Installation of adobe flashplayer

Hi Folks,
I am new to the forum and need your kind assistance.  I am not very technical minded so please take that into account when responding.
I have downloaded Adobe Flashplayer and it appears on the screen as installation successful, however, when I go into Youtube, it shows that I need to download, why.

After update of Nightly to ver 36. appears problem with flash animation/games
Downloaded (from adobe.com) and installed adobe flash player ver.15.0.0.189 appears in list of plug-ins as "Shockwave player 15.0.0.189" - and non flash animation(games) works.
Already uninstall all AD-blocking software, repeatedly restart comp after installation adobeflash - nothing helps

You got the terms and version wrong in first reply.
The first link is to Shockwave player (not flash) and version is 12.1.3.153
and second is indeed Flash player but at version 15.0.0.189.
The Shockwave player is not used much (and there is not even a plugin for Linux) so don't bother with it.

  • Installation of Adobe flashplayer on Tiger OS 10.4

Adobe says not supported version required for Mac Tiger OS 10.4.?

This is a forum for iPad in the Enterprise, you might want to repost this in The Tiger OS forum. However, my guess would be that since Tiger is 7 years old and and has not been updated in 3 years, new versions of Adobe Flash (or pretty much any software) would require a newer OS (since Tiger, Apple has gone through Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, and is now beta-testing Mountain Lion).

  • Adobe flashplayer installation failed

I own a mac laptop with 0s lion operating system.   I originally downloaded Adobe Flashplayer in 2011 and have updated periodically.   When I joined facebook I decided to play several apps, however my adobe is blocked and I  can't figure out what is wrong.   I have tried updating the software.  It goes to step two and never gives me a button to go on to the next step.   I have followed all the steps to download the newest version but I always get stopped at step 2 of 3.   I went into my download files where Adobe requested I allow them to make some changes.  I did this however, it didn't seem to make any difference.   I am wondering if I should delete all Adobe files and start over.

    Try a clean install: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1267823

  • Help me empty trash, adobe flashplayer installer .dmg in use

i attempted to update my adobe flashplayer because i was prompted, but then became skeptical, and moved it to the trash. now i can't even empty it out of the trash. i get a message that tells me "The operation can’t be completed because the item “AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_15au_ltrosxd_aaa_aih.dmg” is in use." ... i know i was just in the very first stages and i did not complete the download or update. i want that file out of my computer. how do i do this? please and thank you

What is supposed to happen when I hold down the option key and click on Empty Trash in the finder?  It seems that Empty Trash is frozen now.  Here's a screen shot.
I had to force quit finder because it was still frozen after 10 minutes.  I decided to do without the blight on humanity that is Adobe Flash Player and I'm trying to rid my hard drive.  If this isn't going to do any harm (although it's impossible to locate it) I'll just leave it.
    Thank you.

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save link as".
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save the file to your Downloads folder.
Open your Control Panel and click Uninstall A Program under Programs and Features.
Uninstall the Flash Player plugin from the list.
Close the Control Panel, reboot and run the installer from your Downloads folder.

  • Adobe flashplayer will not download

I am currently trying to get on to my personal banking website, but when I try to get to the home page it tells me that I need to download the current version of Adobe Flashplayer. I have gone through all of the steps that they walk you through for enabling and disabling certain things, as well as going straight to the Adobe website to try to download it from there. I am running on Windows 8.1 and I have seen a few times that I do not need Adobe Flashplayer with this. I still cannot get to my banking website and need to pay my corporation bills. please help!

Hi, Try a clean installation of the Flash Plug-in as follows. First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder. Flash Player Uninstaller. When the download has completed, close all browser windows, open your Download folder and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the notebook. Next, ( unless you already have it ), download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading. Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer. Launch Firefox and see if your banking site works Ok in this browser - if it does, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When done, restart Internet Explorer. Regards,
     DP-K

  • Adobe Flashplayer via Windows 8.

    Hello,
I need to install Adobe Flashplayer on Windows 8, but I cannot find the options Windows 8.
The higest options is Windows 7 64 bits en Windows 7 32 bits.
Hope someone has a solution for this.

For what web browser?  Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8 has Flash Player preinstalled; you don't need to (and cannot) install Flash Player manually.
For other browsers download the installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header

  • What can i download instead of adobe flashplayer?

Can anybody tell me what i can use instead of Adobe flashplayer,i can't download it & have no idea what else to use, thanks.

What version of OS X are you using?  (If you're not sure of the version, use  > About This Mac, and see what version you have.)
Some additional details or some background on why you can't download Adobe Flash Player would be useful.  Are there any errors reported when you try to  ownload the installer from Adobe?  Do you have anti-virus or anti-malware tools installed?  Do the folks that maintain your systems and your network simply deny access to Adobe Flash Player (usually due to the many security vulnerabilities of Flash Player)?
If you want to view Adobe Flash content, then you will need to download and install Adobe Flash Player either as an add-on (and only downloaded directly from Adobe, as more than a few scalawags will offer fake Flash Player downloads and fake CODECs; those are usually some sort of malware), or the version of Adobe Flash Player that's integrated into the Google Chrome web browser.  (AFAIK, there's no good alternative to these for OS X, as the Flash format was proprietary to Adobe.)
If the content providers offer alternative formats in addition to Adobe Flash content, then you can sometimes use Safari extensions such as the ClickToPlugin to ask the web site to offer H.264 content in place of Adobe Flash, where that format is available from the content provider.

  • Problem installing Adobe Flashplayer

    Hello.
    I am on Macbook 10.6.8
I am unable to watch videos on YouTube as apparently I don't have Adobe flash player installed (I don't know why this has happened now as I have not had a problem viewing videos on youtube for the past few years).
So I have been to the Adobe flashplayer website and downloaded the most recent version and installed it. Once the installation process is complete it quite literally does nothing. The installation manager says the installation is complete and has been succesful, but I cannot find it on the computer and I still cannot watch videos.
I have tried to follow the troubleshooting tips on the adobe flashplayer site - but this has got me perplexed!
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Two bugs, one affecting Apple's Mac platform and another attacking Microsoft's Windows, exploit certain Flash player vulnerabilities to install malware onto users' systems, reports ArsTechnica. While users of other operating systems like Linux have yet to report attacks, Adobe's advisory notes the exploit affects all platforms.
Designated as CVE-2013-0634, the first vulnerability targets the Safari and Firefox Web browsers running on OS X, and is also being used as a trojan to deploy Microsoft Word documents containing malware. For Mac users, the flaw affects Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.502.146 or earlier.
On March 1 Apple again blocked Flash Player for Lion and Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5660
The Adobe Flash patch can be found on Adobe’s website, and users can visit this page to check if their software is the most curent version.
You should uninstall any previous version first, and repair permissions after installing the new version.

I am trying to view videos and i am told to download the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer. However I cannot install the Flashplayer. Using Firefox 26.0, MacOSX 10.9 Mavericks. I know other users are having the same problem, and I have tried all the suggestions to correct the problem, to no avail. Is there an alternative to Adobe Flachplayer?
