Did you connect it to your computer, launch iTunes so you can sync your iTunes content, photos, music, etc ??

CR Dev XI Installation Error - "Installation Suspended, Incomplete"

I am attempting to do an unattended installation of CR Dev XI using the installation parameters defined in the user documentation. What I am running into is a consistant error message "Crystal Reports Setup Error" "Installation Suspended, Incomplete ".The install runs 99% of the way and when the error occurs the install aborts and the shortcuts are not created. When attempting to launch the application it displays an error "Couldn't find Keycode.dll".
If I run the same installation script a second time on the same machine - the installation kicks into repair mode and completes the install.
I was able to trap the MSI exit code and the MSIEXEC returns a "0" - which indicates that MSIEXEC installed the code in total with no MSI errors detectable.
The script string is the following:
Setup.exe" CLIENTLANGUAGE=EN REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qb! PIDKEY=XXXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports Developer 11" COMMONDIR="C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0" ADDLOCAL=ALL
Note the the PID has been X'ed out I have tried a variety of MSI switches ( /qr , /qn, etc ... ) and the results are the same.
How can I get this app to install cleanly on the first pass? Is there an updated install? I am trying to install Crystal Rpt Dev 11 - Version 11.0.0.1282.
Any insight is greatly appreciated...

I'm having a similar problem when trying to install CR Pro 11.5. Here's the string that we have been using.
start /high setup.exe ADDLOCAL=ALL EXCLUDEDOTNETFILES=1 EXCLUDEJAVAFILES=1 EXCLUDERDCFILES=1 CLIENTLANGUAGE=EN REBOOT=ReallySuppress PIDKEY=XXXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11.5" /le c:\temp\cr_11.log /qn
The last part of the string is for logging and we are consistantly seeing an error at the end of the installation returning an error of 1603 when we set an ALLUSERS=1 and a 1604 when we use ALLUSERS=2.
The results are the same as yours. If I interrupt the installation after the error, but before it is completely backed out, and reboot the machine, the installation picks up and completes successfully. The problem area seems to be in the adding of the shortcuts to either the All Users desktop or the specific users desktop.
We are at a point where we are going to open a support call in order to get this resolved, but it sounds like a bug in their installer.

Microwave Installation Left Incomplete

Back on Black Friday we purchased multiple items and delayed delivery. Once a date was chosen I was able to make a delivery date with most of the items, but for some reason the Microwave was on another delivery order. This order was in "transit" for over a week. So each time i called, multiple times with multiple dropped calls (never got a call back) with about 3 hours spent, i was told that it could not be scheduled because it was in transit. Finally a day before everything else was scheduled I had enough and said that their system was wrong and that it had been "in transit" for over a week. After another dropped call (company NEVER called me back any of the times a call was dropped) I found that someone updated the status and got it to be added to our delivery for the next day.
We get everything delivered, Fridge, Washer and Dryer are all installed easily and we are happy, but they then tell us that they do not do the installation of the Range Microwave (would have been nice to know upfront, we really wanted to use it that day) and leave it in our kitchen and tell us to call a number for Geek Squad to install if they didn't call us. We call, and we are not on their books for an installation job and the only times they have available are during our work hours so I beg my dad to come and sit for a few hours until it is done.
When I get home it is discovered that they tore apart the vent cover above the cupboards (not able to reuse same boards now) and left the vent disconnected. The vent is completely open to the inside of the house and they state that they cannot fix whatever is wrong with the vent that they have to hook up to and said they have more jobs to go to and left. Said we have to pay more money for an H-Vac person to come and take care of the rest apparently.
They did a job that my husband and I could have done and then walked away because they had other jobs they had to get to and supposedly what had to be done was outside their scope of work. Why have an installer that cannot fix something that they come accross with installations? We are VERY UPSET and when we called the rep was very nice but couldn't help us since it isn't Best Buy that installs and gave us a number to call in the morning. I called the installation company in the morning and they could have cared less to help us out.
We are VERY UPSET that we paid for a full install and now have to pay someone else apparently to finish a job that Best Buy should have done, plus they left our house worse off then it was! Not only will we have to take time off work to call and wait for someone to come out to finish the job, but we will also have to hire a handyman to cover the vent with wood that matches our cupboards. We had a vent hooked up to it right before the new Microwave vent was put on, it worked fine for that one, Why would it now not work for a new one?!
Please help us out here Best Buy! We bought from you because we thought we could trust you, and now we NEVER want to buy another installation item from you again! This sounds like it is a MAJOR issue with your company. Help make us happy again somehow.

