Installation check

I just installed Oracle 11g Release 2 on a new Windows 2008 R2 server. It has a RAID array local that hosts ASM. I'm running Standard version. The install appeared to go fine - database was up and running, OEM came up, database showed online, etc. I applied the patch set for Windows - patch16. I used opatch to apply the patch to both the \grid and \db homes. Rebooted and ran catcpu script out of grid home, but it applied to the db home instead. Then ran utlrp script which reports no invalid objects.
My questions:
1) Do I need to run catcpu against the \grid home and if so, how, since the ORACLE_HOME value was set properly?
2) In the catbundle log file, there are a several of error messages saying that it couldn't create a type. An example is:
SQL> CREATE TYPE kupc$_LogEntries AS VARRAY(10) OF ku$_LogEntry

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing objectAll of these errors are with these ku$ types. What are these and should I be concerned?
3) I need to enable APEX, but see nothing in the installation notes that indicates how to do this. I am an APEX developer, but my experiences have been with installing into 10g and upgrading - not enabling. I'm looking for documentation help.

About the error ORA-00955 according to metalink you need to do the following :
Enter a unique name for the database object or modify or drop the existing object so it can be reused.

11.5.10.2 Post Installation Checks: DBC ,JSP checks failed (Resolved)

Hi,
I am trying to install 11.5.10.2 OEL 5 installation on VMware. Its failing in the post installation checks: the DBC check and JSP checks are failing. Looking at the errors, it says that .dbc file is not generated. And because of which the JSP is also failing. I am able to access the portal http://vega.apps11i:8005 , but not anything after that.
So, I tried to generate the dbc file by running the adgendbc.sh file.. but its failing as below:

I had installed 11i (11.5.10.2) in an external drive (made as a Linux OS through VM Ware) and was trying to access through my laptop (having OS XP Professional)
The Installation of 11i in Linux (RHEL 4) went fine, except during the post installation checks I got the following errors:
1. JSP Check failed
and
2. Environment File Check failed

10.4.11 Combo update (PPC) fails installer check

I've tried installing both the Combo update and the standalone rev from 10.4.10 --> 10.4.11. Both stall at the "Select Destination" step stating that my "volume does not meet the requirements for this update". It doesn't give me any more details than that.
I'm running 10.4.10 on an iMac G5, have enough disk space (100+ Gigs) and have run a verify disk and repaired permissions with Disk Utility. The installer log shows the last message as "Installation checks completed successfully."
I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

My 17" Intel iMac updated to 10.4.11. Worked fine for a while, then the grey screen started coming down and crashing. Eventually, it wouldn't start up. So, I used firewire target mode to install a fresh update from my PowerBook. When i started the imac, I got double panic kernal errors. Now it won't eject the DVD that's in it, won't start in Target or Safe mode. NOTHING.
As a long time Mac user, this really *****! Help!

We have successfully setup BI to portal connectivity and it is working fine with just one exception that is BEx Broadcast is not functional. Step 8 and 12 of RSPOR_SETUP are in RED.
STEP 8:
Status 8: Configure User Management in Portal - Add-In Installation: check logon.ticket_client (see note 994785)
STEP 12:
Status 12: Maintain User Assignment in Portal - System failure during call of function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST
In this regard, support desk tool is displaying warning over WebAS ABAP setting with following message:
STATUS = YELLOW
User mapping check not possible Try to execute Support Desk Tool by another user in order to perform user mapping check
Applying SAP note 994785 that refers to changing the logon.ticket_client parameter to a client that does not exist in ABAP. We did change the Java client in Visual Admin-->Security Provider service as follows:
1. Choose the User Management tab page.
2. Choose Manage Security Stores.
3. Select the login module CreateTicketLoginModule and choose View / Change Properties.
Also, new parameter value was added to instance profile with logon.ticket_client=799 (client that does not exist in ABAP). And the certificate in STRUSTSSO2 added to ACL with client 799. Restarting the instance and running the report RSPOR_SETUP still encounter the same issues as above in STEP 8 and 12.
Please correct me if I went wrong somewhere in the above process.

