Installation incomplete?

An automatic update from Adobe failed on my computer this morning. Here's the message I got:
The update cannot be applied to the product. Please re-install the product and try again.
Flash Lite 3 Update for Device Central CS3 failed to install.
In the CS3 family I only have Photoshop. I have the CS2 Suite and Lightroom 1.3.1 installed. Do I need to reinstall PS or LR to get the update?

No, turning off the automatic updater is NOT A SOLUTION. It's not even a decent kludge. The problem apparently resides in registry values for my computer. I found this message in a forum Adobe is running for Device Central:

I haven't tried it yet. I am currently on hold for Adobe support, after getting some fairly lame advice about reinstalling the Flash Player and insisting on something more relevant. Nice fellow, but not very knowledgable.
Dave and John, I'm not sure we should be advising people to disable their Adobe Updater. I don't mean you any harm personally, and I know your intentions are good, but the advice seems wrong to me.
I sure do wish Adobe would get better music for poor saps like me who have been on hold for twenty minutes. It's awful!
edit: And, after all that time on hold, I get to talk to some fellow named Chris for about two minutes before we're disconnected! Drat!

CS5.5 Installation incomplete, Adobe Support Adviser is disconneting my network

Hello,
I've installed the new CS5.5 (Middle eastern version) on my brand new Windows 7 system. When it was done, it said that some parts were uninstalled and that I shoule reinstall.
So I reinstalled and again, got the same "could not install" this and that..., I've restart the computer several times, I think I treid to install about 4 times but got the same messeges each time.
I than download the Adobe Support Adviser so I could package the issues and send it over as Adobe suggested, but it failed doe to netword unavailable.
For some strange reason, I than discovered that my network was disconnected and I fixed it. I open the software again, and again it told me I am disconnected form network. After 4 times, I discovered that everytime i use this software it disconnect me from my network.
So now I got an incomplete installation without any knowledge of how to fix and how to send.
Any advise what I can do?

Instrument I/O Assistant installation incomplete...Student Edition 7.1

I'm using LabVIEW 7.1 Student Edition, and I can't seem to get the Instrument I/O Assistant to work. The student edition doesn't come with the Drivers CD, so I got the I/O Asst from ni.com. After reading some other posts I uninstalled the I/O Asst from the Add/Remove programs, then reinstalled, but it still didn't work.
Am I running into the limited functionality of the student edition?

The Instrument I/O Assistant vis are only installed from the Driver CD, within the Driver CD, you will see a separate installer for the Instrument I/O Assistant(iioa), run the installer from there.

PS Elements 10 Installation Incomplete??

I've installed PS elements 10 twice and each time it prompts me to install disk 2 of 3 but the DVD refuses to eject. After pressing OK the install program reports a sucessful install even though I've never inserted disks 2 or 3. At that point the DVD will eject normally. The program seems to function but is it really installed correctly???

You only need disk 1 for Photoshop Elements. Disk 2 is for 64 bit Windows but only if you intend to use the trial version of the video application Premiere Elements. Disk 3 is only required on Mac OSX.
So yes your installation is complete.

Installation incomplete because of errors

I have a imac intel core since yesterday, and this is my first time with apple.
i try to install mac os x. everything is ok with the fist cd, but at the end of the installation of the cd 2 i receive a message: installation iccomplete because of errors...and it asks me to re start the installation, but it still doesn't work, and i can't do anything else whith the computer. even when and switch it of, it starts on this message: put cd 2 to start the installation...
i really don't know what to do. please please help me

All the applications that you were supposed to get should have been on their, if they were not you can easily access them.
Insert the first CD, and click "Install Included software only" or something like that (I don't have my install CD here right now to check, but it says something like that). Go through the installer, and it will install the Apple included software.

Update installation Problems CS4

For the past week I've battled with my PC trying to install the 11 updates I downloaded from Adobe. I have a PC with Win 7 OS, 12GB Ram that runs a i7 CPU 920 by Intel using a high speed ISP. My Graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 4800 series with 512 MB.
I've downloaded.... re-downloaded.. etc and still when I try to install the updates I get the following error box message.. give or add a word or two.
          Installation Incomplete
             The installation process has encountered a problem.
              Please choose from the following options.
              1. Cancel the current update & continue to install the remaining updates
              2. Stop installing and continue later
I used option 1... but after each of the 11 updates did its thing I'd get the error box again.
I need HELP!!
BTW...your opinions are appreciated for the following question
      Is the ATI Radeon HD 4800 good enough for this program or is it just enough to get by?

