not sold in Syria, nor there are carriers that support it.

This is persistant. I have reinstalled entire OS and then I tried to install XCode Again. Then realised
something is wrong with XCode binary provided by App Store. Any solutions for this?

I have downloaded xcode from https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action and installed it. this fixed the issue.

  • Installed Lion from AppStore-looks like running Leopard & Lion-wierd

I installed Lion from the AppStore- by all accounts- it's running Lion. Yet when my machine is turned off and powered back on, the Snow Leopard appears and I lose Lion background. I have a suspiscion it is running both somehow because my computer is popping up with windows that say my start up disk is full and that I need to delete files.
Do i need to uninstall Leopard and how do you do that? or uninstall Lion and reinstall? if so, how do you that?
And if anyone knows how do deal with the start up disk issue, it would be greatly appreciated.
These are instaled on a MacBookPro 2.4 Intel 2
    Thanks,
    J

You say "by all accounts" ... please check, by going to the Apple menu, clicking About This Mac, and checking what is written under "OS X". (10.6.8? 10.7.4?)
But deal with the drive space first, since, if you don't have enough, any software updates are unlikely to work correctly, and your system may fail. I'd advise you run Omnidisksweeper which will tell you where your largest files and folders are. Move any user files to an external hard drive, or delete any large files/folders you don't need any more. (Don't delete any system folders such as System, Library, /etc or /var ! You can, however, delete unneeded printer definitions from the /Library/Printers folder, and delete Garageband/iDVD templates from /Library/Application Support, if you don't use those programs.) Check your Downloads folder, as this can fill up. Empty your Trash.

  • Why am I unable to to install XCode from the App Store?

I'm running Mavericks (OS X 10.9.2) on my 2010 era Macbook Pro, and I installed the latest security update from Apple yesterday (4/23/2014).
Today I'm trying to install XCode (because I need it for Maven and Unison), and when I click on the green "Download" button next to it in the App Store search results for "Xcode" the button changes to "Installing" and then nothing happens.
Looking at the console log I notice the following, which makes me wonder if this is an App Store bug:
    ERROR: ITSExceptionHandler: {message:"TypeError: 'null' is not an object (evaluating 'document.querySelector("#header").removeClassName')", url:"https://se.itunes.apple.com/htmlResources/EC0D/da-storefront-autoinstallations.j s", lineNumber:"326"}
If so, is there another way to make sure I've got an officially approved copy?

Thanks for the hint! I hadn't realized that Xcode 5.1.1 was so huge (2.18Gb) and assumed after an hour that the installation had frozen.

  • Install freezes at less than one minute remaining

What is a nondestructive resolution for Lion installation that freezes at less than one minute remaining.  The istall does not finish.

  • Played podcasts show 1 minute remaining

Often, I will play a podcast to the end in the Podcast app but the app often shows that the Podcast is not complete and has about 1 minute remaining.
If I do not replay the last minute and sync my iPhone to iTunes, it shows as completed in iTunes
If I replay the last minute and sync my iPhone to iTunes, it shows as played twice in iTunes
Anyone else having this behavior?  Any solution?
    My setup -
    iPhone 5s
I do not subscribe to any podcasts inside of the Podcast app
I do not auto delete any podcasts inside of the Podcast app
I subscribe to Podcasts solely through iTunes
I sync my phone (including podcasts) from my Mac using iTunes using a cable
If I listen to podcasts on my phone, I always listen at 1.5x speed.

I've replied to this because am also experiencing same issue on both iPhone and iPad, but not when played via the iMac - from when this was first posted it seems 53 others are also suffering same problem. Anyone of the "53" been able to resolve yet or at least find out why it's happening?

  • Installing Leopard from scratch, then installing old apps

    Hi,
I want to reinstall Leopard, so none of my documents etc are on the computer, as if I bought it from new. But then I want to reinstall my apps like Aperture, Office, iWork etc. How do I do this, if I want to use the same purchase code as previously (don't want to buy the software again)?
Are the purchase codes related to my laptop itself, and therefore I can use this again after reinstalling Leopard?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
    Mc

As long as you have the installation serial numbers and the original disks, you should have no problems installing them on your reinstall of Leopard.
If iLife came with your computer, then you will have to install that from the original disks that came with your computer using the "Bundled Software" install....

  • Need to Install iMovie06 from my old install disc to computer w/iMovie08

I have macbook pro that came with iMovie 08 installed. I need to open and edit some old iMovies I made with iMovie 06. I have my old install discs for iLife 06. If I go through a custom install and only select to install iMovie 06, will this overwrite my iMovie 08? I'd like to keep both versions on my computer to work separately on different movies (not to mix - keep 06 movies in 06 and 08 movies in 08). How can I install iMovie 06 and keep my iMovie 08?

  • TS1702 Unable to find installed app from AppStore

I just downloaded the free Genius Scan scanning app from the AppStore. I see the 'Installed' notification next to the app, but cannot find the app anywhere on my iPhone. I'm unable to download it again since it says 'Installed'

Swipe to the right on your home screento bring up search page.  Type in Apps name and search, if it appears, that mean it is on your iPhone somewhere.
Have you used up all the pages with Apps icons?  Max allowed is 11 pages and if you have exceeded, some Apps will not appear on pages but are still on your phone.  Try reduce pages space by grouping icons into folders.

  • Installing App from Appstore without Password?

Last night, my nine year-old "nephew" (the son of a close friend) asked to install a game from the App Store. His mother wasn't keen on letting him play it, so I refused to key in the password. He said he would just "hack" it instead -- my mistake. I watched as he went to Settings -> General -> Network -> VPN ... and then I got lost. He typed in some numeric sequence, went back to the Appstore, and then proceeded to download the app. I asked him how he did it, but he clammed up. I told him no more iPad until I figure it out. It has been bugging me all night.
Today, I talked with his mother, who uses an iPhone 4, and reminded her that they share an OS. She talked with him about it, and he finally admitted that he had used the same hack on her phone. Eventually, he decided he "wanted to talk" (yes, I know -- this sounds so, well, weird) and gave her a number, either 370519 or 397051, which somehow he enters into the VPN area. I'm still in the dark how it works exactly, but I'm wondering if this is a known route around the Appstore password restrictions. Has anyone seen such a hack?

Just change your Apple ID password.

IMHO... never allow anyone to use your computer that has access to information to alter system data, nor an iOS device such as an IPad or iPhone.
Might be a good idea to change the admin password on your Mac also.
