Installation intructions for oracle 7.3.4 on HP-UX 11.0

Where can we find online installtion intructions for 7.3.4 on the oracle website?

Are you sure you actually need to install 7.3.4 to do this ? I would expect to be able to migrate the database without having the old version installed, but I'm not certain.

  • What are the installation steps for Oracle Fusion HCM

    Hi all
I will like to ask, what are the installation steps for Oracle Fusion HCM as well as can it work on Windows or only on virtual machine?
    Thanks

If you're looking to install Fusion HCM, your best bet is to install on linux, eg, Oracle Enterprise Linux. It's up to you whether you put that in a Virtual Machine or not. I don't think Windows is an available platform for Fusion Apps at the moment, although am prepared to be corrected if you find anything to the contrary!
If you're looking to do an install on your own PC/laptop, you're probably out of luck - you'll be needing around 128GB of RAM. Check out this post:

  • Installation Requirements for Oracle Apps Forms and Report Services OEL

    Hi all.
Where can i find detail information about the installation requirements for Oracle Application Server Forms and Report Services under OEL 4 (Oracle Enterprise Linux) or OEL 5?
It seems there's only information about Oracle Application Server in general, not the reduced or partiuclar distribution, Forms and Reports Services.
    Thanks in advance ....!

I already saw the documentation for Forms and Reports Services Installation.
This thread is about the specific requirements, if any, for this product on OEL 5 or OEL 4.
See, there's a note on Metalink(546174.1) regarding some specific issues about installing Oracle Application Server on OEL5, but i'm not sure if this involves Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services.
The idea is to know if these issues applies to this specific distribution .
Hope you understand my question now. Thanks in advance

  • Installation guide for Oracle form/report 6i developer

    Hi all,
Does anybody had an experienced to install Oracle form/report 6i developer or where i can find a step by step installation guide for Oracle form/report 6i developer? I've downloaded Oracle form/report 6i developer software and follow the installation guide but it's very unclear. And of course, failed few times. Please, help me out.
Note: My OS is rhel 3(update 6) and I picked custom install (because i just need Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Sql*Plus)
    thanks in advance.

    See Metalink Note: 133125.1
This is basically all that remains available for that version specific to installations.

  • Basic installation: X11 for Oracle Linux 6.3

    Hi All,
I created Oracle VM and installed Linux 6.3 as operation system. First try with X Windows and X11 shows, that I can not start X-Appse.g. xclock --> command not found!
How can I correct install oderwise configure X11 for Oracle Linux 6.3
    Regards,
    Moh

I guess Oracle VM VirtualBox and Oracle VM can be misleading. Oracle should better call it Oracle Virtualbox, without VM in the name. Fyi: http://www.oracle.com/us/technologies/virtualization/oraclevm/index.html
Anyway, a default installation of Oracle Linux or RHEL 6 does not install the X Window system and a graphical user desktop. If you want to run X11 applications you have 2 options:
    - Use remote access from a system that has X Window server installed
    - Install X Window and a window manager on your virtual machine.
If this is a new installation and you use it locally then I suggest to re-install the system and customize the package selection. You should see a prompt "customize now" during the installation where you can select the Desktop packages.

  • Installer/Packager for Oracle instance

Hi! I need to create an installer that would create an Oracle instance on the customer’s Oracle server. For SQL Server I can use SQL Packager (http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-packager/)
that can create an executable I can incorporate into an .msi file.
Is there anything available for Oracle?
As a background, few times a year the company I work for ships CD’s with the latest data. The db schemas change frequently, so we rather not run sql data population scripts cause dba's cannot run them properly. They tend to run data scripts before schema change scripts. My company gave up after spending over $50K on creating some of the best documentation I’ve seen. Instead, we are going to create an installer that would take the name of Oracle box and perform Oracle restore commands to restore an entire database from a dump.
The SQL Packager product by Red Gate works pretty well for SQL Server.
What are my options for Oracle?
    Many thanks in advance,

which is how OUI provides baseline database during software installation.

  • FYI: Installation instructions for Oracle products

Since there are still so many questions about installation:
    Please read: http://www.suse.de/en/support/oracle/
Yes, these are (my) SuSE pages, and of course I'd like you to use SuSE Linux. However, the instructions and the patches and rpm's are generic, and have been proven (at Oracle HQ in Redwood City) to work perfectly well on Redhat. Of course, since Linux is Linux - we all use the same kernels, and the same libraries, distributions are about packaging and services, the Linux system is the same.
    Example our Oracle 8i instructions:
The instructions are generic anyway, and the downloadable archive we provide includes
    - a patch for Oracle 8i, which includes the 8.1.5.0.2 patch from Oracle
    - some additional patches of annoying bugs
    - 3 rpm's: JRE 1.1.6v5 (also tested to work on Redhat - of course, see above), tcl75lib (the Agent needs Tcl 75; also works on Redhat, of course), and orarun.rpm, which are SysV startup scripts for automatic Oracle startup /shutdown at system boot/shutdown time. This last package is slightly SuSE specific, and will not work without changing a few lines of the script manually, but that's pretty easy to do.
We also changed 'runInstaller' slightly to catch some of the most common errors that users encounter. We have had lots of very positive feedback from users - and we're waiting for yours. Some of our patches have made it into Oracle patches, and will be in Oracle 8.1.6 right from the start, since we're working closely with Oracle (SuSE was the first Linux distributor to have a full time engineer onsite at Oracle HQ).
Oracle 8i has been certified by Oracle against SuSE Linux 6.2 and 6.3, of course.
    Have fun!
    PS:
    - SuSE Linux only recently won the 'Best Distribution' award at LinuxWorld Expo in New York (February, choosen by the visitors, not an anonymous committee).
    - SuSE has more than 300 employees worldwide (12 months ago: ~60)
    - SuSE has been in business since 1992, in the Linux business since 1993
    - Our investors include Intel, and our bottom line has always been positive
Come and see us at CeBIT (starts 24 February in Hannover, Germany, and is the largest trade show on eart(!) with more than 7500 exhibitors and more than 700000 visitors)!
    PS^2:
Feel free to ask me, if you still have installation troubles! We always welcome feedback, so that we can make the installation process even simpler. It will also flow back to Oracle, of course, and will improve the standard Oracle installation procedures (after all, we really don't want to make a living patching Oracle's installation bugs....).

