Hi SAP Mentors,
We are installing SRM MDM Catalog. I needed some clarification regarding the same. The version for SRM MDM Catalog is 7.02. Do I need a SRM 7.02 server with MDM 7.1 installed on it , on which I will be putting SRM MDM Catalog?
Please let me know as we need to start installation Monday. The docs are not very clear.

Yes. You need to have same release including the patch level. We experienced similar scenario and resolved all issues only after syncing the release and SP level.

Error replicating customizing data to the repository (SRM MDM Catalog)

Hi Folks,
I am currently configuring SRM MDM catalog, and one of the initial steps is to replicate data from SRM to the repository.
After defining repositories and FTP servers, I am running step "start extraction".
Well, the result page prompts me for errors in the 3 different files it is trying to replicate:

The otehr 2 errors are the of the same type, just of different XML file.

For accessing the catalog, you have to define the external webservice with the config parameters in SRM System under transaction "SPRO"

SRM-MDM Catalog Installation/Landscape

Hi,
We are currently having the following landscape in place with regards to the SRM, MDM and SRM-MDM Catalog :
Server 1 : SRM 5.0 Running   (HP-UX)
Server 2:   Enterprise Portal running with MDM Content and SRM-MDM Catalog JAVA components (HP-UX)
Server 3:   Standard MDM Server installation (Windows 2K)
We have configured everything according to the notes and guides (including the guide from Sudhendu Pandey), but when we try to configure the Search UI in Webdynrpo, the java components cannot connect to the MDM host and we are getting just the connection failed error.
My questions are :
1)   Can we run with the above landscape or is it necessary to have the SRM-MDM Catalog Java components installed on the same server as MDM.
2)   Do we have problems with versioning of the MDM server and the SRM-MDM java components ? We already replaced the MDM_JAVA_API with the correct one, but I do not have a newer version of the other api.
3)   Do I need to configure anything on the MDM server to get this running ?

Apologies for my late reply, but I was travelling. Thanks for this tip. We were using the latest versions for the MDM Portal Content, but the API for the SRM-MDM catalog was different.
I have updated this API with the latest version (Patch 3 HF 1) and now I can logon to the MDM server and I see the MDM Repositories. However if I now try to logon to one of the repositories he gives me the same error that the Login has Failed. The user that I am using is the default one coming with the SRM-MDM repository (Admin).

SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 - Installation Process

I'm in the process of installing SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 but I'm not sure about the correct installation process.
The SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 installation guide indicates that the following instances are mandatory for SRM-MDM Catalog system:
1- Java system with the central instance, the central services instance, the database instance
2- MDM Server, and MDM Import Server
We have covered the first point by installing an SRM 7.0 JAVA system. Regarding the second requirement, I have some doubts in the way it should be completed. What we did so far was to install the SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 from the MDM 7.1 installation master. So, we now have two MDM server instances: MDS and MDIS.
I'm stuck now. I'm not sure on how to connect my SR-MDM system to the JAVA DB (created in step 1) to create a new MDM schema within it. This makes me wonder if I've followed the correct process. Could you please clarify and explain which steps should be performed to get my SRM-MDM system up and running? Actually my main concern is..Should I first install a MDM system as it's described in MDM IG, and after that perform the installation of the SRM-MDM catalog as I've already done in step 2?

Hi Diego.
The Installation Note Number for SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 is : 1177779. The recommended steps would be to follow how the Installation Guide recommends you to do so.
But still your assumption is correct. MDM landscapes and Java landscapes are both different set of categories to be installed to make the Catalog scenario to be successfull.
Step 1: Make sure you have the back end database server(SQL/Oracle/???) is installed.
Step 2: Make sure all the MDM components(MDS, MDIS, etc) is installed.
Step 3: Make sure Java WebAS is installed correctly.
Step 4: Now deploy the Catalog SCA and MDM Connector deployed in the Java WebAS.
Step 5: You can unarchive and load the repository.
Step 6: Try to launch the catalog using the URL provided to check and make sure if the connection is fine.
Also what Masa has mentioned is the communication path how the whole process is achieved technically and that doesn't mean that it has to be in the same order which he has mentioned. The below sequence is just an path to describe how the communication is achieved technically.
User -> Browser(Search UI deployed on AS Java) -> (Java API on AS Java) -> MDM Server -> MDM Repository -> DB
Relating Masa's path with the above steps
User ->
Browser(Search UI deployed on AS Java) -> Step 3 and 4
(Java API on AS Java) -> Step 3 and 4
MDM Server -> Step 2
MDM Repository -> Step5
DB-> Step 1

