Installation of CS4 under windows 8.1

I bought a new windows PC with windows 8.1.
Now I want to install CS 4 design premium from CD.
But during the installation process (CD 1) the installer tells me, that it is not possible to install the software.
What to do?

  • Installer setup hangs under Windows 8.1

I've got a Officejet 4500 which could be installed without problems under XP, Win 7 and Win 8.0. Now I bought a brandnew Windows 8 notebook (Acer Aspire) and updated to 8.1. Then I started the appropriate setup executable OJ_AIO_4500_G510g-m_Full_Win_WW_140_408.exe. At first try the program window opened and hung with the initial step (system checking). At later tries the file has been extracted but no window opened. In Task Manager I found the process "HP installer setup" using 30% CPU, but I was forced to kill this process finally.
The printer itself is now installed (I'm able to see the printer and to use it) but the Solution Center and the Scan/Fax capabilities are not available. I even used with the installation assistent. I stopped the firewall, no success. The idea to stop all Window services found in this forum seemed somewhat heavy to me. So what might be the reason that the Window doesn't open and the programs hangs?

Hi all, I am sorry to hear that you are all having problems installing the Version 13 and 14 HP software for your printers.
We (HP) are very interested in helping fixing this problem and getting the full install of the printer software.
Can you all help us out by answering a few questions about how you got to your version of Windows 8.1 and how the printer is installed.
What version of Windows 8.1 are you using?
How did you arrive at theis version of Windows 8.1 (Upgrade [CD or Windows Store] or new install or Clean Install)?
What Printer were you trying to install?
What version of the HP Software were you trying to install and how did you get it? (Web download or CD)?
How is the PC connected to your Printer (Network or USB)?
Also I would like anyone who is willing to Submit Installation Logs to us to Private Message me and I will contact you about how to collect them and where to send them after collection.
    Thanks

  • How to install Flash CS4 under Windows XP?

When I start installing anything from CS4 package (trial
    version downloaded
from web), installation hangs on stage where I could most
    likely select some
options. All installers from this package hangs exactly at
    the same place.
Does anybody know what is going on?

Unzipping gives you three disks worth, inside disk1 there should be a file 'setup.exe'.
If not you could try using a download manager like 'getright' to make sure you've "really" got what was posted (windows isn't so hot at getting it right) - getright is so good I paid for the shareware :-)
    Hope that helps

  • Premiere CS4 under Windows 7

    Hi there,
I'm currently running Premiere Pro CS4 on my Windows XP System (German versions in Germany), but now consider to upgrade to Windows 7. My research in the Internet doesn't give me a conclusive answer to my questions: Is Pemiere Pro CS4 compatible with Windows 7? Does it run in 32 and/or 64 bit? One of the documents I found said that Windows 7 Ultimate is required. Is that true? Doesn't Home Premium or Professional do the Job?
    Thanks for advice and help
    Dietmar

    Dietmar,
Windows usually comes with the drivers necessary to properly run.  When you load Win7, see if the defaualt drivers will work properly.
Now, the issues may have is that your Win7 64 bit has to have 64 bit drivers.  And since your card is old, there probably isn't any for it.
My experience with ATI is that the newest drivers will also work for the older cards.  So if the default Win7 drivers don't work, then download the latest ATI Radeon drivers 64 bit and see if that works.

