Installation conflicts: Bridge CS 5 vs. CS 6 ?

I have downloaded Bridge CS6 but the CS5 version is still running. What’s going wrong? (Win 7/64)

You probably have CS5 set to autoload on startup (preferences/advanced) so it is running in the background.

  • How uninstall Magic Mouse software? due Wacom installer conflict?

I am quite happy with my Magic Mouse but I am 90% certain it is causing the latest Wacom update installer to fail.
I have three OS partitions on my Mac Pro:
    1. Main boot drive: Installed magic mouse....OK, then installed latest Wacom update....failed.
    2. Clone of main boot drive: Installed Wacom update...OK, then installed magic mouse...OK, both working.
    3. Utilities OS: Installed wacom update....OK, then installed magic mouse....OK, both working.
So any help uninstalling the magic mouse mouse software so I can put the wacom update on, then reinstall magic mouse, would be very welcome.
    Thanks

    HI Mike,
Try repairing disk permissions and then try the Wacom software install.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Something I learned years ago with Wacom and Apple mice. Keep the tablet and pen away from the mouse. If I try to use the pen within a foot of the mouse, the entire system freezes. There's definitely a conflict between tablet software and wireless devices. Not sure if that's a help to you or not...
Also, when trying to install the Wacom software, turn the mouse off. See if you can get the Wacom software installed that way.
And if you installed the Magic Mouse update here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL950
Open System Preferences / Software Updates - Installed Software. If that update is listed there, delete it. It might be the culprit easy enough to reinstall.

  • Installer says Bridge is open, fails to install.  Not open.

When I try to update my Bridge in CS5, along with all the other updates, the installer tells me I must shut down Bridge before proceeding.  Bridge is not open,
doesn't appear in Task Mgr, etc.  I manually Dl'd and tried again.  Same thing.  How do I shut down a program that isn't open?
    Thanks

Try to disable the option to start Adobe Bridge at login:
In Bridge CS5 or CS4, choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe BridgeCS5 or CS4 > Preferences (Mac OS).
    Choose Advanced.
    Deselect Start Bridge At Login.
    Restart you system

  • CS5 Design Premium Installation Adobe Bridge problem

When I try and install CS5 Design Premium it fails because it wants me to close Adobe Bridge (which is not open) and won't let me go any further. I tried uninstalling CS3 but it won't let me because it wants me to close Adobe Bridge.
    What Now?

There shoult be a Bridge icon in the system tray (bottom right corner), close Bridge from here and run the uninstaller or if you don't find this icon you can kill process Bridge.exe but this is not always the best way to overcome a problem. I would recommend closing the application from system tray icon.
    Thanks,

  • Problem with newly installation of Bridge

I can not get a newly installed Bridge program to connect to the internet, update or display thumbnails.  CS6 runs fine as does Camera Raw.  This is a new computer running Windows 8.1

Right, just icons with the NEF designation and none of the Meta data from the file.  I run Bridge (which in my opinion is a lot more than a file cabinet) all the time on another computer.  I am aware of the Help - Update command, but when I try to perform an update I get an error message that I am not connected to the Internet (which I am) and that my user does not have admin privileges (which it does).
I appreciate the help.  Please give me anything ideas or I'll have to suffer through the Chat help on Monday.
    Thanks

  • Dreamweaver Installation Conflict

I bought dreamweaver cs3 a couple of months ago and installed
it on my computer. Since then my computer was wiped out and xp
re-formatted. Now when i insert the disk and go to the "setup" part
it says "conflicts with dreamweaver cs3" and so i figured that
parts of the old program files were still existent. However there
was no dreamweaver when i opened up "add/remove programs" and i
couldnt find any "uninstall" files. So i manually deleted all files
and foldes with "dreamweaver" in them... Tried to install it again
but still the same message. Can anybody PLEASE help? THANKS

    Did you check your registry?
Odd thing is that if you reformatted your computer there
shouldn't be anything left from the old setup.

  • Why can´t I see Minibridge in Photoshop after the installation of Bridge

I have successfully installed Bridge on my Macbook Air (64 bit) (Trial version of Bridge).
Now I expected to be using Minibride from within Photoshop (CC 2014) (also a trial version), but the Minibridge option is not shown under "Files - View in Minibridge"
I have learned that if I didn´t have the option under "Files", I could activate it under "Window - Extensions), But that button is not active.
PS! I have a Danish version. I hope I have the names of the buttons correct.
Hope somebody can help, as the option of viewing Minibridge inside Photoshop is my number one reason for buying Bridge.
    Kaj Krogstrup

The word from Adobe is that "Mini Bridge" has been "Retired" as part of a "Spring Cleaning Process" because it is "Not Compatible" with the 2014 Architecture.
Mini Bridge is still functional in previous versions but the Development Work has ceased.
Mini Bridge is "No More"..............I missed it too and that is why I started to do some research

  • How to resolve software installation conflict

I used to install free packages from sunfreeware.com on my Solaris 8 box. Now I've downloaded Solaris Software Companion CD 07/01 from SUN. I found that the emacs (v20.7) that comes with the CD is newer than that from sunfreeware.com (emacs-20.4-sol8-sparc-local.gz) So I tried to "pkgrm" the old one and "pkgadd" the new version.
However, during "pkgadd", there is a message:
    WARNING:
The <SFWncur> package "ncurses (new curses) library" is
a prerequisite package and should be installed.
However, in my box, I've already installed "ncurses-5.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz" from sunfreeware.com and that software resides in /usr/local
Is there any way that I can install SFWemacs using SMCncurs without installing SFWncurs?
Thanks for your kind help in advance.

