Installation of hyperion 11.1.1.0.0

hi,
i had started installation of 11.1.1.0.0
1) I had a problem in the assemblies folder the vision is shown as 9.5.0
2) i am not able to see Hyperion 11.1.1.0.0 products in the installation process.
plz help me in solving it.

Hyperion 9.5.0 = Oracle Enterprise Performance Management 11.1.1.0.0
11.1.1.0.0 is Oracle naming convention.

I am new to the world of Hyperion..
I am trying to install Hyperion Palnning 11.1.1.1.0 in a distributed environment.. and facing difficulty deciding where each component should go..
Here's a description of the Architecure In which i want to get Hyperion Planning up and running:
One Windows server box -- EPMA should be installed on windows as i have read through the installation guides available ..
Two AIX boxes -- have decided to put the database and Essbase on one and Planning on the other.
I am using Oracle 11g as the daatbase. And Oracle App server for deployment.
According to my understanding .. I need the following compenents to be installed for Planning...
Shared Services
Essbase --client , server , administrative services, provider services(for Smart office )
Planning
EPMA
WorkSpace
Can somebody plaese advice on how i should go about installing the components?
An advice would be appreciated.

Now under Essbase in the config utility I have the following options
Essbase --Essbase Custom Configuration
Essbase Administration Services -- Configure Database, Deploy to Application server
Habnet Server -- Deploy to Application Server
Provider Services - Deploy to Application Server
Smart Search - Deploy to Appplication Server
Studio Configure Database
So among these Shall i select only Essbase for installing the Essbase db..?
Also can you please explain how does shared service work?
Say i deployed Planning to the app server on the same machine and EPMA to the app server on the windows machine
then how do they work together..?
WIll i need to modify some properties file..?

Error installation oracle Hyperion interactive reporting web client

I can't install the web client through Hyperion workspace v11.
My steps are:
Workspace --> Tool --> Install --> Interactive Reporting Web Client
Then error message is shown: unexpected status 400 (no host matches server name XXXXXX.com) returned on XXXXXX:45000/workspace*/dataaccess/../../InsightInstaller/setup.ini access check
Please check if the server is properly configured.
After I pressed OK, another error message is shown:
unable to launch the installer. Please use the information bar (if available) to install activeX control or check if you have Admin right on this computer.
I am using IIS v5.1.
Can any friends help on this issue?
Is there anything to configure in my IIS? or the version is too old ?

The solution to this problem is simple and easy.
Which port are you using to login to workspace for installing the client. I predict its 45000 port.
Try using the 19000 port for logging into the workspace and try installing the IR web client. It works.
Let me know if there are still any issues.

You can give either, usually give the one that is most likely not to change and the one where users are going to access it through.
In many installations it is used with domain name as not all machines on the network can access just by hostname, so it really can depend on your infrastructure.

First try to go the below path and execute setup file
C:\Hyperion\products\Foundation\workspace\AppServer\InstalledApps\workspace_static\zeroadmin\component\Insight
After executing setup file try to install web clientthrough workspace.

Hyperion Installation and Sample Application Problem

I am a new user of Hyperion Planning 9. I am an Oracle DBA by profession with training and experience in Data Warehousing.
After the installation of Hyperion Planning 9.3.1, I do not have dimension library under http://server4:19000/workspace -> navigate
I want to load the Sample Application to practice with Hyperion functionalities.
Implementation: (VMWare Server)
1. Oracle Database - Server1
2. Hyperion Shared Services - Server2
3. Hyperion Essbase - Server3
4. Planning, BI+ - Server4
Any advice/assistance will be appreciated.

Did you give your self admin access in Shared Services (http://localhost:58080/interop/)? When installing the application the admin user only has provision rights and can't access the dimensions.
You can also go to planning directly by going to this link instead of going through workspace:

Hyperion 11.1.2.x Interactive Reporting Distributed Installation

Hi we are trying to perform distributed installation of hyperion interactive reporting v 11.1.2.1 or v 11.1.2.2. But we were unable to split the services. As i came to know that shared services and workspace webapplication can now be only on one server, i wanted to separate IR services on other two servers. Can anyone help me with the steps or any idea about how to split the services. We need it urgent.

Harish, this is very valuable information here that is worth a lot of consulting dollars. :-)
On server 1, just install and configure the Framework and IR
On server 2, just install and configure the IR
On server 3, just install and configure the web component
When I did the above, I ran into the small "defect", which is the APPLICATION ID created on Web does not match the APPLICATION ID on the Framework on server 1 because it's installed separately. Oracle insisted that is not the "best practice", but the solution is to update the APPLICATION ID on server 3 in the repository to match the original APPLICATION ID, and then it works.
I forget the defect number and have to look it up. Or call Oracle Support and they know exactly what to do.