  • Installing HP 5500 Designjet under Windows 7

In Sept. 2004 I purchased a HP 5500 Designjet printer, Model Q1253V, for proprietary software development during my retirement. Well, that stopped abruptly shortly after, due to a health issue, and now I have this printer in our living room and wish to sell it.
First, I suspect I need to have it running so prospective buyers can see that it works and what it can do.
I've downloaded, several days ago, the latest driver from HP.  I'm trying to install it to my Win 7 desktop which, being modern, has no parallel port (one of the printer's ports is parallel). So for the install, I disconnected the router network cable from the machine and replaced that cable with the network cable to the printer.
I next turned the printer on and allowed it to boot. I received the Ready display but, not surprising, there is a blinking message at the bottom -- Printheads Replace.
I found the Printheads menu, drilled into each and learned the following:
Lt Cyan, 95%, 04 (probably the age of the printhead)
         Lt Magen 92%, 04
         Yellow, 90%, 04
         Cyan, 96%, 04
         Magen, 92%, 03
         Black, 96%, 04
Leaving the printer connected I next turned to the driver installation.  For reference, that file has following properties:      HPDesignjet5500Series.exe, 58,845,048 bytes.
I cancelled that driver installation because I can't get beyond the following setup message:
    "HP Designjet 5500 Series Setup"
"Printer not found. Verify that the printer is properly connected and turned on."
I have a few questions before I proceed.
I'm not very good at this network stuff. My notes from the original installation in 2004, under Windows 2000, shows an IP address of IP=192.168.1.101
Should I be specifying something like IP address in lieu of letting the driver hunt for the printer?
My internet network connection is like this:  A cable from the satellite dish is connected to its modem.  A router distributes those signals to the desktop computer and 3 other potential recipients.
Instead of disconnecting my router from the desktop, can I simply put the printer's network cable into one of the router's 3 empty inputs?  That way, I can retain the desktop's internet connection during this process.
Some time ago I attempted printing some test routine from the printer and it did fairly well for 6 of the 8 colors.  Is it possible that I can restore the "bad" printheads with, say, a wet (water) dishrag or a cloth with some type of solvent -- distilled alcohol, etc.?
    Any advice will be appreciated.

  • Installation problem under windows XP

My PC runs under Windows XP. I want to install LabVIEW. The installer begins to copy files and displays the message "L'application n'a pa réussi à s'initialiser correctement (0xc0000142). Cliquez sur OK pour arrêter l'application). " (I've the french version). If I click on OK, the message appears again, ant the task is very difficult to kill. despite this message, the installation continues to run but never ends. After a moment, there was no more activity. The only thing I had to do was to reboot the PC.
The anti virus was desactivated. I tryed again with the administrator profile but with no more succes.
Could someboty give me some explanation?
    Thanks.

Try copying the CD to your hard drive and installing from there. I have never received this exact error but have seen other installations repaired by this procedure. It's worth a try.

  • All-in-one driver installation fails under Windows 7

I am trying to install the all-in-one printer driver for Windows 7, 64-bit, Service Pack 1.  I have downloaded the installer from HP (AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe), downloaded it using HP Print and Scan Doctor 4.3 and using the HP Printer Install Wizard (hppiw.exe).  All methods fail.  My computer is a new Dell Inspiron (Intel i5-4440 @ 3.1GHz, 8GB RAM, 64-bit OS).  The printer I am installing for is a HP 6310, which is old but which has worked well for years under Windows XP.  I don't think the printer is an issue since the installer never reaches the point of scanning for hardware.
    Symptoms:
Installing using the downloaded installer, the initial splash screen displays.  Selecting "Install" displays a second screen with several progress indicators beginning with "Checking system...".  After checking for a few seconds, an error box pops up complaining that it can't find a file named "hpzpnp.ice_suffix..exe".
There are two files in the Setup directory named "hpzpnp01.exe" and "hpzpnp04.exe".  The Autorun file contains many references to an %ICE_SUFFIX% environment variable.
I guessed that the installer executables did not have enough privelege to set environment variables, so I went through the installer directories and set all the executables to run with administrator privelege.
After that, running "Setup.exe" from the top of the install tree, the initial splash appears, followed by the second "checking system..." progress display.  Then a new window with advice about keeping firewalls turned on, etc. pops up.  Continuing from that point pops up a new error box saying:
"The specified path is too long C:\Program Files (sLar dig mer med hjalp av en demo pa skarmenHitta enkelt dina foton med onskad metod-Datum, Markning, Mappar, Sok, Favoriter)\HP\."
I have done this multiple times, and the parenthesized phrase (Swedish?) is sometimes different, but always wrong.  It looks to me as though the installer is trying to decide whether to install 32- or 64-bit drivers, but can't decide which.  It fails to initialize a string variable and concatenates garbage onto the "C:\Program Files" path string.
I have also seen an error box with the following error near this point:
    "C:\Users\Sid\AppData\Local\7zS4689\Setup\hpzrein01.exe" "-wStub" "3...
    "The parameter is incorrect."
Clicking OK on the error box aborts the installation.
Installing using the HP Printer Installation Wizard produces the same error message as the initial attempt with the downloaded installer about missing files with names containing "ice_suffix".
Installing using the HP Print and Scan Doctor progresses as far as the "path is too long" message.
I've done this now many times, trying different things, without success.  After each attempt, I run the Uninstall_L4 utility in utils\ccc under the installer tree, then run the OS Disk Cleanup utility.  Following an earlier post, I installed the latest version of Flash Player, with no change in symptoms.
Any fresh ideas would be much appreciated.

