What version of Windows are you using? This is not a problem with iTunes. It may have to do with an issue of the compatibility of a newer version of iTunes with an older Windows system/older hardware.
What do you want to synchronize? If you were previously using iCloud you should be able to restore most of your oringinal content onto your new phone via was was last synched with the iCloud on your previous phone/device.

Downloading *.pdf files often hang before the download finishes. Help!

Sorry, no, this did not help. I cannot recommend doing this. As a result, pdfs are no longer displayed at all in Safari!!
I had found a different solution, though, in the meantime. In the dark grey toolbar that appears at the bottom of a pdf window in Safari once you mouse over the spot, there is this adobe symbol which looks like a windmill. if you click on it, the adobe reader toolbars appear at the top of the browser window. if you click THAT save button there, it works just fine.

Installation hangs - OSX upgrade on MacBook Air

I am attempting to upgrade OSX on my MacBook Air. The installation hangs at "Time remaining: Less than a minute" and eventually cycles off. The error log indicates "missing CoreServices." This has been going on for > 24 hours. Any advice?

Tried to upgrade a Macbook Air with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard to Mavericks from the Apple store. Nothing seemed to happen when clicking on the dowload button and the request APPEARED to hang. The download button changed to a light grey for a few seconds, then came back as a clickable download button. There was no progress bar in the downloads section. This problem is known to Apple but was not solved as of November 1, 2014.
In fact, the upgrade download button did trigger the download. The only indication one gets is in the dock, where the OS X icon will show only "Download... ". There is a minuscule progress bar under the icon and it will take 30 minutes or so before progress starts to show in blue!
If you use an internet wire connection with a router (without other computers connected), rapidly blinking lights on the router will confirm high traffic to the MacBook Air.
The complete download took over 3 hours, via the USB/ethernet port. I also made sure the computer had power supplied by the wall charger. For some reason, the download caused the light on the magnetic plug of the charger cable not to show red or green, and the battery remaining time was not operational on the computer screen.
Installation took more than double the time shown as remaining. You just have to be patient.
After rebooting, the fan was constantly on and the battery remaining time was still not functional on the header bar. It took about an hour for Spotlight to re-index the computer.
All upgrade activities completed, after restarting the computer, the fan was running loudly and the battery remaining time was not working.
I tried the following as recommended for a similar problem reported after installation of Mountain Lion. By pressing Control-Shift-Option and the power button all at once for a second, the computer switched off. Pressing the power button to restart the computer showed everything was back to normal: no fan noise, and the battery remaining time percentage works again. Plugging in the charger also brought again the red charging light.

I'm far from an expert - hopefully the experts will chime in soon. But as a first check, did you do a checksum on the iso before installation?
I've installed arch on a half a dozen machines or so, and I've had a couple installer hangs - in each case it was due to a faulty iso image. I felt quite foolish after staying up all night struggling only to find that a freshly downloaded iso installed perfectly.

Installer hanging on selecting Desktop Class

Morning,
I downloaded the 32 bit Windows 11.2.0.3 patchset from My Oracle Support early on in the week. When I try to install it on a Windows 7 machine, the installer hangs on the 'Installing Database' page after I select 'Desktop Class' and press the Next button.
I had earlier chosen to skip software updates and the create and install a starter database option.
Has anyone else experienced this, are there any log files created by the installer at this point that I can look at or can anyone help with a solution?

Oracle 9i installation hangs at the "oracle Databas Configuration Assistant".

I have tried with rmp file, with bin file, and always the same problem !

Try forcing binary mode when FTPing to the Linux box. My FTP client defaulted to ASCII mode for the .bin file and it was only when I forced it to use binary mode that the .bin file checksummed and extracted correctly.

Greetings! Has anyone managed to create a functional installation DVD(s) from the downloaded files of CS4 Design Premium. After extracting the files, which folders have to go on which DVD? I have both WIN and MAC and would like to install these from DVD.

