Installation of NW2004s on aIX

Hi
I want to install the fresh SAP Netweaver 2004s server on AIX box.
My requirement is as follows:
a)SAP Portal
b)SAP J2EE Engine 7.0
c)Database : SAPDB
I went on the link
http://servcie.sap.com/downloads/.
I went to the following link.
Installation and Upgarde>SAP Netweaver->SAP Netweaver>SAP Netweaver 2004s-->
Installation and Upgardes->AIX-->SAPDB..
Here i could see long list of Downalod objects.
Which of them shouild i downlaod to suffcie my installation purpose (i.e Portal + J2EE Engine).

log on user as SIDadm go commannd promt
type sqlplus " / as sysdba "
i will promt SQL> type here startup; enter u r database is startted
Then installed from that stage.

Error in Oracle Installation for NW2004s

I am in the proces of installing NW2004s in AIX Oracle machine.
When i was instlaling Oracle database, it gave me some re-linking errors and i ignored it and completed oracle instalation successfully.
But now when i am runing the sapinst, i am getting erorrs in database creation.
I searched soem forums and executed $ORACLE_HOME/bin/relink al
my oracle_home is set to /oracle/DBW/102_64

Whats the error you are getting ? You should have resolved the issue at the first place ..

Oracle 8.1.7/9iAS installation problem on IBM AIX 5.1 - loadext fails

Dear colleagues,
tried to install Oracle 8.1.7 and then Oracle 9iAS over AIX 5.1 on IBM eServer p-series. The installation fails in the very beginning - loadext for post-wait Kernel Extension (/etc/pw-syscall) fails with 'exec format error'. Documentation states 'AIX 4.3.3 or later required', no clear indication for AIX5, though. Any ideas or suggestions?
I understand, it is possible to roll back to AIX 4.3.3, although machine came with 5.1 pre-installed.

I had the same problem and finally used the loadext program from the 64-bit cpio-archive (Disk1). Just replace the file and startover again.
It worked and still works!

Installation of ECC6 on AIX/ DB2 taking long time

Hi,
I am installing SAP ECC 6 on a heavy power server with AIX 5.3 with DB2 9 and amd all the other setting is perfect with correct JDK version. The first 24 step on installation went fine in 20 min and its been more than 16 hrs where installation is on ABAP import step. The installation is running fine with out any error but its takeing long time
does it take long time on AIX with DB2?

I have installed NW2004s and updated to SP05 and try to run the template installer for usage type DI. However when I run the template installer with template "DI_Postinstallation", I got an error seems related to localization problem on step 8 (Configure CMS):

Installation error Nw2004s

Hi Guys,
i am installing the Nw2004 version in Linux and got an error saying
"This computer's host name is 'hostname.dev.com' but a reverse lookup returned 'hostname'. This will lead to problems later on when starting the Web Application Server. You can correct this problem by inserting a line: '10.0.0.1 hostname.dev.com' into the host file '/etc/hosts'. Do this now so that you can continue the installation."
and this is my hosts file i dont have DNS configred or installed in system.

I think i am doing correct please suggest me i am doing any thing wrong?

hello there .. i think you should also include the aliases. ie for eg...
192.168.0.1        ABC.abc.com        ABC
where ABC is the hostname and abc.com is the domain name. the second ABC is the alias
check using these commands
1-hostname
2-hostname -f
3-hostname -d
4-hostname -s

Hi Mike
please make sure that the connection to the database is working(R3trans -d -> trans.log). Additionally check if the Oracle listener is running (lsnrctl status) and the configuration files (listener.ora and tnsnames.ora) contain the correct hostname.
Hope it helps, I had a similar problem & it was due to the Oracle listener not started up, problem solved after I started the listener & re-run the installation.

In mySAP ERP 2005, xSS is now Web Dynpro for Java based and therefore needs to be installed on a system that is AS JAVA based - so no it is not possible to install it on the AS ABAP stack directly. You can install the AS JAVA as an add-in on the AS ABAP stack.
You can find the xSS installation information in the mySAP ERP 2005 installation master guide (http://service.sap.com/instguides). Please read this guide carefully as there are some SP-Stack dependencies between XSS and the mySAP ERP 2005 backend system.

Installation problem NW2004 SR1 on W2K3 MSSQL2005

I am installing the NW2004 SR1 ABAP Stack on W2K3 with MSSQL2005.
During the installation of the database instance Sapinst aborts at the end of the database load with following error:

Can anybody help out or did anybody face the same problem ?

Which is the base patch level from which you are trying to upgrade the Engine to SP13?
From the stack trace of the exception it seems that the properties for the JDBC connections were updated but you still have the old driver in the jdbc directory. Can you check if the sqlserver.jar contains the new jdbc classes and that the jdbc settings in the secure store correspond to the driver in jdbc directory?

you'll need to install a separate Java System and then deploy the JDI components into it and configure them.
In detail, it's:
- take care that the correct java version is installed on your server, for AIX see SAP notes 1024539 and 716927
- installing the SAP java system, depending on the database - software you can download the installation guide from http://service.sap.com/instguides => Netweaver 7.0 => Installation (there you'll find planning guides, installation guides, etc.)
- installing the Support Package Stack - I suppose you'll need SP09 - see http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks
- configuring SLD (if you do not already have one, you'll need an SLD for the JDI, see download the installation guide from http://service.sap.com/instguides => Netweaver 7.0 => Installation => 5 - Configuration => Post Installation Guide - SLD...
- then deploy the JDI (= NWDI): you'll find the sca-files under http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks - you'll need: JDI BUILD TOOL 7.0 SP09 (SAPDEVINF...), JDI ONLINE 7.0 SP09 (SAPBUILDT...) and JDI OFFLINE 7.0 SP09 (SAPDEVINFF...)

Installation error NW2004s ABAP Trial Version

Hi, i am getting constantly the following error(see the log file) while installing. My platform XP-SP2. I have ried many times with registry cleaning and a neat deinstallation(manual) etc., but of no avail! Can anybody please let me know what's wrong with my version. the extracted archive is not complete - some files are missing.
I think it has something to do with the CRC errors you have already mentioned.
So please try to re-download the archive from SAP.

What to do for sucesful installation of 10g on AIX 6.1

Hi.. I have to install oracle 10g on AIX6.1
I have found that oracle 10.2.0.3 start supporting AIX6.1 , but it is a patch and must be installed over base version 10.2.0.1.
So i want to ask should i create database while installing oracle 10.2.0.1 or I should not create database while installing 10.2.0.1 instead first i should install 10.2.0.1(skipping creating database) then upgrade to 10.2.0.3 and then run dbca for creating database. Please tell me the correct way...

When you ask for help regarding an error, it's much better to actually provide the exact error code and message. Anything less is the equivelent of sayng "My car doesn't start. What's wrong with it"
Did you read the installation guide and follow the prerequisites? Particularly the parts about 'required packages' and 'required kernel parameters'?
