Hi,
I'm trying to install the Office Developer Tools for VS2013 - November 2014 update, but it fails to install. The installation is blocked:

  • How to install "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" without "Web Platform Installer"?

I have visual studio 2012 ultimate for practice , now I want to do SharePoint 2013 development through that. Generally I should download "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" through

  • Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013 on Windows 10 Technical Preview

Hi, I've never developed a plugin for Office before. I've downloaded the technical preview of Windows 10 and have it running via Boot Camp on my MacBook (Looks good! I'll buy it when it comes out). Obviously with this being in beta it's understandable that
there are problems, so this is just a heads up on one particular problem. Maybe there's already a solution or workaround?
I've downloaded Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition, brought a copy of Microsoft Office Home And Student 2013 and am currently in the process of installing Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013.
The only problem though is that when I try to install it I get the following message:
    http://s22.postimg.org/dxh1gtra9/Install_Problem_Office_Plugin_Tools.png
    Here is the log:
    http://pastebin.com/7wWkSfjF
I also tried to download the file directly and run that.
    http://s3.postimg.org/tj9vb660j/Install_Problem_Office_Plugin_Tools2.png
I right clicked on the file and noticed an options called "Troubleshoot Compatibility". There was a wizard, and I ran through the wizard a number of times through different routes but none of them worked. I was unable to find the option which turned
off compatibility mode. I then searched for answers online which told me to do some things in the regedit program but that didn't seem to solve the problem.
Anyway, I understand that this is a beta version of Windows 10 and that there are going to be problems but thought it would be best to let you know. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet and buy Windows 8.
    Many thanks,
    Lawrence

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 - March 2014 Update Issue - Need help

We've just applied the SharePoint Foundation 2013 March 2014 Update, it always requires that we run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard at the end of install, but this time it's getting stuck at step 9 of 10 (the profile sync service cannot be
started even as admin). Is anyone else having any issues with this update? Has anyone else applied it yet? Is anyone else planning to apply it?
If anyone can help with advice on this I'd appreciate it.

    Hi,
We can still access CA but sync will not start. Tried rebooting after the failed configuration and tried to run it again but it didn't work.

  • J2ME dev tools for simple demo apps

    Hello community,
I 've been using Java for a long time and recently got a project involving j2me. Its mostly apps for demo purposes, therefore there is not a lot of logic/network traffic involved. For example, one app is a bunch of screens guiding the user throught different text blobs and pictures. It is very similar in structure to browsable content, with links and forms, just like a very simple HTML site.
I have always used netbeans for developing java, and it seems that it has some neat tricks for create ME apps. You can use a nice drag and drop design mode that also auto-gens code. But I have found a tool like http://www.cascadamobile.com/ , in which you write simple HTML/js pages that link to each other and then this thing will generate the j2me code from that. That would be exactly what I would need for my purpose, save for the fact that the product is Ad-supported, so its a no-go.
Maybe I could make a j2me app as a WML-browsable content so that I would just have to compose the wml and then the app would just "browse" them from the phone's memory?
In any case, the question is, are there any fast tools for making simple (mostly demo) apps, in a j2me environment?
    Thank you.

RealBasic, Metrowerks Codewarrior, you might find some references on http://developer.apple.com/ and one software vendor I know still makes software for it is http://www.lemkesoft.com/
And they might be able to tell you what tools they use.

  • Third party tool for SharePoint 2013 Record Auditing?

Does anyone have knowledge about third party tools that extend the standard auditing functionality in SharePoint 2013?
I am mostly focusing on being able to archive the audit log automatically before it is trimmed, and being able to query that archive.

Metalogix ControlPoint is great for this! It will automatically archive and trim the audit log for you based on your parameters. It can then search across both the archive and active audit logs.

  • Jetstress tool for Exchange 2013

    Greetings
I am upgrading the Exchange 2013 environment and want to run the Jetstress tool before putting the servers in production.
I have 2 Mailbox servers as member of DAG.
Please provide me inputs on below mentioned points:
    1. As per microsoft recommendations, the Jetstress tool should be run before installing Exchange Server.
However, i have already installed Exchange server and done the CAS Virtual Directories configuration.
Is it possible if i can run Jetstress after installing Exchange Server.
    2. Now, the Exchange is already installed. DO i need to run Jetstress on all DAG members.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Preferably, Jetstress testing should be performed before you install Exchange on the server. There are some well-known risks associated with running Jetstress on a machine with Exchange installed. If you use a version of Jet (ESE.DLL and ESEPERF.*) different
than the version installed with Exchange, the registration of the Jet database counters in the Jetstress install directory will broke the database counters for Exchange after Jetstress is removed. You may have to uninstall the existing Exchange Database Engine
counters before you run Jetstress, by running unlodctr ESE at a command prompt. However, you will still have to uninstall and reinstall the Exchange version of the Exchange Database Engine counters when testing is completed.
Summary - It is not advisable to run jetstress on a production exchange server which will lead to multiple complications.

  • Report preview issue in SQL Server Data Tools for VS2013 2013

I have a basic table based report backed by an SQL2012 stored procedure.  When I try to preview the report I get this error:
There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/PreviewProcessingService6476/ReportProcessing that could accept the message.  This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP acction.  See InnerException, if present, for more details.
How do you view the inner exception?
How do you troubleshoot this error?

    Hi scortt_m,
Based on the error message, generally it occurs because the .Net pipe Listener Adapter is Stopped in Service. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Oper to Start and type Service.
    2. Go to Service, find .Net Pipe Listener Adapter.
    3. Right click and start this service.
Also please refer to the similar threads below:
There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/
No endpoint listening at net.pipe exception
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • CL Tools for Xcode 5.0.2 Update

After installing  this update from the App Store, when I run xcode-select --install, I get an error message that the command line tools cannot be installed because they are not available on the Software Update server. Did something change?

I am new to this (using xcode and CDT), so want to be sure what I should expect to see from `gcc --version`.  When I run this, it prints out
    `Configured with: --prefix=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr --with-gxx-include-dir=/usr/include/c++/4.2.1
Apple LLVM version 5.0 (clang-500.2.79) (based on LLVM 3.3svn)
    Target: x86_64-apple-darwin13.0.1
    Thread model: posix`
While "Developer" is in the path, which seems reassuring, this is not what I expected from other discussions.  I did install via the .dmg file, and now I have a new path, `/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools` which was not there before (and what I expected from other discussions), and if I use the gcc found there, it actually points to the same output and prefix.
    /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/gcc --version
    Configured with: --prefix=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr --with-gxx-include-dir=/usr/include/c++/4.2.1
Apple LLVM version 5.0 (clang-500.2.79) (based on LLVM 3.3svn)
    Target: x86_64-apple-darwin13.0.1
    Thread model: posix
What confuses me more, is before I installed the CDT from the dmg, I have used the `otool` trying to solve another problem, and it did not complain and tell me to install CDT.  If these report the same info, can I be certain everything is installed correctly?  I am having trouble installing some other code properly, and wondering if I have somehow goofed up my CDT install.

  • Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio 2013 - v2.2 install fails on Windows Server 2012 R2

    Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2013
    Version 12.0.21005.1 REL
    Microsoft .NET Framework
    Version 4.5.51641
The installation completes without any errors on my VM running Windows Server 2012 R2, however its not recognized in VS2013 ? It also breaks the Publish functionality when I try and publish a web site to my hosting provider.

I tried install, uninstall, reinstall cycle several times without success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
