  • Have Acrobat XI Std, installation of Acrobat XI Pro fails, version incompatibility

Running Windows 7 Pro on work Thinkpad.
Trial version of Acrobat XI Pro as of Dec 4, 2014 is 11.0.07
Licensed version of installed Acrobat XI Std is 11.0.09
Installer downloads, but when the splash panel displays and I press Next, I get the message that a more functional version is available and it bails.
Obvious why the error occurred. Makes me wonder if Pro features are hidden inside Std, the way IBM used to take the DP Manager out to lunch while the CE flipped a switch for more MIPS upgrade. ;-)
I simply want to check out the multi-media features before committing to upgrade.
Will try using another computer, thought you would like to know about the problem.

Sadly you cannot run Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro at the same time. The message is rather the wrong way round but basically a hint in the right direction.
You would need to uninstall Acrobat Standard. Be sure you have EVERYTHING you need to reinstall including disks and serial numbers before considering this!

  • Can't find download for Acrobat 9 STD--the Acrobat 9 download is for PRO, and my serial number not valid for PRO.

I'm switching to a new laptop, and I want to bring my Acrobat 9 STD with me. Deactivated it on the old laptop, went to the download page for Acrobat 9 and downloaded it, got to the part in the installation where I entered my serial number, and the installation wizard said it was invalid. That's when I noticed the download was for Acrobat 9 PRO, not STD. I used the support chat and explained it to the support person, and he gave me a link for the 9 STD download. Unfortunately, it was the same page. I downloaded it again. Still 9 PRO. Anyone else have any ideas where they're hiding the Acrobat 9 STD download?

Finding the file all depends on how you did the install and if you downloaded the install file. If the install file was downloaded to the TEMP folder, there is a slight chance it may still be there (should be in Windows>TEMP, not sure on MAC). It may have a name similar to the Pro download of AcroPro90_efg.exe. The Pro would be change to Std and I am not sure what the efg stands for. I would search for AcroStd9*.exe. There seems to be a download for AA 9 std available at http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml. I have no idea if that works. I had found one place where a staff member said he is working on getting links up for all the older versions, not just the trials (that are Pro). I simply searched on Google for Acrobat 9 Standard files. I can't find the message by the staff, but there is one in the last week or two as I recall where a staff member was providing links for folks on an individual basis.

  • Can't upgrade from Acrobat X Std to Acrobat X pro

    Hello,
I have Acrobat X std I purchased and d/l without problem months ago.  Today tried to upgrade from Acrobat X standard to Acrobat X Pro.  All seemed well until I ran the installation after downloading the files using the download assistant.  The installer window shows Acrobat X Standard in the top bar.  It will only accept my old Acrobat X Standard serial number.  It will not accept the new activation key or serial number.  I have completely uninstalled Acrobat X, gone back to the download area under my orders, and re-downloaded the file.  Same thing happens all over again.  Of course no support or help on weekend and I leave on a trip tomorrow.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

OK, I got it loaded.  Not sure exactly, but I believe the tricks were to not use their automatic downloarder, delete it from my computer, to select the "overwrite" option when the manually downloaded installer found the previous files (which I had uninstalled, so not sure what the uninstaller left behind....) then of course once it ran, it prompted me for the Standard serial number, since that had been uninstalled.  Once I put that in, it all seems to work.  Sheesh.

  • Acrobat XI Std register issue on non-english os

    Hi,
I'm deploying Acrobat XI via SCCM in unattended mode.
MST has been created with all settings EULA, license key, etc and following language options:
    in "Installation Options" (silent mode):
Application Language English (US). No other options marked.
Also, I made some change in "Direct Editor" in "Property" table. "Lang list" has been changed to "en_US".
Installation and register works perfect on all "English" systems (by meaning English, it is location in OS). But on all non-English systems after installation following error occurs:
Of course no need to know norwegian to understand that this is something wrong with license key or installation itself. So started googling and this article found:
Error "Language mismatch between entered serial number and Acrobat launch language" | Windows
But what is strange, default language is English. Checked this in Acrobat option and in Modify option.
To clarify, I want to deploy Acrobat XI Std do different locations over the word with English language as default.
    How to solve this issue?

I'm installing Adobe 11.0.0 above solution is for 11.0.1
    I checked this key and couldn't find any difference HKLM\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\11.0\Language\current\ "acrobat.dll"
Also, checked wow6432Node and acrobat.dll was missing so I added it but this didn'r resolve whole issue.
    I made additional tests today.
Downloaded package once again from: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html
Created new MST files with different options options:
    1. Install all language marked
    but I'm getting error during installation (msiexec /i AcroStan.msi /qb TRANSFORMS=AcrobatXIStandard3.mst)
    2. Only en_US chosen.  Installation completed successfully. So i started to test Acrobat.
         a. Convert Web page to PDF -> OK
        b. Print to PDF -> License box appeard ! -> so I manually put there license key and got this freaky ERROR (S/N doesn't match) once again!
    How hard it can be?

