Installation of Live Office; Update for Office 2003 (KB907417)

Hello,
We are trying to install BOBJ Edge  3.1 on windows server 2003 R2 sp2 and office 2003 sp3.
Live Office installation is getting cancelled with the following message.
"Produkt: BusinessObjects Live Office XI 3.1 -- Update for Office 2003 (KB907417) was not detected on this  machine. Please install the update and re-run setup."
We installed the mentioned update on MS Office but the message did not disappear.
Does anyone have any insight on this issue?
One problem we are guessing is that of MS Office language. We have MS Office 2003 installaed in Swedish. Does any of you think that can be the reason.
thanks in advance.
/Suman

The solution for fixing 2003 with out upgrading to 2007 is to install this update

    Hello Vineet,
I did a complete uninstall (including the CS5 Clean Tool) and reinstalled MC CS5.  I ran the updater and everything seems to have updated properly.  Thanks for your help.  I was holding off on the reinstall because of the time involved with reconfiguring the apps, reinstalling plugins, etc.
Looking at the installer log, there appears to be some permissions related entries that were not present in logs of the failed installs.  Here is the relevant section of the log.

    Hi Anne,
Did you do this through one of the Office app updates, or did you download it directly from the Microsoft website?
Whichever way you tried it, I would try it the opposite way this time, although simply repeating what you did before may also work.

  • TS1702 Office Mobile for Office 365 WORKED PRIOR TOT HE LAST UPDATE?

Prior to the last IOS update i was able to use Office Mobile for Office 365 on my ipad and it worked perfectly. Apple swapped bugs and has put me into a fit for a new tablet. I dont have money to keep upgrading everytime apple needs a buck. tech support cannot support the issue and i am left in the cold with work to do. I guess i am going to leave apple products and buy a new windows tablet so i cam work. this frustrates me to no end. I spend a ton of money for hardware and software and enjoy the benefits of having a dependable system which gives me what i paid for, then apple decides they need to sell me a new table and force me into the poor house in the process. Guess what Apple??? you lost a good customer and proponent for your product. I will buy a windows tablet that works like a professional machine out of the box and not be bothered with anymore work arounds for you poor code and customer sensitivty. You have made it so I dont care to buy another profuct or app from you again. you have squeaked you last dollar out of me. I am not a victim and i will not llow you to make me one. I hope you get the same treatment you give. have a great business life, short and not so sweet.

Just for the record, Microsoft has not updated their app since Aug 21, 2013. They had access to months of preview versions of iOS 7 and all of it's updates since. Who do you think is responsible for a broken app?
Also, maybe try some basic troubleshooting steps before you rant. These issues are common after an OS update on EVERY platform, not just Apple devices.
You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Windows Update won't find updates for Office 2013?

    Hi,
    I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.
I have Office 2013 Professional Plus.
Whenever I check Windows Update for updates, it never seems to bring up updates for Office.  I assume there have been at least some updates to Office 2013 since it was released?
My Windows Update screen tells me:
"You receive updates: For Windows only."
When I click the "Find out more" to get updates for other MS products, all that happens is the IE opens up on a page that says "Use your Start menu to check for updates"
So... how do I get Windows Update to check for updates to Office 2013?  I feel very confused--I mean, shouldn't I be able to set Windows Update to check for updates for a whole host of MS programs (Silverlight, .NET, Office, etc.)?
I've tried changing the Windows Update settings to include other Microsoft products but there's no option to do so when I check.
Any insight would be appreciated! Someone recommended I ask here because I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise.

    Check for updates manually

  • Automate slipstream updates for Office setup

Hi. my question is for Office 2010\2013 setup
I always use the Updates folder to get the latest updates before installing office
but it still a very manual job. going to the microsoft update catalog website, download the office updates that are newer than what I have for each product (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint...), extract the files to get the MSP file and copy or overwrite
the files to the Updates folder...
I was wondering if there's a switch, powershell script or even a 3rd party tool that can do this job for me?
In Office 365 ProPlus i know that when I download a package I always get the most updated package automatically, which is great! I'm looking for something similar for Office 2013\2010 installation
that will check online updates, match it with my current update folder and download, extract and copy the latest updates to my installation source.
    thanks
    Tamir Levy

