Installation of AIR is damaged

I installed Adobe Air on my Windows XP Pro machine and received an "installation successful" message when it finished, however whenever I try to run a program that requires Adobe AIR I receive this message..Adobe AIR - "This installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing or contact the publisher for assistance." I have uninstalled and re-installed twice but continue to receive the same message. Here is my install log file. You have mentioned that you uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Air and the error still shows up.
Can you uninstall the application again and then power off and reboot your computer to check if the message shows without the application installed on your system?
This will help us narrow down to the cause of the issue.

Confusion about installation of Air 2.6

I would like to update to Air 2.6 but I get confused when I read information on the web. I am using MacBook Pro iOS 10.6.5 and flash CS 5 for apps development.
1. Is installation of Air 2.6 a simple step by using the Air 2.6 installer (http://get.adobe.com/tw/air/) ? I read some articles saying they need to copy and replace the files inside Flash directory.
2. Can I still use the old packager after installing Air 2.6?
3. I am now currently making an app using the old packager (over 80% finish). if I get updated to Air2.6, do I need to rebuild my program or I can use the new Air 2.6 to open the old .fla?
4. If I build an app by using old packager and get sale on apps store. After that I change to Air 2.6 for modifying the old apps to make new version. Can the app share the same apps-id, which means that they can be submitted as a update version of the old one?
I have read some articles on the web but I get confused with the above questions. I am an amature app developer who just know some programming.

There is no official way, that I know of, to overlay AIR 2.6 on to Flash CS5. However, there have been threads created that describe the manual process (see this post.) You can also upgrade to Flash CS 5.5 which does include AIR 2.6. Finally, its also possible to compile and build AIR apps using the available command line tools supplied with the SDK.

I don't believe this is possible. Because of API and UI changes I believe you need a new packager. This is included in Flash CS 5.5

If I understand the question correctly, you should just be able to use AIR 2.6. I'll confirm and let you know if that is incorrect.

Installation of AIR applications and uninstallation of AIR fails

I can't install AIR apps and uninstall AIR itself. Whenever I try to do it, it shows me this error:

This is in Polish, but I can translate it:
This application needs Adobe AIR framework version, which can't be found.
Download newest framework version here

The same error appears when I try to install Adobe AIR applications (one which come in .air package) and uninstall whole Adobe AIR with Add/Uninstall Programs in Control Panel.
I've reinstalled AIR with zapper tool and tried Microsoft FixIt.

I'm having the same issue. Installation of AIR says that it completes successfully, but the install log says it failed. Attempts to launch any Air apps just prompts me to install Air. I've run the Air Zapper vb script, and used the new Microsoft Fix Me application, and neither have solved the issue. Weird thing is that I successfully ran Air apps for a long time before this issue started. I'm using XP SP3. Please advise.

Auto install another app with the installation of AIR app

Hi
I am new to desktop application development. I am stuck on an issue.
My air application uses another application installed on user machine to capture the screen shots. I want to bundle this third party application (screen capture software) installer with my AIR application so that When user will install air app this screen capture application will automatically install on user machine.
My whole motive is to automatically install screen capture software on user machine with installation of AIR app without user notice. I dont know how can I accomplish it.

Installation file .air template customized

I generated a instalation file .air using the .xml that describe the program preferences but i need to customize the installation window. There is three things that i need to do but i don't know how:
- Make the installation file .air to install in "silent", inittializing and make the installation automatic, don't waiting to click next... next...
- The ckeck "Add shortcut icon to my desktop" and "Start application after installtion" come unchecked
- The field "installation location" come desabled
Somebody know if it's possible to make?

Just to make the thread answered, searching a little more i found that with the airInstaller.exe can be executed passing parameters to the "myapp.air" and install in silent. With this installation i solve my three problems.
This is a example what i done:
airInstaller.exe -silent -eulaAccepted myapp.air

Adobe Air. Damaged installation.

On start up I get a pop up " The installation of this application is damaged. Try reinstalling etc." Have tried reinstalling Adobe Air and get the same reply. I have now trawled through my registery files, deleting all Adobe Air files in order to get a clean installation and have reistalled AA but still get a "Damaged Installation" Can anyone suggest a solution?

Hi,
It's hard to determine exactly what is causing that error without knowing what app is causing it. Since AIR is just a runtime, it by itself isn't the cause of the problem. I think I'd try a couple of things.
First, I'd initiate an uninstall of AIR via the uninstall programs control panel. The first thing you'll be presented with is a list of AIR applications that are installed. Here's what mine displays, note the 3 AIR applications I have installed on this system. Click cancel once you've written down the list of applications.
Next, launch msconfig and click the "startup" tab. Examine the list displayed against the list you wrote down earlier to determine if you have an AIR application launching at startup. If so, uncheck the app in msconfig and click apply. Reboot and see if the error still occurs. After resolving the error, I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the offending application.