Thanks for all the replies!! Gosh. Robert: Adobe support apparently told "cosmicone37" that "you can't create an installation DVD from the downloadable files. The only way to have a DVD installable version of any of the suites is to go through Adobe Support and get the DVDs through them." As stated by me, this is simply not true. Read below. Mike: The images I see kicking around on torrent sites have been made from a trial download. That is certain. They say so explicitly. Try69: Thanks for the input. Yes, storing them on a DVD at least frees up the HDD space. But they are of no use unless copied back to the HDD each time one wishes to alter the installation etc. So I don't consider this a solution to the question Brad raised. Brad... et all... Here is the answer. These instructions are for the master suite. 1) In your DVD-DL burner software set up a new project. 2) Call the disc ADBEMST4 3) Using the free 7-Zip program (google for it) extract the contents of the ADBESTAMCS4_LS1.7z file you have downloaded. 4) You need to edit the setup.xml file which is in the \Adobe CS4\Payloads folder Make it like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Setup version="2.0.138.0"> <Driver folder="AdobeMasterCollection4-mul-trial"/> <Media> <Volume> <Name>ADBEMST4</Name> <Payloads> <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR"></Payload> ... snip (see note) .... <Payload folder="AdobeMasterCollection4-mul-trial"></Payload> </Payloads> </Volume> </Media> </Setup> NOTE: I have removed all but one of the payload lines because there are too many to post here. But on every payload line you are changing from: <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR">Adobe CS4</Payload> to <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR"></Payload> (as an example taken from the first payload line) Do that to every line. You are simply removing the "Adobe CS4" text. Or download the edited xml from here: (only valid for 10 downloads as I am not a rapidshare user) http://rapidshare.com/files/160301059/Setup.xml.html 5) Back to your DVD project. In the root of the disc you are creating, place all the files and folders in the \Adobe CS4 folder you ended up with after the extraction. Don't copy the \Adobe CS4 folder itself, just everything in it. So you'll end up with something looking like this: http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/8144/step5rh4.png (image not from me, just one I found whilst researching this) If you want the extra files to be included (as found in STAMCS4_Cont_LS1.exe) then extract these with 7-Zip also. Copy the resulting files to your disc project. If you don't need the additional languages, then don't add them to the project. You may already be going over the limit for DVD-DL... so check on that. 5) In your project put the new/edited setup.xml into the \Payloads folder. Remove the setup.xml already dragged into the project first, or overwrite it when you drag in the new one. 6) Burn 7) Install 8) Enjoy If you have any questions let me know. PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

The installation is not moving and the DB session have code of test_java running logged in as neweof schema while executing load_mw_java.sh.

The LivePatch to 2.10 should not be taking more than 20 minutes. If it is, you have a lock. That is consistent with the behavior of getting a timeout in the UI with the Page not Found error...
However, I'm not clear on whether you used the LivePatch 2.10 or whether you re-installed fresh with the full 2.10 installable?
There is an issue we are fixing in 2.11 where the 2.10 LivePatch CANNOT be applied using the Automated LivePatch tab. It must be done using the manual method described in MetaLink note 291887.1. Is that how you did it, manually? (I'm not sure you could have applied it any other way, yet you say you got an error in the UI?) Are you sure Apache was down when you ran the LivePatch?
The issue of not allowing 2.10 LivePatch to be applied in an automated fashion is documented in another thread in this forum, as well as in the FAQ, Metalink note 405263.1.

Unable to download itunes 10.7, the download just hangs

I'm trying to connect my new iphone 5 to itunes but need to upgrade to 10.7....so I start the download and it gets most of the way through and then just hangs. I'm using Windows 7 on HP DV9000 and have tried numerous times....had this same problem installing itunes to begin with. We had to save the setup.exe to a USB after downloading from another PC and then run the installer on my laptop from the USB and it worked. How can I update to 107? If I try to download 10.7as in a new install will I lose all my music and playlists?

run the cleaner (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs) and then retry installing.