  • Need Acrobat 9 Std LEID for APTEE tool replace sn after imaging

    Hello,
I need the LEID for Adobe Acrobat 9 Std for the APTEE tool.  The syntax is this:
    adobe_prtk --tool=ReplaceSN --serialize=LEID --serial=serial
What does work on Acrobat X Std is AcrobatStd-AS1-Win-GM
I have a disk image that has Acrobat 9 which is required for the Dell computers that came with Acrobat 9 and this command produces a return code = 6 which I think means product LEID is not found on the computer.
After restoring a disk image it is important to run this tool (which is installed on the computer prior to SYSPREP).  This way we can put the correct SN that came with that hardware so that end users are not badgered by a licensing screen.
I am not sure if this worked, despite return code 6.  I still haven't gotten a pop up and I've had a PDF open now for over 10 minutes.

It looks like you are using a LEID for Acrobat 10: Identifying Existing Installs — Enterprise Administration Guide
Make sure your serial is for DE
    Verify you are online.

  • Acrobat 9 Std Thinapp not lunching

I recently downloaded and installed Acrobat 9 ThinApp (on Win 7). The installation went without errors. However, the app does not launch.
Made several attempts to remove and reinstall the app, but it still won't launch. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Hi Sukrit,
My employer provides a ThinApp version of Acrobat 9 Std. to us that I believe is served up through VMware. I'm not IT savvy, but my understanding is that with thinapps, the end-user's local drive does not contain all of the program components. This way, the employer realizes a savings in IT infrastructure costs (cheaper laptops due to limited resources), and I believe Adobe offers a discount for ThinApp versions of Acrobat as well.
    Regards,
    Mohamed

  • Will Adobe Acrobat X Std work on an XP system?

I own Adobe Acrobat X Std for my desktop that runs Windows 7.  My old laptop is running Windows XP.
Can I download X to my laptop without updating Acrobat 5?  I have been loading updates for 2.5 hrs and it is still working!  If Acrobat 5 cannot be upgraded directly to X Std. Can I remove it from the laptop and download the highest version that is compatible as I have been using and upgrading Adobe Acrobat for years, (I have been upgrading from version to version over the years).

    Hi jjtexas,
    Welcome to the Community!
Updating Acrobat 5 will not install Acrobat X as updates are for that particular version only. It has to be a new installation, yes Acrobat X standard is compatible to run on Windows XP with Service Pack 3 for 32 bit or Service Pack 2 for 64 bit.
    Thanks!

  • Multiple shortcut toolbars in Adobe Acrobat x std

I'm looking for a way to have multiple shortcut toolbar lines in Adobe Acrobat X std.  I don't like the drop down tool bar that is present.  I use multiple addins in my toolbar and I want to see them all up in the toolbar for easy use.  Is there a way to add multiple lines of toolbars instead of having the drop down overflow box?

You'll want to ask in the forum for Acrobat. This one is for the free Reader which cannot do any of this.
But to get you started, you can use Document>Extract pages to create a new file of the modified pages...

  • Acrobat X Std - issue with watermarking/estamp

    Hi,
we have an issue with Acrobat X display watermarking/estamp created by Acrobat 9 std.
The estamp is consisted of 2 parts - the signature and a stamp. The signature should be on top of the stamp. All the formatting and transparency looked perfect in Acrobat 9 or Reader 9. We tested with Foxit Reader too, no problem.
However, Acrobat X Std could not display it correctly. The signature and the stamp seemed like overlapping with each other and no any transparency. I would assume it's a setting somewhere in Acrobat X, since the older version and the Foxit Reader all had no issues.
    Please help.
    Thanks!

  • Where's my Page Thumbnails button? Acrobat 8 Std

A few weeks ago I was able to click on the Page Thumbnails button in Acrobat 8 Std, some how it is no longer visible so can't use page thumbnails option. How can I fix this problem?

Right-click the left panel and select Reset Toolbars (or something similar
    to that).

  • Auto naming files in Acrobat 9 Std

Is there a way to have files that are scanned to Acrobat 9 Std, auto named?
I find that the default name "untitlted" is causing problems... especially over-writing the last untitled file...
    Any help?

Scan to TIFF in the application that came with your scanner and then import the tiffs. Not what you asked, but a better workflow. Many scanners will scan to file and autonumber them.

  • Accessing Javascript console in Acrobat X Std

    Good evening,
for some reason the "Ctrl + J" shortcut does not work on my Acrobat X Std. The shortcut does show up in the helpfile so I assume there is something wrong. Does anybody else have the same issue?
    Thanks

OK, I get it. Try the following:
Create a plain text file with the following code "console.show()", you can call it something like "open console.js".
If you are on a Mac:
Open up your Acrobat app by right clicking and picking "Show Package Contents", navigate to Contents/Resources/JavaScripts and put the script there.
If you are on a PC:
Place the above script in /Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat ?/Acrobat/JavaScripts
Then restart your Acrobat and hopefully after start-up your console will pop open.

  • Trying to download and install Acrobat 8 Std

I have a new Windows 8.1 computer. I have de-activated Acrobat 8 Std on my old computer. I am trying to download and install on my new computer. When doing so, Adobe appears to only offer Pro, and wont accept my serial number. Suggestions?

If you did not save your previous download you may be out of luck. To date, I have not heard of anyone being successful with AA 8 on Win 8.1, but that does not mean it is not possible. I suspect it may not work, but only trying will answer that question. If you search the forum, you may find some of the old posts to find the Adobe person to contact through PM to see if he can give you a link. They no longer post the link for std.