I did hear back on this. I was informed the reason the installation was not completed was because the HVAC ductwork could not be hooked up to the microwave. The reason for this is the venting was physically off by a few inches.
In order to get the microwave installed this HVAC needs to be moved so it matches up to the microwave. I was informed that these installers are not skilled to move HVAC, and this really isn't surprising given they are appliance installers not HVAC contractors. In addition, I know in the city I live in any work to your homes HVAC has to be signed off on by a city inspector.
In order to get this microwave installed you will need to hire an HVAC contractor to move this venting. I truly am sorry for the disappointing experience, but we have no way of getting this work done for you. If you do get this venting moved to match up with this microwave let me know and I will see if we can send the installers back out to complete the installation.

Cannot install because installer is incomplete

I have been trying to install Flash on my MacBook Pro running 10.9.4. I followed the troubleshooting on the Adobe website and discovered that the installer downloaded directly from Adobe does not contain the Adobe Flash.pkg file required in the Resources folder. This is obviously a problem on Adobe's end. How can I get an installer that is complete and works?

Installation of iPhoto 8 incomplete

I have the iLife CD, and the iPhoto and iMovie installs are incomplete. I don't have the templates for iPhoto- not book,calendar nor card. Any thoughts?

Look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation.

Installation of Essbase 11.1.1.3 Client on Windows 2008 SP4 64bit

Hi all,
I`m trying to install Essbase Client 11.1.13 64bit on a Windows 2008 Server (64bit) . Setup runs fine but when I look into the installed directories and look for esscmd.exe oder essmsh.exe these files are not installed. The bin-directory contains only two files. startesscmd and startessmsh. When I want to reinstall it the setup program told me that the essbase client is already installed. So I delete the whole installation directory, the oracle directory, registry settings but setup still says that the essbase client is installed.
So how to run the setup again and what could be the problem that the client installation is incomplete?

Installation of Nokia Software Updater

Hi, so I was trying to install Nokia Software Updater. When the installation is at 18 % it says:
Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Msxml2.FreeThreadedDOMDocument.4.0\CLSID. Ensure you have etc. etc.....
Then you can press only okay. Installation jumps to 31% and then suddenly 30%. After that it says installation was incomplete because of serios failure.
Wheres the problem?

N 95 tried to download off disc ovi suite it downloaded it all apart from software update came up fatal error but no code i then tried to get the updates off of nokia website same problem.

Clean Win7 installation in infinite cycle

I am attempting to downgrade from Win8 to Win7 Ultimate 64bit.   I have installed a new SSD and disconnected my old Win 8 drive. The clean installation process started normally but eventually hung on the "Completing Installation".  I
am running i7 and 6GB of RAM, so I assumed it was hung for good after nearly 2 hours and no apparent progress or DVD spin. I hard rebooted as a last resort.  Maybe it was premature .. I don't know. The computer now boots to Win7 with
empty desktop except for a single model dialog that states something like "Installation is incomplete. Please click the OK button and the computer will reboot to complete the installation".   The subsequent reboot ends exactly like
the first.   When I boot from the DVD installation, it loads to a blank desktop (only background) and no ability to do anything. I must hard reboot at this point too.
At this point, I am just looking for a way to fix this or wipe the drive and start anew.   I can't seem to figure out how to do either.   I am not a BIOS and boot disk guy, so if you are kind enough to help, would you please provide detailed
instructions. Please don't tell me to boot to DISKPART and expect me to understand :-)).

Is this a new installation of GarageBand or has it worked before on the same computer?
Or have you transferrred your GarageBand from a different computer?
The error message is saying, that your GarageBand installation is incomplete. There are essential foldrs missing in your system library.
Check, if indeed both folders are missing or if only the permissions are set incorrectly.
Your system library (the folder "System" directly on your system drive) should have the following folders inside the folder "Audio", and they need to be readable by the system and by administrators.
And in the folder /Library/Application Support there should be the Instrument Library.
If these folders do not exist (or no longer exist), restore them from your backup- If your GarageBand version is a new installation, the application may not hve been downloaded or installed completely, then reinstall GarageBand.
What is your GarageBAnd version, and how did you install it originally?

Hanging with Oracle 10g release 2 on Windows XP !!!

