Installation of DS 4.2 SP2 crashed half way. Unable to start setup again.

Hi all,
While installing the DS 4.2 SP2, it crashed half way during the installation (right before the web deployment).
Meaning now I can start the designer and logon to the cms but the web is not deployed yet so I am not able to go into the admin console.
So I have tried to go to Program and Features there to try for a repair but it fail. It shows error: " The installer detected there is a problem in the install manifest. You cannot proceed with the current installation. The problem may be caused by a previous installation operation that did not complete. Please run the installer again from the original media to resolve this problem."
OK fine, so I run the setup from the original media but it just wouldn't show up. I see in the task manager both "setup.exe" and "setupengine.exe" is there but nothing comes up.
Anyone know the solution please advise?
Thanks you.

Im running into an issue where the report export fails:

There is no response for the web service <Export_DQReport>. Ensure that the network, web server, and service are running
14040
10372
RUN-248005

properly. Also ensure that the service client call time out is set properly.
Since the exports happen AFTER the job is complete, you cannot catch the error and it returns a good return code to the scheduler.

BF tried to update to ios6 on iphone 4 but crashed half way through saying it needed to plugged into iTunes and then restored so after it was 'restoring' he had an error message come up say to couldn't be restored....what should be do next as the phone is in a complete non working condition

Spent hours trying everything suggested and finally this morning hit on a solution. iTunes must be run as an administrator. Even though you are logged into your PC as an administrator, using the iTunes shortcut does not make you an administrator in iTunes. I found this out by using the diagnostics in iTunes and reading through the results report.
I am using Windows 7, so I clicked the start button and right clicked on iTunes and selected "Run as an adimistrator". The first restore attempt got the 4013 error. I then did the DFU thing, hold power and home buttons for 10 seconds, release power and continue holding home for 10 more seconds.
iTunes gave me the restore message and I clicked it. I clicked the restore iPhone button and it started. The drivers loaded a couple of times. I got the apple logo with the progress bar and this time instead of disappearing, it started to fill in.
End result, a successful restore to factory settings and a happy 14 year old.
    Hope this helps others.

  • HELP - iPhone starts back up but crashes half way through

I cant back up my iphone. After changing to a windows 7 PC, my iphone will not back up. It attempts it but seems to crash half way through, I have tried doing it without pics, still no joy. I cant update to the latest iphone software as it always backs up first, which it wont do. Have reinstalled itunes, tried a different USB port, left it over nigh, no joy. Seems to be a common problem, but hard to find a solution. Any solutions out there?

Try create a fresh user account on your computer and do the back-up by following this link (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137) that will help isolate the problem if it's actually corrupted files in your computer causing this crash!!

  • IPhone 3G - unable to update iPhone software due to syncing + back-up process always crashed half way.

    - I'm having problem to update my current iphone software (3.1.3 version) to the latest version due to my itunes + iphone unable to complete the syncing + back-up process.
    - It always crashed + syncing half way and sadly it always happened after waiting for couples of hours (sometimes more than 6 hours).
    - I have tried it soooooo many times but again it still disappoint me.

What "latest version" are you attempting to upgrade to? The iPhone 3G can use up to iOS 4.2.1; any later version will not install. And you might want to stick with 3.1.3 as many people report unsatisfactory performance of iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G.
If you're sure you want to upgrade, and you're sure you are attempting to install iOS 4.2.1 and not some later version, then try a factory restore operation on your phone first, then try again to update the iOS:

If that doesn't work, you might want to call your local Apple Store to make an appointment at the Genius Bar. They'll probably be happy to help you perform the software update right in the store. If you use a laptop to sync your iPhone, bring that (and the USB charge/sync cable) with you.

  • Songs "skip" half-way through, or start half-way through

I have had my 3GS since the end of October. I just recently noticed that some songs will skip half-way through to the beginning of the next song, or when a song is over the next song will start half-way through or three-quarters of the way through. I then just tap on rewind and it will play the entire song from the beginning. I should mention that it's not always the same songs, and, I generally listen to the iPod in my car through an audio cable.
Is this a common issue? I've seen similar posts but not exactly like this (or I've simply missed them). Is there a fix?
I've just noticed that Shake to Shuffle is "on", so I'll try turning that off and see if that helps at all.

I have something similar and think I might know what is causing it but not how to fix it. I recently created a playlist in iTunes then copied to the iPod. While creating the playlist I listened to some of the songs for the first minute or so. Now I find that while playing the playlist on the iPod those songs that I previewed start from where I stopped listening to them in iTunes. If I go back into iTunes and play those songs again they do the same thing, start from where I left off the previous time. What I'm trying to figure out now is how to prevent this from happening but always have songs play from the start. I suspect that when copying the playlist to the iPod, it has also copied across information about where iTunes is expecting the song to start from when it's played again.
If it's of any relevance (not sure yet) I recently started using Genius in iTunes although these songs were not picked through Genius

  • Safari keeps crashing half way through loading a website, ebay is the worst affected.

