Installation failing in Logic Studio. Big Problem!

Hello, I broke my Macbook recently and got a new one through insurance. Basically my copy of Logic was installed on the broken one and now I am installing it on the new one, I was told that you get two downloads on different systems. I tried to install Logic twice with the same disc as before and it gets quite a way through the installation and then says this installation has failed, contact support. Has anyone else had this problem, really need to make some beats.

This is almost exactly my situation, except my MacBook Pro was stolen inside my car which was also stolen. I got the car back but no MacBook Pro. I try to install Logic Studio on my new MacBook Pro and it hangs on "Writing Files" for a while, then it gives me the "Installation Failed" prompt. Anything you find out please let me know.

Installation Fail on Logic Studio

Hey all
I recently purchased Logic Studio 9 (new user--not an upgrade) and for some reason, the installation fails a bit more than halfway through the first disk, every time. I have tried only installing one component at a time and it still fails. I tried installing it to an external hard drive, no go. My OS and the rest of my software updates are completely up to date. I also have plenty of free space on my hard drive. I'm at a loss here, and not particularly computer literate. Any ideas?
I did call tech support in the US as I originally bought my computer there, and it's free for me to call the US from my computer (and 25p/minute for a domestic call here in the UK), but as I bought the product in the UK they wanted me to call the Cork location, which is fine, but they are apparently just going to send me a new disk anyway. Is an error with the initial disk most the most likely problem? I'd be very irritated if I waited through this stupid Royal Mail strike for another disk of my £399 product just to see the same error again.

Ahh that would be terrible! I called them this morning and they said that they are sending me a new disc, but it could take up to a week, which is already silly, but three weeks for such an expensive program, when it's a manufacturing error, is absolutely ludicrous. Right now I'm looking for someone else that has it but the odds of me finding someone that lives near to me, at university, with Logic Studio 9 are slim to say the least. Anyway, thanks for answering, and hopefully this works.

Very Strange Logic Studio Installing Problem, please help !

Hello .
I wanted to install Logic Studio 9 on a brand new imac and somehow installation was failed .
Than i erased what ever i could which was left from the failed installation .
And now i am trying to reinstall, but this time Installation is not asking me Audio Content 1, 2 and 3
And also after Jam Pack 1, instead of continuing to 2 and 3, is asking to put install disk , and after that point installation getting failed again .
So far what i erased after failure was (only the ones i could find out of this list )

But what ever i tried, gives no solution . At the end a fail .
How can i wipe out all the Logic existence from my computer to make new install ?
Or, what is this problem i am having? As installation is not asking some discs which is necessary for the setup anymore .
Did anyone experienced that ?

it is very frustrating to see such an installation problem happening from a "professional" called DAW .
I am actually a Protools user , and i have never had this type of complications .
I mean come on, i am just trying to install the thing .
On a new system, on a new computer and from an original purchase .
I believe i have enough computer knowledge to instal a simple software .
But i am spending almost 10 hours since yesterday to install Logic .
Instead of making designer boxes or giving fancy advertisements, i am inviting Apple Engineers to create proper working software .
Especially to see a professional audio software like Logic in this epic fall, is very very bad .
I mean you can say i am problematic and don't know how to instal a simple software, but than please write to google, Logic installation problems , and you will see thousands of issues .
Whatever i am writing here not against to the people who are replying and want to help , i just want Apple to read this .
Ah , i am sure Apple won't put attention on it , but doesn't matter .

I am erasing this thing now from my computer and continue with Protools as the way i was doing .