I am trying to Install Oracle 10g release 2(10.2.0.1.0) on Windows XP Professional(SP2).
Existing environment:
1. Java(SDK & Runtime Environment) 6 update 1.
2. Configured Eclipse.
The installed procedure:
1. Downloaded "10201_database_win32.zip" from Oracle website.
2. Unzip it and run setup.exe
3. It gives an error like below :
"javaw.exe - Entry Point Not Found"
"The procedure entry point longjmp could not be located in the dynnamik link library orauts.dll."
Installation completed(forcefully) without the below.
1. Oracle Net Configuration Assistant (Failed)
2. Oracle Database Configuration Assistant (Failed).
and in services: "No Oracle process exist".
I tried the below:
A. Change the environment variables (remove ORACLE_HOME/ORACLE_SID etc)
B. 2 to 5 times un-install oracle(including registry, directory etc) and install.
C. Uninstall Java SDK & Runtime Env. Then install Oracle.
D. Installing Personal edition, Enterprise edition etc etc.
E. Checked the orauts.dll in 3 places(i. BIN ii. out/bin iii. oui/lib/win32
F. Copied the orauts.dll to system32 directory.
What ever I do the above appers all the time and installation is incomplete.
Due to this problem I couldn't move further, please do help me in solving this.

I am Srinivas Here who had been trying to install Oracle Database 10G on Windows X86 on Windows XP Professional.
If you have Win-XP Professional as your Operating System. Do not download the oracle Database using windows - XP Professional because XP will block certain installation files while downloading. In your machine install Windows 2000 or any other Windows version as a dual boot. First the download Database Zip files using your other version of Windows Operating system and then when you Unzip the files it will create a folder called Database and all the files will be present in it.If you want to store the same to cd for having to install the 10G Rel 2 database through CD then copy the contents of the unzipped database folder and store only the contents of the database folder and write them to CD's. Please see to it that while writing on cd's do not copy the folder itself .
After this, restart the system and get into windows XP Professional (Your XP Professional should be with Service Pack 2 in order to install 10G Database on windows XP - The Basic requirements for Oracle Database 10G on Windows X86).
I request you to check the software and hardware requirements from oracle Documents before you install the Oracle Database 10G on Windows x86 as well as Oracle Database 10G on Linux X86 or any other operating systems.
Finally, After you run the Oracle Universal installer in the last you will get messages for all products installed Success and finally it will ask the password for DBA and open the password management and give the password and reenter password and on the left you will have to unlock the items you would like to use.
In the last it will give you various URL links for Isqlplus, DBA, Enterprise Manager and a log report stored into oracle directory stored in your C:\Program files\Oracle folders. The correct link will be given at the end and you will have to watch the installation carefully.You can find DBCA and other options working. Try login in to Oracle through Command prompt, Sqlplus prompt availabe in Start ->Programs->Orahome10G->application Development-sqlplus as well as login through isqlplus link- Before this you should login at the command prompt as SYSDBA. YOU CAN SEE THAT YOUR DATABASE IS NOW WORKING IN WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL.

Officejet J4680 and windows 8.1

I went to the drivers section for my OfficeJet J4680 printer and downloaded the Full download for the printer so that I could install in on my new windows 8.1 64bit desktop pc. I had not problem installing or connecting the printer to the desktop (wireless connection only) and I can print. However, when I clicked to use the HP Solution Center I get a message that the HP Solution Center cannot run because my device installation is not complete. I did the same installation process that I had done on my old desktop running XP Pro and on the laptop running Vista Home Premium. But I get that message when trying to use the Solution Center on my new desktop running Windows 8.1 (64bit) Home version.
I did find some information at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-hardware/how-to-install-hp-j4680-printer-... regarding how to install the J4680 on Windows 8. However, I can't get any of the links from that page to even load. I am actually having all sorts of issues getting any of the HP pages to load - but I can access anything else on the internet without any issues.
I am guessing that there is an issue with HP links today, so I will try those steps at a later date (if in fact that is what I need to do to resolve the issue for the Solution Center not working on my Windows 8.1 64bit Home desktop).
Am I missing something? I do have the drivers for the printer (for the Vista laptop) available but I am guessing that those drivers will not work.
How do I get the Solution Center to work in Windows 8.1? The rest of that message states.... Please plug in the USB cable or re-run the setup program from the installation CD for a network installation. If this does not complete the installation, or you do not have the CD, access the HP help files by clicking the start menu. There is no Help file in the start menu of the HP printer and I did check the HP update and it states that there are no new updates available for my system and that the drivers and software are up to date.
I am not sure what I should be entering in the MS Help section regarding this problem and it does state the HP help files

I noticed your posts about the error message "the device installation is incomplete" you are seeing when you attempt to install your printer on Windows 8.1. I am going to share some of my suggestions with you.
1. Check that Internet Explorer pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer

Try to install
2. If you're running McAfee Live Safe or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real time scanning".
How to disable realtime scans
Try the install
3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.

