thanks Mirza for quick reply....
do i need to install it again or just modify kernel or just running fix up script is fine?
You need not reinstall.
Running the fixup script would be sufficient.

  • Oracle11g Installation - Doubts regarding crashing

    Hi,
Im planning to install Oracle11g on my laptop. (3GB RAM, Inter Core 2 Duo, 250 GB HD)
As Im doing this for first time, Im little scared and have some doubts.
    1. If due to some reason installation crashes, is there a chance of me losing my other data in HD.
    2. If yes, is it okey to install a virutal PC and then try installing Oracle in it.
Please let me know your suggestions.
    Thanks,

    1. If due to some reason installation crashes, is there a chance of me losing my other data in HD.No you will not loose any other data (of course, that would depend on the type of crash but a failure of Oracle installer will not wipe out your HDD).
    2. If yes, is it okey to install a virutal PC and then try installing Oracle in it.Yes but do not expect performance out of this configuration.

  • Installation doubts for EP

    Hi all,
I want to install a sap portal (With Netwaver studio) for my server, so that I will be able to run WD ABAP application on this portal. I check many threads & it suggest me to install:
    1) EP 7.0
    2) NWCE 7.1
Will I install NWDS also with these. Or suggest what will be the suitable combination.
    Thanks
    Sanket

    Hi,
I think NWDS is a separate installation only. Check this guide. It would give you all required info.

  • SAP B1 Server Installation doubt

    Hi experts,
I have installed SAP B1 client,ServerTools,SDK in C Drive. And also Microsoft Visual Studio ,SQL Server in C Drive. While installing B1 Server in C Drive ,I  got a message like there is not enough space to install.
So, I have tried to install in G Drive which have 50 GB free space, here also it shows the same not enough space to install message.
Is it taking C Drive automatically even it is mentioned in G Drive? or Is Visual Studio,SQL and all SAP should be in same Drive?
    Thanks & Regards,

Hi, How much is the free space available in C Drive. the Operating system also needs some free space, may be 20% of the total Drive allocation is the practice.

  • Doubt   regarding   Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) installation

    hello
    my pc has following configurtion
    256mb ram
    60gb hdd
    p4 2.4 ghz
    win xp pro sp2
I want to know if my pc will be able to run " Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) " standard edition on it.
I thought of increasing RAM, but it is not feasible.
I know i could run oracle XE, but can my pc also run the standard edition.
I could not find minimum hardware requirements for standard edition on this site.
anyway, i will use it for sql and and other advanced concepts in RDBMS which i may learn during my course in database. so i prefer standard edition instead of XE
    any help greatly appreciated
    thanks in advance

I suggest you not to doubt   regarding   Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) installation.
It is not necessary. If you don't receive an answer within a reasonable amount of time you could edit your thread with whatever ( a period is enough) to raise it to the top once again.
It becomes difficult for us to track duplicated threads and unnecessarily duplicates efforts.

  • Doubts about installation and features

I'm a newbie on WebCenter Portal Framework and I have to build a PoC with some features like CMS, online collab, chat, analytics, single sign on, search engine and two sites. However, I don't know what should be installed in order to provide all these features.
Is there a integrated product suite or should I install WebCenter Content, WebCenter Portal, WebCenter Sites and WebCenter social separately ?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi.
For your PoC first you need to know what you want exactly, web site? intranter portal?, collaboration?.
If you want websites probably your solution is only WebCenter Sites.
If you want "two sites" in a collaboration intranet your solution is WebCenter Portal : Spaces.
In the case of WebCenter Portal : Spaces you need to install WebCenter Suite (includes WebCenter Content, Portal, Discussions, Activities, Portlets...).
A PoC of your functionallity could be achieved by:
    - Use WebCenter Portal : Spaces and create two spaces to simulate your two sites.
    - CMS: Install and configure WebCenter Content for your WebCenter Portal : Spaces solution. Create one or two type of contents and create Content Presenter Templates to show them.
    - Collaboration: With WebCenter Portal Suite includes Collaboration Server based on Jive forums. Configure it for use it with WebCenter Portal : Spaces.
    - Chat: Read official documentation for how to integrate different chat providers to WebCenter Portal : Spaces.
    - Analytics; With WebCenter Portal Installation includes Activities Service. Configure the collector for WebCenter Portal : Spaces and show metrics with OOTB Task Flows.
    - SSO: Install Oracle OAM for SSO. Configure WebCenter Portal : Spaces for OAM SSO. You'll need webserver too (OHS or Apache).
    - Search: For a default search you can use WebCenter Default Search Adapter. If you need a powerfull search engine install Oracle SES (Secure Enterprise Search).
    I hope this help you.
    Regards.