Logic Studio Install Problems

Purchased Logic Studio a couple weeks ago. The first set I recieved would not install correctly and it errored out several times regardless of how I went about installing it. Contacted Apple Support and they indicated I may have a bad set of disks so I returned my set and recieved a new set yesterday. Install problems continue but now different. Orginal set woudl load a coiuple of disks then error out. This set will laod the install disk then when asked to insert the Audio Content 1 disk the computer will spin th edisk around a few times the spit it out. Tried several times and even tried inserting other content disks. I've read some of the conent here and some mention a possibel bad DVD Drive but I do no think my DVD Drive is the problem since after trying the Logic Studio set I successfully installed FrameForge.
When I attempted to install the first set of disks last week I was able to select all the options, SoundTrack Pro, Mainstage, etc. On this set my SoundTrack Pro option is grayed out and I cannot select it to load. I read here last week, when the first set would not load, to remove everything associated with Logic Studio and try again, which I did. Is it possible there are remneants remaining somewhere on my system that is disallowing the SoundTrack install this time?
My system config is:
Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048MB
Software: Mac OSX Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)
1TB Internal SATA Disk (This is the drive I am attempting to load on)
256GB Flash Storage
12TB (RAID 5 Configure to 6TB) Pegasus External

I ve LOST the cd1 (INSTALLATION CD OF LOGIC) but I still have the Serial number

HI Everybody, I'm looking for it since 50 days now...but I can't find it anymore...Maybe someone took it i really don't know but THE CD1 (INSTALLATION D OF LOGIC STUDIO) I mean the only white Cd there is in the box...I ve lost it...and I don't know how I have to do to get one back, I still have the serial number but I have to reinstall logic studio on my new computer IMAC quad...well without it I can't produce music anymore because on my old macbook Pro, since I ve updated to LION 10.7.1 it Don't work anymore, then I'm really totally blocked...Could someone tells me how to arrange this fact...There must be a way to clean this big problem without buying all the logic studio Package with the 8 cds...Because I have them, I don't need everything just the CD1 (white one INSTALLATION CD)...Thanks for your reply and sorry for my english...bye...regards..STEVEN/SWITZERLAND

Installing Logic Express from Logic Studio Package

Does any user, or Apple, know if it's possible to performa a Logic Express installation from my Logic Studio package, i.e. not the whole Studio installation, but the limited version?

In the installer simply untick everything you can untick and you should be able to do a "skeleton" install of about 7.5 GB. It'll still be Logic Pro though, not express. But installing the app only is not possible, some content +cannot be deselected+ in the installer.

I just purchased a brand new copy of Logic 9 and installation has failed every single time I've tried, for hours now.
Have tried installing w/ and w/out jampacks and audio content, nothing seems to work...am I doing something wrong?

Hi,
You don't give much info in terms of how and when your installation failed. From what you say, though, you might have defective disks (or maybe a hardware problem), and no matter what you do, they won't work. In Denver you have an apple store? Take them and your computer in and let them try to install, and go from there.

Logic Studio Installation on other computer problems?

I have logic studio on my macbook pro, and I bought a friend a macbook pro for christmas. I then registered it in his name.
I am at his house fairly often and as I haven't used my other installation for Logic, would like to install it on his macbook, to use logic when there.
I see you have to own the 2 computers the 2 installations are on and one has to be a laptop and one a desktop. I would like to install logic on the other laptop as I did pay for it, but am concerned about downloading it onto his hard disk and it doesn't work, either because it would be on 2 laptops or because I've registered the laptop in his name.
Does anyone know if it would work?
Should I register Logic on the 2nd laptop in my name or his(as the laptop is registered)?

You can open Guitar Rig IN Logic, if you have installed the AU (Audio Unit) plugin. From what I understand you use it standalone (as a separate application), but you can use it as a plugin as well. And your proposed workflow is possible, but it leaves more control if you record your guitar cleanly, and and add the effect as a plugin on the guitar track.

The reason I asked is because I don't understand how you managed to install 9.1.1 on your iMac...
So... out of curiosity, as you didn't actually answer the question... how did you install 9.1.1 on your Mac given the DVD version is 9.0.0?
As to your questions...
You may install Logic Pro 9 from the Logic Studio package legally on one desktop and one laptop you own... as per the Logic Studio license terms and conditions..
However, had you purchased Logic Pro 9 via the App store, rather than via the boxed edition of Logic Studio 2.0..   that licence, is different and allows you to install LP9 on any number of computers you own for your own private use.. using your Apple ID and the purchased tab of the Mac App Store application.
If you feel Apple should have done a better job in notifying you about the requirements of Logic Pro 9 in reference to the 9.1.6 update being needed under Mountain Lion, why don't you contact them and tell them... via the feedback form,

I am trying to reinstall Logic Studio 7 and I cannot find the serial number. It's suppose to be in one of the installation booklets. I'm not sure which one. Could you help me?