Hi H,
I would advise you not to download the updates from the 'Help - Updates' procedure in CS or Bridge.
Go directly to Adobe, download the updates to your chosen place on your machine, and for each update right click on the downloaded set-up file, and select 'Run as administrator".
Also make sure that no CS or Bridge processes are running when you do the installation, check with the Task Manager.

I have installed one Outlooksoft Server on windows server2003 with MS SQL2005, after installation, when i do server diagnostic, the error occurs, at COM+ Component service entry, it says Osoftdatabase user , assiged error, status error, meanwhile, i found the errors "Assigning COM+ Components: Error" at osoft installation logs. How to correct this errors?
in addition, when i want to install BPC for office installation or BPC for administation installation from software centers, at the last step, it display," installation incomplete
-this screen is customizable by customer-,if you need help ,please contact your system administrator."
what to do next to solve this problem,

Hi Roger,
Is this a single server installation that you are referring to? or is this a multi-server installation. Did the error you receive during the diagnostic occur at the Assigned, Identity, Activation Type, Authentication Level area?
To me right now this sounds like what happened could potentially be that during the installation you by accident entered the second or third password in the installation incorrectly. There is a bug in the install that only checks the validity of the first password entered and not the second nor the third.
Regarding the BPC for Office Error I would focus first on getting the server installation fixed before moving on to the next step.
Let me know
1) Where the error occurs during the diagnostic
2) if you are able to login to MS SQL 2005 with the user and password that you entered during the installation.

Problems with updates after upgrading to CS4

I am experiencing update problems after upgrading from CS3 to CS4.
After completing the upgrade, I opened CS4 and then clicked on 'Help' and 'Updates'. The download was 280MB of updates, which duly started to install. However, during the install process, I received the 'installation incomplete' pop-up box and could only continue by clicking on the ‘Cancel the current update and continue installing…….’ option. At the end, I shut the machine down.
This morning I have run the CS4 updates again, this time downloading 80MB (I guess the bits that it didn’t do last night). When installing, the same 'installation incomplete' popped up three times.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you seeing which componenets are not successful? If no message in the progress window about what is being installed, there is probably a log.
Have you tried going to the website to download the update installer?

NEF Thumbnails not displaying in Bridge CS3

I decided to dip my toe into RAW images. However unlike jpegs and tiffs the NEF thumbnails are not rendering in Bridge CS3. However when I double-click on an unrendered thumbnail it does open normally. As seeing thumbnails would be very helpful I decided to do a software update to see if this would cure the problem. During the install process I got the following message - Installation Incomplete - The Updater is unable to locate the product to be updated - Adobe Camera Raw 4.6 Update failed to install.
Outcome - NEF thumbnails still not rendering. By the way my NEF images were produced on a Nikon D60.

Software Component Vector in Modification Adjustment Transport

Hello all,
We are in the middle of a support pack project for our SRM system, and I've run into a snag as I prepare to move them into QAS. We've had this system for many years, and when DEV was originally installed in 2000 it was as a B2B 2.0a system. It was upgraded to 2.0b before GoLive, and the QAS and PRD systems were installed directly as 2.0b systems. The entire landscape has been upgraded several times in the twelve years since, and today it is on release SRM 5.0.
The problem is that the DEV system still shows an installed software component of NDI_ERM (Extended Relationship Management) in release 20A. Obviously that is actually long gone, but it still shows up in SPAM in the Display Package Level function, and under Attribute SAPCOMPONENT in the properties of all transport requests released from this system. It should have been passively deleted during the first (or subsequent) upgrade long ago, but for whatever reason that didn't happen. This software component never existed in QAS or PRD and does not show up in SPAM in those systems.
This hasn't been an issue in the past, and so I've just ignored it as I always had bigger fish to fry. I've performed upgrades and support packages for these systems without an issue, but we hadn't done any of these tasks for the past three years.
Until now.
I successfully installed support package stack 28 for SRM 5.0 into DEV a few months ago, and I performed the required modification adjustments in SPAU, creating the usual modification adjustment transport. Now, however, when I am trying to import the support packs into QAS, I have a problem when defining the queue, at the step for adding the modification adjustment transport. The transport is marked with a Software Component Vector that includes the defunct ghost NDI_ERM 20A, and NDI_ERM doesn't exist in QAS. SPAM finds the transport, but marks it with a red light ("Transport does not fit"). Drilling into details shows me that everything matches perfectly except for my ghost. On that line I get "The software component is not installed," and SPAM will not allow me to add the transport into the queue.
I should point out that I can import regular transports just fine, and I'm pretty sure I could just import the queue without the modification adjustment transport, and then import it manually when SPAM gets to the step about performing the adjustment. No doubt that would work, and that's almost certainly what I'm going to end up doing. But it bugs me that I can't fix this.
I have some thoughts about fixes that might work, and I'd like input on whether anyone else has dealt with (and solved) this problem before.
I think that I could probably just delete the line in DEV in table CVERS for NDI_ERM and so have it no longer show up in the attributes of future transports. That might solve the problem going forward, though it won't fix the mod adjust transport I've already released. Any thoughts about this?
I was able to get the existing transport to no longer show NDI_ERM in its attributes by deleting the appropriate line in DEV in table E070A. After doing that the transport looked fine in the STMS queue for QAS when drilling into its properties. However, this apparently isn't enough for SPAM. As I had already uploaded the transport in SPAM once, SPAM 'remembers' it and seems to have therefore cached its properties, including the NDI_ERM software component. I haven't been able to figure out how to get SPAM to 'forget' this transport so I could completely upload it anew and hopefully get new attributes that will then match the correct software component vector for the target system. Resetting the queue status doesn't do it.
Any thoughts on where (what tables) SPAM stores information about modification adjustment transports, and how to clear that information out? Any thoughts on the (admittedly drastic) measures I've mentioned above?

