Installation of oracle 10g db and it's 10g em in 2003 Server

I installed the oracle 10g db in MS 2003 server but when i am installing the 10g em in server it gives me problem and i can not use the EM for oracle.
can anybody help me and tell the how should i install it.
I got 2 dvd of EM for oracle release 2(10.2.0.2.0) and patch release 3(10.2.0.30.0)

First, ensure EM is up and running and your database is properly configured and registered against the listener.
The most frequently seen issue with EM in win2003 has to do with IE enhanced security. Deinstall it and retry it. You could test EM by using another browser such as Firefox or Netscape.

I don't think XP professional would be recommended as server.
would be better if you use 2000 Server or best if you use 2003 if you like windows environment

Install oracle 10g on windows 2003 server issues

I am very new to oracle
I installed oracle 10g release 2 Enterprise Edition on a Win 2003 Server.
I got all oracle services running after install
But I can not connect to the database from another machine which is on the same domain
I set USE_SHARED_SOCKET =TRUE under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Oracle/HOME
(as I learned from the forum)
I turned off windows firewall (or with the firewall turned on add port 1521 to Exceptions list) .
I restarted listener serivces and I even reboot the machine Still I can not connect to the database from another machine.
What am doing wrong here?
We are on a tight schedule now any help will be very appriciated.

Firewall-related problems normally throw ORA-12535, not ORA-12170 (the message a timeout occurred is the same). Description for this error is:
Error:     ORA-12170 (ORA-12170)
Text:     TNS:Connect timeout occurred
Cause:     The server shut down because connection establishment with a
     client failed to complete within the allotted time interval. This
     may be a result of network/system delays; or this may indicate
     that a malicious client is trying to cause a Denial of Service
     attack on the server.
Action:     If the error occurred because of a slow network/system,
     reconfigure the SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT parameter in
     sqlnet.ora to a larger value. If a malicious client is suspected,
     use the address in sqlnet.log to identify the source and restrict
     access. Note that logged addresses may not be reliable as they can
     be forged (e.g. in TCP/IP).
Hostname in listener.ora has a domain included, while in tnsnames.ora has not. Y Can you ping the host? Does tnsping work? To get more detailed informations you may turn on tracing on the client side (in sqlnet.ora) and the server sid (in listener.ora).

Install Oracle 10g on Windows 2003 Server cluster (MSCS)

Hi all
How do I install Oracle 10g on Windows 2000 cluster (MSCS installed)?
I have a 2-nodes Microsoft windows 2003 server cluster and I want to install Oracle 10g,
Do I folloow this order:
1. Install the software on both without the database
2. Create the database from the first node
in this case, The second node can see the database as it is available?,
and what about the IP adresses?
If you can point me to some documentation, or help in any way, I would appreciate it.

PROBLEM IN INSTALLING ORACLE 10G ON WINDOWS 2003 SERVER(WIN2K3)

I have successfully removed Oracle 9i from win2k3.Am unable to install oracle 10g on the same system.............. problem : Universal installer window stucks at 14%, no error......no resource utilization by installer(as viewed from task manager).

Oracle 10g crashes Windows 2003 server (bluescreen)

Hello,
i have a problem that Oracle 10G crashes my Windows 2003 Server. All components are up-to-date and it is a certified system setup. The database worked well for months, but three days ago when our staff went to a workshop, I shut down the machine, and when we came back yesterday I just powered it up again (no changes have been done in the meantime).
The boot procedure ended up at a bluescreen, I tried two more times with the same result. I was able to deactivate many services to narrow down the error cause. It came out that the starting of the OracleDBConsoleorcl service causes the bluescreen :
BAD_POOL_CALLER 0x000000C2 (0x00000044,0x00000000,0x80000000,0x00000000) . This is re-producable, I just have to switch on that service and it will bluescreen the machine.
The strange thing is, that the OracleServiceORCL is working fine, I can even use SQL-Plus and RMAN to get to the data, but without the OracleDBConsoleorcl the Enterprise manager doesnt work anymore, and our applications also cannot connect to the database. IÂ´ve looked up the error on google, it seems to be an error in addressing memory. Anyway, the database worked fine for weeks and I wonder why I cant get it back into business anymore. Right now, iÂ´m lost. Anybody know what to do with this error ?

It turned out to be an error in the Windows 2003 OS-Kernel. Every install/uninstall of programs immediately leads to a bluescreen. Luckily, this can be solved with a hotfix from microsoft (you gotta email them to get it, it is not public yet). The corresponding article in the microsoft knowledge base is http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;888431
It will install a new ntoskrnl.exe and the problem is solved afterwards (oracle DB starts again, and also the other install/uninstall problems are solved). Hint : Boot to safe mode and then install the hotfix, if you just start the hotfix it will bluescreen right when you click onto the hotfix.

Oracle 10g R2 Windows 2003 Server "EM Error"

My Oracle Enterprise Manager is not working and 'emctl' giving the following error when i try to start or stop dbconsole, it gives the following error:

Remote impdp oracle 10G in window 2003 server

Hi Experts,
I can use IMP/EMP to remote IMP/EMP as
imp/exp USERID=SYSTEM/SCOTT@ORCA......
However, datapump need to create a directory=IMP_dir
we have 2 server between east and west coast. exp dump files locates in local server.
Can we remote IMPDP dump file inot weast site from east server?
I need some example codes.

exp and inp are old export and import
expdp and impdp are datapump new export and import.
If you don't require a dumpfile you can run a network mode datapump import from the target server.
Let's say you want to export the database from the east server and import it to the west server.
If you login to the west server and create a database link to point to the east server then create a directory on the west server. You could then just run a single command to import the data from the east server to the west server.
impdp system/manager directory=my_directory network_link=my_link full=y ...

Last time I looked at metalink the documentation said zones and containers were not supported. That may no longer be true so you should check there first.

So I changed the "CUSTOM.RSP" response file parameters by adding

If by "advantages of installation of oracle 10g rac on open solaris on x86 machine" you mean advantages over RAC on Linux or AIX or HP/UX there aren't any.
If you want to know the advantages of RAC over stand-alone they generally relate to:
1. Eliminating the server as a single point of failure
2. Transparent fail-over
2. Incremental horizontal scalability

You can run 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2003 x64 nicely and upgrade to Windows 2008. Since there is no "upgrade" (it is the highest version supported) there´s no need to do anything.
The question you have to ask is:
Why do you need Windows 2008? Is there any technical implication?

There are different things here to know about.
Did you also create database while installation ?
If yes then
C:\> set oracle_sid=yoursid
C:\> sqlplus username/password
If not then, please create the database first.

(2) Password: This is password.

Take a look at the OS requirements located in the Oracle installation notes. You will need to have the required RPMs and kernel settings before installing Oracle for the correct architecture. For a 64-bit architecture, you will also be required to install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of certain packages. It's all in the release notes.

Oracle does not announce release dates and neither
does any other software company.But Oracle does have a very good track record of supporting their products on new windows releases extremely close to the windows release date. Clearly they can't support on an unreleased platform though. Given that the launch of Server 2008 isn't even complete worldwide yet (19th March in the UK for example) it would seem that this enquiry is a little premature.
