Installation of JDK 1.2 on Pentium 4 machine

I can not seem to install JDK 1.2 on Pentium 4. I have taken care of PATH and CLASSPATH in Autoexec.bat.I have also tried installing it on two different systems. I am able to install a higher version of the same but I need JDK 1.2 only. Can somebody please help me out?

u please download jdk1.2 from the sun site , which is patched version, u go into google.com , and type
jdk1.2 for pentium 4.and u will get the url of the downloadable page .this will be free of bug with patches.

  • Problem in Installing Forms 6i on Pentium 4 Machine

    Dear All,
    I tried to install forms 6i on my Pentium 4 machine but I was not
    successful. Later I come to know that for doing this I need a patch
    to be installed. i searched the whole oracle and intel site but I
    could not get it. If any one else have come with similair problem and
    get the patch then please tell me the site address and path from
    where I can download the patch.
    Thanks

    Are you talking about a Forms patch or the JInitiator patch ? Do a search for JInitiator and P4 and find your way to www.sun.com for the JRE patch you need for P4's. Or get Forms 9i.

    You can look at the intel support site. They have the explanation and the solution for that problem. The problm i's related to a file named sys*.dll. They tel you exactly what file it's the poblem and How you can obtain a new version of that file.

  • Installation problem - JDK 6 on Ubuntu 9.04

    Hello, I'm an old programmer (60+!) but new to Unix/Java/OE. I've bought 'Teach yourself Java 6 in 21 days', which recommends using the Java Development Kit for initial learning. Following the instructions on the Sun site, I downloaded the file 'jdk-6u13-nb-6_5_1-linux-ml.sh' onto my ubuntu 9.04 system and installed it. The install completed, but gave some error messages, viz:

    Corrected typo in Subject

    I just recently installed the new jdk1.6.0_14 via the .bin file provided on the java.sun.com site. Pretty straight forward..
    just placed the .bin file in a comfortable spot and ran /bin/sh on it.
    From there I just needed to add its path enviroment script's PATH declaration.
    To hook it up to firefox, just create the "plugin" folder for .mozilla (i.e. ~/.mozilla/plugin)
    then create a symbolic link to libjavaplugin_oji.so (i.e. ln -s .../jdk1.6.0_14/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so ~/.mozilla/plugin/),
    then rename the link to "javaplugin.so" in the ~/.mozilla/plugin directory. (something I had to do for Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope and Firefox 3, says the Ubuntu forums)
    By the way Ubuntu 9.04 comes with jdk1.6.0_13 if you install it from the repositories via sabre150's methods so you're better off doing it his way ;).

  • Oracle 8i installation problem on Win XP pro, Pentium 4

    I am trying to install oracle 8i on Pentium 4 PC, Win XP professional Operating system, 512MB RAM.
    When I run setup.exe then it is silent, no response.
    I installed java J2SDk1.4.0 standard edition, and Java runtime environment. It is still the same problem.
    Would you please let me know what should I do ??
    Thanks.
    Mohammad

    Well
    1. Copy the entire contents of your Oracle8i cd into hard disk. The folder can be any name but not "oracle"
    2. Do a find files in the local hard disk where oracle files is copied in Step 1. Look for --> jit
    3. Rename the file to something like jit_old
    4. Run the installer. It should work now.
    But better check on web there might be some issues related to java later when u need to install java software into the PC.
    Happy install

  • Installation of JDK 1.2.1 for Windows ME

    hi all,
    JDK version 1.2.1
    installation done !
    path set !
    can compile !
    But cannot run
    error message="exception in thread "main" java.lang.noclassDeffound"
    Pls help !
    Thank !

    1) if you have set the classpath, unset it. (with "set classpath="). If you have a package declaration in the source, remove it and recompile.
    2) run with java ClassName, that is, without the .class-extension from the directory where the class file is.

  • Oracle universal installer asking JDK/JRE location

    hi,
    i am trying to open the Oracle universal installer in Linux but it is asking to specify the JDK/JRE location.
    it gives me a prompt to enter the above,
    the prompt is,
    Please specify JDK/JRE Location (e.g. /home/jre), <location>/bin/java should exist:
    please help.
    thanks,

    What do you expect to get from the installation of Oracle Fusion? Oracle Fusion Application is a collection of software, and each software has its own instructions to download/install.
    http://www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/fusion/index.html
    http://becomeappsdba.blogspot.com/2007/02/is-oracle-fusion-really-confusion.html
    do i need to install fusion middleware seprately first before installing fusion apps?
    i thought fusion apps would include everything including middleware, DB etc.Yes -- If you want to install Oracle Fusion, you have to install the Database first then Oracle Fusion Middleware.
    Thanks,

  • Default Installation Of JDK (SDK)?