Saved Selections missing from Spreadsheet Add-in

One of my end users is having a problem with the Oracle Spreadsheet Add-In that no-one else seems to be having and I'm at a loss for what to suggest to him.
Yesterday he encountered some network related problem which left it impossible for the Spreadsheet Add-in to connect to the AW on the database. Everybody else that uses OLAP cubes was still able to connect without problems. When he entered the username and password and pressed connect the system hangs for a few seconds and then returns to the spreadsheet without invoking the wizard. Our desktop services team looked at the problem and couldn't resolve it so have re-installed the Spreadsheet Add-In. This has resolved his connection problems and he is able to build his own queries using the cubes.
The problem that he is now finding is that the saved selection criteria that he had previously been using was no longer visible to him. I.e. when he is in the wizard building a query based on a cube, he selects, say, the time dimension, and rather than selecting from the members tab on the left-hand side of the screen, he moves to the Saved Selection tab. It is at this point that he would usually see a list of his previously saved selections - but he doesn't see any folders or selections.
When I reproduce his steps on my computer I see a folder called Users and then another folder with the schema name and then underneath that there are a number of saved selections. I can select these without any problems.
I'm not sure if this problem is related to permissions somewhere or if somehow the installation is incomplete.
Has anyone encountered this before??

The first step to resolving this issue is to check your Analytic Workspace is working. Within AWM can you right click on each dimension and select the option "View data" - make sure you can drill up and down on each dimension. Then repeat this process for each of your cubes. I suspect there is something wrong with either a dimension or cube. If you cannot see data within AWM then Excel will not with either.
If the data viewer in AWM is working OK, then Excel should work as well.

How can I remove Firefox 4.0 from my computer?

I recently attempted to install Firefox 4.0, but I have been unable to complete the installation.
Every time I have tried to use 4.0, I have gotten a message that tells me to restart my computer to complete installation. However, after I've restarted the computer numerous times, the installation remains incomplete. Instead of the usual Firefox icon, there is an icon of an open box and a disc.
After many attempts to complete the installation of 4.0, I tried to uninstall it. However, the computer refused to uninstall it, because the program never finished installing in the first place. I got the usual message to restart the computer, which accomplished nothing.
I then tried to use System Restore to restore the previous version of Firefox, but the computer could not complete the restoration, because 4.0 has not finished installing. After using System Restore, Firefox 3.6.15 is now listed in the Programs list, but I still cannot uninstall it. I still get the "restart computer" message.
Currently, I'm still seeing the box/disc icon, but now when I click it, it does nothing at all.
Is there no way to rid my computer of the awful scourge that is Firefox 4.0?

 The install path for ACR in Photoshop 7 and 8 is entirely different from the above. So you can have all four iterations of ACR installed, one for each version of Photoshop.
 
 I keep Photoshop 7.0.1, 8, 9.0.2 and 10 installed. I can even run more than one version of Photoshop at once, I just have to start the older version first.

HP Solution Center won't work with Windows 7

Are there any current workarounds to using the HP Solution Center (for scanning / faxing / printer) for HP Printers with Windows 7 ?
I have an HP Photosmart C7280 (wireless), have installed, re-installed, un-installed, installed from hp.com, installed from CD from HP, and the Windows 7 drivers for my HP printer over-ride the HP drivers.
I have followed every single firewall configuration for the HP printer software, network configuration, wireless modifications, etc, but windows 7 drivers always over-ride the hp. Either the HP Full Install crashes with fatal errors during installation, or it will work for 5 minutes, and when I reboot the laptop or turn the printer on, the HP Solution Center will share that the installation is incomplete, and to run the setup again.
Although I love my new HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with Windows 7, I'm frustrated that my pile of paperwork to scan cannot be done until the HP "all-in-one" printers are compatible with Windows 7. I can print, but am not able to do anything else.

Problem installing Adobe Photoshop Elements10--"Shared Technologies" fails to install.

I have had a problem trying to install a purchased disc set of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. The "Shared Technologies" has failed to install so the installation is incomplete. Tried online chat, which was helpful, but failed to solve the problem before we were cutoff. Need help. Thanks.
