Installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.6 in HP Unix

Hi,
I want to install OBIEE 11.1.1.6 in a HP-Unix machine.So anyone please tell me what are the software required for the installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.6 and how to install it?
Can anyone please tell what are the prerequisites required for the installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.6 in HP Unix?

what will be the CPU size for the OS HP-UX 11i (11.31)?Is the dual core Pentium is used for the HP UX Itanium?
A. Unix system processer mostly xeon core quad .
What should be the size of the HDD for the installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 in HP UX Itanium?
A.Default any company maintain HDD like (200gb or 150Gb) for each track like (Datbase,Application) but actual size is 1 Tera HDD.
Can u tell me how to connect the RCU in the windows/Linux from HP UX?
A. Once install Rcu in your windows or linux ( It will stor all middle ware tables stored in Database like (These schemas will store all the meta-data information related to your BI Application, like lifecycle of app, any triggers, any schedulers etc. OBIEE will NOT start or work if these Schemas are NOT up and running. If Admin deletes these schemas then you would have porblems while logging into OBIEE.)

A. Install WebLogic Server wls1035_generic.
Run RCU to install schemas on the database server. Run OBIEE and select Software Only install type.
After the installation is done, run config.sh from the path /Oracle_BI1/bin and follow instructions to complete the configuration.

On Windows:
run RCU to install schemas on database. run setup file from Disk1 to install OBIEE. Select simple install type. This will install and configure obiee.
from programs, Start BI services to start all the services.

Please double check your looback adaptor configuration
The issue has been identified as that for some reason there is a hardcoded machine name mistakenly placed in the Solaris version of OBIEE, which is being sent out to be resolved by DNS. This machine name is an internal oracle machine, and so DNS can not find it.
This has been reported as the following bugs:
Bug 12804924 - OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 INSTALLATION FAILS IN CONFIG PHASE WHEN STARTING COMPONENTS
Bug 12790815 - AFTER WHAT APPEARS TO BE A GOOD INSTALL CANNOT RESTART ANY OBIEE SERVICES
Solution:
As a workaround, Add the following entry to the end of your hosts file with a dummy IP address (e.g. 127.0.0.1) and then reboot:
127.0.0.1 stafas12.us.oracle.com stafas12
This should prevent timeout while checking DNS to resolve that non-existing address.

Xcode 4.x cannot be installed on Snow Leopard. You need a 3.x. So if that is what you used then yes, you need to install lion. If connect.apple.com still alows registration or logins using an existing appleid then you could download the last xcode 3.2.6 for free.

Error in installation of obiee

when i was trying to install the obiee on my machine it was saying that java.lang not defined.i have already installed j2sdk1.5 still i am gettings this error.so please rectify my error thanks in advance

I dont know what is the error all about,but it will continue installation and completes it successfully.If you want to use charts that deals with corda that would give you problem.

Installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.6 in Windows 2003 32-bit

Hi friends,
Im going to install OBIEE 11.1.1.6 latest version in my windows system.
I need to know the exact softwares that i need to download inorder to accomplish it.
Im not sure only the following is needed to install OBIEE 11.1.1.6, but correct me if im wrong.

Its not only upgrading purpose .its used to install obiee also(without configuration), let say if your going to practice/POC/Personal kind then just go for "Simple" installation ..otherwise just go for Software only installation (Devlopment/Production) Server its just installation there is no configuration.if you want to specify several more configuration settings than go for enterprise install

Error in advanced installation of obiee on linux

Hi All
while i am installing obiee 10.1.3.2.0 on linux am getting the following error.
"PopChart installation failed. Please re-run it under /uo2/oraobias/product/OracleBI/Corda after this installation.
After specifying the directories and selecting "advanced" installation this error is occuring.
But the installation continued.
Please suggest me if you have any idea.

Installation & setting OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 on Windows Server 2008 r2

Hi Gurus,
I am able to install the OBIEE software help of below thread.

Then i face issues like not able to connect to ODBC and other then i googled i found the below link.