    Hi Tamir,
As far as I know, for MSI-based Office edition, we can not accomplish this whole process with any Office built-in options/configuration settings.
I'm not sure if this is achievable via any scripts, you might want to have a try in our dedicated scripting forum -
Script Center and see if anyone can provide a scripted solution.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Include all updates for Office 2010 PP during custom network install

    Hello...
I'm currently doing a custom network install of Office 2010 Professional Plus 32bit edition. The custom install is working fine with the MSP file in the \Updates folder.
I would now like to add all of the current updates, hotfixes, and service packs to the \Update folder so that Office 2010 is completely up-to-date when being deployed. I understand that I need to put the MSP files for these updates, hotfixes, and service
    packs in the \Updates folder.
    A couple questions:
1 - Is there one place that I can download all of the Office 2010 PP 32bit edition updates, hotfixes, and service packs... Excluding any 64bit edition updates? A repository of some sort?
2 - I'm assuming that if the hotfixes, and updates are downloaded as .CAB, I first need to extract it, get the .MSP file and put that into the \Updates folder?
3 - I think Service Packs come down as .exe's??!! If so, do I just put the .exe files in the \Update folder as well or do I need to run something special to extract them like I do with the .CAB files
I appreciate any help someone can give. If there is a better way to accomplish this, I'm open to all suggestions :)
    Thanks... Frank

  • Smart file examiner wont install updates for office on my macbook air. i click step two for show info then nothing happens

I just got my my macbook air and I am still learning how to use it. I just put Office 2011 on it and there was an update for it after i installed it. I did the update and it downloaded it but then instead of installing Smart File Examiner opens and step 1 sleect file and this is were is went /Users/user/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/3114AutoUpdate Installer.mpkg. Then it says information gathered successfully. step 2 click show information button. so I do and and the info on it opens in a new page, but it does not do anything else. So how do i finsh installing the update?

Downloading as we speak, and the first explanation that comes to mind is that both files have a .rar extension, and that since OS X doesn't support this archive format, you need to install a third-party utility to open them.
One files tool to open .rar files is The Unarchiver (here), and another is Stuffit Expander (there). 7zip also proposes a Mac version (here). All three will decompress a .rar file, and let you access the .dmg file(s) inside.
Also, depending on the browser you're using, and provided you might be inclined to open trusted files directly (I use Opera, and seldom save safe download; I click on "Open" in the download dialogue), your files could very well open... in the browser cache folder, out of sight. But if you use Safari, Chrome or Firefox, and you don't have any utility installed to handle .rar files, that's doubtful. I'm going to open your files now, and check if I can install them.
    Stay tuned!
Edit: decompressing the first file using The Unarchiver shows that the archive is "incomplete". Which leads me to think that you might have to concatenate the two files to make one "complete" .dmg file.
If so, once they are decompressed, open a Terminal (in Applications/Utility), then type "cat", and drag both files in the window, one after the other (preferably in the right order...), type a space, then give the final file any name you want, followed by the .dmg file extension:
    (e.g.:) "cat /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/File1.dmg /Users/Your_Name/File2.dmg /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/FinalFile.dmg"

  • Updates for Office there is not at SCCM

    Hi,
    I am using SCCM 2012 R2. Clients are Win8.1, Office 2010/Office 2013.
There is not the following updates at SCCM: KB2553248 and KB2687623
At Microsoft Update Catalog, these updates are Critical Updates.
At Software Update Point Component Properties the option for Critical Updates is checked.
The synchronization from Microsoft Update is OK
    The question is:
How to deploy the above updates using SCCM?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Both of the updates you list above for Office 2010 are superseeded by this one: 2687567,
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2687567
the update you are looking after for Office 2007 is superseeded by this:

I looked them up in the Microsoft Update catalog and there the superseedence information is listed.

