Installation of Acrobat XI requires that I uninstall Acrobat 8. When I do that it hangs. How to fix

I have a new Acrobat XI serial number. When installing on Windows, it prompts to uninstall older version. I have Acrobat 8. When I uninstall is from Add Remove programs, it hangs. How do I do a clean uninstall of Acrobat 8?

Just use the Add/Remove Control panel first for Acrobat 8
Unfortunately the Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool tool that Bill@VT references only removes Acrobat & Reader version 9 and Acrobat & Reader version X. Acrobat 8 is not covered.

Acrobat freezes when I OCR pdf files. How do I fix this?!?

I just downloaded Adobe Acrobat 11 yesterday onto my MacBook Air. When I try to OCR documents Abobe semi-freezes, meaning that it won't let me save what it has just OCR'd, it won't let me close, it won't even let me minimize the window. I say "semi-freezes" because it actually does ask me if I want to "save," but trying to do that, or trying to decline to do that and close, is futile. The only way I can get out of this is to shut the computer down completely and then turn it back on again. This is a disaster because 90% of my job involves working with PDF files and I can't work unless I can OCR these documents. They are numerous, voluminous, and use many complex terms.
Please give me step-by-step instructions as to how to fix this, and please assume I know absolutely ZERO technical things about computers. Many thanks. Pete

I have used Acrobat 11 on a Macbook Air using both OX X,9 and X.10 without issue. Can I ask which version of Acrobat 11 you are using and what version of OS X? Additionally, are you seeing a freeze or a spinning pizza wheel of death. I have an older machine in which the spinning pizza wheel occurs whenever it feels like and I can wait for minutes before it returns control to me.

Images are not loading/not loading completely, persona previews no longer works with scrollover - even after complete uninstall/reinstall, but images work in IE - suggestions on how to fix this??

Images on websites often do not load or load incorrectly/incompletely load even after refreshing page and clearing caches. Often have to "clear recent history" 5 or 6 times within a single firefox session to get working links, images, completely loaded pages. The persona previews no longer do an "automatic preview" with a scroll over and now i no longer even get an image on the page to scroll over (images are just NOT THERE). I have done the safe mode test, have updated everything suggested, have checked all add ons as suggested in the troubleshooting guide and NOTHING shows as being a problem. I even did a complete uninstall and reinstall and it is STILL not working. Worried that it was an issue with my computer, i checked the pages in IE, and they worked PERFECTLY. I am uncertain what to do now. It started as a problem once or twice a week, and now it is EVERY time i bring up Firefox. Help?

the second article did offer a suggestion that SEEMS to have helped ::crosses fingers:: - an about:config, resetting of the preferences for images. we'll see how long it lasts. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the suggestion, the article wasn't one i'd found while searching for troubleshooting info.

Adobe Illustrator 2015 requires newer GPU driver than current 10.18.10.3496 version. How to fix?

I'm running Adobe Illustrator 2015 on my Sony Vaio Duo SVD112290X. On start up the Illustrator program informs you that the GPU is not current and needs to be updated. The latest driver on the Sony website is version 10.18.10.3434. Intel has updated there driver on their end but it seems that Sony is a little behind in their update. The Intel drivers won't install because the Vaio uses a customized version of the driver. Is there a work around or solution to this?

First uninstall Memory Clean using their instructions.
Then, read about and use Activity Monitor to try to diagnose whether any process is using a lot of CPU time (which may also be a cause of draining the battery):

No it didn't at all.
I went to the finder and saw several of the same .
When I called Apple they told me not to delete anything using the Finder… odd I thought, as that was the only way I could see the multiple videos and photos.
Do you think there is any harm in deleting from there directly if I have a good playable copy?

The clips/videos some are from iPhone 4.
I opened it manually and found 4 copies of most of the same videos, same names, some with slight variations. Don't know why.
Some are titled from iphoto /Masters don't know why that happened
Now I also have some clips with white dotted line on grey where the clip used to be? why would that occur??
In my finder there are now 97000 images. Yet I only have 22,000 in iphoto. Where are the rest located and why so many duplicates?
Have I checked a box somewhere and need to address that?

I just bought my MacBook Pro earlier today. I used the direct site to download Lion that the guy at the apple store gave me. Did everything correct and it said my serial number isnt valid. i tried using Apple support and says you need the serial number, that obviously didnt work either. what do i do?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

What "inHouse" account? The only Apple accounts that ever expire are paid services like additional iCloud storage. If all you have are free accounts with your AppleID (iTunes store, App store, iBook store, these forums, a basic free iCloud account, iMessage) then those never expire.
And I've never heard of anything referred to as an "inhhouse" account. Even if you have a for fee services account like additional iCloud storage, your upcoming renewal notice will specifically refer to your iCloud storage account, not something generic like "inhouse".

I'm having the same problems for some connections. I'm using
FMS3 and I almost never see this problem. My application tries
different connections, using ports 1935, 443 and 80 for rtmpe
connection and then it tries tunneling rtmpte on port 80 using
CONNECT and then last it tries port 80 using HTTP.
Recently a user tried to connect to my application from a
business network and the connection had to fall back to rtmpte on
port 80 using HTTP. Every so often, the connection was interrupted
and I saw this error message:
Dropping application (MyApp/1234) message. Clients not
allowed to broadcast message
The client is using Flash Player 9.0.115 on Windows XP.
Does anyone have an explanation for this behaviour?

IPod nano "forgets" song screen when it wakes. Anyone know how to fix that?

II've had my 7th gen nano for almost a year and suddenly when I'm playing a song, and it goes to sleep, it wakes to the home screen instead of then of the
song screen. This is really annoying when I'm trying to quickly navigate. There are also some slip ups with is goes to sleep while recording a voice memo. Everything works fine when nano is plugged in and I hit power since it can't sleep while plugged in, which isn't helpful. Anybody experience this or know how to fix it? I've reset settings and shut it down already! nothing. Thank you!

you may need to do a Restore using iTunes
Restoring iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.
