Installation help- Can anyone help!!
Hello all,
I have purchased Photoshop CS3 Extended but it will not install at all!
When I click to go onto the installation it will produce the adobe setup bar but once it gets to the end of that then nothing happens
Photoshop was purchased from Amazon and came wrapped in box and instructions etc so is legitament copy
Have run cleanscript etc but all to no avail, the error I get in the error log is

I have spoken to customer support but they told me that I was entering the serial number wrong despite me trying to tell them over again that it doesnt even get to the screen to enter it

Just because it came wrapped in a box does not mean it is a legit. Anybody with shrink wrap and a hair blow dryer can shrinkwrap. PS CS3 extended is not sold anymore for a long while. Any big price reduction I would question too.
What OS are you trying to install it on? If you are trying to install it on Vista or Windows 7 you have to install the software as Admin. When you put the disk in don't install it. You want to open to explore. Look for the photoshop folder and open that and look for the .exe file. Right click on that and choose run as Admin.
Also turn off any anti-virus running, Windows defender if installed and if you have adobe reader installed remove that. Do this before you install CS3.

You don't need software at all and most manufactures don't bother with Apple compatible setup software. Instead search the manual for set up instructions for Mac operating systems. Basically you will be setting up your bridge by talking to it through a browser (Netscape, Explorer, etc.) by typing in an address to get to the bridge's internal menus.
Which bridge device is it?

Hi, I have a Compaq Presario C500 Laptop with Windows Vista installed. For the past year, I've been trying to upgrade from Adobe Reader version 8 to either a version 9 or 10. However, when I download and begin the installation, I always get two error messages:
The first one is the error 1402 could not open key. The registry path is HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Classes\PDFShellServer.PDFShelllnfo2\CurVer. Verify you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.
The second one occurs when it retrys: It say error 1402 could not open key. The registry path is HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Classes\AcroAccess.AcrobatAccess\CurVer. Verify you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.
I went to the troubleshooting page and followed the instructions given. But when I go into the Permissions area and do as the instructions say, regardless whether I click Apply or OK, I get a Windows Security message saying - Unable to set new owner on Cur Ver, Access is denied.
This does this no matter how many times I repeat the instructions for troubleshooting. Can anyone recommend another possible solution? First be sure you run RegEdit as Administrator
Right click the key in the left hand pane ... select permissions from the context menu
In the permissions dialog, click the advanced button.
In the advanced security settings dialog switch to the Owner tab
I assume your usercode is a member of the local Administrators group
Click the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects box.
If Administrators is NOT the owner, select it in the change owner to box...press Apply...OK.
You are now back at the Permissions dialog box.
Select Administrators and give them Full control by selecting the Full Control checkbox in the Allow column...press Apply ... Ok
It has been a while since I have had to do this ... so I might be off a little on the steps.
The key is IGNORE any messages that say you don't have enought rights...

Installation Dilemma--can anyone help?
I have 2 old PB G4's (let's call them PB 10.2 and PB 10.4), and would like to give one to a friend, but would like to get my files, info, etc, off first. Here's the problem:
-Both have been upgraded to OS X 10.4.11, but I only have the install discs
for 10.2 and 10.4.7 (I can't find install discs for 10.3, of course!)
-I want to give away PB 10.2, but want to keep 10.4.11 running on it, but if I
erase the HD I can't reinstall 10.4.11, or even 10.4.7 and upgrade it.
I already tried putting a clone of 10.4.7 onto the 10.2 machine, but since it's a clone, it still has all of my files on it, so that was pointless.
Is there any way I can either: a)just transfer the OS from my clone to PB 10.2 after erasing the HD, OR b)perhaps just create a new User on it now, make the new User an Admin, and then delete everything related to the previous User(me)?
I'm sure there's an obvious solution to this (aside from purchasing install discs), but I've been wracking my brain and going thru so many discussion posts that I'm now totally brain-dead--can someone out there please help me?

1. Boot to single user mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
2. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each command line:
/sbin/fsck -yf
If you do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message then repeat this command until you do. If after seven tries you still do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message, then the system is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.
mount -uw /
cd /private/var/db/netinfo
mv local.nidb local.old
rm ../.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when you start up the computer it will send you to the startup wizard where you can create a new user without reinstalling. When you startup in the startup wizard fill in the relevant information until you reach the point where you initialize the new admin account. Create a new account. When you are finished you should be logged into the new account. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder and at the prompt enter:
sudo cd /private/var/db/netinfo
Press RETURN. You will be prompted to enter your admin password which will not be echoed.
sudo rm -rf local.old
Once you start up from the new user account you can delete your old account. If you are concerned about someone trying to recover the erased data then you can use the Secure Empty Trash option in the Finder's Finder menu. Considering the substantial amount of data that will be in the Trash after you delete your old user account, doing the Secure Empty Trash will take considerable time to complete - perhaps several hours. -
i a unable to download the latest itunes 10 for my 4S iphone, a message appears saying that there is a problem with the windows installer.

I have an up to date version of Aperture on my Mac Pro, and I would like to install it on my new Mac book Pro. I have the original installation disks for Aperture 1 and 2. I cant remember how I got to Aperture 3, I think it was via a web download but not sure. I have checked my purchases in the App Store but there is no indication of me buying an upgrade to Aperture 3.
Ive tried to download it from the App Store but it wants me to pay again.
Can anyone help on how to install Aperture 3 on my new Macbook .

Okay. We've got a broken Windows Modules Installer on the PC, then.
It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time? -
Hi there. just bought a TC, installation was succesfull, but time machine won't work. can't select Backup disk. get transferred to TC install again. Called Apple, 25 min. later no succes, have to call on monday again!!!! Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot.

I have just bought a Humax 7500T PVR and a Humax W-Lan dongle to connect to my Airport Extreme.
I have put the mac address into the AE. The installation screen on my TV is picking up the network name but once appied it won't connect to the internet.
I've a few other things connected to the AE such as computers, ipad, itouch, etc, and have never had a problem connecting these once I've entered the mac address into the AE. Can anyone help me with this please?have you made sure that the network setting in the system preferences is set up to use dhcp? if not i would try changing it so that it shows that it is getting its address by dhcp

I get an error stating cc cookies dir: cannot make folder / cookies: Permission denied (error 13) when I attempted to download the creative cloud installer on my Mac. Can anyone help with similar pop up window? I'm trying to get a trial version of CS5.
You do not need to involve Creative Cloud to install/try the trial version of CS5...
You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

Can anyone help with the installation of Premiere Elements 10 from disk onto a Mac?
I have tried to install to a Mac from DVD. The installation fails at 51% on Disc 3 (the first disc for Mac) and returns Error 7. I have tried to download a trial version, but it is no longer available for PE 10. I've also tried to run the Premiere Elements 10 Installation Fix, but it won't run, returning an error that says the Certificate has been revoked. Can anyone help?

I want to deploy Adobe Robohelp 9 across my organization. So, i want to deploy it silently. Please can anyone help me with the silent switches or the procedure to install Adobe Robohelp 9 silently. In adobe site Adobe Robohelp 8 silent install document is available, but it is not working for Adobe Robohelp 9.
This does not work for me, as I expected. I am on Windows 7 enterprise 64 bit.