When I try to open certain websites they only half load and crash. Ebay and facebook are the worst. How do I prevent this from happening? Thanks!

Has the unit EVER been jailbroke?
If "No," first try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Tried to load Yosemite and iMac crashed half way through. Stuck with a half-completed execution bar. What to do?

I'm trying to download Yosemite on my iMac. It's been stuck at the halfway point for an hour. I don't want to turn it off. But looks like its stuck.
    Any thoughts?

My iMac also took a VERY long time to load Yosemtite, and I'm not sure that it's all there. Every time it boots the bar only fills to about 30% then disappar and after a long 3 minutes or so, the desk top statrt to appear.  I think all of Apple's commercials/adds have installed. However the applications appear to be lacking.  Is the bar not supposed to load completely, and thereby indicate a full installation?  I'm confused - and frustrated.

  • HT1222 having problems updating my i pad , it crashed half way though updateing now my i pad is in recoverey mode and carnt get it out of it help please

i have been trying to update my i pad, while i was updating it crashed and now my i pad is in the recovery mode and i am unable to do anything at all please help

That is the standard message when you click restore.
You can try a reset but I am not confident it will do anything besides go roight back into Recovery Mode.
Unplug your phone from the cable then hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears.
Typicaly it goes into Recovery Mode when it can no longer boot indicating there is a problem with the operating system.

  • Brand New MacBook Crash... won't start up again

I just bought a new MacBook last week, and it has already crashed.
While I was using it a message popped up that said, "You must restart the machine immediately, hold down power button to do so." After I did this, I tried to turn it on again but the screen was blank. The "on" light was on, but other than that, nada. It isn't even booting up to the point where you can troubleshoot it. In other words, my computer is a vegetable.
Has anyone else had this problem? Or do I just have bad luck with computers. I switched to Mac because I thought it would be more reliable than my old PC, but at this point I'm considering switching back.

That restart message is a kernel panic; these are often caused by a hardware issue.
If at all possible, bring the machine back and ask for a replacement. Sounds to me like you purchased a machine that managed to pass the quality tests and then broke down once it got into your hands.

  • HT204406 am having issues with songs playing in there entirety.  song starts playing and then half way stops and starts playing the second song of say a minute or so and then no sound until end of second song.   it then starts to play third song and it do

any one having issues with songs playing in there entirety using itunes match?  plays parts of songs and skips and starts playing second song.  part and then keeps playing with no music.  does this on every set of songs.

I'm having this issue on my iPod and now none of my songs on iTunes will play. Not fix yet though. Have you had any luck?

  • HT2499 I inserted a brand new DVD and it quit half way through and gave me the "skipping over damaged area" message.

I got this laptop refurbished from Apple in July. It was originally released in October 2011. I have watched DVD's on it previously, but lately, in the past 3 weeks, it's been pooping up the "skipping over damaged area" message. I put in a brand new DVD and half way through, it did it again, and I can't get past it. Any thoughts on what the problem may be?

You can just open Terminal (in Utilities) and run the rm command (make sure you type it exactly) and then reboot.  With /.AppleSetupDone gone the system will think it is the the second part of an installation, i.e., after it installs and reboots and starts the Setup Assistant.  You will see the Welcome and music all over again and then you can go through the setup prompts again, this time specifying a password.

  • My iPod wants to play music half way through one song and then start the next one, or pick up in the next song were the first song was at.  How do I fix this?

I've had it for the past few days that when I have a album playing it will play a song half way through and start the next one, however it still shows the first song name and the time that is on there.  I don't know weather it's just a glich in the iPod itself or if there is something wrong with it all together.   I've never had this problem up until a few days ago, and I really don't know what to do about it.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • On start up my mac book pro shows a white screen with a folder with a ? in it then switches to the apple symbol with the loading bar under it but it freezes about half way any ideas

My mac book pro on start up shows a white screen with a folder with a question mark in it then switches to the apple symbol with the loading bar under it but it freezes about half way. Only started to have problems since upgrading to yosemite any ideas.

I do hope you have recent backup, because it look like your hard disk is failing. You can start up in Recovery Mode, and run Disk Utility to see if the disk can be fixed:  OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support

I've done all this. While the iPod Software Update is downloading, about half way through the iPod disables again! I've tried it 3 times now and followed the steps exactly and it keeps happening. What do I do?!

Okay for some reason it worked the 4th time!