SRM -MDM Catalog Implementation

Hi All,
I am currently working on SRM-MDM catalog implementation and would like to clear a few queries regarding the same:
1. What are the different possible ways to transfer data from SRM to MDM?
2. In the configuration guide it is mentioned that if you want to send Contract, InfoRecords, Product Data then we have to use XI. Communication between SRM and XI will be using XI protocol. It means we have to create outbound proxy for triggering data from SRM to XI.
Is this correct please confirm. If yes do we have a standard proxy report to do the same.
3. In the Functional Documentation Guide for SRM-MDM catalog it is mentioned that to send contract data from SRM use transaction SRMMDM_CTR_TRANSFER. but though it shows the contract data, it is not able to send data to XI. Is some setting required for sending data to XI?
4. In Functional Documentation Guide for SRM-MDM catalog it is mentioned that to upload Supplier Data from SRM system to SRM MDM Catalog repository use Report ROS_SUPPLIER_SEND_TO_CATALOG. But while executing this report I m getting exception "Function module "BUPA_MWX_BDOC_BPS_FILL_CENTRAL" not found.".
How do I solve this?

you can use the import Manger of MDM to upload XML, CSV XSL data files
The connection from SRM to SRM-MDM is done via OCI 4.0.
If you want to replicate data from your backend R/3 system you have to use XI.
2. Please Refer to the installation guide of SRM-MDM there the connection between Backends and XI is expalained in detail.
3-4 . Have you depoyed every file of the istallation there is also a part to be deployed in SRM?

Decimal places in SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0

Hi experts,
Iu2019m using SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 and Iu2019ve an issue related to the decimal places configuration.
Our products are defined with 2 decimal places and after importing the records I can see them in Data Manager with the correct price information. However, when I access my catalog in EP, I can see all my records but without any decimal places. For instance, if I define a price 1.25 Eur for one product, in EP I have 1 Eur.
Can someone help me? Itu2019s really important that we can show the product correct price.

Hi,
My problem was in MDM Data Manager - currencies table. If you choose currencies table, select your currency and check if there are any decimal places defined.
You can also check in MDM Console price table u2013 amount u2013 decimal places.

I am working on SRM MDM Catalog 2.0. I need to make some changes in shopping cart create screen. My changes include
Renaming the label, deleting the tabs, changing the look and feel of the catalog page etc.,
Can any one guide me whether Is it possible to do any settings in the UI for any of these issues ?If not how can i go about it to make these chanegs in the shopping cart page? Or is there any other way to make these changes..

Hello Sreesha,
You can configure the look n feel of your Catalog Screen.
The SRM-MDM catalog business content, there are some scar files which you have deployed on the server.With the help of that scar file, you can access the search UI Catalog Screen from the link as mentioned below:
Http://servername:port/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
Just coneect with your MDM server by server name and password then select your repository.In the standard repository of SRM-MDM, there is alreardy a user as "Master" having role as "UI Configuratation Manager"
Just login with user as "Master" and pwd as blank.
then you can find the UI screen, there are so many functionality to configure your catalog screen.

Shopping list in SRM-MDM catalog?

What is the use of shopping list in SRM-MDM catalog?
I have created a new shopping list in the system. I have filled the name, description and other details in the new shopping list.
When I select my shopping list, the button u2018Add to shopping list u2018is still disabled. How we can add new items to a newly created shopping list? My understanding is that a shopping list is created to include different shopping items as favorite list?
What is the function of the button u2018Share/Unshareu2019 ?
Please, help me to understand the functionality of shopping list in SRM-MDM catalog 3.0?

You can use this function as a:
Template for orders that are made regularly
Search criterion
Prerequisites
Your User Interface (UI) Configuration Manager has given you shopping list authorization.
A shopping list must have at least one item in it to serve as a search criterion.
To display all items in a shopping list, the search criterion must be reset before the shopping list is selected.
This is because the search UI treats the shopping list as a search criterion. Consequently, any other active search criterion reduces the items displayed to a subset of all the items in the shopping list.
To display all shopping lists, including empty ones, on the Shopping List tab page, one of the following conditions must be met:
No other search criterion has been entered
The search has been reset
Activities
When a shopping list is selected as a search criterion, the system restricts the search by removing any items not included in the list from the search result.

SRM MDM Catalog (Subscreen Error)

I am facing an issue with the SRM MDM catalog.
We are currently implementing SRM-MDM catalog 1.0 SP1 Patch01 HF1.
Our MDM server version is MDM 5.5 SP5 Patch02 HF1.
The steps while creating a Shopping Cart are as follows:
- Log into SRM Shopping Screen.
- Select the SRM MDM Catalog
- Inside the SRM MDM catalog select an item and click on the shopping basket to add the item to the shopping cart.
- Once I click on the shopping basket we are getting the below error

What has happened?
The URL http://mb1es1001.idcsap.com:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbpsc01/ was not called due to an error.

The error occurred on the application server MB1ES1001_SR6_00 and in the work process 1 .

What can I do?
If the termination type was RABAX_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination in the system SR6 in transaction ST22.
If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server MB1ES1001_SR6_00 in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 1 in transaction ST11 on the application server MB1ES1001_SR6_00 . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.
If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

Check the SAP Note 967088 and download the configuration guide from SAP official website (SAP Marketplace - OSS Login required). Did you raised any message with SAP as well on this yet. If not, please do the same for faster processing of your query.
Please check what all error logs appear in SLG1 and RZ10 and RZ20 transactions in this case.
Which SRM/CCM/MDM versions, support packs are you using ?
FYI, Catalog names are case sensitive.