Windows Firewall won't block installations. You can use group policy, check out Using Software Restriction Policies to Protect Against Unauthorized Software
As well, as a security best practice users who should not be allowed to install applications should not be members of the Power Users or Administrators local machine groups. As members only of the Users local machine group they do not have permission to
    install applications.

  • ITunes installation conflict

Installed new Nano on computer, which already had older version of iTunes and Ipod for another Ipod. iTunes won't install, saying "later version already exists". Tried removing the temp folder stuff, as shown in other links, now the installation error is the 1628 failure. I can't delete the iTunes from the C drive, and reinstall iTunes. While trying to delete from C, it gives an error that "access denied, disk may be full or write-protected, or application currently running", so I can't erase it and reinstall. Any other ideas?

Morning Matt. Do you have more that one user running ?? If so one user only. Try to delete from add/remove in control panel. If it will not delete , repair and then use add/remove to delete. Also make sure you are in admin status to load , etc. If all is deleted , set you system restore to make sure you can roll back. then load QT as a stand alone down load. If no errors , then iTunes. hope this helps.

I have a customer who installed AS 10g on Red Hat 3.0 with one house for infrastructure and another for middle tier. It is going out and discovering other middle tiers they have in production on Windows. It is causing port conflicts. OC4J and Forms keep stopping and restarting.

  • Posible installation conflict

    Hi,
I have the next configuration in a production environment:
    - Java Enterprise 2003 on a solaris 9 intel (first box)
    - Directory Server 5.2 on a solaris 9 sparc (second box)
    - Fresh new Directory Server 5.2 installation on solaris 9 sparc (third box) (not in production)
This is working fine but I want a backup, so I installed another Directory Server in a third box and I want to install
Java Enterprise 2003 in the second box as a backup server (this box has enough procesor and memory) in case the first box fail.
Could this damage my production Directory Server installation in the second box?
    Thanks,

    ok,
I am installing in another location but the installer warnning me because needs to update shared commponents:
    SUNWj3man
    SUNWj3rt
    SUNWj3dvx
    SUNWj3rtx
    SUNWj3dev
Will I have problems if I upgrade those?
As I told you, I have Directory Server 5.2 in the second box and the administration server too. Java Enterprise Installer give me the option to install another administration server and so I selected this option because I am installing in another location. Is that correct?
    Thanks in advance,

  • [SOLVED] XFCE 4.6 installation conflicts: xfce-mcs-manager obsolete.

I am running Arch Linux on LXDE and would like to try the brand new XFCE 4.6. It seems most of the packages have arrived in the extra repo but when I try:
    # pacman -S xfce4
    I get:
    looking for inter-conflicts...
    error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
    :: xfce4-settings: conflicts with xfce-mcs-manager
    I don't find xfce-mcs-manager version 4.6.0.
I just had a look on xfce wiki:
    xfce-mcs-manager
This component is obsolete (superseded by xfconf) and will be removed in 4.6!
The dependency needs to be removed.

I said no to install the whole xfce4 group and then said no to following packages:
    :: Install libxfce4mcs from group xfce4? [Y/n] n
    :: Install xfce-mcs-manager from group xfce4? [Y/n] n
    :: Install xfce-mcs-plugins from group xfce4? [Y/n] n
and proceeded to install and it works. Posting this running XFCE 4.6 on Arch Linux.

  • CS3/CS4 Creative Suites Web Premium installation conflicts

Scenario: I installed Creative Suite CS4 Web Premium using Windows XP Pro with SP3 and all the required computer specifications while I still had Creative Suite CS3 Web Premium on the computer. All went well for a while and then Flash CS3 started acting up by not being able to close the program without using Task Manager. I decided to uninstall Flash CS3 (deactivated it first) and tried reinstalling it.
Problem: I haven't been able to reinstall it. It seems that CS3 and CS4 use the same Shared Components and when the reinstall is completed, the install report shows that Flash CS3 was not installed as well as several Shared Components of CS4. During the reinstall of Flash CS3, the install occasionally asks for the CS4 disk, so I remove the CS3 disk from my primary DVD drive, insert the CS4 disk, click OK and then it asks for the CS3 disk again (ok, that's fine). At the end of the reinstall, the install report says the the shared components failed because the reinstall was looking for the CS4 shared components on my secondary DVD drive. So I then put the CS3 disk again in my primary DVD drive and put the CS4 disk in my secondary DVD drive and tried the reinstall again. It failed again and the report now says its looking for the CS4 shared components in my primary DVD drive.
Does anyone know what is going on here? Thank you for any help you may be able to supply.
You might ask why I don't just move completely to CS4 and the reason is that I'm trying to finish a project started in CS3. I could move completely to CS4, but I should be able to have both programs on my computer. At least, I would think so.

