I am a ,oyal HP fan for years....I am the orginal owner of the laser jet for about one year. Finally took the leap to a laser from ink... I can not find my original CD and paperwork. Am sending a screen shot of the isse?  I get to about 75 % installed and I get this message.  Been trying for  a few days nows.  Trying to reinstall drivers.   I lost all drivers when trying to fix the scanner that stopped working. Now all is deleted.  Need immediate help please.   Please reinstate my confidence and value of these HP  forums. Thank you very much, Steve

I received a suggestion from an HP engineer, he suggested the following.  Please post back here if temporarily removing the Universal Print Driver does (or does not) resolve the issue: Could we check and ask to uninstall UPD from the system and then try install the Printer. 1. From the Program and Features     a. Go to Control Panel>Program and Features     b. Look for "HP Universal Printing PCL5" or HP Universal Printing PCL6"     c. Select and click uninstall.     d. Restart the computer     e. Install the HP Laser  Printer     f. Install UPD and UPD Printer if required. 2. From Print Server Properties in Devices and Printers or Printers (Vista)     a. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers or Printers (Vista)     b.    Vista - Right Click in the Window in a blank space and click "Server Properties"             Win 7 and above - Select any printer and look Bar below the Address Bar, click "Print Server Properties"     c. Click Drivers Tab     d. Click "Change Driver Settings" below the add button (skip if "Change Driver Settings" button is missing)      e. Look for "HP Universal Printing PCL5" or HP Universal Printing PCL6"     f. Select and click remove.     g. Select "Remove Driver and Driver Package" and click OK.     h. Restart the computer     i. Install the HP Laser  Printer     j. Install UPD and UPD Printer if required.

  • Error "print driver host for 32bit applications has stopped working"

Got this error when trying to "print" a gmail message to a pdf file. After some research (trial and error) I found that in my case this message is due to the subject line of the message generating an invalid Windows file name. Using the subject line to generate the filename is how GMail decides to generate the file name. I guess this is as good a strategy as any. I cannot think of a better strategy for GMail (would not want that "feature" changed).
Solution: Forwarded message to myself with a subject line that does not generate an invalid Windows file name and then "printed" that forwarded message.
Software: Adobe Acrobat Pro. OS: Win 7 64-bit. Application: Chrome accessing GMail. But I conjecture that this error message is not dependent on the specific configuration I have. For example, I recall having a failure when trying to do "print" a GMail message under 32-bit vista though I do not recall the error message (was very likely different :-). In that case I copied the message into Word and moved on leaving it as a mystery.
Adobe solution (I suppose) is that Acrobat (distiller) needs to check the validity of the Windows file name and give back a rationale error message before passing to the OS.
Hope this helps somone out there.

I am having the exact same problem. I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and Design Premium CS 5.5.  InDesign is the ONLY program that will not print to any printer. I get the "Printer selection failed." error every time I select any printer, even the Adobe PDF one. I have a Brother printer, an HP Plotter, and even an Oce copier/printer.  InDesign gives the error no matter what printer is selected form its own list.  Photoshop and Acrobat do not give me any issues, nor does any of the MS Office programs nor Autodesk softwares.  It's only InDesign that fails.  Reparing doesn't do anything and reinstalling every printer driver is pointless because it's only InDesign that produces the error.
Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

  • No save button in printer driver download

Hi, I have a new used notebook and I'm trying to download the HP Laserjet M1120 MFP printer driver. I can locate the driver on the HP website and get as far as the "save as" page but there is no button to press to actually save the driver to my notebook. I've tried stretching the page, using smaller fonts, etc. but cannot locate the blessed save button. Is it ust my pc that is behaving so? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Photoshop came first, then came Photoshop Elements, and the latter team changed the user interface some to suit more casual users.
Photoshop full version is more oriented to giving you a lower level of control of everything, to maximize your creative control, while Photoshop Elements tends to package things up to make them easier/quicker to use for common tasks.

  • Unwanted LaserJet 4100 Print Driver Download - Desperate - help!

HP has downloaded a Print Driver for LaserJet 4100 which I do not have and did not ask for.  I do not have HP Update enabled on my machine.
This driver has now installed it no less than 30 times on my computer and wiped out all previous dates in System Restore.  How do I find where this is and get rid of it.
Help, please.  This is crashing my business computer!