Enterprise Installation Of Oracle Hyperion 11 components

Hello All.....
Really hoping someone can help out with this one.
I am trying to configure a silent distribution installation of Hyperion 11 EPM (Dashboard Studio, Interactive reporting etc) on windows 7 x64 in an enterprise environment using software delivery application (Microsoft SCCM)
Basically we have configured a silent installation answer file and its being triggered (via installtool.cmd) and installed using the system account (via SCCM).
Once the installation has finished a user will log on and try to launch dashboard studio or interactive reporting.
The problem we are having is when a user tries to run dashboard studio they get an error saying "The interactive Reporting Studio Type library is installed incorrectly or could not be found". and then dashboiard just crashes out??
Really having trouble trying to get past this error.
can anybody help out please?

1. Reinstall Interactive Reporting Studio and Dashboard Architect as the user who will be running and using it.
OR
2. Another workaround is:
1. Install EPM portfolio as some Administrative user(say A).
2. Try running the DDS and IR products and verify they are running correctly.
3. Open regedit, export the following keys:

Use application in another Essbase installation

There are binary files (I want to say the .esm and .tct files, but not totally sure) that store directory information. They are tied to the .PAG and .IND files and can't be edited.
Your best bet is either to do a copy between servers via EAS (which will not copy data), use EAS' migration wizard (a bit more info goes across), and then export and import to the target.
Of course if you are on 11x, you could just use LCM to copy the database to the file system, make that folder available to the target, and import through LCM on the target. It's amazingly slick.

Hyperion Enterprise Reporting 6.5.1 is supported.
Could you please verify your version of Hyperion Enterprise Reporting (again)?

How to Configure Hyperion Enterprise Reporting Web?
1. Create LOCAL username and password with Administrator rights. This is your impersonation account.
You may use the local administrator as your impersonation account, but it MUST be local, not a domain admin.
2. Users IWAM..., IUSER... SYSTEM, INTERACTIVE, Administrator and Everyone are automatically created users/groups.
In Local Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment.
Add the add IUSR, IWAM, SYSTEM, INTERACTIVE, Administrator, Impersonation account and Everyone to:
a) Act as part of the Operating System.
b) Log on locally (or Allow log on locally).
c) Log on as a service.
d) Log on as a batch job.
3. In IIS services <server>
Web Sites -> Default Web Site -> Right click on HSpider -> properties
Virtual Directory tab.
Select only Log visits and Index this resource.
Application name: HER.
Execute Permissions: Scripts and Executables .
Application Protection: High.
Directory Security tab.
Deselect all except Basic Authentication .
(Windows 2003) Web Service Extension .
Select All Unknown ISAPI Extensions.
Click the Allow button.
Repeat with all other items starting with HER and Active Server Pages.
4. In Component Services -> Computer ->
a) Right click on My Computer -> Properties.
b) Default security tab (COM security tab).
c) Access Permissions Edit Default button.
d) Add IUSR, IWAM, SYSTEM, INTERACTIVE, Administrator, and Impersonation account.
e) Launch and Activate permissions Edit Default button.
f) Add IUSR, IWAM, SYSTEM, INTERACTIVE, Administrator, and Impersonation account.
5. My Computer -> Com+
a) IIS... HSpider properties -> Identity tab.
b) Browse to impersonation account and add password.
6. My Computer ->DCOM Config (or Start-> Run -> DCOMCNFG).
a) Right click HypPkgrH_Pooler -> Properties -> Identity tab.
b) Browse to impersonation account and add password.
c) Repeat with Spider_Pooler.
7. Internet services must be reset (Start -> Run -> iisreset).
8. In the Hyperion Enterprise Reporting folder of the Start menu, select Web Server administration

Network tab.
Select Allow Hyperion Enterprise Reporting Web Server to access other network devices.
Add the impersonation account and password.
If desired, select the Preload tab and add your application.
System is Enterprise6 as found in the repeng.ini.

b) Select Allow client to access other network devices
c) Add the impersonation user and password

Now tell me step by step on how to configure and how start Web analyzer
I dont know how to start server/services. (Any Web server required?)
Getting started would be more helpful.

Hi,
First of all have you installed Shared Services as you will need that as that foundation of the installation.
You will also need to install other components such as essbase if you intend to use it with web analysis.
If you have done that, then you will first need a repository to hold Reporting and Analysis information.
Afte start up the configuration utility and select the Reporting & analysis elements and go through the steps entering
details such as shared services connection, repository information.
It should install the components as a service.

MS Excel 2010 takes long to open with Hyperion Smartview 11

the MS Excel 2010 takes about 20 sec to open a blank sheet when is with a user without Internet access. It is automatically open with Internet access. This behaviour started after the installation of Hyperion Smartview.

I've never worked with Hyperion Smart view.
But it sounds like the program configured to access the internet and perform an operation, such as check for updates for that program. Since we know this issue may caused by the Hyperion Smart view. If it is an add-in for office, we can try
to disable it to check if excel can open blank worksheet normally, meanwhile, if you want to use this tool, you can enable it. File->options->add-in
