Installation of Database Oracle 9.2.1.0 on Windows VISTA ULTIMATE version

I am trying to install Database Oracle 9.2.1.0 on Windows VISTA ULTIMATE version, but its not installing and start showing error when start configuration of Listner etc etc
Is there any wayout to install Database 9.2.1.0 on windows VISTA ULTIMATE version
I appreciate your prompt response in this regard.

I have installed Oracle Database 10gR2 Enterprise Edition on Vista Business Premium and run it with no issues.
Suggestion is to download the 'for Vista' version (http://download.oracle.com) and read the install manual (http://tahiti.oracle.com) before installing. The read the Platform Guide for Windows to follow-up management techniques.

I am trying to use Flash on Windows Vista Ultimate.
Installing the program tells me a mistake "error in the

Sounds like a corrupt exe. But yes, make sure and run as

I cannot connect to the Internet after installation of Windows Vista Ultimate edition.

I cannot connect to the Internet after installation of Windows Vista Ultimate edition. For some odd reason, it seems my ethernet has not yet been installed to my operating system and I do not know how to do that even with the internet, I have the LAN cable hooked up to my computer but I do not know exactly what to do about it. Is there some sort of driver I need to install, or what? How do I do that without the internet?
This operating system is on a separate partition to my other operating system that is connected to internet already (Windows Vista Premium) that I do not wish to use anymore because of it's corruption. I tell you this because you may know a way of finding the driver files on my previous operating system that I may be able to transfer to the other.

Click on the Certify tab
Click on the second link "View certification by Platform"
If it isn't there then it is not certified.
That is the answer to the question you asked.
My advice is still that you get a decent operating system: Certified or not.

I too have a problem with Oracle 8 and Vista (Business). We have many different Oracle platforms administered by many different agencies. One platform is 10g insisting encrypted ODBC connection and the other is 8.x that cannot handle encrypted requests. In the past we just ran 2 or more versions of Oracle client and associated the version's ODBC to the Oracle platform's version. But with Vista there are no 8.x or 9.x Vista compatible clients thus I can only have the Vista machine to connect to one and not the other. There are problems when trying to use a Windows 2000 or XP client versions in Vista.
Anyone have a work around? When I try to change the SQL.ORA on a Vista 10g client to a 8.x db to use "REQUESTED" instead of "REQUIRED" encryption call I get the [Oracle][ODBC] Ora-03134: Connection to this server version no longer support.

Last week I bought a HP Pavlion Laptop with Windows Vista Operating System. Yesterday I tried to install Oracle 10g Database in it but got some errors during the installation and also it is not successfully installed. Even though there is no problem with the Software.
Please tell me whether Oracle 10g is supported in Windows Vista. If not what is the version of Oracle should I install. I urgently need Oracle Database to be installed in my Laptop, please suggest what can be done.

Incidentally, which version of Vista is it? Oracle tend to only support the professional/business editions of Windows.

Install Personal Edition or Express Edition.
You can still install EE or SE, however, you need toLOL.
Given that Personal Edition IS A SUPERSET OF Enterprise Edition, what is that going to buy the OP?

Oracle on Linux VMware kit using Window Vista

Hello,
I am trying to install Linux VMware kit(RAC) on window vista home edition OS. It failed with compatibility error.
I changed setup.bat and universal installer file property to use "Windows XP SP 2". I am able to install first DVD when it ask for second DVD. It does not move further and keep asking to put second DVD. I have downloaded first and second DVD content. I trying from stage location but it is not working for second one.

Hi,
You don't have to use Oracle Installer to install the environment. I already successfully installed just by unzipping the virtual machine components (*.vmx, *.vmdk, etc.).
You can keep your vmware installation or install it yourself independently of Oracle Installer.
Just make sure to set up networking as explained in the documenation:

Installation procedure for WRT54GC does not detect router on Windows Vista.

Today I bought a used WRT54GC, supposed to be in working condition. I ran the installation procedure on my Vista laptop, following the detailed steps to the letter, and all was going fine, until the detection routine. All the router's lights were blinking, and others solid, as per the instructions, but a few seconds later I got a message stating that ".. Setup was not able to find a Compact Linksys Wireless router on the network....etc".
I immediately went to reset the unit, inserting a pin and waiting until the power light blinked several times (about 30 seconds). This did not help. I also reset the DSL modem, just in case, to no avail.
I have contacted the vendor, and he users that the unit was fine.
The Linksys support page has several user's forums references to how to 'connect' using Windows Vista, but all assume the unit has already been installed and working, which I found frustrating, since I cannot install it!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The trick is not to use the installation disk, but connect the PC/laptop directly to the router (wired), let it assign the dynamic IP address (default action), and then use the router's interface to set it up. Its address is 192.168.1.1 (it may be different for other models or brands).
I was able to set it up this way and now I'm enjoying it. Thanks to all who offered their advice.

Can't install database vault 10.2.0.3 on windows vista (32)

I installed the oracle database version 10.2.0.3 on vista, and then tried to install the database vault, but, during the installation process, it checks the requirements and such, but I get an error, the error is the fallowing (well it may not be the same in the other versions, I installed in portuguese, but is something like this):
Checking OS requirements....
Expected result: one of 4.0,4.1,5.0,5.1,5.2
Real result: 6.0
The overall result of this verification is: Not approved <<<<
Problem: The Oracle Database 10g is not certified on current OS
Recommendation: Be sure to install the software in the right plataform.

I installed Oracle 10g on my machine it works fine, when I open the Forms builder I get an error number eror 12203 saying tns unable to connect to destination .

Step 1 - upgrade to a supported Operating System.
Oracle Database is not guaranteed to work on anmy XP or Vista Home.
Forms 6i is almost guaranteed NOT to work on any Vista.
