Installation of 1310's

I hope this is in the right area, so here it goes.
I am trying to layout an access point install consisting of Aironet 1310's. It is for a warehouse location and it is at 0 degrees all the time so it was a good choice considering there broad temperature range. However I am not sure how exactly to lay them out to get good coverage. I have thought about mouting at the end of an aisle and then running a cable (for the second antenna) to the other end of the aisle. The other thought would be to mount one every other aisle and run a cable over to the next aisle and get coverage that way. I guess my questions are, which will provide me the best coverage without having to run large amounts of cable?
Thanks

To answer your question you will have to provide much more information on the area where you plan to deploy the Wireless network. I would suggest that you perform a site survey for best results. There are lot of firms which specialise in site survey. A good site survey will help you determine the correct placement locations for your wireless devices and also ensure complete coverage.

    How do I resolve?

this worked for, at least, one other person with the same error while trying to install adobe reader:  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-1310-error-writing-file.html

  • Adobe Reader & Windows Vista

I have an embroidery machine which has the embroidery designs in PDFs. I am using Windows Vista and cannot download Adobe Reader. When I try, I get the following message. "Adobe Reader Installation error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\configure.msi\PFEFFD.tmp. Verify that you have access to that directory." I need the steps to fix the error so that I can use the embroidery machine.

You may want to try running this fix from Microsoft and uninstall all traces of any versions of Reader:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
If you want to reinstall Reader, download its full installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

I finally got the cloud to install and function on my laptop. Once i went to install LR, it downloaded most of the way then gave me the following message.

    Anyone have any insight?

Firstly, thanks for trying to help.
Secondly, I've (1) already seen the links and tried everything within them, (2) had iTunes on this computer before (so I assume that it's a software problem, and not a hardware problem). Also, for mention, I have a 40 gig Ipod, not a shuffle.
Again, thanks for the information, but I've already tried it before you mentioned it. I thought I had clearly pointed out that I had done that beforehand in my first post.
Would anyone have any other suggestions that are more specific to this problem? I guess I'll downgrade onto an older version of Itunes until you guys get the bugs out of this version... Disappointing, in the least, I must say... :/

  • Acrobat Update Installation Failure, Error 1310

I can't complete installation of my latest Adober Acrobat Update (10.1.1). It starts installing, then rolls back and terminates, Error 1310, telling me that I don't have access to a certain directory. What's up with that?

Try the suggested solutions and check if that helps.

  • Installation failure on Windows 2000

Hi, we've successfully installed Weblogic Server 5.1.0 (InstallShield
version) on a Windows 2000 Professional, but cannot get it to install on our
test server which is running Windows 2000 Server.
The installer goes through the motions of copying files but dies abruptly
with no error message before completing. In the end, we have a c:\weblogic
directory but no Start Menu entries. And uninstalling is impossible (we get
an error about a corrupt del.isu file).
The OS writes a message to the event log (included below). Somewhere in the
message is "access violation". What does this mean? The user doing the
installation is in the local Administrators group; installing this way has
worked on another computer running Windows 2000 Professional.
This particular machine is a Dell PowerEdge 2 CPU Pentium 866Mhz machine.
The other machine (on which the server installs properly) is a Dell
    Dimension Pentium desktop.

I would guess that BEA's installation problems are not just limited to Weblogic Server. I have a similar difficulty with Weblogic Platform 8.1 with SP2. The installer does not install the Java runtime, and the uninstall is dependent upon that.
Not impressed BEA. You have some work to do.

Originally I got this error message:

A user give me this response:
hi jhohn1190, this problem won't be related to javascript which is enabled in firefox by default - this would only apply if you're not able to download the setup file at all. since the error message is referencing missing privileges, please try right-clicking and running the setup as administrator. in case this doesn't help, please contact adobe's support in order to get their product working.
I did what he said and now I get this error message:
"Error 1310. Error writing to file:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\AcroTextExtractor.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory.” Note that
At least this time the sub directories "Adobe\Reader 11.0" exist, but below them is another - empty - directory "Reader", and nothing else. I'd appreciate more help,
    and thanks ...

Please continue in your original thread.