I apologize as I did not write exactly what I was thinking. I remember you stating there was a computer that you did not have access to, which has 4100 software on it, but no 4100 printer attached. I made an assumption that it was on the network, as well. Sorry for the misinterpretation.
The update process for drivers works along these lines, depending on the particular printer, of course. When an update for drivers is requested either manually or by software, then a connection is made to download new drivers. Now, if everything is perfect, then the correct drivers are downloaded. However, if something indicates that 4100 drivers are needed, even though that is wrong, it will try to get those drivers. If it does not retrieve what it believes to be the "correct" drivers, then it will try again, but in this case, it obviously failed. I do not know how many times it will try to get the "correct" drivers, but from the sounds of it, much too many times. Whatever is downloading these updates is not satisfied with the results.
In this case, my suggestion would be to remove any HP software through uninstallation. I would even uninstall the C6180. If there are no other HP devices attached to the computer, then I would also remove any unused HP folders. This would include the HP 4.7 folder, as there may be driver update software located there, possibly including HP 4100 software. Once removed, then reboot the machine, and reinstall the C6180 printer. Remember to opt for the manual updates, not the automatic updates. At that point, there should not be anything on your computer that would request any kind of HP update at all.

  • 1) "Care Pack" product registration page error 2) Driver download page error - links don't work

I cannot register my printer because the page has "Care Pack" product registration page has errors:
    https://register.hp.com/americas/flowPage/registration/index.do?execution=e1s1
I fill in all the information and click the blue "Submit Query" button, and nothing happens except 3 silver "Submit Query" buttons appear below where it says, "Search results" "Select the product that you want to register." But there are no results! And why 3 buttons if no results?
Cookies and scripts are enabled. I did that and refreshed the page before I entered anything, so nothing is getting rejected.
It seems the website has a lot of problems...the download links on the driver page wouldn't work either, so I had to get them from a 3rd party. I am lucky to find a reliable site! (The driver was official and the printer finally installed correctly, which it couldn't even find if I let Windows search online!)

  • Is a TWAIN driver included in the Phtosmart All-in-One 6525 printer driver download?

I am trying to use the new mobile deposit my bank recenly offered, however it requires a TWAIN driver.  I downloaded the drivers under e6525 however I still am not able to participate in the service as my printer doesn't display in the available printers drop-down (the reason provided is does not support a TWAIN driver).
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi Jodi,
You can verify its installed by going to the following location
C:\Windows - if you scroll through you will see the twain_32 folder. If that folder is missing, then you can't scan with the HP software, and also from the sounds of it your banks. Just verify its there. Typically will be created/updated during installation.
You can also run the PSDR, fix scanning issue and it will list the twain driver.
I hope this answers your question. Thanks again.

  • Printer driver downloads

I can't install new printers on Mountain Lion.  Installed can't find required updates.

I open system prefs. then print and fax.  Pres the "+" at the bottem of the box to add a printer.  See artisan 720 as avilable in the network and select it.  The promt comes up saying new software is available from apple server do I want to download or cancel.  The dialogue box then acts as if it is finding and downloading software before finally telling me that it is unavailable.  This has happened with multiple printers. ( I use the computer at the offfice as well as home).  It seems like there is a problem with the Apple software update server or with my MBPros ability to install the software.  Any ideas?  I've been using macs since the Fat Mac 512.

  • Spontaneous Installation of Printer Driver

    Hi.
For the past week, about every 20 minutes, my computer spontaneously reinstalls my printer.  I have tried to figure out if it's when a certain program is open or another trigger...but it is literally anytime, for any reason. There is not rhyme or reason to it.
I have tried restarting, reinstalling the driver myself, etc. I have also run a scan of my computer for viruses and nothing came up.
    Thoughts?

  • Where to Download an Older Version for Printer Driver?

I just purchased a used Mac Mini that has an older operating system, 10.4.11.
The latest printer drivers available for download do not support this operating system- only available for 10.5 or higher.
Upgrading my OS is not an option (I don't have enough memory- only 512MB - but need 5GBs). Using the printer driver disk that came with the printer is not an option as the optical scanner in the Mac Mini does not work.
So, I need to find out how / where I can download the printer driver v4.4 for Kodak All-In-One Printer ESP C315- it is not available on the Kodak website. (They do have some Firmware update for that printer for my os, but you have to have the printer driver installed first)
Does anyone know of a place on the web that hold older printer driver downloads?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Contact Kodak tech support and see if they can provide a driver for you.
Have you tried drivers that came with OS X? Even though they may be for Leopard does not mean they won't work with your printer just because you are running Tiger. Does Tiger have a printer driver for it? OS X has a rather large number of printer drivers included.
    Is this what you need?

  • Printer Driver for Laserwriter 320

I need to load the printer driver for my Laserwriter 320 on my iBook, which I just upgraded to OS 10.4. However, the install disk did not have any Apple printer drivers on it, contrary to reports stating that they were on the disk.
I have tried third party sites to find the printer driver download but only the driver for Windows machines can be found.
Does anyone have or know of a source that has the Mac printer driver for Laserwriter 320?
    Thanks,
    Greg Linn

    Hi.
The driver for the Personal LaserWriter 320 is already installed by default, since it's part of the Essential System Software. If you want to check it, just go to System/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj, and you'll find the "l LaserWriter Personal 320.gz".
If I recall correctly, in order to make that legacy printer work with OS X, you need an Ethernet to LocalTalk Adatper, like the AsanteTalk, or similar.
    Good Luck.