    Can anyone give me a list of default installtion dir of JDK or SDK for windows, linux, and other platforms? I need to find tools.jar in JDK, but using java.home doesn't always work because the user could be using the JRE, in which case java.home will point to the JRE dir, not JDK.
    Any help appreciated,
    CoolAsIce

    I don't think my original query was understood. I want your default installation of the JDK. Perhaps giving you my code will make you understand my intentions better:
    import java.lang.reflect.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    public class Compile
         private static Class mainClass = null;
         private static Method compileMethod = null;
         static
              try
                   File toolsJar = null;
                   File[] possibleLocations = new File[]
                        new File(new File(System.getProperty("java.home")).getParent(), "lib/tools.jar"),
                        new File("C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.5.0_02/lib/tools.jar"),
                        new File("C:/j2sdk1.4.2_08/lib/tools.jar")
                   for(int i=0; i<possibleLocations.length; i++)
                        if(possibleLocations.exists())
                             toolsJar = possibleLocations[i];
                             break;
                   if(toolsJar != null)
                        mainClass = new URLClassLoader(new URL[]{toolsJar.toURL()}).loadClass("com.sun.tools.javac.Main");
                        compileMethod = mainClass.getMethod("compile", new Class[]{String[].class, PrintWriter.class});
              catch(Throwable t)
                   //t.printStackTrace();
         public static void main(String[] args)throws Throwable
              System.out.println(compile(new File(args.length>0 ? args[0] : "Test.java")));
         public static String compile(File file)
              if(mainClass == null)
                   throw new RuntimeException("tools.jar cannot be found!");
              try
                   //invoke compile() method of Main.
                   StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
                   PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(sw, true);
                   Object[] arguments = new Object[]{new String[]{"-g:none", file.getAbsolutePath()}, pw};
                   compileMethod.invoke(mainClass.newInstance(), arguments);
                   pw.close();
                   sw.close();
                   return sw.toString();
              catch(Throwable t)
                   return null;
    What I need is more files for possibleLocations. Using java.home may not work because if the application is running under JRE, java.home will return the location of the JRE installation dir and tools.jar is not included in the JRE.
    Best regards,
    CoolAsIce

  • Installation problem JDK 1.5 on Windows 2000 server

    I am trying to install the new J2SE Development Kit 5.0 for Windows 32 bit on a windows server 2000 computer with sp4. When I attempt to execute the file
    I get the following result
    # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
    # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x036eb514, pid=1872, tid=1592
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.4.2_10-b03 mixed mode)
    # Problematic frame:
    # C [awt.dll+0xb514]
    I see that the log file refers to Hot spot client 1.4.2 - I'll post the rest of log if necessary but thought I would try asking in case the solution is clear without the full log.
    I understand JDK 5.0 can be installed on windows 2000 server with service pack 3 or 4. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    I've checked all these possibilities:
    (1) DLL's associated with JAVA - none other than 1.5
    (2) Path makes no reference to 1.4 anywhere
    (3) No othe java programs are listed in add/remove programs
    (4) no oracle product is installed
    (5) windows 2000 registry does not contain anything obviously associated with 1.4.2
    IS any Java product included automatically with Windows 2000 Service pack 4?
    Here is the full log file text:

  • SAP netweaver developer studio installation error: JDK is not the same as J

    Now i plan to create a java proxy.
    but when i install NWDS 7.1, the error show like this:
    JVM Version Check failed.
    Your JVM is not supported.
    Current JVM:
    Sun Microsystems Inc. JDK 1.6.0_10-rc2
    java.home = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_10\jre
    Supported JVMs:
    SAP AG JDK: java.version 1.5.0_06 or later
    Sun Microsystems Inc. JDK: java.version 1.5.0_06 or later
    Note, JDK is not the same as JRE. If JDK is required, JRE is not sufficient.
    how to resolve problem?
    thank you

    1.7 does not work

  • Silent installs of JDK

    I am trying to silently install JDK 1.5 but I can't find any documentation on it. There is plenty of docs for silently installing the JRE but nothing for the JDK. I currently have:
    jdk-1_5_0_09-windows-i586-p.exe /s "/qn ADDLOCAL=ALL IEXPLORER=1 REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 INSTALLDIR=C:\java\jdk1.5"
    But that dosen't work. Does anyone anyone have any idea?

    Sir,
    It is true that the command line to install the JRE do not apply to the JDK.
    The only solution that I find to install my PCs with the JDK into a specific folder other than the "C:\Program Files\" folder was to install first the JRE then install the JDK.
    I don't know why but it's works.
    So I know that I have got a JRE that IE and Fireofx use to run applet and an other JDK (which include the JRE) for development.
    It is not perfect and it manages my case (JRE available into IE and Fireofx for applet) and a JDK development; both install into d:\java folder.
    That may be can help you.
    If you want talk about that, send me a email to essaidetest<a>yahoo.fr
    Cheers