  • Error 1310: my monthslong nightmare, my scourge, my nemesis

Several months ago -- after installing a new version of Adobe Reader, I strongly suspect -- I began having a problem with Acrobat. Every time I log in to any user account on my laptop, an installation program activates, claiming to be "Configuring Acrobat 7.1.0." Every time, it stops with this error message:
Error 1310.Error writing to file: C\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat7.0\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.
    Cancel Retry Ignore
Screwy punctuation is exactly as it appears on my screen.
Canceling gets me out of the installer, but it doesn't make the problem go away -- the next time I start a session, the installer comes up all over again. Retry never works. Ignore seems to work -- then it makes me restart my system, and after I do, the installer comes up all over again. AAAARRRRGGGHHH.
The ...\Acrobat7.0\ActiveX directory contains three visible files. I can't delete any of them. I can't rename any of them. I can't delete the directory. Despite the fact that I am the system administrator, with all attendant privileges thereto, I am totally locked out from modifying this directory in any way. I can't even use my system administrator privileges to change system administrator privileges on this directory. It has gone rogue.
I've uninstalled all instances of Adobe Reader on my machine. No effect. I've tried to repair my installation of Acrobat. No effect. I hesitate to uninstall Acrobat because if I do, I'm worried that I won't be able to reinstall it.
I cannot be the only one this is happening to. Please give me an answer before I go Milton on somebody.
P.S. I'm on a Toshiba Satellite A510 laptop running Windows Vista.

OK, it figures that after suffering through this problem for months, I manage to solve it just minutes after posting my query.
I went into the ...\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX directory and opened up the security settings again. This time, just monkeying around, I tried changing the ownership of the directory from SYSTEM to the name of the user account I was logged into. Incredibly, when I did that, I was suddenly able to change the security settings, which I couldn't do as the system administrator! Emboldened, I tried changing the ownership of the three undeletable files in the directory, and after doing so, I was able to change their security settings too. Having done so, I deleted the whole kit and caboodle and restarted my system. The installer ran once, completed without errors, restarted my system one more time and has not reared its head again. It's insane, but it worked.

  • Reader v11 Update fails on Windows Vista (entire network) with error 1310

Tried to run the Reader v11 updater after installing v11.  It fails comsistently with error 1310, although the file in the error message is different each time.  The file is usually, but not always, in the folder config.msi.
We had this problem in the Reader v10 updaters as well, however we traced it to a race condition in file handling.  We could get it to install by running other programs concurently or disabling anti-virus, to alter the timing of the install.  Usually it took 3 to 6 attempts for it to complete successfully.
With the v11 updater, no amount of iterations will get it to install.  We've tried upwards of 20 times.  We've also tried re-installing v11 and then applying the update over a fresh copy.  That does not work either.  The usual tricks that worked with v10 also do not work with v11.
This problem could be solved easily if the updater would prompt the user for a retry on error, instead of automatically rolling back.  For the main installer, the user is prompted to retry, but not for the updater.  We run plenty of installers in the school without problems, but the Reader updates are always difficult.
We have wasted dozens of hours on this in our school.  We are supposed to keep the Reader patched to avoid the significant vulnerabilities it introduces, but we cannot get the updater to run.  If anyone else has solved this problem please let us know.

Lorraine, I posted a question in the Adobe Reader forums about the
problems we have with the updaters.  I got back this response, they
are blaming it on other software and the Windows Installer.  I think
that can't be true, we install all kinds of stuff without problems.
So I think the truth is they've done a crappy job on their updaters.
The latest update is for an extremely serious vulnerability, it's
active in the  wild and has made the national news.  So if we can't
install the update, then I think we have to move away from Adobe
    altogether, to another reader.
Can you think of any reason not to do this?

  • Windows 7 (64-bit) did not install scanner part of 1310 Series 1315xi.,,

Just bought 64-bit Windows 7, which  detected and reInstalled my All-in-One's Printer and Copier, working well, so I don't want to buy new,  but did  not  install  Scanner.   My 1310 Series installation disk was  not  for  Windows 7, actually, nothing past  Vista and XP, and   Win 7 doesn't  seem to be recognizing  even  new  dIsks, taking it in tomorrow for a D-Drive. Is   there  a  1310 Series  installation disk   for  Windows  7?   My All-in-One is actually year  2004 ,   1315xi,  and   when  I bought it,  only the Series disk would install  it.    The  printing and copying  equipment works   so  well  that  I  do  not  want  to  buy a  new  printer.   Would I have to first UnInstall  the whole thing to use  new  installation  disk  to  include  Scanning?  Thanks in  Advance.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

You need to have the TWAIN driver for the 1315xi in order to use the scanner.
There is no Windows 7 scanner software available from HP.