Adobe Help Menu stopped working - Adobe Air installation of app is damaged

Hi,
I've had the CS5 Master Collection installed for a few days and suddenly when trying to use the "Help" Menu in InDesign, it prompted an "Adobe Air" update, and somehow in that process, all my Adobe Help Menus and "Support Center" menus won't work. Now I get an error message that says: Adobe Air: This installation of this application is damaged. Try reinstalling or contacting the publisher for assistance.
Not sure how to fix this. I uninstalled Adobe Air and then reinstalled, but it did nothing. I suspect it's the help/support application that is damaged. How can I fix this? The help menu is very...helpful.

it keeps telling me to update my adobe air file. then it says it is damaged, and to contact author for new one. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling a new one. it keeps saying the same thing

I had the same problem. The advice I got from Adobe support (after a three day wait) fixed it.
1. Windows: Uninstall the previous version of Adobe Help by using the Add or Remove Programs utility
Macintosh: Remove and trash the application from the Applications>Adobe folder
2. Windows: Delete the following directory: %appdata%/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1 (copy and paste the phrase above into the Windows Explorer file manager)
Macintosh: Go Home>Library>Preferences and delete chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1 (As it happened I couldn't find this file on my mac, but stage #1 had fixed the problem anyway).
3. IMPORTANT: Empty the Trash or Recycling Bin to ensure proper removal of all files.
4. Manually update the application by downloading the Air file from: http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/
Additional information:
This installation error has been observed under two conditions:
1. If a user has an older prerelease or beta version of a Creative Suite 5 application previously installed
2. If a user simultaneously updates the AIR runtime at the same time as updating the Adobe Help application. The Adobe Help application is built and managed using the Adobe AIR framework. Because Adobe AIR has its own installation and uninstallation procedures, Adobe Help application updates are independent of the CS5 installer itself. There is no need to uninstall the entire Creative Suite or any associated product to resolve this issue.

Adobe Air package damaged -problem

Hi!
I packaged my Adobe Air HTML/JavaScript -application with Dreamweaver CS 5.5 AIr Extension. Packaging with homemade signature went without any problems, but installing the application doesn't work. I get the error #1000 during installation. I suspect that problem relates to same bug that has been discussed in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/778613#3405543 (internal bug number 1674848). I thought that the bug has been resolved, but the installation works if I remove large (420MB) sqllite-db-file from package. The package's compressed size is ~ 95MB.
My developing enviroment:
Windows 7 x64 (4GB RAM)
Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Latest Adobe Air Extension for Dreamweaver
Latest Adobe Air runtime / SDK (2.7; I have also tried building from command line with same results)
Is the bug still there or should I try something else?

The only idea that comes to mind is to keep the file on the dvd, then have your app install (copy) it on first launch.

That said, why go through all the trouble? There are a number of applications out there than install and configure Apache, PHP, and MySQL for you.

Problem installation Macbook air (2011) with Mac OS 10.6

I'v got an macbook air, 13 inch with mac os x 10.6.6. And at this moment I've got some troubles with OS X.
To resolve the problems I want or an clean and fresh install with OS X 10.6 or to set a backup back from my time machine. I lost my USB installation stick, I ordered a new one with apple but it can take a couple of weeks.
So I first tried a remote install (using the cd player of my windows machine) with a mac os x installation cd 10.6. I can see and start the installation at the beginning but after a while a get a grey screen and I am forced to hold the shut down button.
I was told it can be because you can only reinstall with mac os x 10.6.4 or higher.
So I lent the mac os x 10.6.4 install cd (from a macbook pro) and tried again. Same story, after I selected the start up disk after a while I get a grey screen and forced to shut down again.
Can anyone tell me what goes wrong? How can I get a fresh installation on my macbook air?

Can you tell me if the latest version of the macbook air has OS X 10.6.6 installed? Or a earlier version and that I updated, I don't know anymore, with the software updater to 10.6.6?
Is het posible to get a installation of mac os x 10.6.6? I don't mind to pay again for this. I already ordered a new usb stick, but it can take to a couple of weeks.
I really want my problems fixed and want to pay when there is a possibility to get a new installation CD or USB quick!

Avoid re-installation of air application

i have developed an air application in flex.The installation of application should occur only once. if the user clicks on air package again after installation it should not occur. But application updation feature should be there. Is there any way to achieve it??