  • Bridge CS4 will not update to Camera Raw 5.7 on one of my computers.

Bridge (CS4) will properly display my Nikon NEFs (from my Nikon D3 & D3S) on my old Mac Pro (Lion 10.75) but only the NEFs from the D3 are displayed on the exact same program on my MacBook Pro Retina - Mavericks).
I have followed Adobe's instructions perfectly, over and over again, but no matter what I try (and I did try some variations) I cannot update from Camera RAW Preferences.Version 5.0.0.178 on the MacBookPro Retina.
The Camera RAW preferences Version on the older Mac Pro computer's identical copy of Bridge CS4 is Version 5.7.0.213.
I tried opening and installing a download of Camera_Raw_5_7.dmg from Adobe and I also tried dropping in the Camera Raw plugin file from the older computer but nothing works. I have emptied the cache several times.
I dont know if this is significant but when I first started trying to do this, I could not find the Plug-Ins folder in the Adobe file on the MacBook Pro Retina, so I copied the one from the Mac Pro's Adobe folder.
Please help. I can only use Bridge on my older desktop computer because of this problem.
    Thank you.
    Jan

Well, Jan, over the years I've helped many Mac users with this precise problem, and I even posted screen shots showing the path to the correct plug-in folder for ACR.  However, in your case all those images won't help and I won't be able to generate new ones for you for one simple reason: I do not use Mavericks and never will because my Mac Pro desktops cannot go above Lion, FORTUNATELY. Mavericks is still cr@p at this point.
All I can do is try to clarify a few misconceptions for you:
    AutoMatters wrote:
…I read that about the root level library when I first tried to follow the instructions from Adobe and I thought that I was doing exactly that. Instead of the library associated with my name, I found the library associated with my hard drive. I suspect that I have not yet even seen the root level library…
Jan, that is the ROOT LEVEL Library.
Getting back to your advice, I do not understand what you mean by mounting the .dmg file as if it were a DVD or external hard drive.
I mean just that.  A Disk Image file (.dmg) is a virtual disk, like a virtual DVD.  You double click on that file in the Finder and it will then mount just as if you had inserted a DVD into your computer.  It will then show you the contents it carries.  I will not be at my computers for a few weeks, so I can't be sure about all that the Disk Image for that update shows; but somewhere in there will be the ACR Plug-in.  That's what you need to copy from the Disk Image to your hard drive and install it in its correct location, NOT THE BLOODY .dmg file, for goodness sakes!
Do you understand that once you are at the ROOT LEVEL Library you DO NOT go to the Plug-ins folder therein?  Read the instructions again.  What you want is to continue the path through the Application Support folder /Adobe / Plug-ins / etc.
This old screen shot may help. Command or Control-Click on the thumbnail to see the full image in a new window, then scroll horizontally; it is a VERY wide image:
Also, if I delete the Plug-ins folder that I copied from my other computer's installation of Bridge CS4. Should I reinstall the entire CS4 suite from the original disks and start all over again. If so, I read somewhere that I will need to somehow deactivate my serial number from the products as installed on my MacBook Pro so that I may reinstall it.
Delete anything you may have copied yourself only if you are 100% sure what that is. But DO NOT REINSTALL ANYTHING without first uninstalling using the Adobe UNINSTALLER that was installed in your Utilities folder inside your Applications folder.
Whatever possessed you to go around copying folders from a different Mac OS version? ???  That is insane! Geez…
Why the heck do you keep talking about Bridge? ??? !!!  Bridge has absolutely NOTHING to do with the installation of ACR.  NOTHING!
ACR is installed at the OS level and can be hosted indistinctly by Photoshop or by Bridge from the same location.
Bridge is totally out of the loop in this discussion, just as it is when you are using ACR hosted by Bridge.  All Bridge does is call upon the appropriate application, whether this be Photoshop, Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), Illustrator or even Microsoft Word and hand it the file, period.  You could use ACR for years without ever launching Bridge, even without having Bridge installed. Ever.

  • Is it possible to install Bridge CS6 now I am on CC2014?

    Hi there
Along with many people I miss the very useful thumbnail output feature from Bridge CS6 that allowed me to make a pdf showing thumbnails of all images  EVEN INSIDE SUBFOLDERS from a given folder.
The function seems to be broken in CC2014.
This was one of the key tools and uses I had for Bridge, would love to get it back!
Apparently CS6 is the last version of Bridge to allow this, and I have a new machine with new CC2014 installed on it, how on earth can I add this older version of Bridge to my setup? It doesnt show up in the 'previous versions' filter in theCC installer...

Matthew A you can install Bridge CS6 as part of Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6, or InDesign CS6.  It was not available as a separate installation until Bridge CC.  You can find details on how to install the previous version of these software titles at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
Please be aware that your file associations will likely become associated to whatever CS6 application you installed.  If you wish to use CC 2014 you will want to adjust your file associations.