  • Acrobat X Installation failures

Hi guys, Please bare with me, i'm having a number of installation issues on one of my computers (but not the other)
I am installing the entire CS6 suite, which has gone well, except for Acrobat X
    System Specs
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit
    16Gb Ram
    128Mb SSD
    Intel i7 2600
    The full Story:
I was installing the suite, the computer crashed and froze while installing the CS6 suite i belive it froze on Acrobat
I rebooted it and installed again.  Everything went well except for Acrobat X which gave errors similar to the one below
I rebooted into Safe mode and tried installing Acrobat X only, through there.  BSOD!
I have followed the recommendations for Error 1310 to the letter and have checked and changed permissions,  I've watched the Config.msi folder during installation and it is certainly not the problem (Files are created, written to, and removed during the failed install exactly how they would eb expected)
I have even had an Adobe employee log in and try to install the Trail version of Acrobat X etc....
I have tried installing it from CS5.5 Installation files in case it was a corrupt file....  All three installers have failed.
I can't think of anything else to do.
Should i install Acrobat Pro 9 from CS5? and then try installing Acrobat X again?  Should i reinstall windows?

  • SQL Developer Installation Problems

    Hi,
We are trying to find a workable alternative to TOAD and have tried to install SQL Developer with not much success.... I think I am just about to give up but hope this last attempt to post for help can create a miracle.
I would appreciate very much if any one knows of a comprehensive document out there that can help trouble shoot the installation problems.
Let me give you the hardware and software versions first and then the problems.
    1) SQL Developer tried: sqldeveloper-1.2.1.3213-no-jre and sqldeveloper-1.2.1.3213
    2) JRE tried: JRE 1.5 and JRE 6 (C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03)
    3) Window: XP Professional version 2002 Service pack 2
    4) Hardware: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz, 1.98 GB of RAM
    Problems:
    1) SQL Developer could not find native JDBC. I don't understand why, despite all the variables set in Oracleclient10g_basic in the registry, SQL Developer did not seem to be able to find a 10g client on a network drive. I have to install 10g client directly onto my pc (C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1) to solve this problem.
    2) SQL Developer abruptly disappeared after database login.
I was able to connect and log into an Oralce 10g database with TNS Connect Identifier approach. There were objects (tables, views, etc) showed up briefly on the left hand side of the SQL Developer and then it just completely disappeared without even an error message or a tearful good-bye.
The only thing I can find is this error log about EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. After hours searching through OTN for possible mentioning of this error with SQL Developer, I found nothing so far.
Why is it so difficult to install SQL Developer? Are there a set of un-spoken pre-requisites that has to be satisfied before it can be installed properly? If so, what are they? Path system variable? Registry? Anything else?
Here's the complete EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error log:

Is this a java problem? SQL Developer problem? Or something else?
    Thanks in advance,
    a TOAD lover

The problem you are seeing (the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) is a result of a version mismatch between the JDBC driver being used by SQL Developer and the Oracle client that is found on the path.
This issue only occurs when trying to use the OCI version of the JDBC driver. The simplest fix is to switch to using the basic connection type and thus using the thin (all Java) JDBC driver. As no Oracle client is required in this case, the version mismatch won't be an issue.
However, the connection approach you are using should work, and if you wish to try to sort out the problems there, we should be able to further diagnose the underlying cause of the version mismatch.
To do this, I would need to see what SQL Developer thinks are the potential Oracle client installs, as well as which install it ends up picking. Can you copy/paste the output in the Log Window (Logging Page) that is present after SQL Developer starts (but before you attempt to connect to any database)? There should be a whole series of entries like 'Checking for ORACLE_HOME environment variable' and 'Checking JDBC driver at <some path>'
These log entries are output by SQL Developer as it tries to sort out the various bits of information about Oracle client installs and thus give a peek at the selection logic being used.
Oh, and also - the value of your PATH variable would be useful as well. It may be that there is an Oracle client install on the PATH that supersedes the install SQL Developer is finding via the registry or ORACLE_HOME variable.

  • Error 1310. Error writing to file....Verify that you have access to that directory

    Hi
My system is running Win 7 Professional 32 bit with 4gig RAM
I am experiencing a problem installing a piece of software - Laplink PC Mover - I need to migrate to my new machine.
The installer starts and the grinds to a halt with the error message:
"Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Laplink PCMover Professional\Visit Laplink.com.url. Verify that you have access to that directory"
I understand from Laplink Tech Support that this is a generic Windows Installer problem, and searching the web it seems to crop up a lot.
I have done a lot of searching, including this site.
I have tried the solutions I have found so far:
Run as Administrator [my user profile has administrator rights but I tried that anyway]
Run from the Administrator user account
Install in Safe Mode - Windows tells me the installer is not available in safe mode!!!
Un-registering and re-registering the installer via msiexec
Using the SubInACL tool to repair file and registry permissions
After all of this, I get the same result - the installer halts with the same message.
Can anybody help? I am desperate to avoid two days solid re-installing all my expensive software, finding product keys etc.

    Hi,
You can test in Clean Boot mode to avoid the software conflicts, in experience, some anti-virus program would lead this corruption.
