"Installation is forbidden by system policy -  Error: 1625" when installing Adobe Products.

Hi All,
We run Windows 7 Ent 64 bit OS in our company and recently we have started getting the following error "Installation is forbidden by system policy -  Error: 1625" when installing Adobe Products even though i am logged in as an Administrator.
We do not have any policies configured in our enviroment to restrict installations.
Thanks

Hi,
May this will help you...
Error 1625: This installation is forbidden by system policy occurs when installing or updating TurboTax.
Possible Causes
You're not logged in as an administrator.
Your Windows Installer system policy prevents you from installing digitally-signed software updates.
Solutions
Log on to your computer with administrative rights, and then install (or update) TurboTax.
If that doesn't work, you will need to enable installation of digitally-signed software updates:
Windows 7, 8 or Vista
Hold down the Windows key and press R to bring up the Run window.
On the Run window, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.
On the Local Group Policy window, navigate to Local Computer Policy, then Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates, then Windows Components, and then Windows Installer.
Double-click Prohibit non-administrators from applying vendor-signed updates.
Click Disabled, and then click OK.
Windows XP
Click Start on the Windows taskbar, and then click Run.
On the Run window, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.
On the Group Policy window, navigate to Local Computer Policy, then Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates, then Windows Components, and then Windows Installer.
Double-click Prohibit non-administrators from applying vendor signed updates.
Click Disabled, and then click OK.

  • Error 1625 when installing MSI

I have a state assessment that needs to be distributed to student
laptops. The students have only power users right to the workstation.
When deploying the MSI using zenworks I have checked the environment
option to use "Executable Security Level: Run as secure system user".
When the students try to run the application it still returnes the error
code 1625 (This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your
system administrator.) The MSI will install correctly when administrative
rights are given. The application is associated by username can anyone
think of anything that might help with this?
    Thanks
    Rich

The "Security Level" setting does not effect MSI installs, but ZENworks will
instruct the MSI Installer service to run with elevated privileges which
    should give the necessary rights.
It may be possible that the MSI was written to specifically check for admin
    rights.........
To correct this you would need to edit the MSI to remove the AdminUser from
    the LaunchConditino section.
It may also be possible that the MSI is written in such a fashion that it
calls an executable during the setup that is not MSI.
In such cases the MSI Installer service cant elevate that process and hence
    issues could occur.
In such cases running MSIEXEC as the executable as an unsecure system user
with the correct parameters for your MSI may help.
The need to do this, however, is fairly unusual
The issues these two methods address are totally different and generally
only one addresses a particular issue.
The first addresses the issue in which there are sufficient rights, but the
MSI is making a faulty check and aborting.
The second address the issue of questionable MSIs which the MSI installer
service can elevate the privileges for non-msi components in the MSI.
Tools such as Orca and AdminStudio can be used to do this.

  • Error Message when installing Adobe AIR

Hi, I am running XP and previously had Adobe AIR installed ok.  I recently removed the install of Adobe AIR and have tried to reload it but get the below error message:
"An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
I have tried safe mode, registry cleaners, turning of the firewall, pop ups and anti-virus, to installing as an Administrator without luck and get exactly the same error message. I notice I am not alone after searching Google but haven’t found anything that works.
I would really appreciate some guidance on what do next or from someone that has experienced the same issues.
    Many Thanks

    Hi Chris,
Thanks for responding but I decided to rebuild the machine so its all resolved with a clean XP build.

  • The Installation is forbidden by System Policy....

    Hi,
While Installing indesign cs3 i'm facing this error "The installation is forbidden by your system policy.please Contact administrator"
I really don't know which this error is occuring.
    Please Help me out.
    Thanks in advance
    Hitesh

The error message seems to be indicating you don't have the rights/privileges to install the software on your system.
Is this part of some corporate network, or your own stand-alone workstation. If corporate, contact your IT department for help, if stand-alone, try logging in as Administrator.

  • Error 1722 when installing Adobe Flash Player 10.1 (Active X MSI)

    Hi,
I'm experiencing an issue with installing the latest Adobe Flash 10.1 (ActiveX MSI) on Windows XP.
It's coming up with error code 1722 stating...
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action NewCustomAction1, location: ...\InstallAX.exe, com..."
I've tried many things such as SubInACL resets, ISScript 11 installer, adobe uninstallers, manually register ocx files, using the local administrator account, changing Internet Explorer Security settings, running Proc Mon to identify the issue - to no avail -, downloading the MSI file again, running the EXE file, but I can't seem to install the player.
The real scary side to this is that it seems to me that it's too unstable for me to deploy it across the entire corporate network due to using these fixes to have the player installed.
Is anybody able to comment or assist in finding a solution to this problem.
    Regards,
    SG

    Success!!
I found the reason why the Adobe Flash Player Active X Control wasn't installing properly was due to McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise.
The Access Protection - Anti-Spyware Standard Protection module was causing the executables (when installing) to NOT accessing specific parts of the registry to complete the installation.
I've had to make the following changes to my McAfee policies in order to allow the Adobe Flash Player Active X Control to install successfully.
Anti-Spyware Standard Protection - Protect Internet Explorer favorites and settings
    Processess to exclude:-
     InstallAX.exe
    FlashUtil10h.exe
    Uninstall_flash_player.exe
You might be able to make similar changes to your environment if you're using another product.
I hope this helps anyone who is experiencing the same issue that I was experiencing whilst trying to understand what was happening in our environment.
    All the best,
    spirosl

  • Error 160400 when installing adobe reader

I got a hint there was an update available. I downloaded the update and when installing I got the message: error 160400.
How can I solve this problem?
    I am using windows vista.
    Harry

    Hi,
The error is related to the failure to access Windows Service information.
It would be helpful if you could provide your current Reader version.
Depending on what you have installed, there are different updates available here- http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html
You can download appropriate Update directly and install it without Updater.
Meanwhile, would it be possible for you to send me a content of the Updater log file?
    The file name is AdobeARM.log
It can be found in the folder below on Vista systems:
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp

The log covers many attempts.  The latest was on 29th September.
Following a suggestion in another forum thread, I checked the file permissions for folder 'c:\users\martin\appdata\local\temp'.   As far as I can see, they give full control to the SYSTEM, administrator and sole user (martin) accounts.  There are no options with 'Deny' against them.
I have run Microsoft FixIt.  I also tried the Windows Installer Cleanup utility (msicuu2.exe) but I got 'Access Denied' with no further details.
    Any suggestions?

I have managed to edit the Registry so as to get the Windows Installer (MSIExec) to write a verbose (detailed) log.  From this, and some web forums, I found that the problem has been caused by a Microsoft Windows security update, KB2918614.  This was applied on my PC on 14 August but I think it was released on 12 August.  My Windows version is Vista and I don't know if this update or a similar has been applied to other Windows versions.
For more information see wix-users - SECREPAIR: CryptAcquireContext: Could not create the default key container.
I went into Windows Update on my Control Panel and found how to uninstall update KB2918614.  When I had done this, followed by a Restart, I was able to install AIR and the software that uses it.

  • Why do I receive error messages when installing Adobe air installation packages?

I have Adobe Air Applications installed on my Dell XPS laptop but when i try and add new applications I get an error messaage that the installation file is corrupt.
I am not convinced that this is the case, it is happening too often. I think that Adobe Air is the problem but Adobe seem oblivious and not offering any support.

Thanks. I tried it and got the same error message. To me it's obvious that Adobe upgrades and programs have serious bugs in their install programs. I find this incredible from a company that creates such sophisticated programs and they cannot create install programs that actually work!!