SRM MDM Catalog Multiple Imgae (field) display in UI

Hi MDMers,
I have configured the SRM-MDM Catalog and I had done Import data, mapping data, OCI, SRM call structure and UI settings. Everything works fine when we call the Catalog in SRM.
My SRM -MDM Catalog needs certain custom fields which should hold some Button indicator for item classification (Red, Amber, and Green)
Already we used MDMSRM_IMAGE field to have pictures of Item and mapped in Display view in UI manager.
I tried one more custom field for the Image to hold this buttons (.gif file) but unfortunately it is not bringing the indictor images, just place holder is exist without indicator image.
Could you please help me and give some work around solution to bring that Button Indicator in My Catalog view for each item.
Please light up something on TEXT HTML, TEXT BLOCK, HYPERLINK and mime type
Is it possible to have the .gif Image by using above functionality? If so please guide mates.

I have tried to set up hyperlink for my images in SRM-MDM catalog.But no luck.
1. My MIME Type is GIF.
2. My url is
http://fssomsdits01.forensic.gov.uk/eMerge/images
The URL path contains my Images file like GREEN.GIF and RED.GIF
Where I have to display the 2 images according to the catalog Item.
As per forum discussion I tried the steps.
I declared the MIME Type & Hyperlink type (rendered) in Look up table.
I have mapped the fields in Catalog item table for MIME Type<hyper link> & URL<hyper Link> and Hyper Link.
The data is just replicating in DATA manager, but not displaying in UI as image.
Please can you help me to sort it out?
Just explain me how to enable the Hyperlink field to line item.
The steps to import thre Mime type/hyperlinku2026look up table and Qualified table.

Unable to add Item to Shopping Cart in SRM-MDM Catalog

Hi Guys,
I am using SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0, MDM 7.1 and SRM 7.0. I have done all the configurations in SRM as well as in Portal like External Web Service creation, Assigning Catalog in Organisational Plan, UI Config and OCI mapping.
I am able to see catalog on SRM-MDM web dynpro UI; however I am not able to select any item in the Catalog (the Checkbox is grayed out) and also I am not able to change the Quantity of any Item (by default it is 1). The Action column is also blank for all the items.
In the Catalog, both Select and Quantity Columns are in disabled mode. I am not able to edit their values.
I have tried all options in UI Config but no luck. Request you to please suggest if something needs to be done with the Config or I need to apply some SAP note.

Setting up SRM-MDM catalog 2.0 in PI 7.0

Iu2019m configuring the scenario for SRM-MDM catalog 2.0 and in the IR when I open the configuration scenario SRM_MDM_Catalog I get the following error:
u201CSoftware component version with GUID 44345e20-149b-11da-ab19-eb7a0a114c15 does not existu201D
I went to a demo system and I found that this GUID belongs to the SWC SRM SERVER 6.0. So, it means this object SRM_MDM_Catalog from SWC SRM-MDM catalog is referencing some object in the SWC SAP SRM SERVER 6.0.. However, we are not working with SRM 6.0 but with 5.5 releases.
I also went to service marketplace and I didnu2019t find the package for SWC SAP SRM SERVER 6.0.
Without this SWC I canu2019t skip this error!! Anyone has faced this issue before? How can I get the PI content for SAP SRM SERVER 6.0.?

I fixed by myself.
It seems the XI content "SAP SRM SERVER 6.00" is not yet available for customers, but a SAP friend sent me the content. Now the problem it's fixed.

SRM MDM CATALOG VER10

Hi All,
There is a requirement at my customer end to have configurable product for catalog items.. it is possible???? As per my understanding it is not....
Configurable Product like: When some with employee role tries to but computer / laptop... he should be in a position to select from drop down menu in the shopping cart menu as which specification of HDD he can select 60 GB, 80 GB, 100 GB etc as maintained as characteristics multi value; similarly like selection of Display etc...
Please let me know if you have alternatives or work around's etc...

There are several options.
1. E-Form
OCI has Business type = E-Form option. You can develop your own UI and transfer the values by BADI. There is Business card sample in the system.
SE80, Internet Service BBP_FREEFORM
SE19, BADI implementation BBP_BUSINESSCARDS
SE18, BADI definition BBP_CAT_CALL_ENRICH
2. Supplier SKU
If supplier provides SKU, you can put all SKU in the catalog. Memory and Disk should be attributes/Characteristics.
3. Coming SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0

MDM Server Password Parameter in SRM Web Service for SRM MDM Catalog 2.0

Hi Experts,
We have password set on our MDM server. I am little confused about how to define MDM server password parameter in external Web service Call structure in SRM System for SRM MDM Catalog 2.0.
Will Catalog webservice work, if we don;t define password for MDM server in webservice??if No, then please let me know how to define MDM server password in SRM websevice.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Shiv,
The MDM Server password is needed when you are changing Webdynpro UI Configuration.
For catalogs, all you need is the repository userid/password parameters in the call structutre.
