Install XE on VM ORACLE Virtualbox W7x32

hi! Try to install subj. all time have "ok" instalation. but when try to connect from sql comand line have the same errors like do not have an oracle database.
try to chek "ORAHOME" - its ok.
chec rights - made an user owner of folder with oracle with full rights.
chek tnsnames.ora - remove my pc name to 127.0.0.1
check servises in administration - run all servises with oracle
but result the same - i do not see XE - do not work connect by sys, system, and admin.
what i do wrong? or what i must do to run database?
note: run "start/stop" works correctly (may be?) its reporting that normaly start and normaly stop but after start i have no working connect.

Specific error messages might reveal some hints, is the database running?
sqlplus /nolog
conn system
... password ... Connected.
select status from v$instance;
... OPEN ... ???

That's localhost, or the loopback address, its good for checking if TCP is installed and not much else. Output from an `ipconfig /all` will have the info needed for a listener setup. If that address is where the listener HOST= is pointing to, no remote connections are possible. But sounds like that's one of the lesser critical problems, that one can wait 'till the others are sorted out.

Product key WIN10 Tech doesn't work under Oracle virtualbox

I'm trying to install windows 10 in oracle VM box.
Installation ask me for product key, I've provided the right one, from Insider program site, but it keeps saying it cannot verifiy it and so I cannot go on. I am using build 9926. I have tried these three keys:

If the ISO you mentioned is not Windows 10 Enterprise Technical preview, we cannot obtain Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9926 ISO any longer now.
You could try the latest ISO Windows 10 technical Preview build 10041 for test.

I would like to make an oracle VM template installation on oracle Virtualbox..MY oracle Virtualbox3.2.12 are 32 bit and also my host OS which is windowsXP is 32-bit.I have installed OEL5.2(32-bit) on oracle virtual box..SO i need your assistance on how to proceed with it. Also i want to know whether VM template installation on OEL5.2(32-bit) is possible?

Oracle VM templates are not compatible with VirtualBox. The Oracle VM templates may work on an OEL5/Xen dom0, but have not been tested that way. It's best to install Oracle VM on your hardware, either by replacing Windows or Linux, or by using a multiboot configuration.

Problem in Installing Forms 6i in Oracle 8

I am a home user and at the moment studying for OCP Oracle Forms Developer Rel. 6/6i and I really need some good help.
I have some problem in the Installing the Orcale Forms 6i, I have already installed WinNT4 (Server) and Oracle 8.
SO far I have tried to Install Forms 6i four times but I failed. Due to this reason every time I had to also Uninstall the Oracle 8
from my system, because it started to give problems.
OK THIS IS THE PROBLEM :
When I installed Oracle 8, the user name was <system> and the password was <manager> in the SQL Plus. I used it for few times and worked fine. But when I installed the Oracle Developer 6i the SQL Plus didn't accepted the same user name and the password. I tried many commands that I could find in the Oracle documentations (On the CD) but so far nothing.
Need some command or any thing to over write the system so I can change the user name and password.
Plus when I use turn on my computer and run WINNT 4 (server) I get message that I have some problem in Oracle80.exe file and due to that my system hangs for couple of minutes.
I also want the sample tables, but I don't know the particular command for SQL *PL by which I can get the sample tables.
Please help me by suggesting what shall I do.

Installing JDK 5 in Oracle 10.2.0.4

The JVM/JDK version within Oracle 10.2.0.4 is at 1.4.2 and we have Java code that will require JDK 5.0 to be installed in the database, Oracle 11g has JDK 5.0 but I am not sure how I can upgrade the JVM/JDK within a 10g database to JDK 5.0.
Is this possible or we are stuck with JVM 1.4 when using Oracle 10g. If we cannot my only option to upgrade the database to 11g to get JDK 5.0

So, If I install the DRDA type Transparent Gateway I'm hoping I only have to put software on the Oracle side - my side? Not the DB2 side? I saw via someone else's post where during DRDA setup a package is created on DB2 side by issuing commands on the Oracle side?
If this is true, which I hope it is, why and what benefit is obtained by installing the other type of gateway Transparent Gateway for DB2 (TD4DB2) which requires installation of software on both sides - I think?
I would like to only have to install software on the Oracle side since the DB2 machine is not owned by us and all we will have is a user account on the DB2 side.

The DRDA Gateway software is only installed on the the Oracle server machine (or a 3rd machine).
There are several notes on Metalink "How to setup TG4DRDA" which explain in detail WHAT steps are required to configure the gateway.
Regarding the Bind package: at the Db2 database the 2PC table must be created and then use SQL*Plus to bind a package at the Db2 side.
This is mandatory for the DRDA gateway, but I want to make it clear again: NO software is installed on the DB2 machine.
So the difference between the TG4DB2/400 and TG4DRDA is the location of the software.
TG4DRDA is installed on Unix or Windows platforms, commonly in the Oracle database home whereas TG4DB2/400 is installed on the AS400 machine.

I have JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0, and I like to enable the IDE for OMBPlus development.
I followed the guide at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/owb.111/b31279.pdf (appendix Installing OMB Plus in Oracle JDeveloper)
1. Drop shiphome/owb/lib/int/OMBPlus_jdev.jar in the JDeveloper
installation directory/lib/ext directory.
2. Start JDeveloper.
3. From the Tools menu, select Preferences, OMBPlus, and then OMBPlus
Installation to set the Warehouse Builder installation directory. For example,
c:\oracle\ora81. Do not include the Warehouse Builder directory at the end
of this path.
4. Restart JDeveloper.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 each time you change the Warehouse Builder installation
directory.
However I do not get a OMBPlus menu in the Preferences window.
Can you please help me?

There is a bug report in support.oracle.com with the exact same symptoms - I could find no documentation about the version of JDev supported by OMBPlus, but I'm strongly guessing that JDev 11 isn't supported. In fact, I guarantee it.
I've cracked open OMBPlus.jar and had a look at the extension manifest - it's for JDev 9.0.x, which isn't available to download any more. Your best bet would probably be to file a support request to see what they have to say.

Installing Designer 6i onto Oracle 9.2.0.1.0

I am trying to install Designer 6i on Oracle 9.2.0.1.0. The trouble is I receive an error telling something like (i'm translating from spanis into english) 'a key value for getvalue is not found' and it offers me to retry, continue or abandon.
If i choose continuing, the installer says:
'You can't not install to the same home as Oracle Designer, please enter a new Oracle home name and path.'
But i have no designer product installed yet.

Unfortunately, Designer 6i is not currently supported on
the 9.2 version of the database. Only 9i Designer is
supported.
The latest available version of 6i, Release 4.5, is supported on 9.0.1.3 though.
Therefore, I'm unable to really help, as we have not completely tested a 6i/9.2 configuration.