  • HFM Installation , UDL Doubt

    Hi,
I am trying to install the HFM 9.3.1 in one server called Appserver and my database is in another server called dbserver. My doubt is while configuring HFM its asks for the data file link file (beside DCOM user info). As i dont have the Oracle in my Appserve so i am not able to see the * Oracle Provider for OLE DB* while creating the UDL file. So can i create the UDL file in DB server in a shared folder then can i access from the Appserve as the servers were in network. Or can i install the oracle client in Appserver and create the UDL in Appserver it self and use it
Please suggest me if anybody have other option
    Regards
    KumarK

You definitely have to install and configure the Oracle client on the application server and also create the UDL on appserver. The OLEDB interface has to be on the server that runs HFM.

    Hi JGAmac,
I recently posted concerning the same issue, see "fans not working", for now I totally agree with the answer from Ned Snowing, we should consider us one of the lucky once.
I installed temperature monitor, the iStat pro widget and a temperature widget by Marcel Bresink. For now I dont trust the iStat pro widget to much, it never shows my fans are on, but after doing a complete re-install, reset PRAM and PMU, there is little else we can do, to my knowledge. My temperature never goes above 64°C recently I did a NVRAM reset and now it seems to stay under 58°C. I am currently in Asia where daily averages reach 35° and without airco. So I also have problems to keep my keyboard dry.

  • Doubts regarding Installation of OAS 10.1.3.3 cluster

    Hi,
I am a beginner with respect to OAS. I need to install OAS 10.1.3.3 clusters(two nodes) in OEL 5.
Is it essential to install OAS Infrastructure (Identity Management and Repository) for configuring Clustered OAS?
Also while I install OAS should I configure both the instances as "Configure this is an administrative OC4J instance" ? In the Oracle documentation they have recommended configuring only one of them as administrative OC4J instance?
Also is it necessary to have both the instances with the same name ? This is also recommended by Oracle.
As I proceed with the installation there is an option asking for "Configure this instance as part of an Oracle Application Server Topology". Also it asks for OAS cluster discovery address ? Is this address a specific address or a random multicast address shared by the servers?
    Thanks

These two instances are not clustered . One instance in this machine is clustered with an instance of another machine.
I've installed another OAS 10.1.3.1 in the same machine to support a different environment since the server had good amount of memory, disk space and processor speed to support two servers.
I did check Apache logs but there was no error.

  • Doubts in Endeca installation

    I have below doubts:
    1. I have installed Integrator Server. But how to configure an external db connection to replace apache derby db which is used by default
    2. I have installed Integrator server on Tomcat .If I install studio using tomcat. Will they use same tomcat or different tomcat?
    3. For studio how can we use an alternate database to replace default embedded Hypersonic database for production.
Can someone please let me know their comments for above
    Thank you so much.
    Regards,
    Amrit

    Hi Brett,
I went though dataintegartorserver .pdf but didn't understood what I really should do to Configure an external DB connection to replace embedded Apache Derby DB used by default. For using external connection as Oracle it was mentioned that
If you use properties file for configuration, specify these parameters: jdbc.driverClassName,
    jdbc.url, jdbc.username, jdbc.password, jdbc.dialect. For example:
    jdbc.driverClassName=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
    jdbc.url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:1521:db
    jdbc.username=user
    jdbc.password=pass
    jdbc.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect
Do not forget to add jar with JDBC driver to the application server classpath.
Since CloverETL Server version 1.2.1, dialect org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect is no
longer available. Please use org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect instead.
These are privileges which have to be granted to schema used by CloverETL Server:
    CONNECT
    CREATE SESSION
    CREATE/ALTER/DROP TABLE
    CREATE/ALTER/DROP SEQUENCE
where are these properties file? org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect where is this file?