as you can see from the info this means that PI/XI installation is not done yet
if this is a new installation and was performed by someone who does
not know how to install XI I'd suggest doing it once more

R12: "Login" Post-Installation check fails on OEL5

I have installed EBS R12 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 (Update 2).
All post-installation checks succeed except for the Login.
The following error message is displayed:
RW-50016: Error: -{0} was not created: File = {1}
I already tried the following:
- Increase RAM to 3GB
- Change the /etc/hosts file (see Doc ID 437152.1 from metalink) to:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.139.132 vmlinux.vmdomain.com vmlinux
and perform a fresh install, but it didn't work. Login still fails.
Could someone please help me with this problem?

OK, after running "./adstrtal.sh apps/apps" and "./rapidwiz -restart" all post-installation checks succeed. Thanks!
The addstral.sh script did however return errors (status 150) as can be seen below. Pretty strange.

I can connect to ebs and log in using sysadmin from within the Linux machine.
However, I cannot connect to ebs from within another machine (running Windows XP) in the network. Internet Explorer says the page cannot be displayed.
If I connect to http://192.168.139.132:8000 using this XP machine, then I get a page telling me that I will be redirected to http://vmlinux.vmdomain.com:8000 (so the Linux machine is actually found). Nevertheless, the page isn't displayed afterwards.
I disabled the firewall on the Linux machine during the Linux installation, so that cannot be the problem I guess.
Should I download a plugin for Internet Explorer or do something else to make it work?

Itunes download gets stuck at:- Gathering Required Information, Status: Performing Installation Checks

My Itunes was not working so I deleted it and now cannot download a new version. The download gets stuck at Gathering Required Information, Status: Performing Installation Checks. I am trying to download 10.4 for windows. I have been trying to download this again for about a week and have deleted all apple products from my Control Panel and temp folders. Any advice?

Deleting the .itl and rebuilding it will lose date added information. Playlists may be recovered if the .xml file is imported. A better way might have been to temporarily rename the .itl while iTunes is installed, then restore the original .itl after the fact.
For general advice on problems installing iTunes see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Dear all, i'm trying to find some documentation regarding the CC post installation checks to ensure the system is installed fine. This is important because the installation is done by the customer themselves and I need to verify them before they should proceed to create or mitigate any rules in the system. Is there a checklist which i can refer to ?

You'll find this to be quite a task - if i have understood you correctly. That is if you want to verify that installation has suceeded and that it is actually working correctly.
Once you have gone through the post installation steps. That is, setting up the JCo Connections, SLD, Uploading the rules, usobt etc etc (This maybe creating the rules), Running the Full Sync for users/roles/profiles, analysis and management report background jobs and have not run into problems it is probably safe to say that everything has gone ok.
What i would do after this is select a couple of sample users and execute some user analysis reports and use data in the backend R/3 to verify the reports.
There isn't as far as i know a document which is able to <i>verify</i> the installation.

Java components of XI, post installation check

I have installed Netweaver 2004s PI along with the Java and ABAP stack, with the ABAP user management pointing to the ABAP stack. I selected the PI option during the installation.
I wanted to know what java components get installed after a successful PI installation. I do not see any particular component related to XI/PI there. I feel the Java Components related to XI have not been installed during my installation. I found this problem during setup step of configuring RFC INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI. During the test of this HTTP destination the URL gave a 404 resource not found exception.

Is this a common problem during the PI/XI installation.

There is some problem between the physical IP and the private IP connection.
However I am able to ping successfully and also SSH successfully between the physical IP and the private IP.

EPM installation check

Hello Gurus,
I was wondering if there is any way to check and make sure if EPM was installed completely/correctly.
We were in the process of installing EPM, and on the last step, where it installs and takes a long time, we were doing some other stuff. During this time, since we did not use that server at all, we were logged off from that server.
when we logged in, there was no message acknowledging the EPM was installed or anything like that.
Does it mean that EPM was not installed successfully? or did it install and did not show the message?
is there any way to verify.