  • Installation problem for oracle SOA Suite11gR1

    Hi,
I am new to oracle fusion middleware product. Now trying to install SOA Suite 11g R1
Installation of Oracle SOA 11g R1 is five step process where step 1 & 2 are same for most of Fusion Middleware 11g products (WebCenter, Identity Management..)
    1. Install Oracle Database (repository for SOA Suite) and load Oracle SOA suite repository using rcu (Repository Creation Utility).
    2. Install Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.1)
    3. Install Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 (11.1.1)
    4. Configure SOA Suite (soa & bam) by creating domain - Administration and Managed Server in WebLogic
    5. Start Administration & Managed Server (soa_server1, bam_server1) for SOA 11g R1
I tried to install one by one. When I run repository creation utility in oracle DB 11g it failed so unable to proceed further. I tried 3 times all failed.
Any help on installation process will be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sunam

    Hi,
What is the error you are getting in your RCU?
If it is related to some processes, then you need to adjust your db processes value.
Login to DB as sysdba. Run this following command.
SQL > conn sys as sysdba
    SQL >alter system set processes = 2300 scope = spfile;
    SQL > shutdown immediate
    SQL > startup
    Then retry with RCU.
Let me know if this helps!!!

  • Staging installable files for Oracle 11.5.10.2.

    Hi,
First of all, thanks to all those who have posted so useful threads about installing Oracle 11i on windows. I am trying the same with an external hard drive (250GB) and a laptop with 1GB RAM.
    <br><br>
I have done the CYGWIN, VC++, Perl, etc. setups and the following for staging the installation files. My question is that is this the correct way for staging, because my rapid installation is stuck at "Step 4 of 5", upper status bar is at 60% (Command: E\oracle\viscomm\temp\adruant.cmd) and the lower status bar is at 100% (Completed unzip <b>1230</b> of 1236).
    <br><br>
This is what I did for staging - first I tried to use the adautostg.pl script in StartCD\Disk1\rapitwiz folder, it staged the contents of the first CD (CL1, CL2...etc), but it did not do it for the rest. Then I found that the staging done by this script is the same as just unzipping the contents of the files in one staging folder. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG HERE.
    <br><br>
Also, I have staged (unzipped) only the following CDs in the Stage11i folder. Do I need to unzip the other files too?
    <br><br>
    1. Oracle® Applications 11i Release 11.5.10.2 Rapid Install Start Here - Disk 1<br>

    7. Oracle® Applications 11i Release 11.5.10.2 for Microsoft Windows Rapid Install APPL_TOP - Disk 1<br>
    <br><br>
I have NOT unzipped the following (and any others in the download link on edelivery.oracle.com).<br>
    1. Oracle® Forms and Reports 6i Release 2 for Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP<br>
    2. Oracle® Discoverer Administration Edition, Version 4.1.37 for Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP<br>
    3. Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Release 9.2.0.2.8 for Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP<br>
    <br><br>
I am not sure why is the installation stuck. Can anyone help me with this?
    <br><br>
One more thing that may be of importance is that I have setup my hosts file entry as
    <br><br>
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    <br>
    172.17.163.252 localhost.gdhir.com
    <br><br>
Where 172.17.163.252 is my 'current' ip address when I connect to the internet. The pre-installation checks succeed only if I add this line to my hosts file. Otherwise it gives error in pre-installation.
    <br><br>
I noticed that my internet connection was not working in between and my question related to this is that - is it possible that the installation is stuck because of this reason? Now the internet is working but the installation is not moving forward.
    <br><br>
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    <br><br>
    Thanks,
    Dhir.

    1) Stop the installer and clean your previous Oracle applications installation (Note: 107961.1 should be helpful). Don't forget to REBOOT the machine
    2) Install Microsoft loopback adapter and add the following entry in the hosts file
10.10.10.10 localhost.gdhir.com (I assume you use 10.10.10.10 as the IP address when configuring your loopback adapter) .. Remove the entry (172.17.163.252 localhost.gdhir.com) from your hosts file
    3) ping localhost.gdhir.com --> should return 10.10.10.10
    4) Start the installation of Oracle applications
The pre-installation checks will succeed now (regardless you are connected to the internet or not)

    Hi SRP,
If Oracle XE is installed you will an OracleServiceXE in your services panel. You can access the database via sqlplus, SQLDeveloper or via the management control - http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex.
There are some keyword driven frameworks out there already - just google for them. Or you can develop your own - this would mean getting familiar with the tool and building it out whihc is a bigger job than can be detailed here (and will also be related to the app under test). Have a look at the OpenScript users guide in c:\oracleats\docs\en.
There are also some starter kits for ebusiness, jde etc that can be downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/app-test/index-084446.html. These might be a good place to start.
    Cheers,
