Installation Directory for AIR

Is there a setting in the RoboHelp Packager for AIR that can control where the .exe file is placed upon installation? My AIR help always installs in the C:Program Files directory. I would like it to install in C:\Program Files\Hyland (a submenu off the existing Program Files).

Your help will automatically be put into a folder with the name of the help file. In the Program Menu Folder field you can specify a sub-folder name such as Hyland and then you help would be something like C:\Program Files\Hyland\Help A. Without specifying that it would be C:\Program Files\Help A.

Creative Cloud - BUG Changing Installation Directory for Apps

Which stated the issue I am experiencing. In the preferences of the creative cloud desktop program I changed the installation directory to D drive because I have my main hard drive partitioned and the programs would take up too much space on C. Regardless of the change in preferences the applications were still installing to my C drive. I tried restarting and reinstalling and nothing seemed to work.
Finally I decided to reallocate my D partition back to C, I have yet to complete this because I am waiting for all the data on D to be transferred to an external drive so I can recombine it to C without losing data ( I don't know if this is necessary, I haven't recombined partitions in the operating system before, but just to be safe)
ANYWAY
As I am waiting for the transfer (Over 120gbs takes a while) I changed the installation directory in the Creative Cloud preferences back to C and went ahead and installed the program I was trying to prior to all this. Guess What? It installed to my D drive!!!
This isn't a serious bug for me, just incredibly annoying and causing a lot of extra work on my part just to install the program I wanted. However for someone who requires a different directory to install to and cannot rearrange their computer to accommodate this bug I could see it being more serious. Has anyone else had this issue and did you find a solution? Thanks.
P.S. Adobe you rock, I hope your other CC programs don't feel rushed for release like your installer does

And now the word is out that you are raising subscription prices after the first year? Who do you think you are? You HURT peoples ability to earn a living! ADOBE CUSTOMER: The Russian cracked version of PS 2014 will have to do on another clients machine until you have a total new WORKING release. I'm tired of being your company's test pig, doing the boiler plate cleaner routines, and having the same failures. It's one thing to have broken software, but NOT acceptable to treat customers the way I have been treated, and then, be greedy on a remediation offer from you.

Need detailed instructions on how to enable " Check for Updates" option on the Firefox installation directory for Windows XP.

I have Firefox 2.0 (running Windows XP) and want to update it to 3.6, but the "Check for updates" option on the Help menu is grayed out and need to enable this option by changing permissions on the Firefox installation directory. I need detailed instructions on how to access the Firefox installation directory and change the permissions.

The install.xml in the "Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 Installer/deploy" folder will have the INSTALLDIR property. You can change this property to your custom location.

Change installation directory for Anyconnect client

Hi guys,
Is possible change installation path for web-deploy of Cisco Anyconnect 3.x or 4.0 installed from ASA?
In my case, I need upgrade client from version 2.5 to 3.X or 4.0 and I need achive directory like in 2.5 version.
Version 2.5 directory: "c:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client"
Version 3.X directory: "c:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client"

Sorry but I don't believe Cisco provides the ability to modify the destination directory.

Thanks for your helpful response. I think you're right that the database management steps would happen on app startup after checking a version number stored in the DB.
What I'm wondering, however, is if there's a best practice for managing these incremental changes to the DB. My current direction is to create a class MigrationsManager, that creates an array of class Migration ( with a single migrate() function ) to manage each necessary and incremental change. Meanwhile, a "migrations" table has one column "version" with a UTC timestamp as an integer and is updated on each migration.
Rails does migrations with up() and down() functions on their base migration class, but the down() function isn't applicable since I can't imagine I would be rolling back earlier migrations on a user's DB.
In the end, I guess I'm just fishing of the best way of managing the different scenarios encountered when 3 years down the road you have an audience with all kinds of different versions of your app/db because of differences in how assiduous they were in updating to the most recent version.

Modify installation procedure for AIR apps with new certificates?

Hey all,
My company just got a signed certificate for the AIR application I've been working on. Unfortunately, when users try to install this new version, they get the following error message now:
I understand why this is: The application doesn't recognize the one with the old certificate and won't forcibly override it.

My boss wants me to find a way to make the transition between certificates seamless (ie. just reinstall over the old one as if they both had the same certificate - no uninstall, no save to new location, no unusual tasks for the users). Is this possible? If so, how? I know it's a heck of a question to ask

You should never let your certificate expire before renewing it or getting a new one.
Did you get a new certificate or renew the old one?
If new, then your users must uninstall the old version and then install your new version. Any data your apps stores in the EncryptedLocalStore will be inaccessible. Any files your application has stored in the application storage directory will have to be copied to the new storage directory by the updated app.
If you renewed the certificate, then presumably you are getting this error because the Certificate Authority has changed their own certificates used to sign their issued certs. If this is the case, they might (for some thousands of dollars) be willing to perform a key ceremony to bring the old certificate out of retirement and reissue your new certificate so that it has the same identity as the old one.

Why dont you move SQL server user data file and log file from C drive to other drives this will create space. It would require a SQL Server restart

I am getting an installation error for Adobe AIR

I am getting an installation error for Adobe AIR when I try to update Pandora and it will not allow Pandora to update to the latest version. I have gotten this same msg when I tried to updaqte a program that uses Microsoft server. The error msg says see author.

I would use highlight execution (light bulb on LabVIEW toolbar) to see exactly what AI Single Scan VI is causing the error. You could also use breakpoints on each wire right before the AI Single Scan VI is called so that you can turn highlight execution on to see if the call generates an error.
Another suggestion is to create a new VI and copy and paste all the VIs from your current VI to this new VI. This might correct a problem if the VI is corrupt.
Finally, you could use the AI Config, AI Start, AI Read VIs instead of the AI Single Scan. I doubt there is something wrong with the VI, it is morelikely a corrupt VI. Recreating the VI will morelikely fix this problem.

I did spent half day to sort out the issue. I have searched forums,google and notes but couldnt find the answer for Windows/SQL2005.
This morning I have finally solved the issue
I tried to do domain installation as local administrator but I didnt have access to sidadm profiles. When domain admin given me the access to sidadm profiles it worked.

After connecting a Hanns.G HL269 monitor to my MacBook air I entered the disc for the Installation Guide for windows 7 that came with the monitor. Where canI obtain the installation guide for a Mac?

Those are two Q&A steps from the manufacturer's website. The first one indicating that the "driver" CD is not necessary. The second one is worth following to make sure the monitor is behaving properly. In addition you can go into System Preferences > Displays and then the Arrangement tab to see if the monitor responses from there.

I am using html to make a website and want to use a png on my macbook but need the root directory for the image source. I am not sure how to get this, can anyone tell me how?

If you are hosting a web server from your Mac, you should place the images inside /Library/WebServer/Documents or inside your user Sites folder. The www user will not be able to access a file from anywhere else unless you give it permission to do so.