I followed the steps given in this blog except set 2. a.) and b.) as i cant find the folders on the server.
The problem is Once i log in I am able to view the first report on my welcome page but i cant travers from one tab to another nor to different Dashboard. when i Click on the Edit dashboard i am able to. i am able to create go to answers But i cant go to the different dashboard pages. I have go to link on some of the dashboard pages with that help i can travers from one dashboard page to another. One more thing i noticed that Charts are not displaying and Conditional formating also not displaying. I dont no why something is working something not.
Please help me its very urgent and kind a risk of my J.

Change the ODBC driver with OCI driver in the connection pool. Download and install oracle instant client if you don't have any Oracle fat client on the machine where is OBIEE.

Need Guidence in Installation of OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I am installing OBIEE 11g on stand alone m/c(WindowsXP 32Bit).
I have installed Oracle DB 11g on the same machine and now trying to create repository by repository creataion utility.
I have given hostname : localhost, port : 1521
I am getting error i.e
"Unable to connect to the database using the provided details.
Please enter a valid hostname and port or check if the listener is up and running., "
Can anybody guide me, where i went wrong?

Installation of OBIEE 11g hangs

Hi All,
the install goes fine, until 92% completed and it hangs at RELINKING the ORACLE NET SUPPORT FILES 11.1.0.7...
not sure why this is happening...
by the way, OS is OEL5 Upd 4....
any ideas?

I checked log files on previous installs and didnt see any errors.

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 installation on windows 2008 R2 64 bit failing

I installed OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 version on windows 2008 R2 64bit;installation has no issues all went well and sample app displayed fine.But, i see scheduler is not starting and also we deployed our code but reports failing with following oracle oci error

i also installed and verified by installing 11g client;PATH variable setting etc. no exact solution.i would like to see if any other also facing same issue with OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on windows 2008 R2 64 bit OS.

i didnt get what you mean by rpd client.,if you mean Admin tool, installation is OBIEE 'simple installation' type which includes Admin tool.
coming to connectivity, no from physical layer you cannot view data as the packaged dll file (nqsdbgatewayoci10g64.dll ) is not registering in Windows 2008 64 bit,which i even tried manually.
since above step is failing, i also installed a 11g db client(to divert oci connections) which is working fine for oracle connectivity and updated PATH environment variables but this issue is still in place.. as reports still pointing to Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/server/bin/ dll files
please share your thoughts

OBIEE 11g Installation Fails at configuration process

Hi All,
I tried installing OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 in my machine.Below are the prerequsite which I followed and the laptop system configuration details.
Pre-Requisites Followed : 1) Creation of Static IP address,2) Created Schema's using RCU In Oracle 11g Database.
Laptop Details : OS-Windows 7,Ram 3 GB and space for Installation nearly 14 GB.
Installation Type: Simple Installation
Issue : There are 14 steps in the wizard.I have succeeded till step 12 which is called "Installation Process",But in Step 13 'Configuration progress' the wizard says Creating Domain status as 'In Progress' which stays in the same status even after 2 hours.So I am not able to complete installation Process as the wizard is not completing the Step 13 process which is 'BI Configuration'. This is the 4 attempt Iam trying the installation and the output is failure in the installation of OBIEE 11g on my machine.
Known Issue : Also when I executed the setup file for running the installation file in 'Drive:\bi_windows_x86_111150_32_disk1_1of2\bishiphome\Disk1\setup.exe',in the command prompt i got a warning message like swap space is 0.But I ignored that error and I gave 'y' to proceed further for the installation.As this swap space issue was common in many of our folk installation process which has ended in successful installation.
Help Needed : Can any one suggest me what will be the cause for the issue,or any Pre-requisite is missing,or the installation steps which I need to follow to make my installation successful.

- all installation files must be in a folder without spaces.
Try to decompress all files in c:obi11g for exemple and restart installation.
Or
- You may have a temp directory in the path C:Documents and Settingsuser_nameLocal SettingsTemp. You got the above mentioned exception because of the temp directory path having spaces in it.
Solution:
1. Create a new directory called TEMP in a different location for ex: C:TEMP
2. Now, Right click on My computer --> Properties --> Advanced --> click on Environment Variables.
3. You should be having TEMP and TMP as variables under user variables section pointing to the C:Documents and Settingsuser_nameLocal SettingsTemp path.
4. Edit the TEMP and TMP variables and mention C:TEMP in the variable value.
5. Deinstall and re-install OBIEE 11g.