SAP strictly forbids the modification of those tables for specific Add-Ons or even essential software component. As you do not really delete those products from a SAP system. This will only partially remove meta information from a SAP sytem. After the "reinstallation" the data and many other log files are still exists and may have some really inconvenient side effects in a SAP systems (inconsistent installation, incomplete database table conversion, problems regarding maintenance via notes and support packages, modifications cannot be reverted...) .
Additionaly it will be very difficult or even impossible to resolve upgrade or maintenance issues.
If you have any issue regarding an installation of a SAP product, you should contact the corresponding SAP support. They will provide you the right solution.
Currently SAP only provides for a small subset of Add-Ons the deinstallation.

On the principle that misery loves company, I'll add my report here. I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.2. Once a week or so, the Adobe updater interrupts me to try to install Adobe Media Encoder CS 4.2.0. Inevitably, it reports:
Installation Incomplete
Adobe Media Encoder CS 4.2.0 failed to install.
I doubt I make much use of said encoder, but what do I know. I'm primarily an InDesign user with a small amount of Photoshop work. I guess I'll just continue ignoring this message.

Flexnet Licensing issues. Shut out of software for two weeks! Support Sucks

I am contacting the Better Business Burea tomorrow. I have paid thousands of dollars to Adobe and am now locked out of using the software I rely on for my business. The entire suite just stopped working due to licensing errors and reinstallation has not helped nor has any of the links I've been sent to. They were supposed to provide me with a new install of my CS3 Production Premium Suite but after taking 4 hours to download I found it to be incomplete (missing an entire disc.) When I called back they told me they didn't currently have a working install and I should call back on Monday. I have tried calling back several times this week and waited on hold for an hour and a half each time and never reached anyone. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'm losing business every day that I'm unable to do my graphic design work. I'm going to start posting on Facebook and anywhere else I can think of to try and find others who might be interested in sueing. We should be reimbursed for lost income while Adobe does nothing to provide us with working software after taking our money!

I'm in the exact same situation with the same problem -- though I'm only on day three - but have been throwing half done projects to printers all over town to finish for my clients and am starting to think this is going to effect me in the long-run.
I tried the license recovery, editing the flex permissions etc. uninstalled, used the clean script everything on all their kb articles and no luck --- this happened before and I got the "expired" message - the clean script fixed that ... but the "stopped working" version seems to be impossible.
Here's where I'm at now.. after I run the license recovey (at 0) w/ no luck, I uninstall, run the script and shut down complete, reboot, check that I can't find any adobe anywhere and start the install again ... the install works fine -- all the programs install EXCEPT for the "Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard" componet - which is the last to install and only pops up for a second before I get the "installation incomplete - 5 components successfull... 1 component failed" message. I'm thinking this is the reason for all my trouble. I've tried reinstalling to "repair" just that -- but it's not an option to click, however if you start the install w/ nothing clicked it repairs the shared components and says it going to install this component -- but continues to fail.
Any ideas - If I upgrade to CS4 will that install okay -- even when my CS3 isn't working?

Camera Raw 4.1 Fails to Install Completely

Just installed CS3 on a Windows Xp, SP2 system. All of the updates downloaded successfully, all installed successfully except Camera Raw 4.1. Tried it four times on my system. Then tried to download and install through Bridge with the same result. The message says, "Installation Incomplete" The options are try again, close and try later or exit the install process. Have done every option including start over the next day, always with the same result at the same place in the install process Any Suggestions?

Installer cannot complete the installation with Photoshop and Bridge active. If you want the installer to install acr 4.1 (vs installing it manually), when you get that message you need to close Photoshop and Bridge then continue (try again).