I am trying to reinstall Logic Studio that i bought back in 2008, and I cannot find the serial number. I think I barely remember running into this problem before with this application. When i use the installation disc it tells me that the serial number is located in one of the installation booklets, and it doesn't explain to me which one. Can you help me?

Problem installing logic studio to my mac 10.6.8 PLEASE HELP!

I am having trouble trying to install Logic Studio on my mac book pro 10.6.8 when i click on the "logicstudio.iso" file it mounts the file but when I "double click" on the "dmg" file nothing happens the "installer" doesn't pop up. I have installed other programs, the installer pops up and installs these programs with no problem. I have no idea why this is happing please PLEASE HELP ME

Logic Studios install fail - external harddrive

Hey! i have bought my self a Logic Studio 9 at my local Apple store, and is currently trying to install the program on my Mac Book Pro (10.5.8). Since i create, store and use a lot of movies my harddisk is full and i have bought an external hard drive (iomega prestige desktop hard drive 1Tb). Since i don't have the required space available on my harddisk, i tried to install logic studios on my external harddrive.
The problem occurred after i had completed the formation the external hard-drive demanded. When i try to install the applications on my external harddrive it, however, says: "You can not install Logic Studio on this volume. This software must be installed on the running system". My questions are therefore:
Does anyone know how to solve my problem? Do i have to delete over 20 gb of stuff from my harddrive to be able to install the applications?
Help will be highly appreciated, since i have spent 450 $ on these programs.

Excellent, i now have the applications installed! thanks a lot, one question remains though.. i still can't install the additional content, when i try to use the logic studios installer to only install the content it still says ""You can not install Logic Studio on this volume. Logic Studio 9.0 install problem (custom audio disk hang)

When I install Logic Studio (full version not upgrade) on my iMac which is new, The install goes okay till it asks for Audio Content disk #1. After installing disk #1 it asks for the Logic Install DVD again and then hangs. After a while is says installation failure - contact software provider. Anyone know why it does this? Can't contact provider (apple) cause they aren't running phone support out of hours...
Have the seen this failure on a few BB's but not answered.

Problem: I bought Logic Studio 8, then the Logic Pro 9 Update, and now lost

I can't start Logic, after...
- I had a running Logic Pro 9 system, that I installed with an upgrade to my bought Logic Studio 8. Ok, back then.
- Then I did a big mistake: I have thrown away (because I did not think it was necessary to keep) the manual and the CD of Logic Studio 8. So I lost the Serial number, which was printed in the manual, and I lost the CD too.
- Back then, that was not a problem, because I had a running system.
- Now I tried to install on a second machine, and I could not. I ordered a new serial number, and I received it from Apple support. But it looks like I have received some Logic Studio number and in the mail they don't say which version. Since it is called Logic Studio, I assume the serial is for version 8. But I can't install that because I lost the version 8 CD too...
- So I now need a new Logic Studio version 8 CD ? I tried to order that by fax (the same support number that also sent me the serial), but no response from Apple.
- Now I have moved my main machine to another Mac Pro (Firewire Transfer) and now I must also enter the serial number and none of the ones that I have works.
I feel like Apple should provide me a complete set of Logic Pro 9, CD and serial. This would make my life easy again. I would also cover the expenses.
What shall I do?
Who can I contact?
Btw: it seems to be really hard to get Logic support. Apple is a big company...

So that's settled then. Move on over to the Apple Store. A complete set of Logic Pro 9, CD and serial comes at 499.-
If you have proof of purchase of L8, it might be less, but that would imply you haven't thrown that away too.