  • Remaining Installs Available on Project Pro for Office 365

    Hello All,
I downloaded a demo version of Project Pro for Office 365 as I am looking to test/implement the software in my company. I have looked everywhere on the internet to solve my issue but I am unlucky, and therefore I am kindly asking your guidance on my issue.
I am looking forward to install Project Pro, but I am only limited to install up to 5 users on my login. What is this limitation, and is there any way around it. My company setup is quite simple, I want to able to install 10 Project Pro for Office 365 licenses
on 10 manager desktops, and I would like to link the primary account (1 licencse) to Project Online for portfolio management and other related PMO services.
Am I doing it wrong? is there any other alternative to my situation?
We already have MS Project 2007 installed in the system, but we are looking to have more collaboration and sharing services between users. Any other PM offering from Microsoft is welcome.
    Thank you very much

  • Remove Office command for Office 2004

I have just purchased an iMac with OS 10.4.8 and it came with the Test Drive for Office 2004. Every time I open an existing Word document, it automatically switches it and saves it as 2004, and when I want to print, I get the message that I cannot print until I purchase Office 2004. I do not and cannot update to Office 2004 because I work at a university that uses Office 2001 and I need to stay compatible. I researched and followed the directions to Remove Office for Office 2004, (but kept my Office 2001), emptied the Trash, Restarted the computer, but the same thing keeps happening! I checked the Hard Drive and Office 2004 is nowhere to be found, but my Word 2001 documents are being automatically saved as Word 2004 documents and then I cannot print them. I am in a vicious cycle here and will appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

    Hi again gracie:
Since you have Office 2001 installed as well, would recommend you make a good backup of your hard drive before deleting anything (except the preference files [plist]. I would dump all of the Microsoft preference files (Word, Office, etc), run the Office Test Drive uninstaller (I think there is one), and see if the corrects the problem. All of those things should not hurt anything.
A fairly easy way of backing up and or having a retreat paath is to make a bootable clone of your system on an external hard drive. I use a little program called SuperDuper ($28 at www.shirt-pocket.com). In that way, you are almost completely protected in the event of a hardware or software problem.
Incidentally, my Word 2004 gives a bunch of options when I do a "save as." It "says" that the save format is the same one used by Word 98 through 2004. I am no Word expert (far from it) but it seems that the formats should be compatible?????? Perhaps the test drive messed things up.

  • Problems after installation 16.0.3 update for Windows

I propose here to report problems appeared after installation 16.0.3 Illustrator update for Windows.
    As for me:
    Don’t display Stray and Center Points in Outline mode;
    Eyedropper+Shift works incorrectly;
Graphic Style Libraries -> Additive make disappeared Fill.

    Hi K,
Thank you for you reply and sorry if the information was a bit too truncated. well here goes.
I am using a MacBook Pro (3.1) 17 inch, 2.4GHz processor, 2 GB ram. I edit video using Final Cut Studio 2. i am having a problem with Final Cut Pro 6 after downloading the latest update (6.0.3). Before I downloaded the update I used to be able to export my movies on the Quicktime option of FCP (not compressor or Quicktime conversion) giving me the option to view the the movie while in an FCP Project. The viewer used to scale the exported video to 16.9 (720 by 576 anamorphic), it no longer does this, instead playing it in 4.3. I have tried exporting both from the time line and the canvas but the viewer will only preview in 4.3. As I want to see it in 16.9 because that is what the movie was made in, captured and edited in. The original settings have not changed but there seems to be this annoying problem.
I hope that is enough detail

  • Disable USB driver installation from searching Windows Updates for software

    Hello,
When a plug-n-play device is connected to a Windows 7 system, the system by default tries to search Windows update for compatible drivers.  I have a preconfigured driver store on each system that will have the drivers for all of the USB devices we care
about so I'd like to search the local driver store first before searching for Windows updates.
I found the option that controls this under System Properties > Advanced system settings > Hardware tab > Device Installation Settings.  I have set this option before my machines run through sysprep, however, sysprep appears to be resetting
the option back to the Windows default (Yes, do this automatically) and ignores what I set it to.
I have a reg key that I'm running post-sysprep, but I'd like to avoid this as it's an extra step and I don't want to have to account for it long-term.  My question is, is there a way to set this option in my sysprep unattend file?

    If this is a domain joined machine, this can be set by a Group Policy Object;
    Open Group Policy Management Editor.
In the navigation pane, open Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Internet Communication Management\Internet
    Communication settings.
In the details pane, double-click Turn off Windows Update device driver searching.
    Do one of the following:
To turn off searching Windows Update, click Enabled.
To allow searching Windows Update, click Disabled.
Click OK to save your settings.
    Instructions taken from: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730606(v=ws.10).aspx
If this PC is not on the domain (but is Pro) you may be able to set the same option on the Local Group Policy (GPEDIT.MSC).
    Kind Regards