    Hi ehildum,
Thank you for the time and effort you put into your post. I can see you have done plenty of troubleshooting on your own, but I do have an idea.
If the USB cable is plugged in this could be causing issue. Assuming it is connected, let's unplug and take a look at the Device manager. The hpzpnp.ice_suffix indicates a plug and play 'pnp'.
Follow these steps and let me know what happens.
    Click on Start
    Right click on Computer
    Select Manage
On the left panel, click on Device Manager
Click on View at the top and select Show hidden devices
Look in the list for Other devices
If you see the printer here, right click and select uninstall
Look in the list and click on the arrow next to Printers
If you see the printer here, right click and select uninstall
Delete all files in the %temp% folder
    Restart the computer
Open the installer from your download  (AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe)
Do Not plug the USB cable in until the software says so.
Please let me know the outcome of these efforts. If your USB cable was not connected please complete the above steps anyway to see if there is something stuck in the Device manager that could be causing the conflict.
I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Photoshop CS4 Photomerge doesn't work under windows 8.1

    Hello!
I have Photoshop CS4. Whereas it worked very well under Windows XP SP 3, I have a problem using it under Windows 8.1.
Photomerge doesn't work. As soon as I click on it, It shuts down Photoshop.
I have a trial version of Photoshop CS 5 and photomerge works well in this version.
I tried to solve the problem through Windows but it didn't work.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    Hi @inetdude
Since there is no full feature software and driver for 8 or 8.1, I am not sure what else to suggest other than for you to reach out to Microsoft. The driver you are using is an in-OS driver, perhaps they can help you.

  • Why doesn't my TestStand deployment installation show up under my Windows start menu of my target machine?

Why doesn't my TestStand deployment installation show up under my Windows start menu of my target machine?
I have successfully installed working deployments to target machines. However, I was expecting to see the installation listed as "My TestStand System A" in my start menu, but it is not. Am I misunderstanding something here?
Also, if I peform a different second deployment to the target station like "My TestStand System B", all of the LabVIEW files from my previous installation for "My TestStand System A" disappear from the target directory (c:\Program Files\My TestStand System A).
I am using TestStand 4.2.1 Professional on the development station with Windows XP and LabVIEW 2009.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks Paul,
That solved my second problem and inspired me to search deeper for the answer to my first problem. The answer is in the "Distributed Files" tab, "installer properties", "Create a Program Item" checkbox:
Wouldn't it be nice if this was automatically checked by default for the main sequence files? Wouldn't it also be nice if "Upgrade Code" was automatically regenerated by default whenever we saved the *.tsd file under a different name?
    Thanks again,

  • Oracle 11 under Windows 2008 installation problems

I cannot make Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 work under Windows 2008. The server's host name is SARABI. Anything of the following takes place on SARABI, no remote access is involved.
The procedure has been as follows...
    - Windows 2008 was installed
    - Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 was installed
    - listener.ora, sqlnet.ora, tnsnames.ora were modified
    - no other Oracle configuration file was touched
At this point it worked. I could connect with SQL Plus and with SQL Developer.
Next the server was rebooted. Without having changed anything at all, connecting was impossible. The message is "12514, TNS, listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor". The three configuration files are given below.
Currently, all services are running accoording to Windows Control Panel. There are no entries in the eventlog. Executing "TNSPING SARABI" works fine. Executing "LSNRCTL status" shows "The listener does not support any services" (translated from German "Der Listener unterstützt keine Services"), the full output is given below.
