Installation of IDES ECC 5.0

Hello !
Maybe it is a stupid question but we have to check all possibilities before we install our new IDES system. We have a R/3 Enterprise system only for test purpose (licensed). Now we want to install a new IDES-system. Due to lack of capacity we have to consider the possibility to install IDES-system (NW 4 + ECC 5) on the same host where our Enterprise system has been already installed.
Is this possible? What can you recommend?
Another question: Can I share the same database system trough generatating a new instance (installed on another host, SQL Server 2K)

I would like to know abt the installation of IDES ECC 5.0. As i already tried to install IDES. but im failed in installing it. during the entire installation no where i encounter installation procedure didn't asked abt the DB EXPORT DVDs..for the installation purpose .i have used DVD's with media label like:-

these are the DVD'd that im using for installation. and the flow of installation starts with ABAP >>>>>> Central Instance & ABAP >>>>> DATABASE Instance.. this how i did the installation . and i failed in installation of DB instance during this procedure it didn't asked abt the DB Export DVD's for installation.. i need help in this issue to resove the problem what im facing in installation.... kindly reply ASAP...

I'm trying to install SAP IDES ECC 6.0 version on a Windows 2008 R2 Server with Oracle 11g DB (11.2).
System Info: 16GM RAM & 600GB Hdd. Prereqs passed.
I'm getting the following error during the Import ABAP phase (16 of 29) in the sapinst log:

Divyanshu - sorry to ask but can you explain why i need to update r3load and r3trans to resolve this error? Just want to understand why I'm doing a correction so I can learn from the same.
Also, can you clarify the file update process:
For R3load:
a) the r3load used by the command is dated 8/16/2011 (location:C:\usr\sap\AVV\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\...)
b) the r3load i have in my db folder is dated 10/23/2011 (location:C:\Final\Installer\BS7i2011_Installation_Master_\DATA_UNITS\BS2011_IM_WINDOWS_X86_64\ORA\UC\...)
Do i replace (a) with (b)?

Error in installation of ECC 6 Import ABAP

I have got error during installation of ECC 6 on win 2003 and oracle.
"Not all objects are succefully processed. DIAGNOSIS: For detail see output file with invalid objects invalid_objects.txt and log file object_checker.log SOLUTION: Normally it indicates the data load error but in some special case (for example if some objects were created or loaded externally) you can press OK to continue.

Installation of ECC 6.0 on Windows Vista

HI,
I am not able to install ECC 6.0 on windows vista OS even I tried to install windows server 2003 but it shown incomitablity error becuse of newer version of OS(windows Vista).Could you let me know how can i remove the vista and get win server 2003 installed at my system.If I run the set up file of windows server 2003 it gives error "setup cannot run in program compatibility mode".Please let me know what else i can do.

Hi Sanjay,
Few things you have to check before installation of ECC 6.0 on any OS :-
1. From where have you got the dump for ECC 6.0? Have you downloaded it from Service Marketplace. If Yes then you have to check whether your OS is also of the same configuration as the dump you are using like if you are using 32-bit then your OS also needs to be 32-bit only. As far as ECC 6.0 SR3 is concerned it can be installed on 64-bit machine only. For 32-bit machine you have to go for SR2.
2. Also the supported JDK for the ERP 6.0 is JDK 1.4.2_17 as per SAP Note 716604. Please uninstall the current JDK and install the required one. The 64 bit JDK as per the SAP Note 941595 is available on the new IDES server.
3.Although there is cheat code to install the SAP ERP6.0 in 32 bit mode as well. But in that case NO Java system will be installed. I will advise for 64 bit method with Java system. Only use 32 bit mode if 64 bit is not possible. Follow SAP Note 1244548.
4. The DB Size system will need around 190 -200 GB to install.

Chinese language problem in IDES ECC 6.0 SR3

I just finished the installation of IDES ECC 6.0 SR3, but after i changed zcsa/installed_languages to '1DE' and tried to logon using 'ZH' which stand for chinese, it doesn't work and only show messy codes.
According to note 1244548:
"The system already contains more than 20 languages. Use transaction SMLT to check the status and set the system profile parameter zcsa/installed_languages accordingly to use them."
It should be alright, anything configuation i missed?

Hi ,
     zcsa/installed_languages parameter has to set for each language .We suppose that you set is correctly i.e. code for chinese is 1.Please check it once again .If you feel this code for chinese language is correct then you need to install this language in SMLT tcode.
       Please remember that only english & german language comes as default in SAP .Any language ther than this you have to install it via SMLT tcode.You can find the CD of these languages at marketplace.
       Please dont forget to supplement language after installation of chinese.
    Also as you said in post that you system contains more than 20 languages but your profile contains calue of only three .Please make sure that you set this parameter contaning values for each language.Please use tcode I18n to get the help for same.

If the company you work in has a license for ERP 6.0 then an IDES license is included. Be aware that you need an installed and configured Solution Manager to generate an installation key.

Problems in installation IDEs

Hello everybody!
I am installing the IDE ECC 6, but I can not do it.
Copy the installation disks to a server and access via the network, also probe by copying the discs on the same server.
But to reach the "Import Abap" stay there and not moving forward (wait 8 hours), the same probe but with the normal installation (no IDE) and runs smoothly.
Is not being consumed "RAM" or processor in this process, all that shows me some change is this file SAPAPPL1.TSK
Anybody knows that can be happening?

when we reach the stage "Check DDIC password" show me the following message
"Test System logon to SAP ECC failed. Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct"
